White death screen- unlocked iphone 3g

I'm on T-mobile and have an unlocked iphone 3g. Something must have happened to it last night because it was working fine, then I picked it up to make a phone call and the white screen of death appeared.
i can receive calls, texts, etc, and all of the buttons work, but restarting it and plugging it into my computer doesn't make the screen come back at all. I can't update or restore it on iTunes because it's unlocked/jailbroken.
i've read that a lot of people have said they went to the genius bar and just got a connector cable reset, but my iphone is jailbroken and unlocked. will they help me at all if i bring it there? I'm not under apple-care and don't have a warranty or anything, but I've read so much that its a simple fix. TIA

You're going to be on your own as there is no support for hacked/jailbroken idevices from Apple or here.
You could take it to an Apple store, and they may help you however they will restore the iPhone to the most recent firmware (iOS4.1) and you will loose the jailbreak and the unlock giving you an AT&T iPhone.

White flare when unlocking iPhone via TouchID

Hi there...
I just noticed that every time I unlock my iPhone 5s via TouchID there is a white flare at the top left of the screen.
The flare is definitly software-related an not a hardware problem - as I am able to screenshot it using iOS.
I tried to reboot the phone, close all apps, disable and re-enable TouchID, change contrast and so on. I did not restore my iPhone yet - I hope there is another solution.
Anyway, does anyone maybe has a helping tip for me? My iPhone is currently running iOS 7.0.4 - the flare only displays when using TouchID. When unlocking via passcode or 'slide to unlock' it does not show.

Ok, I found the problem by myself and it seems to be a bug in the firmware:
If the 6th icon on the homescreen has a relatively long caption then the problem appears. I for myself have the reminders there BUT my phone is set to German so it says "Erinnerungen". I also tried it with the settings app which says "Einstellungen" in German.
I reported the bug 15533799.

Here's the scenario I'm referring to: my iphone is in my pocket with the screen locked and headphones plugged in. I toggle the mic switch and use voice control to place a phone call. On every other iphone I have owned, the screen stays locked. On the 5S, the screen unlocks when the call begins, making the end call button or other phone buttons able to be activated accidentally by my leg.
Why did they change this feature on the 5S? The iphone 5 stays locked in the same scenario. Just updated to 7.0.4 and it still hasn't been fixed. Is there a way to fix this issue?

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

Can't start camera from unlock screen in iphone 5c since ios8

Hi!
Some I can't start the camera from the unlock screen in iphone 5c since ios8 update.
It works a couple of hours after reboot, but the problem keeps turning back randomly.
After iOS8 update I also installed facebook, facebook messenger, linkedin and sync.me and configured skype.
The actions are:
Enabling the unlock screen and then sliding up the camera icon, it seems to appear a camera captured image but then the screen turns black or greyish (randomly) like the unlock screen background.
The problem doesn't happen from the control center panel locked or unlocked.
It isn't a big problem because there are simple workarounds, but it's annoying when it happens.

Hey there Galileo,
It sounds like your iPhone screen is solid white and you cannot do anything with it. Take a look at these steps from the following article about that kind of issue:
Get help with the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you see a solid color screen (black, white or blue)
Plug in your device to a power source. If you see the low-battery screen when you plug in, let your device charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad) before using it.
Reset your device while it's plugged in.
If resetting doesn’t fix the issue, restore your device.
If you still see the issue after you restore, contact Apple Support.

Not covered by warranty. If you make an appointment at an Apple store, you will be offered an out of warranty replacement. Cost is US $199 for an iPhone 4S.

Perhaps, the ribbon cable of display might have broken. See closer safely. If it is you will see small crack cross the cable. Then replace a new display carefully.

Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement.

AT&T SIM card in unlocked iPhone 4 brings up emergency screen

Okay, so I bought an unlocked iPhone 4 in Canada (where I live)... came down to Florida for a few weeks and decided to pop in an AT&T GoPhone SIM card (pay as you go) after reading/watching the how-to process online. I should also mention that I cut my Rogers SIM card down to a micro SIM manually and had much success, so I cut the AT&T card the very same way; however, when I insert at AT&T SIM card into my iPhone, it switches to the "Slide for Emergency" screen, wanting me to connect to iTunes. In all the videos and walkthroughs I've gone through, no one has had to deal with this problem. Anyone have an idea why this is happening?

No you won't. Unlocking the GSM side of a Sprint phone will let you use carriers in other countries but not domestic carriers.

I switched the usb port and did the whole recovery holding of the buttons ect... And it worked, the computer detected the phone and i was able to click restore. However, the computer says preparing iphone for restore and it is still doing the restarting thing where the apple fades away and then comes back like it is restarting. If i can somehow get past this i will be able to go back to factory settings and resolve my problem, but this is where i am stuck.
