White flash after title clips

I am getting a white flash on the screen after every title in my movie. It only shows on the DVD after burning from iDVD. White flashes do not show on screen in imovie.

I've had problems like this, but it showed during the preview in iMovie. My "solution" was to delete and then redo the titles.

  • White flashes between page clicks

Hello. I am having a problem with white flashes after I click on a menu item?  Chrome flashes.  Safari holds a white screen for about 1 second before loading the page.  Here is the link:  http://revolutionimages360.businesscatalyst.com/index.html  If someone can tell me how to upload the entire website for reverse engineering that would be great or tell me what I have done to create the flashes.  I am working on an iMac OSX Mountain Lion.  Using an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.  Thanks for your help.

  • White flash on screen before chapter plays

    Hi,
In a project in iDVD '08, when selecting a chapter from the chapter menu screen, there is a white flash before a clip plays. This happens whether a button transition is on or off.
Is there a way around this?
    Thanks!

Figured it out- this is an issue with the iDVD preview function. The white flash was not present on the disc image I burned.

  • White flashes in iDVD

I made a huge iMovie in HD--1:25 in length. When I first sent it to iDVD, the audio sync was off near the end. I was able to fix that, but now when I preview it in iDVD there are two places where the screen goes white for a second. When I check my iMovie, the white flashes are not there! The white flashes are not at transitions or chapter markers, but after a title put over a clip. I sent the iMovie to iDVD by dragging it. Anybody else experience this and have an explanation?

Sometimes the Preview function in iDVD doesn't work exactly right. Try Saving as a Disc Image from iDVD and then use Apple's DVD Player to see if the video functions correctly. "Save as Disc Image" creates a virtual DVD on your desktop that you can Copy to a physical disc using Roxio Toast or Apple's Disk Utility.

  • Cinema 4D to AE problem - random white flashes

Hi guys, just having a really random problem.
I've exported a cinema 4d file to AE so I can put the finishing touches on in ae.
When I scrub through the timeline in AE everything looks perfect.
However when I render it out there's these random white flashes that occur? I have no idea what's causing this.
I've tried placing black solids in the back, rendering out in different formats, nothing works.
When I export from C4D - QuickTime movie with the Animation codec is selected and the Alpha Channel, Straight Alpha and 24 bit dithering are selected by default (could these be causing it?). I dont want to experiment because it takes about 6 hours to render that simple animation...(wtf??)
Also in relation to the Composition project file, relative and include 3d data are selected along with After Effects as the target application.
here's an example of what's going on:
    http://vimeo.com/15378812
    I'm running:
    i7 950 3.06ghz
    24GB 1333mhz ram
    Nvidia Quadro FX 1700
    Raid 10 setup

I dont want to experiment because it takes about 6 hours to render that simple animation...(wtf??)
And your point? 3D rendering is an intense process, even more so when as per your example you use reflections and all that. I don't see a problem here, you are just inexperienced and lack a frame of reference from using more 3D programs, obviously.
When I export from C4D - QuickTime movie with the Animation codec is selected and the Alpha Channel, Straight Alpha and 24 bit dithering are selected by default (could these be causing it?).
Yes, it's stupid. Not for the settings but for the simple fact that when the machine were to crash halfway inbetween, you'd lose all your work because the clip would end up being damaged. likewise, you cannot interrupt and continue at a later point. It's simply a bad workflow. always use image sequences! That aside, it may still be a compression glitch, but this is between you and the effed up little app that C4D is these days...

  • White flash between FLVs

    Hello!
I am creating a virtual tour of an office with multiple video
segments. I want to let the user make choices after each segement.
I can choose the different flvs to play but I get a sudden white
flash as I start the next video. Any suggestions how to eliminate
    that?
    thanks,
    rich!

That is far too simple a solution, if only it was true. (It would also suggest that my eyesight is not up too much)
I've had this problem repeatedly, and even overlapping the video clips by a considerable distance doesn't always yield a positive result.
    http://www.aircontrolindustries.com/flash_problem.jpg
The two clips are one after another in the same layer, no space, and no, the video clips don't begin/end with a white frame.
*Important* When I let the movie play in Flash, there is no gap, it's only after exporting. And after exporting is a gap before the clip (even though it starts in frame 1) and between the clips, and it is showing what the background colour is set to.

  • Black screen with white flashing line on startup

    ~computer info~
    Mac OS X Version 10.6.7
2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    24 in. Montior
    Startup disk: Macintosh HD
    ~Partition info~
    FAT32 Windows XP
    ~issue~
Hello; I've recently encountered a problem with bootcamp that I can't find a solution to... Every time I start up the computer in boot camp, all I get is that black screen with the white flashing line. It comes up, goes to a plain black screen, then quickly comes up again. It never stops, either. I've let it run, and it won't finish.
I've had the partition for MONTHS now, and nothing like this has happened. I've had it since I upgraded to Snow Leopard awhile back, and needed to re-partition the drive. I literally had been using it the day before it happened, and the only thing that happened was that I got that "Windows Security 2011" malware, but I got rid of it fully (As I've gotten it 3 times this month). The other two times I got it, it didn't do anything. I fixed it, and went on with life. But is it possible that it broke something in the partitions inner files this time?
I ran disk utility, and it said the partition was broken. After verifying it and confirming this, I did "Repair Drive", as it allowed me to. It finished with no errors and said it completed, so I tried to go back into the partition, but it gave me the same results.
To be honest, most of my stuff is on my External Harddrive, so re-doing the partition is only going to be time used to me. But I still DO have things on there, and it'd be a pain to transfer them back and forth between the Mac and Windows partitions... I'd really like to know if there's anyway to fix this, or if it's just going to fall back to me re-partitioning the drive...
Thanks for the help in advance.

That blinking line is a "cursor."  It's only supposed to show for a second or two as your iMac switches to and then starts Windows.  But as you indicate here, it's not getting past the cursor..
Disk Utility can repair FAT volumes, but it cannot correct issues caused by corrupted items which, if the volume was repaired, there may be some.
Since we are dealing with a Windows boot partition, it's entirely possible that the repairs inadvertently corrupted the data Windows needs to start and run.  It's also posible that Mac OS, in fixing the Boot Camp volume, overwrote the existing boot record in the Windows partition with a generic, though non-bootable version.
Windows' own CHKDSK should have been used to make the repairs rather than the OS X Disk Utility, which would have avoided this worst-case scenario in data recovery.  CHKDSK has a special version of itself on the Windows disc, which may be accesed by using the Windiws Recovery Consile upon pressing R during the "Welcome to Setup" screen.
Though it appears ftom my position here that you will need to reinstall XP, it may yet be possible to recover data that hasn't been copied to the external HDD.  For this task, I'd like to recommend that you start up in Mac OS for the time being, and pull any new or changed items from the Boot Camp volume except for installed software; the latter are nearly impossible to transport with reasonable accuracy, and should instead be reinstalled.
Once you have what you need, format your Boot Camp volume and reinstall Windows, this time selecting NTFS as your filesystem.  NTFS is the preferred option for Windows in general, thiaks to its innate file access controls as well as the ability to compress or encrypt data "on the fly."  NTFS can be read by Mac OS X, but not written from it, thus NTFS volumes cannot be altered except by Windows itself..  But it is also a requirement if you plan to upgrade your unit using Windows 7 in future.

  • White screen after Apple charging screen, only loads OS X in Safe Boot

Well, since yesterday, I have been annoyed because of a problem that my iMac has:
On booting up the Mac, it does the chime and appears the Apple logo and its loading bar, and begins loading.
    Everything's ok, isn't it?
Well, problem is about to happen... You know that when it's loading, at some time the screen will become white, and after a second or two, cursor may appear and so is the loading bar.
So... it doesn't appear, and freezes screen at the white screen.
There's a case when you are able to make it work: Safe Mode.
    Things I tried:
Entering Verbose Mode on load: Just before the white screen, nearly 50 lines of BUG appears.
Entering recovery console mode (cmd + s), I thought putting fsck -fy and reboot may solve this problem. But nope.
    Resetting NVRAM and SMC.
Definitely the only thing it works is safe mode, but in this mode, forget about Flash, NTFS and sound at all .
So, here's some information about my Mac (obviously the some you will need, not the serial, tsk):
I was thinking that Radeon is guilty of this mess, but... What should I try now?

If you have all your data backed up somewhere then you aren't going to lose anything by re-installed Yosemite.
If anything you will have a clean slicker system that you can restore using your backed up data.
If the installation fails at any point it could indicate some faulty hardware.
    Good Luck!

  • Kdenlive not rendering with title clip

After doing a system upgrade kdelive will no longer render my project, which rendered fine before the upgrade. After I click render, it either gets stuck in "waiting" or it gives an error saying that rendering crashed. If I turn off the title clip, rendering proceeds as normal. Looking around I saw some people with similar problems fixing it by running kdenlive as root, but in my case that didn't solve anything. Anyone have any ideas?
The kdenlive profile I'm using is HD 1080p 59.94fps and I'm trying to render an H.264 video (although trying other formats encounters the same problem).
    Some relevant package info:
    [root@labby ~]# pacman -Qs kdenlive
    local/kdenlive 0.9.6-2
A non-linear video editor for Linux
    [root@labby ~]#
    [root@labby ~]# pacman -Qs ffmpeg
    local/ffmpeg 1:2.1.1-1
Complete and free Internet live audio and video broadcasting solution
    local/gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 0.10.13-1 (gstreamer0.10-plugins)
    Gstreamer FFMpeg Plugin
    [root@labby ~]#
    [root@labby ~]# pacman -Qs mlt
    local/mlt 0.9.0-5
    An open source multimedia framework

    Have you upgraded the system?
I had this same problem until yesterday, only kdenlive did not render at all, with or without title clip. Googling about it, I think it was some kind of conflict with mlt and opencv. Opening kdenlive as root did not work for me. I initially downgraded to the previous version of mlt (0.9.0.1 if I remember cforrectly); with that I could render, but only without title clips present. Solution came with last update of opencv (and re-upgrade of mlt).
Also, while I was looking up this problem, I read about a similar bug being related to the sound, and installed ladspa (just in case all the previous doesn't completely solve your problem).

  • Removing white space after Spry Menu Bar...

I having a bit of a problem trying to remove a little white space after my Spry Menu bar, when I set it to 8.6em theres a little white space, when I set the width to 9.7 it goes too far, I changed it to 137 pixels, however in Firefox and IE, it messes up the layout.
Also what do you do if there a different browsers, where some layouts are out of place, do you need to detect the browser with JS?

  • Removing excess from a title clip

I added a scrolling title clip to my project and used Clip Adjustments to make it 30 seconds, which made the scroll roll at a comfortable pace for readability. The problem is that iMovie added an extra 12 seconds of blank title screen after the last word scrolls off screen. How do I remove the extra time without affecting the scroll speed? Simply dragging the end of the clip shortens it, but it also speeds it up to an unreadable speed. If cropping is the answer, how do I do it? The Help dialog didn't help me. I'm not very adept in the use of iMovie, so please try to help me in simple language!

I found the answer to my question and many more at http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/imovie_09stone.html#markers

  • Mac OS 10.5 - White flash on fullscreen

    Hi all,
When fullscreening any flash video, be it from hulu, Youtube, whatever there is a 5 or 6 second white flash before the video will go full screen. This is on Firefox 3, 3.5b3, and Safari. The problem went away after I did an Archive and Install and came back a few days later when I installed Flash Player 10 so I could view a 10 only application.
Is this a known bug? Is there any way to make it stop, or do I have to do another reinstall and not upgrade this time to get rid of it?
Running the 2.0 unibody Macbook fully patched with 2 GB ram.
    Thanks!

Hello, were you able to resolve this issue? I'm having the same problem on OS 10.4 with Anyconnect 2.2.
    Thanks

  • FCE crashes when creating Title clip

Every time I try to create a title clip, the program crashes. I can select the text generator I want, but when I click the Control tab to enter the text, the spinning beach ball shows up and the program crashes. It does this no matter which text generator I choose.
I've tried restarting my computer, repairing permissions, and trashing preferences as described in one similar case (com.apple.FinalCutExpress.plist, Final Cut Express Obj Cache, Final Cut Express Prof Cache.fcpch); but it made no difference.
FYI: I just purchase FCE and installed it. Software Update had trouble updating it to 4.0.1, and I had to reinstall the program to get the update to run correctly. I don't know if that's relevant to my problem.
Without the ability to create title clips, I will be unable to use Final Cut Express; so this is not a feature I can work around.

I worked with an Apple Genius to isolate font problems. We discovered it worked fine when no user fonts were enabled, so it seemed I just needed to figure out which user-installed font was corrupt. Thus I started with all my user fonts disabled and began enabling a few at a time and testing to see when the problem resurfaced. After painstakingly testing all my fonts, I have been unable to replicate the problem. You read that right: I've re-enabled ALL my user fonts, and the problem is gone.
I don't know if the crashing will resurface, as it makes no sense that the process of shutting fonts off and turning them back on should fix anything. But for now, that appears to have done the trick.

  • Black flash after transitions

Using iMovie 6, sometimes there is a black flash at the end of a transition (working with photos). Doesn't happen on every transition and doesn't happen all the time. I work in an elementary school computer lab and it happens randomly on all 30 computers. (iMacs 10.5.8) I just put together a movie with about 30 photos using the same transition (cross dissolve) between each one and it flashes on about half of them. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem but with white flashes. Somebody on this forum helped me solve it...
First remove the affected transition. Then highlight a different clip (not the beginning or ending clip betweeen which you want the transition). Then drag the desired transition from the pane between the two clips. The transition re-renders and most times this clears up the offending white or black flashes.
But then it stopped being a problem for some reason - maybe the last update of version 6?
