White box around png images in Final Cut Express 4.0
I was putting in some muzzle flashes into my video with final cut express 4.0, they were png images and there was a white box around the muzzle flash after i used the composite mode screen effect, if anybody knows what the problem is i could use the help.
I inserted a 3D bullet into my movie and it had a black background. I used Composite Screen and it it worked, but it made the bullet slightly transparent. What should I do?

Projecting still images using final cut express
Maybe someone can answer this tricky question. We need to project a FCE movie that has photoshop still images imported into it, but these photoshop images (which appear normal on the computer screen), are distorted in the projection. They look squashed horizontally. In fact the still image that we made with photoshop and imported into final cut needs to be projected on a wall to match a four foot tall section of the wall, so we need get the size exact. That is the reason why we cannot have any distortion.
We have read that still images imported into final cut should be 720 by 480 pixels to avoid distortion, but that produces an even more squashed image, and this in pixels, that determined the size of the image, so how would we determined the size without affecting the pixels? The distance between the projector and the wall is already fixed and we cannot move it. Does anyone know how to maintain the original proportions of a still image imported into FCE for projection? Thank so much.Hi, thanks you for your quick answer. We used photoshop elements 4.0 (for Mac) and Final Cut Express HD 3.5.1 (Mac). The still image that we bring into FE is a mask, it has a transparency so I guessed is layered. When we bring it into FE appears as sequence so we open it into a timeline and bring it back to the browser so it can be used as a still image. The movie is projected as DVD on the wall.

Rendering a jpeg image in Final Cut Express
I have a jpeg image which shows up correctly in the captured bin of Final Cut Express once it is imported, but it will not render properly. The background is black in the viewer, and the image(jpeg) in the center of the screen is a bright green square.
Im able to add motion to the image, but it does not show up in the viewer as the image, it is only a green square.
Can this be fixed in FCE?
The original file is from an email, probably from a pc, does this cause compatibitity issues? If you have access to an image editing tool such as photoshop, I would advice you import the image into Phototshop and save it in a different format e.g, GIF format and re-import it into Final Cut Express HD. This could solve your rendering problem if all you need is to use a Still image.

Getting white boxes around images.. help!
I dont know whats going on. I havent used Dreamweaver in a
while and am having an odd issue.
Located here: www.gwoodsconst.com
I am getting white boxes around the images. Not sure what the
issues. Any thoughts? Thanks.Your image contains the white box, not your HTML. If you
created it in a graphics program like Illustrator or Corel, the
anti-aliasing setting at export put a thin blur around the edges to
visually smooth the image
Crop the image by one or two pixels then reset your sizes so
it’s not distorted.
That will fix it. -
How do I get rid of faint white boxes around images?
Some files that I have printed have faint white boxes around images. The images were saved in photoshop with transparent backgrounds that seem to be showing up faintly in the final printed image. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this problem?
signspec,
What happens if you print from Illy?
Your printer (driver) may be overly helpful and performs a bit of colour management all by itself. You may have a look and disable any such management in the printer (driver) options. -
White box around image in my transparent .swf file
I created a .swf file for a header of a website using a logo that tweens in. I tested the .swf with the transparent properties and it works but the logo I imported from photoshop has a white box around it, how can I remove this? Do I need to import a transparent .png file instead of a .jpg?
Thanks!.png's are lossless vector graphics, so it's probably best bet if your going to do other things with the logo. .jpg's are not fond of resizing. You can also break the image apart and use the lasso tool and magic wand the background away.

I'm trying to upload a saved graphic watermark to my photos in Lightroom 4 but no matter what I do, I can't get the white box around the watermark to go away. I've already tried saving the watermark file in PNG like other sites suggested but it does no good. Other sites tell me I need to save the watermark in another version of adobe and check the box "transparent" but Lightroom is the only version of adobe I have. Any help ASAP would be greatly appreciated!!!
I have also been trying to solve the same problem. Where does one take an already created watermark and make it transparent? I have Photoshop on my old Mac and e-mailed my solid white background watermark to myself, opened it in Photoshop and "erased" the white background. Transfered it back to my Lightroom on my MacBookPro and exported the test photo w/ the "erased" background watermark. I had no idea if it would work….it did not. OR : How does one create a transparent watermark? I have a graphic I want to use w/ my name. Please HELP!!!

Hi, I know this is a basic question but it's causing me a lot
of grief.
When I place images on coloured backgrounds, they have white
boxes
around them. Is the only way to get around this to manipulate
the
image itself in photoshop? I've tried this but it still
doesn't look
right - there are jagged edges. Or I've tried giving the
image the
same colour background in photoshop so it blends, but there
is a white
edge. How do others handle this? Some expert advice would
really be
great to have.If you are seeing white borders against colored backgrounds,
then this means
that the white is part of the image. There would be no way to
remove that
short of editing the image in your image editing program.

Error in printing? White boxes around text?
Right now I'm experencing a problem with printing in
Flashpaper. In my company we're converting brochures over into
Flashpaper as a test. Everything converts over smoothly until we do
a print test. What we're seeing in our print outputs is any area
that contains text on top of a image you'll get an white box around
the text. Although when you view the flashpaper on the monitor you
don't see that white box around the text. It appears that during
print process the text fields retain a white box and doesn't set it
to be transparent.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? And is there a way
around this?HI
Did you ever get any clue about this issue? I have the same
problem or worse.

Final Cut Express 4 Rendering of Still images
I recently upgraded to Final Cut Express HD. Now, whenever I bring in still images, they come in as unrendered. Before, they would still be able to preview. If I do pan and zooms, it has to rerender. Is there anyway I can bring back the preview mode, as this will seriously slow my work.
Switch your timeline's RT popup to Unlimited RT. Uncheck the box for warn next time if/when you get a dropped frame dialog box.

Importing images into final cut
Hi,
I am working on a widescreen video, DV PAL format in final cut express (4.0.1). The sequence is thus set to anamorphic (seq properties: frame size: 720x576, dv-pal, anamorphic).
To get the effect I wanted, I exported the frames for a clip as an image sequence out of fce and opened these in GIMP. There I first rescaled the image to 1024x576 which is PAL widescreen. Then I made the changes.
Now when I re-import back into fce:
1. it imports it as a sequence. This is even when I have flattened the image but saved as .psd. Is it doing so because its saved as .psd? Anyway this is not a big issue.
2. The bigger issue is that the image is vertically smaller than the sequence i.e. there is a little black space at the top and bottom. Why is this happening? The item properties of the image imported as a sequence is frame size:1024x576, dv-pal. anamorphic not checked.
thanksthanks. I have uploaded the image imported into fce online at
http://ajaybrar.com/images/screenshot.png
As you can see there are the black bars at the top and bottom.
The file before import is at
http://ajaybrar.com/images/5001.png
Not sure if that helps though. But the sequence properties of the imported image has frame size 1024x576 with anamorphic not checked. Is this correct? the frame size of the other anamorphic clips is 720x576. So my master sequence is 720x576, anamorphic and into that i am putting the imported image which is 1024x576. Could that then be causing the problem? In that FCE resizes it... -
Hi all,
Please can you help? No matter what settings I use in my print options in InDesign CC 2014 (v.10), ALL transparent images with a drop shadow are printing with a white box behind the image. If I remove the drop shadow, all prints fine. I know this is an old issue that happens with ID sometimes but I have been lucky enough to never have had it happen to me before! (All images are regular flattened TIFF images with clipping paths).
Also, feathered edges are not printing correctly and are sharp instead of feathered.
When I export the document to IDML and open it up in InDesign CC (v.9) all prints perfectly with no white boxes and feathered edges prints perfectly as well. I have compared all of the print settings (including color management, transparency flattener, etc.) between both versions and they are exactly the same. I am printing to a Xerox color laser printer. Can anyone offer any advice?
Thank you so much,
ChristineOkay...false alarm! It turns out that the issue was with my PRINTER settings (the settings you customize after hitting the “Printer” button at the bottom of the Print dialogue box in ID CC. I thought I had triple checked this but it seems there was one setting I missed earlier…adjusting the print brightness seemed to cause the issue. SO GLAD to know it was not InDesign…20 or so sheets/prints later….and thankful to know what was causing the issue! Thank you so much Steve for helping at any rate:) Much appreciated:)

Sorry I'm new to Final Cut Express. How do you make an image (jpeg file for example) move across the screen slowly as I've seen in many films.

Hi. In InDesign CS3, Photoshop 7.0 & of course Acrobat 7.0
I made a Photoshop PDF & brought it into InDesign to export it into a PDF so I can make crop marks.
The PDF in Acrobat & InDesign both had a white box around some of the text. I had embedded the fonts in Photoshop, so I do not understand why that happened. I went back into Photoshop & just retyped over where the box was appearing & this had solved the problem after I repdfed & imported it into ID. Acrobat viewed the text perfect then.
I want to prevent this from happening in the future, does anyone know what I can do to look out for things like this?Very sorry--that's certainly information I should have included. I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard, version 9.3.3. I'm creating the PDFs from within Microsoft Word 2007 via the Acrobat tab on the ribbon, clicking "Create PDF."

Why is there a white box around everything I touch with no response at all?
You have Voice Over turned on. Once you tap the item and see the box, tap it two more times to activate the selection.
Then go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Voice Over, and turn it off. Remember, 3 taps per selection until you have turned it off.
Cheers,
