White eyes? We look like ghostly demons....

When I take pictures inside or at night....instead of getting red eyes, we get white eyes.
The subjects have blue or green eyes.
Anyway or app to help this?

The iPhone has an LED flash which causes this.

IMac screen looked like old PC

When I turned my iMac (with 10.8.4) on this morning, the screen was black background and white letters. Looked like the old IBM PC's where you had to type all kind of cryptic messages to get the darn thing to work. (Hooray for the Mac mouse!)
Yes, I read the stuff but it meant nothing to me and gave me no hint of the problem or what to do. I hit my on button on back of my monitor, held it down until it went off, waited a short time, started it up again and it was ok.
What was that!??? Will it happen again? Is it a sign of an impending problem? What can/should, I do, if anything?

Hi Rose,
The iMac had for some reason restarted and gone into single user mode, or safe mode...to know why would take a listing of exactly what the messages said that were on the screen. This could have been associated with a power outage or surge, but usually iMacs just restart when that happens.
If it is booted correctly now and working properly, just keep an eye on it and if it happens again, write down exactly what the messages say and post them here. Someone can then help diagonse what is happening.

Snow Blizzard looks like "Eyes" on monitor.

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help. I'm new to Motion and am working on a project with the Snow Blizzard, Particle Emitter. On the computer monitor the effect works fine and appears as I have hoped. However, when I export the clip to a quicktime movie and bring it into Final Cut it looks like 2 eyes traversing the screen (kind of like the funny ones you've seen in cartoons in no light scenes).
The scene I'm creating is white text on a black background with the snow falling around. The monitor is NTSC, I am using a G5 dual with an Aja IO connection. I'm hoping to have this look like snow when I make this as a DVD and not eyes, is there someone who has experienced this and can help? Thanks!

Ok, I was able to answer this one myself. When I was creating the snow, the snow flakes were falling faster than they could draw on on a monitor. It worked on the computer because it was HD but on progressive scan monitors it can't draw quickly enough. So I slowed down the snowflakes as they fell. When I did this I needed to increase the life of the flakes as well, since they fell slower they died faster. This solved my problem.

White on Black Settings causes all pictures to look like negatives

Hi,
I was changing some settings on my iphone. When I changed the accessibility settings "white on black" --> On, the photos in my album started looking like negatives.. so did all the default wall papers.
When I switch back to the "white on black "-->Off , everything looks back normal.
*Settings -->General -->Accessibility "white on black" --> On*
Has anyone noticed this before?Any help appreciated.

The white on black setting can be toggled on and off to suit the situation, It should be used to alleviate strain on the eyes when reading lots of text, not to view pictures however. rather than only doing it for text it just makes everything negative. In Settings> general> accessibility you can change the function of the 'triple-click home' to white on black. that way you can change to white on black to view text by triple clicking the home button and then change back when viewing pictures. simple.

Some pictures in I-Photo seem to be corrupted. When I click on them, the photo comes up for a second, then the picture turns black with a white fuzzy circle inside it and what looks like an explanation mark. Some older, some newer, no common thread.

time to time (when I have a chance), I will go to Finder, bring up ALL Images and start going through them to label them (before I put a label on them, they are simply listed as 123 jpg, 124 jpg etc.).
You're damaging the Library doing that, and that's the cause of your problem.
Never, ever, ever use the All Images search and work on items in yoyr iPhoto Library. They must only be accessed via the iPhoto window.
Restroe from abck up or try rebuild the Library:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
Next: You need to learn how to use iPhoto. There's no need to be dragging things to the desktop:

You are wonderful! You are the best! I'm Stephania and I recently purchased a refurbished ipad2. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and updating & fixing it so my liking. The only thing that I couldn't correct were the photos that looked like negatives. Every photo, even on the internet, on apps, everywhere! I just couldn't figure out how to fix it. I contacted Apple Care and its too difficult to get in touch with them. I had looked through support before but didn't put in the right question. Well, today I got lucky. I did the two things you suggested and turning the "White On Black" off did the trick. I'm so happy! I had a feeling it was something simple and this is not even in the manual!

I had fits with the last link I posted. At first it worked fine, then all of a sudden, it quit working. I now have iCloud - iCal syncing, but iCal is read only. Not a real big deal since you can log onto iCloud using Safari and post a new event.
I finally gave up on Address Book because it kept creating multiple contacts, which if you tried to merge or delete the multiple contacts, the contacts were deleted. It also worked at first and then stopped working as it should.

I would either say that the iOS is correpted due to a software glitch or y have have a hardware problem like bad memory locations that are corrupting the iOS.
- Restore from backup via iTunes. This will install a fresh copy of the iOS. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.   This will elimate corruptin in the backup causing the problem.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My whites in PSE 13 look like a beige color.

I'm not entirely sure what is going on here, but the whites in my Photoshop Elements 13 look like a beige color. I'm not entirely sure of how to fix this, but it's definitely not my monitor because in other programs the whites are, well, white. If there is a fix for this I would be very grateful to know. Try changing your monitor profile from whatever it is to sRGB and see if the problem goes away. Sometimes a corrupt or incompatible display profile can cause odd colors in Adobe programs.

IPhone screen turned white- looks like screen damage but no damage has been done

I turned my phone off because my Whatsapp was being weird. And when I went to turn my phone back on my screen was white/grey with a couple of faded vertical lines. The corners of the screen look darker and it looks like screen damage. The phone is still on just the screen isnt working, I have tried restarting but a number of times but this hasnt worked. Had loads of problems with my iPhone, anyone had anything similar happen?

Give it a couple of gentle "spanks" across the back of it. If this doesn't solve it, back up and restore via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a new device and test. If the problem is solved, there is some kind of corruption in your backup file or maybe it's one of your apps causing problems. If it continues, take it to an Apple Store for evaluation of a possible hardware problem.
