White flash on a dark background

When a page loads on the internet and i am using a dark
background..., before the page loads a white area, which will be
filled by the flash content, appears. How do I solve this
problem?????

It will do nothing for the FOUC, though.

  • Need to remove white background for use on dark background

    Hi,
I have a stock image of some people on a white background. I need to remove the white background so I can use the image in a project with a dark background. However when I put the edited subjects on the dark background, the people all have noticeable white borders around them which I assume means I am not getting all of the white out, especially around the hair. Can anyone recommend the best way of overcoming this? Thanks.

Can anyone recommend the best way of overcoming this? Thanks.
There is no single "best way". It all depends on the resolution of the image and its other quality properties. The - theoretically - cleanest and less workladden method would be to extract the luminance e.g. by converting to Lab mode and selecting the L channel, then adjust the channel range. However, if the foreground also contains lots of bright colors, clipping back the channel black and white points would also affect them and you'd need more adjustments to compensate or work with teh refine mask tool a lot to feather edges just like you would with a conventioan layer mask created from an interactive selection. On top of that you may also still need to apply all teh other dirty tricks like using a dark inner glow to cover up remaining bright areas or fill the outside with a dark color... Really depends, but you should be prepared to invest some time. Using longwinded manual painting and cloning may even be required...

  • How to change pdf (with dark background) so it print with white background and dark text??

I have lots of nice presentations I am studying- the problem is most of them were made in ppt with dark backgrounds and white text then converted to pdf files. So when I print them, I get a dark (black) background with white text- very annoying. Is there anyway to get it to print with a light (or no) backround with black text? This is much easier for note taking/etc. I have adobe acrobat professional.

Use the rectangle shape tool. Draw a rectangle over the entire frame. In the shape tab, color it whatever you want. Export your TGA sequence.
    Andy
PS: But if you place a colored bkg in your motion project that you will effectively have no alpha channel. Are they referencing the TGA's alpha?

  • OSX.6 change filename color black to white on dark background

OSX.6 change filename color black to white on dark background

Thanks for that, but what I asking was how to change the OSX default filename font color from black to white, so it becomes more easily visible when dark backgrounds are selected in icon view, eg the same way the Desktop default does, except when files are not on the Desktop.
or to put it another way:
if anyone's worked out an easy way to how to change the color of the font itself, rather than changing the folder/filename background using File, Label, Color, eg because light colors may already be in use as Labels, and so mean something else.
or as explored in this archived discussion:
How to change the color of the file name Font in Finder window and Desktop

Perhaps this is easy for programmers but not for users???

  • IPhone 5 white flashing when on camera in the dark?

iPhone 5 when I go on camera in the dark I notice a white flashing dot above the option button. When I slide it on to video or face time camera it goes? Help!!!

The flash on a smartphone camera is tiny. It only lights up a very small area right in front of the camera. It won't light up the whole scene.
Have you seen the size of the flash on a professional camera? Even they can't light a whole scene in the dark.
Fact is, a smartphone camera is not capable of taking good photos in the dark, even with the flash.
You'll need to buy and learn how to use a professional, dedicated SLR camera to be able to take good photos in the dark. It is not easy.

  • Safari white flash before loading a darker color page

    Hi,
I wonder if this can be improved: my website's pages (in frames) have a grey background set and an additional grey image on top. In Netscape-Seamonkey, they load fine in grey color. In Safari however, there is an annoying white flash between two pages. Is there something that can be done about it? Thanks!
    Paul

    >So, when you load the pages directly ... no white flash
I maintain actually another website, built on the same frame set (www.schilliger.com). It has only about 30 pages and they are mostly accessed by links located on the left frame. Once the first page has loaded with a white flash, then further browsing is without this annoying effect. Why it persists on the photo website is a mystery...
    >Or, you might decide that its not worth it, and not enough users will see this as to make it a priority issue (as it initially appears to be Safari-only).
It's been this way for years probably. I seldom use Safari so I did not notice until the other day. And it's quite possible that I already asked the same question a few years ago but did not find a solution... Not a big issue in any case.
Thanks to All for the brain storming around this question!

  • White Border on black shape against dark background

I used Photoshop CS3 to create a coupe of boxes in black, nothing fancy, just pure black boxes as for background stuff for a web page, and then saved it for Web through photoshop whereby the html and images are created. Opening the html in dreamweaver appears ok until i add a dark background and white "strokes" appear on my boxes drawn using PS. Whats wrong?
    Pls see attached screen grabs.

Antialaiasing artifacts. It's the way how PS treats objects vs. filled layers. To avoid them, make sure your content extends beyond the edges of the slice/ document, use solid fill layers from the start or match the global background color (which will be used to fill areas on any format that does not support transparencies) to the foreground colors.

  • Flash Web Gallery Loader Background

    Greetings all,
I am placing a LR Flash Web Gallery in an inline frame of an html page. The page background is 75% Gray.
When the page is displayed, the loader swf appears to have a white background, causing an annoying white flash on the page until the slideshow loads.
Once the slideshow loads, the page looks fine.
I've played with the .xml files, but haven't found a tag that affects that background yet. Anybody experience the same problem?
    Many thanks for your help,
    Jeff

    Hi John,
Thanks for the info and the link...
I read your blog and instead of using an inline frame, embedded the sideshow directly in my page.
Works fine, except now I have to "click to activate control" (Windows curse), which apparently was overridden by a script in LR's generated index.html page.
However, thanks to your suggestions, I used my own overide scripts and embedded the page anyway. A much more elegant solution.
Great blog and thanks for the inspiration.
    Best regards,
    Jeff

  • Oracle forms display bright white flash when transitioning between forms.

We recently migrated an application from Oracle Application Server to WebLogic and we are noticing that in the WebLogic environment while transitioning between forms there is a quick bright white flash that has caused several complaints. We are not sure if this is related to a performance issue which may be preventing the form from painting quick enough or if there is a configuration problem somewhere. Has anyone else seen this behavior?
We are running WebLogic Server Version 10.3, Fusion Middleware 11gR1, and Oracle DB 11.2

Unfortunately we don't have any errors to work off of. The application works fine, it's just that their is a very short delay when transitioning from one form to another and during that transition the whole form turns bright white which has caused users to complain that it could cause an epileptic seizure. I assumed maybe there was some performance tuning/caching that could be done to make it so it loaded quicker. Our DBA team recieved a response from Oracle support stating that although the forms themselves are relatively unchanged, due to the underlying software changes in 11g we are to expect some differences compared to previous versions. We have since set background in formsweb.cfg to use a light grey image which seems to be more acceptable for our users.

  • Ink wasting because pages with dark backgrounds still print despite background print checkbox being unchecked

I am visually handicapped and have Firefox set up in the colors to force black background white text. My computer is set up like that too by uncheckable the allow web pages to choose colors and checking use system colors. If go to print a page with a dark background or use the color setting mentioned above. My pages print with the dark background despite the Print background box being unchecked. This problem cropped up as of Firefox 4.x.

That could be a bug, or it could be by design. I'm not sure.
Studying a workaround and will report back...
Okay, here's the workaround. I think it's actually better looking than the built-in solution, but you can be the judge. (On further thought, maybe it's a bit extreme...)
First, you need an add-on named Stylish. Stylish lets you restyle any page. You can install it here (you will have to restart Firefox and enable the add-on if it isn't automatically enabled): [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/ Stylish :: Add-ons for Firefox].
Second, you need a "userstyle" named [http://userstyles.org/styles/48319/browser-and-page-white-on-black Browser and Page - White On Black]. As the name suggests, the text is white and the background is black, but because it is applied as a style, you can turn off the black background in Page Setup. (I tested it today, but I can't vouch for it being the same if it has been updated.)
Check the box under Tools > Options > Content > Colors to let sites set their own styles, then check some pages (and Print Preview) to see how you like it.
    Does it work for you?

  • White flash between FLVs

    Hello!
I am creating a virtual tour of an office with multiple video
segments. I want to let the user make choices after each segement.
I can choose the different flvs to play but I get a sudden white
flash as I start the next video. Any suggestions how to eliminate
    that?
    thanks,
    rich!

That is far too simple a solution, if only it was true. (It would also suggest that my eyesight is not up too much)
I've had this problem repeatedly, and even overlapping the video clips by a considerable distance doesn't always yield a positive result.
    http://www.aircontrolindustries.com/flash_problem.jpg
The two clips are one after another in the same layer, no space, and no, the video clips don't begin/end with a white frame.
*Important* When I let the movie play in Flash, there is no gap, it's only after exporting. And after exporting is a gap before the clip (even though it starts in frame 1) and between the clips, and it is showing what the background colour is set to.

  • White flash from spry menu tab

Hi, I have an annoying problem with the spry menu tab on the
    site
www.ISUCKAT_GOLF.net (without the dash) As you scroll down
the spry menu tab when you reach a tab that expands off to the
right you get an annoying but brief white flash. If you went to
"fun stuff' on the tab for instance then scrolled down to "That
really tees me...", when you scroll over it it expands but also
flashes white below for a millisecond. All the tabs that expand do
this. Any settings that can be changed to prevent this?
    Thanks very much!

  • White flash appers only ln html

White flash of movie appears against gray background of page.
I've set the background color in the document setting to the same
gray color as the html page but I still get a momentary flash.
Movie itself is a transparent white gif (text), and it appears
without a white flash in the Preview mode.
What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

    "spoti";
Add a bgcolor parameter/attribute which matches the
    background color
of your flash document to your object & embed tags. Note
    that flash publish
will add a bgcolor parameter/attribute matching your flash
    document
background color to the html code it generates if you wish to

  • OAM auto-play white flash

    Hi there,
I'm creating a folio with several pages. Theses pages have a banner-like animation simulating a carriage travelling through a night scenario at the bottom of each page. Also, animations are somewhat linked to simulate a panorama, so the carriage "moves" from one page to another until it reaches a castle, at the end of the chapter.
When I add the OAM file into InDesign I choose the "Auto-play" option in the Folio Overlay panel, so the animation will autoplay when I reach the page. Everything's fine until I preview the folio: there's a white flash at the beginning of the animation! Is there any way of removing the white flash? It's really annoying!
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Elaine
I posted on a couple of these threads today, forgot about this one. I'm testing on device, and I think I've sorted it. I created a transparent stage, even if it is covered with graphics, and then in DPS select transparent background as well, this stopped the white flash for me today!
Whilst you are here could you check out my post regarding OAM file from EA not including a JS folder, neither publishing to the web folder or OAM seem to include the JS folder, but at least with the web folder the JS folder can be manually copied in so it works, unlike the OAM
    Cheers
