White Iphone 3G absorbing colors?

I baby my phone and aside from the 2 mm crack/scratch/line across the top by the standby button this color absorption thing is bad!
I use to use a white blackberry pearl and I would use the heck out of it and leave it everywhere and there is no stain in sight.
WIth the 16gb Iphone, i have dark blue stains (from my jeans perhaps?) already! It's like color transfer as if the casing was like patent leather!

Sweet this could be used entirely to our advantage. Those with White iPhones could have any color we want.
Soak it in a little food coloring and POW, red, green, blue, purple, etc.
EDIT: because so many people are clueless, obviously you would take the back off before you did this, and not soak the whole phone.

Has anyone else noticed that colors are washed out on screen on the white iPhone?

Comparing the white and black iPhone 4 side by side, I noticed that colors on the screen are washed out on the white iPhone. This is clearly noticable when clicking on messages and looking at the top where the word messages appears in blue/gray color. When looking at this on the white iPhone, its more white than blue/gray.

It could be just the contrast in color with your eyes looking at the white iphone vs the black one. Your eyes can sometimes play tricks on you. But in all seriousness, iPhone screens vary in color temperatures. I have seen two black iphones 4s that looked like they had different displays in them.

Can I swap out defected iPhone with different color one

In november my friend purchased me a black iphone 5. It was awesome with No problems. Recently however, I have been experiencing a very short battery life. After a day of light usage sometimes my battery will dip below 5 percent. Now, I already tried disableing bluetooth, turning off data and wifi when not being used, and even turned down the brightness to half way. Because the iphone is certainly defected, when I exchange the iphone is there a possibility to swap it out with one of a different color, as the black one devolops scratches along the champhered edge like crazy, also ios 7 looks wayyyyyy better with the white iphone, it just blends into the device itself. Anyways, thanks for any responses

No. Apple will replace your iPhone only with an indentical model. If you want your iPhone to be a different color, consider a skin; those are available in a multitude of colors and patterns.
And just FYI, there are many causes of short battery life other than a hardware defect. Apps such as the Facebook app can use a lot of battery. While you may indeed have a failing battery, you may want to try restoring your iPhone to factory settings and running with just the Apple apps for a while and then evaluate your battery life before concluding that there's a hardware problem.

White iPhone 4 not available = NONSENSE

So is it just me? Ive noticed everyone seems to be ok will Apple not releasing the white Iphone 4 due to "complications" manufacturing it. However, i dont understand how its so difficult to make the SAME EXACT phone just in a different color.
Steve Jobs is stating that there are software problems. How is that so? Its like make a car only giving it a different paint color....??

I think its a scam to get people to want to re-buy a iPhone after they have passed their 30 return period just so that they can have the white one or its a unstated strategy to try and see how many issues they're going to have with the iPhone 4 before they invest in the different colors.

actually creating a white iphone is a diffrent process. the body must be painted white, and it must be in the correct thickness and all that jazz so that no imperfections are visible, and once they're done painting it, they have to apply the glass via glue, and if the paint isn't in the right thickness its won't seal with the glass. i remember reading it somewhere, i'll hunt for the link.

No. Apple will only replace your iPhone with an identical model. If you want your iPhone a different color, consider a case or a skin in whatever pattern or color you like.

Depending on where the iPhone was purchased, you may be able to
return it for $/credit and then buy the color you prefer. If past the
return window the seller allows, use a case like Briansyddall suggested above.

This means your logic board was made for a black iPhone 5, and was switched into a white iPhone 5 case, and you were given the white iPhone 5 box too. It will not affect the function of the iPhone in any way.

Have people found the white iphone to have a worse viewing experience because of a lack of contrast that makes the items not seem as sharp or because the white is more distracting than a black background? These are some rumors I heard but I want to hear more from people who actually have them. Also, does it get dirtier more easily? The color is actually underneath the glass on the front and back, so it won't make a difference as far as dirt. The edges are white plastic, but the edges are mostly covered by the metal antennae, so even if they were more attractive to dirt, you wouldn't notice.
As far as viewing, I've seen no difference. The screen itself gets very bright if you want it to, but obviously you won't get a lot of light reflected off the white surface if you aren't shining a light directly at it (which you wouldn't do with a white or black iPhone I hope). Of course, in any average lighting scenario, the white surface isn't going to be glaringly bright; in a dark room, any unlit surface is also dark.
I'm very happy with my white iPhone. As far as I can tell, the difference is only a matter of preference. All the hardware and function is the same.

This is correct. It is the proximity sensor for the iPhone. The black one has the sensor in the same spot, it is just difficult to see because of the dark coloring.

White iPhone 4: "Warm" Yellow LCD Tint - Any owners out there with "blue" tint?

I just picked up a white GSM iPhone 4 the other day and, upon comparing it to my black GSM iPhone 4 (purchased in June), I noticed that the white iPhone 4's LCD is noticably (and I would say drastically) yellower or "warmer" than that of the black iPhone. I would say the black iPhone's LCD is noticably whiter, bluer, brighter or "cooler" than that of the white iPhone. I definitely prefer the cooler blue LCD to the warmer yellow; the color seems to pop more and whites actually look white, whereas the yellow looks dim and washed out.
Just curious if any other white iPhone owners received units with the blue tint or if they are all yellow. All the pictures in online hands-on reviews of the white unit seemed to have the yellow tint. I've also heard (on iLounge as well as other speculation) that the yellow tint was/is present on the black CMDA iPhones as well and that the yellow is simply a new panel manufacturer that Apple is now sourcing from and that there's nothing that can be done about it - all new phone will have the yellow tint. Hopefully that's not the case.
So, if anyone out there has the cooler LCD on a white unit, please let me know, as if they exist I would love to visit the Apple store to swap mine out for one. The tint is hard to notice unless you have two units side by side, one yellow, one blue. Even a 3GS side by side with a white 4 shows the disparity.

i had the same yellow tint and the problem is very easy to solve , first i cant understand why apple are so useless when it comes to its ios firmware options , so many iphones have been returned to apple because of this problem and a simple tint adjuster would solve this problem .
ok onto how to solve this problem .
first you need to do something apple hate and always block with every upgrade , jailbreaking
simply jailbreak any iphone ( a temporary messure if you do not want this on your phone )
as soon as your iphone is jailbroken install " color profiles "
when you open this option you see colour temperature , adjust it to the tint you like from very warm to very cold ( blueish tone ) as soon as you have the correct tone you like you can then uninstall the jailbreak by reseting the iphone firmware ,
when your iphone has finished restoring you will see the tone you chose is still there and you can finally enjoy your iphone as you want to
why cant apple include this option in the brightness settings is a mystery or plain dumb , apart from letting users set the tone correctly for thier use it would save apple 1000's with all the returns to the apple store.
if an apple ios firmware developer is reading this then try and knock some sense into the apple's firmware dev team , hopefully before the ipad 3 comes out ( as they are bound to screw that one up tone wise again )
i myself find it a joke and poor on apples side to have to jailbreak my iphone to get the screen to display the correct screen tone .

White iPhone 4 yellow display?

i wonder is it me or other white iphone 4 users have the same issue about the colour of the display. when i compared my iphone 4 white with my brother's black iphone 4. its completely different in its colour temperature. My brother's colour display is more to blue-ish compared to mine. in a warmer way. much more yellow-ish than it. and i find the displays sets that the apple uses are all in blue-ish colours. any idea?

White iphone 4? or 4.3.3 firmware?

my battery ***** i watch it drain during the day even if im just texting.
is it because i have the white iphone 4? or is it the 4.3.3 firmware and how can i fix this?
someone at work has the black iphone 4 and can listen to music, play games, and surf the web with the
battery at the end of the day with more than 50% battery left... i can not.. it dropped 10 percent while
just texting after un plugging it.. i've tried doing the mail thing.. doesnt work..and this is my second white iphone 4

Yes... the white iPhone requires twice as much power to perform the same tasks as the black iPhone.
Simple reason is because it's so busy screaming "LOOK AT ME, I AM SPECIAL. I AM THE WHITE IPHONE!".
Seriously though... the ONLY difference between the white and black iPhone is the color of the device.
There are many reasons why one device will last longer than another. These could include usage, mail sync settings, whether 3G/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth are left on at all times, and signal strength.
If you really feel you have a battery issue, as gdgmacguy suggested, schedule an appointment with the local genius bar and have them check it out.

White iphone 4 GPS issue

I just bought a white iphone 4, and I have noticed really inaccurate GPS locations - When I whip out my old iphone 3GS it tells me exactly where I am, and my friends with black iphone 4's do the same - anyone else experiencing this? Anyone know how to solve this issue?
