  • Buttons in white box... .should have background of page

    I'm new to fireworks. Created a navbar with buttons. Canvas
    set to transparant, as also the buttons in the up state.
    After export and import to Dreamweaver. The navbar is white,
    allthough I expected the page-background to 'shine through. I
    cannot make canvas the same color as the page background, since the
    background has a gradient fill...
    What am I doing wrong ?
    Tnx for any help.
    Hugo

    Open up your nav bar, and then head to File > Image
    Preview. Select "GIF" as the export option. Select the Eye Dropper
    tool on the bottom left, and click the color you want to be
    transparent (probably white) in your artwork.
    Click export at the bottom and and you should be in good
    shape!

  • InDesign CS3 "White Box" when printing with linked Photoshop EPS files

    This problem has been covered before, but never really resolved:
    Robert Levine, "InDesign CS3 Erratic White Box Phenomenon with Placed Photoshop EPS files" #1, 1 Apr 2008 11:05 am
    Now, I'm aware that we should no longer be using EPS files. I wholeheartedly agree. But until we can convince the department to change to another format (namely PSD or TIFF) for our vast library of images, I need a workaround.
    It seems that setting the clipping path for each linked image to "Photoshop Clipping Path" resolves this issue. So I tried writing an AppleScript that would find each linked Photoshop EPS and set it's clipping path to "Photoshop clipping path", but it didn't work for me (my expertise with AppleScript is basically nil.)
    Can anyone assist with the creation of this script? Or does anyone have a better suggestion for solving or working around the Photoshop EPS erratic white box printing problem?
    Thanks!

    >Why??????????
    Because they've got zillions of EPS and have no time to resave them all and because it
    b should
    work even if Buko doesn't like EPS...
    (Your vendetta against EPS takes on strange proportions. Were you bitten as a child by a rabid EPS and have sworn to wipe them out? Must be an interesting story behind it ;) )
    Brian, this script seems to do the job with one very important caveat: I see no way of finding out which path is active in the EPS (in case that more than one). So the script simply activates the first in the list.
    tell application "Adobe InDesign CS3"
    set aDoc to active document
    set allLinks to links of aDoc
    repeat with n from 1 to (count allLinks)
      set aLink to item n of allLinks
      if link type of aLink is "EPS" then
       set anEPS to parent of aLink
       tell clipping path of anEPS
        set ePaths to photoshop path names
        if (count ePaths) > 0 then
         set clipping type to photoshop path
         set applied path name to item 1 of ePaths
        end if
       end tell
      end if
    end repeat
    end tell

    The graphics display screen pulled right out of the machine. I have opened it up but I can not find where the white cable (more like a flat ribbon) should be located and inserted inside the machine. • White box or not?

    Hello
    I have just received the free upgrade to fiber optic. An engineer came to set up the new socket. I didn't have the black router as I had to go to collect it from the post office but he kept on saying I just needed to plug one cable, very easy. He brought a white modem to connect to the black router. I did that and after trying to reset, unplug, etc... no broadband signal, red light flashing until the day after. I phoned BT and they told me I should not use the white modem and to connect the black router directly to the new socket. I was surprised and the person on the line did not know the reason why I had that white box! Broadband now is working fine, speed test done a few times, I'm just wondering why the engineer installed the white box and what I should do with that, and also if I'm getting the fiber optic speed (test are between 50 and 80 mpbs).
    Anyone who knows the answer... thank you!

    I suggest use your openreach box with your HH5, I get rubbish upload speeds without it of course it may not be the same with yours.

  • White box before swf plays

    I looked for similar questions on the forum, but couldn't find a reference. This is likely an inane question (with a simple answer), but here goes.
    I have created slideshows for a site with a blue background. In quick succession, the page loads, a white box appears where the swf will play, and then the Flash movie starts. The background color of the Flash file matches the background color of the site. How do I get rid of the white box that appears beforehand?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards,
    Jon

    If the background of the movie is the same color as the page I think there is a param you can change in your object tag or your swfobject or something like that that will make the swf stage transparent. Then I think the white box will go away.
    You may also need to use a preloader to eliminate the box.

  • All I get is a grayed out box where the graphic should be when I open up an old indd file.

    Occasionally when I open an old indd file (created by PageMaker and last saved to CS4 format) some of the graphics (tifs) do not show correctly. All I get is a grayed out box where the graphic should be. The only work around that I have found so far is to have one of my co workers open the document with InDesign CS4, and cut and paste the graphic to Photoshop and then save as a png file. Once the graphics are resaved they import correctly. Note that these graphics will NOT display correctly in any InDesign version higher than 4. I do not have access to any of the original graphic files (the computer they were created/stored on is long gone).
    To add insult to injury, when I try and replace and save the document into CC2014 something gets damaged in the file since the saved (CC2014 version) document will not export to a pdf.
    I would hate to install InDesign 4 back on my machine since I am currently running CC2014 on a Windows 7 laptop.Anyone have a better solution?

    Thanks Bob.
    I am thinking along the same line.
    It's interesting that some of the unaffected graphics in the document come up as embedded, but some are just placed there with no link information.
    I guess it's just a matter of how the original graphic was treated or saved.

  • Replacing Graphics w/ White Boxes For Printing?

    Hey!
    Is it possible to replace graphics/images with white boxes when exporting/printing? Using the "Omit for OPI" option produces black boxes - even worse for saving ink!
    Thanks and Merry Christmas!
    Lars

    You can use the Attributes panel to make individual items non-printing or you can put them all one one non-printing layer. When you print proofs or make proof PDFs for the client you can include non-pri ting objects. Turn that option off for the final output/PDF.

  • White box where swf should be DW CS5.

    Now I have another issue. All I want to do is have this site working properly for a select audience. It's a mess otherwise. For some reason I get a white box where my SWF should be. It's important because it' my navigation (another bad idea). It works on every other page just not on this one http://www.creativetroubleshooter.com/landho.htm Any ideas??? Thanks in advance. This group rocks!
    PS: Now when I try to previwe in FF or Sarari, DW can't find the server.

    For some reason I get a white box where my SWF should be.
    Actually it's for a very specific reason, and it's usually always for the *same* reason in every post here....
    just not on this one http://www.creativetroubleshooter.com/landho.htm Any ideas???
    The file that is pointed to in your page - http://www.creativetroubleshooter.com/flash%20button/green1.swf - is actually here -- http://www.creativetroubleshooter.com/green1.swf. This usually means that the site is not properly defined, or that you made a mistake in linking to the file.

  • White box where spry menu should be

    I posted this problem a short while ago where I have a white
    box show up in place of a horizontal spry menu. However, it is only
    in earlier versions of IE. Someone replied that I needed to upgrade
    to Spry 1.6 which I did but I am still having the same problem. I
    am using Dreamweaver CS3. When you roll the cursor over the white
    box, some of the menu does show up but way over to the right. The
    menu shows up fine (centered top) in Safari and later versions of
    IE.
    Also, in earlier versions of IE, my hyperlinks are not in the
    same place where they are in Safari and newer versions of IE. They
    are positioned relative and at %'s.
    You can see a sample of both issues on the webpage:
    www.seanplatt.com/insidepage.html
    Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    The store might just be busy - Have you been able to connect since?

  • White box where Flash should be

    Hi,
    I don't know if anyone could help me on this (I'm not the main programmer of our company's website) but just the other day we noticed that the main flash animation on our company's website (www.afhu.org) didn't display on some browsers, notably IE6.   It works on IE8, FF, Chrome etc.  What the user sees instead of the animation is just a white box the size of the flash object.
    I believe the flash lines from the homepage are as follows;
      <!-- BEGIN: main column -->
      <div id="MainColumn">
        <div class="Column" id="LeftColumn">
        <img src="files/rothbergampitheater.jpg" width="478" height="478" alt="rothbergampitheater.jpg" title="rothbergampitheater.jpg" />
      <p><a target="_blank" href="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer">Get Adobe Flash Player</a></p>
      </div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
      var so = new SWFObject("/sites/all/themes/afhu/flash/afhu.swf", "mymovie", "478", "478", "8", "#EEEEEE");
      so.addParam("wmode", "transparent");
      so.write("LeftColumn");
    </script>
    I've seen postings on the web referring to this but most seem older.  I'm not sure if this issue has always been with us or is new.  We haven't changed any code recently and I would think we would have seen it before but perhaps not.  Can anyone tell me from the code above (or from our website, www..afhu.org) if the Flash coding looks 'correct'?  Thanks $1mil.  !

    you must have some code adding swfobject.js to your html but other than that your code looks ok.
    but it's an older version (1) of swfobject.   you might want to update to version 2 and see if the problem is resolved or, read about swfobject issues with older browsers and see if this is something that's been fixed with version 2.

  • Help! When in "graphic watermark" setting, how do I remove white box around my watermark? Already saved in PNG

    I'm trying to upload a saved graphic watermark to my photos in Lightroom 4 but no matter what I do, I can't get the white box around the watermark to go away. I've already tried saving the watermark file in PNG like other sites suggested but it does no good. Other sites tell me I need to save the watermark in another version of adobe and check the box "transparent" but Lightroom is the only version of adobe I have. Any help ASAP would be greatly appreciated!!!

    I have also been trying to solve the same problem.  Where does one take an already created watermark and make it transparent?  I have Photoshop on my old Mac and e-mailed my solid white background watermark to myself, opened it in Photoshop and "erased" the white background.  Transfered it back to my Lightroom on my MacBookPro and exported the test photo w/ the "erased" background watermark.  I had no idea if it would work….it did not.  OR : How does one create a transparent watermark?  I have a graphic I want to use w/ my name.   Please HELP!!!

  • Insert an FLA and only seeing white screen where animation should be

    When I import an FLA onto my site with dreamweaver and test the site, I get a white box where the flash animation should be. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong because I'm saving the flash file then going into DW, using the common media insertion tab, and ending up with a white blank screen when I view live.
    Thanks for any suggestions!

    I don't know what you're talking about. Previous correspondence between yourself and OP was in regard to error message when trying to convert in Media encoder, which is expected because of the reasons mentioned in my previous post. Perhaps you are confusing my recommendation of opening the file in Flash and converting to flv or swf, not your unsuccessful attempt of opening the file in Flash Media Encoder, which will produce an error message because .fla is an unsupported file type for media conversion since it's a project file, not a media file.
