White flashes between slides?

I created a presentation with audio that plays beautifully between slides. But when I publish, there are flashes of white between slides. I understand the slide has to load, but how can I make it load with a black slide instead of a white one? (Or a purple one if I want it to match the rest of my presentation)?

Are you playing it locally or over any server/LMS when the problem occurs?
Does it happen on all the slides or just the slides with some video on them?
Please check if the value of Preloader (Preferences-- Start and End) is set to be 100.

Sometimes we find that the actual blank slide background will ever so briefly appear and cause that "flash".Is this by chance a "full motion" type of Captivate where you see this happening?
Things you might try:
Edit the slide properties and configure a different background color. Perhaps black?
Grab an image of the slide and configure the image as the slide background.

White flash between FLVs

Hello!
I am creating a virtual tour of an office with multiple video
segments. I want to let the user make choices after each segement.
I can choose the different flvs to play but I get a sudden white
flash as I start the next video. Any suggestions how to eliminate
that?

That is far too simple a solution, if only it was true. (It would also suggest that my eyesight is not up too much)
I've had this problem repeatedly, and even overlapping the video clips by a considerable distance doesn't always yield a positive result.

The two clips are one after another in the same layer, no space, and no, the video clips don't begin/end with a white frame.
*Important* When I let the movie play in Flash, there is no gap, it's only after exporting. And after exporting is a gap before the clip (even though it starts in frame 1) and between the clips, and it is showing what the background colour is set to.

Troubleshooting blinding white flash between webpages

I'm receiving a burst of blinding white over the entire screen before my home page loads. I'm using a flash banner scroller on the home page so I suspect it may be the culpret since my other pages do not start off with this quick white flash. It is blinding!!! I'm sure this is a rookie mistake, but the shoe fits. I'm using CS4 for both Dreamweaver and Flash.

If there's no link provided then it's left to be your problem since no one else can see the page in question and evaluate what the supposed problem may be.

White flashes between page clicks

Hello. I am having a problem with white flashes after I click on a menu item? Chrome flashes. Safari holds a white screen for about 1 second before loading the page. Safari white flash before loading a darker color page

Hi,
I wonder if this can be improved: my website's pages (in frames) have a grey background set and an additional grey image on top. In Netscape-Seamonkey, they load fine in grey color. In Safari however, there is an annoying white flash between two pages. Is there something that can be done about it? Thanks!

I maintain actually another website, built on the same frame set (www.schilliger.com). It has only about 30 pages and they are mostly accessed by links located on the left frame. Once the first page has loaded with a white flash, then further browsing is without this annoying effect. Why it persists on the photo website is a mystery...

It's been this way for years probably. I seldom use Safari so I did not notice until the other day. And it's quite possible that I already asked the same question a few years ago but did not find a solution... Not a big issue in any case.

White Flash

When viewing sites using URL-Keeper mechanism I get a white flash between every page, only with Safari - Firefox is normal. I have tried 2.04 and 3.03b same result.
The flash is an intermediate white page or white state while loading? Only happening with Safari.

I have changed the encoding preferences in DVDSP, with no change.
I will try to change them like you said ever so slightly to see how that goes.
Even change the rendering option to 'Software' from 'Hardware'.
Boy did Software take forever & made no difference.
In the meantime I don't use the video thumbnails when I use the menu transitions.

White flash on page transitions

The title kind of says it all. Between any two page transitions on
www.andybertaut.com there's an ugly white flash that only seems to be appearing in IE11. (I checked IE8 and chrome). I googled it and found two possible solutions (a link to an unused js file, which I don't have, each of my js files are in use,
and the need for an IF statement to cover page transition smoothening for IE:

Neither one worked. I went all through my css and can't find anything. Some of the pages are really simple, with only a small amount of html and css in them, so I'm not sure what could be awry in them.

It would be hard to help you unless we can reproduce your results. I can't. I see nothing on IE11 that I don't see on another browser. There is no white flash between page transitions.

Oracle forms display bright white flash when transitioning between forms.

We recently migrated an application from Oracle Application Server to WebLogic and we are noticing that in the WebLogic environment while transitioning between forms there is a quick bright white flash that has caused several complaints. We are not sure if this is related to a performance issue which may be preventing the form from painting quick enough or if there is a configuration problem somewhere. Has anyone else seen this behavior?
We are running WebLogic Server Version 10.3, Fusion Middleware 11gR1, and Oracle DB 11.2

Unfortunately we don't have any errors to work off of. The application works fine, it's just that their is a very short delay when transitioning from one form to another and during that transition the whole form turns bright white which has caused users to complain that it could cause an epileptic seizure. I assumed maybe there was some performance tuning/caching that could be done to make it so it loaded quicker. Our DBA team recieved a response from Oracle support stating that although the forms themselves are relatively unchanged, due to the underlying software changes in 11g we are to expect some differences compared to previous versions. We have since set background in formsweb.cfg to use a light grey image which seems to be more acceptable for our users.

Flv "white flash" in between videos playing when button pressed.

I am currently working on a catalyst project whereby the buttons pressed play different sections of an animation. My problem is that the animation flashes white for a split second in between pressing the button and the video playing. Does anyonyone know how to eliminate this white flash? Would really appreciate any help,

Yes to follow up Ben, I'm experiencing the exact same problems as him. I changed browser to Firefox 3.0.11 a couple of months ago and hence downloaded the Flash plugin for Firefox. I noticed the issue straight away in Youtube, but not on other sites. As I attributed the problem to Firefox, I then downloaded Opera 9.64 - but experienced the same problem. This led me to believe the issue was the Flash plugin, as both browsers are served by the same Adobe plugin for 'alternative browsers' to IE.
I then tried IE6 again in youtube and it didn't have the problem on standard view, however the problem was (and still is) occurring in full screen view. I'm nearly 100% sure this problem didn't occur before I downloaded the Flash plugin for Firefox / Opera. Regardless of whether that is the issue, the problem was definitely not happening on my system in IE6 earlier this year.
As Ben said, my computer is fairly old but well managed and up to date. OS is Windows 2000 SP4, system is AMD Athlon 900 (slot A), 512 Mb RAM, 16Mb Voodoo 3 graphics, m/board MSI MS-6191.
I've also tried removing the Flash plugin for Firefox/Opera and for IE6 and reinstalling it but had no joy there either. I would try an updated version of IE too but IE6 is the last version compatible with Win 2k.

IOS Beta 7 OTA, iPhone 3GS stuck flashing between Apple Logo and a white screen

After installing iOS Beta 7 OTA, iPhone 3GS is stuck flashing between Apple Logo and a white screen. I can turn the phone off by holding the top button. But the phone boots straight to the flashing situation. It doesn't appear in iTunes, and I haven't succeeded in putting into recovery mode.

for sure, the problem is not related to OTA update
this is my recipe, even if i think that the behaviour is a kind of random and all the recipes given here do not really help
- absolutely needed: cross your finger before running the procedure
- leave the battery run flat
- open itunes
- connect usb
- when it starts booting, press home and keep it pressed
- if it loops (it will ...), try to turn it off with power button while keeping home
- after a few tries, it will not reboot and it will go into recovery mode BUT WITH SCREEN BLACK (you see it is in recovery mode in itunes)
- upload ios5b7
anyway ... this time it was a bad release by apple ...
and i think this thread will become very "popular" in the next days

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

Slide to Unlock - White Flash

Love my iPhone 4 on Verizon...however I've noticed one thing that is somewhat odd. Once in a while (not every time) I've noticed that after I slide to unlock...there is a quick white flash. It happens maybe 1 out of 10 times. I did some searching and there isn't much out there on this topic. One other post I believe with no real resolution. I'm curious...if anyone knows...is this hardware or software? If it's hardware should I take it into the Apple Store? Any advice would help. Thanks.

Did it start happening after installing an app (flashlight app?) or changing a setting?
Do you have a case on your iPhone? A case could interfere with the ambient light sensor.
You can also try restarting or restoring the iPhone or comparing it to one at the Genius Bar

White gaps between regular and video slides

I have just created an adobe captivate video. There is a white gap between regular slides and animation slides. It usually lasts for about 2 seconds. Because of this my audio and video are no longer synced. This gradually gets worse as the presentation continues. Does anybody know how to get rid of these white gaps? I'm using version 3. The issue is demonstrated in the following video:

Ipod won't turn on, flashes between apple logo and white screen

Our ipod touch won't turn on, it has been charged, but doesn't register anything on the screen. All that happens is it flashes between the apple logo and a white screen. My son says it's not been dropped/wet etc. Any suggestions?

Tried it, it still shows the apple logo. While holding home and power it flashed to a back screen then the apple logo popped back up....
