White line below png when uploading to web??

could anyone tell me how to get ride of this white line bellow this png image??
cheers,
sean

Sean,
Because your image is a link, it inherits underline property form other links.  There's nothing wrong with your image, but you need to create custom style for that image link, something like:
<a style="border: medium none;" href="/"><img src="http://i57.tinypic.com/2ywxro5.png"></a>
This is a quick try from Firebug add-on in Firefox.

  • Strange white lines sometimes occur when saving 'for web and devices' in Illustrator?

    Hi
Strange white lines sometimes occur across my documents, when saving 'for web and devices' in Illustrator CS5 (on the right side of the black logo below). Does anyone know how to avoid this please??
    Thank you so much.

  • White lines around PNGs when exported to PDF

I am having the problem that imported images frequently have white bars around the outside of the image when the document is exported as a PDF. Looking at the two images currently affected I notice they are both PNG images. I fixed the image that was just rectangular in shape by just turning it into a JPEG as I did not require the use of transparency, but the second object is a different matter and I require the use of PNGs transparency. These lines are not present when in indesign normally.
The line is only noticable in one spot where a black rectangle meets the black background (only the top of the rectangle is visible against the black as one side is covered and the other side is out of the crop area) so I am not certain if this is the only spot it is occuring.
The line is not even a straight white line!
I have had this problem before with lines appearing around objects which should not be there, as well as objects not appearing as they do in inDesign, any advice for fixing this?

Ok guys I don't know what was wrong with my old TIFF image, but I swapped it out for a TIFF image which had a gradient fading from black to transparent as opposed to a straight black box and now the line is not there *shrug* it seems quite weird to me since I made sure the image was correct by cutting off the top segmant of the image where the trouble was.... but I dunno....
The exact same image in illustrator or photoshop showed up fine.. so I cannot understand what the problem was
EDIT: GAK!! its back on a new image I just put into the document same problem except it is on all sides of the black rectangle... *shakes fist* bah I will put another bloody gradient around the stupid thing....which by the way worked and the gradient was placed on the bottom layer so I dont see how it could be the image? I think this is proving that the problem is with acrobat (or saving from indesign) not the image...
NOTE: I would rather not post the files for various reasons

  • Flickering Grey / White lines across browser when video/animation is being played

    Hi,
For a while now i've been getting these flickering grey/white lines across my browser, usually only noticeable when a flash animation, video or embedded advert is being played on the page. I only ever seemed to notice it happening when using Google Chrome, and a few tips suggested disabling one of the Adobe flash plugins on chrome. This seemed to fix the issue, until recently it came back again.
I decided to try and reinstall Chrome, which is when i noticed the issue happening in Safari too, which made me believe that it wasn't a browser problem but my Mac itself.
The lines seem to appear quite intermittently and only when a video or animation is being played.
Another thing i should mention is that i've not yet noticed this happening when watching video directly from my hard drive, it only ever seems to happen when i'm streaming online e.g. youtube, netflix etc But with the likes of netflix, it stops happening when i'm in full screen?
I'm currently using a Macbook Pro Mid 2010, OS X Mavericks 10.9.3. I also had the Logic Board replaced under a year ago due to other issues.
I also use dual monitors, My macbook pro and a Dell 27" IPS monitor. The flickering lines appear on both monitors, so it shouldn't be a display issue.
Below is a link to a video of the issue i'm having whilst i was visiting youtube:
    http://youtu.be/En9zFT1HQ6I
Any suggestions to fix this would be appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Marie

I have also been having this problem. I recently bought a new iMac to relieve this aging computer, and kept this guy as a backup. I wiped the computer and installed Mavericks, and this problem keeps coming up. I have almost nothing on this computer... which is why I have no idea why it's having issues. The extended hardware test also shows nothing. Also tried resetting PRAM/SMC, which seems to make it go away for a little while.
Before I reset and upgraded to Mavericks, I was having another weird graphics issue where things would fragment and freeze either momentarily or permanently until I restarted. This mostly happened while I was using Skype. I brought it into the Apple Store several times but they apparently could never re-create the problem... I have a feeling these are related. I'm afraid the graphics card is failing and of course the warranty has run out.

  • HT4623 Updating iphone 4 to 7.0.2; incomplete white line below & is at 99% capacity; locked w passcode

I updated my iphone 4 to IOS 7.0.2 last night using itunes and let it run overnight.  This morning the phone screen has the apple with a line below it that is 2/3rd bright white. It is also showing at 100% capacity re: GB.  Guess the OS was bigger than available data storage.  So, I tried to restore to my backup but am getting this message:  iTunes could not restore because it is locked with a passcode.  I tried turning the phone off, disconnected it from the computer, can't figure out how to get to a passcode screen.  Fortunately, I did do a backup last night before I started.  Any suggestions?

Since I posted this query, I found excellent guidance on how to perform a recovery-mode restore (topic: iOS: Unable to update or restore). I followed the directions and have itunes open but the ONLY option it is giving me is to restore to IOS 7.0.2 and NOT to restore to my backup.
I think I need to restore to my former operating system b/c the new OS is what sent my data capacity over the edge.  If I can get back to the former OS, then I can delete some of the media, etc. and provide enough space for IOS 7.0.2.
When I clicked on the only restore option it gave me, the pop-up window said "All of your media and other data will be erased, and the newest version of the iPhone software will be installed."  Don't think I want to go there . . .
How do I restore with the Backup (which is still on itunes).

  • Why do I get white lines surrounding transparencies when exported as a PDF for print - Indesign Vers

Why do I get white lines surrounding PSD or Tiff transparencies when exported as a PDF for print - Indesign Version 9.2?
I recently upgraded creative suite - now I am having issues with white lines surrounding any tiffs or PSDs when exporting for print.
I initially thought it was an acrobat viewer problem, but it seems to be effecting print. Please let me know if anyone knows the answer to this problem. thanks!

PDF settings? Flattener settings? Overprint and trapping settings? You need to be much more specific. Eitehr way, ask in the ID forum.

  • Saving progress of web gallery generation when Uploading in Web Module

I have received an error a couple of times while uploading a web gallery to my server. When this happens (usually very late in the progress) it seems like the module has to START generating web content ALL OVER AGAIN. It would be great if Lightroom could save the content generated when encountering an error while performing an "Upload".
Lightroom 1.2, Mac OS 10.4.10, multiple CPUs

I couldn't agree more. This has happened to me a million times. I usually will upload some 400 photos or so for my client and it isn't until the very end sometimes that I will get me error. Then...it's start all over.

  • Text saved as gif or png, when place over web graphics, has jaggies

    Hi !
I'm new here but I've been using PS for years. What I want to know is this:
I use PHPbb forum software a lot and I am wanting to modify a logo on the top panel where I created a purple gradient as the header. on the left hand side I created a simple text in gif format that said "Test Site" These word are in white. I created the gif like this:
    1) I created a new file as RGB, Transparent background.
    2) Using the text tool I typed in "Test Site" on two different layers.
    3) I chose IMAGE ->MODE->Indexed Color
4)In the dialog box box I chose the defaults ie:
    Palette: Exact
    Colors: 218
    Forced: Web
    Checked box: Transparency
    Matte: None
And the rest were grayed out.
When I did a refresh on the website, my logo appears but it is not sharp and clean as it was in PS but rough and jaggie.
    What am I doing wrong?
The same thing happens if I create a file in DW, create a layer with a background color and place the gif or png on top of the bkgd color.
I am using PS cs5 and viewing with Chrome. You can view the website at:

    Thanks,

Welcome to the "wonderful" world of web development where the display of images is occasionally still in the 1990's!  You have encountered one the more annoying issues with certain web browsers:  Partial transparency barely works (especially in IE6 and earlier).  Transparency is also known as the "Alpha Channel".
GIF images have been around forever and no one thought far enough ahead to create partial transparency options for them.  They are really only good for rectangular, non-transparent images and small icons.  Use PNG and JPEG for everything else.
If you don't care about IE6, then you can save your image as a PNG and retain transparency information.  Firefox, Chrome, IE7 and later, and Safari all display transparent images without issue.  If you DO care about transparency in IE6, then you're in for a world of hurt.  Wikipedia has a bunch of "solutions" to the problem with each one having pros and cons:

  • **HELP** Unwanted white lines/shapes appear when Brush tool is used

I have been using Photoshop Elements for several years and I really liked it.But just recently I found out that in Photoshop Elements 10, whenever I use Brush or Smart Brush Tools, unwanted white ines/dots/shapes appear on the pictures.  This is driving me crazy! What went wrong?? I've done the following:
Reset all preferences by clicking Ctrl + Alt + Shift
    Reset all tools.
    Restart my computer.
    Nothing worked! Please help!!!
I have attached the original and the picturec problems below:
    Original: very clean background
    Problem: What are those lines??????

Yes I did solve the problem!
Thanks to everyone that suggested things, but none of them worked. In the end it was Wacom, yes... WACOM that solved the problem. Even though it was an Adobe Photoshop issue as far as I could tell. So thank you Wacom, you helped me when I needed it most.
So now to the vital solution:
"Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding pen tool in Adobe Photoshop CS3.
Please try the step below for reset CS3
For MAC, please hold pressing command + alt+ shift, then open Photoshop.
Get the CS3 update. Start CS3 while holding.
If the problem remains, uninstall and reinstall Adobe Photoshop CS3 again."
Worked the first time for me. So spread the word! This issue shall trouble people no more, a solution has been found!

  • Safari quits unexpectedly when uploading to (web)mail

    Hello,
OK, I'm at my wits end here... I tried searching for a solution here and elsewhere, it appears that I'm not alone - but no definite solution seems to have been found.
Using webmail (either to yahoo, or gmail, or to other mail accounts), when I try to attach a file to an
outgoing message - Safari "unexpectedly quits" during the uploading process. The crash
report is pasted at the bottom of this message.
What did I try/attempt to do?
    1. Search the web: found various suggestions for plugins removal, resetting Safari, etc.
-- tried them all, but no fix.
    2. Created a new user: Safari SUCCESSFULLY sent attachments from that user.
    3. Uninstall Safari and reinstall it again: How do I do that?
    4. Repaired permissions and verified disk: no change.
    5. Downloaded and installed Firefox (into the same user with the quitting Safari): Firefox SUCCESSFULLY sent attachments.
From #2 above, I suspect that "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark". Denmark in
this case is my home directory... I tried to delete the obvious places I found references
to Safari there: "internet plugins" folder, The Safari folder in user Library, but I'm
sure there are more places (Cache and history I assume are deleted when I do Safari
    "reset").
    So, to summarize:
    1. Given the attached log, can you tell what is "Broken"?
    2. Will uninstalling/installing Safari solve it? How do I do it?
    3. How do I completely clean all Safari traces from the home directory? (i.e., make it like it's a new user.)
    4. Any other thoughts on how to fix the problem?
    Thanks,
    Zevi

    Hello again Starman!
Sorry for the absence -- had to go on a trip and I'm back to deal with this issue...
Well, at var/folders/ there's no rO folder. There are 3 other folders: two of which I can only browse one further level inside, and one that I can go all the way in. I tried to "Get Info" for the folders that are one level inside the two "limited" ones, and they seem to belong (1) to the test user I set, and (2) some kind of system ownership. I do see, by the way, that they contain cache folders, but I cannot open them since they are marked with the small "No entry" sign.
Anyhow, I went inside the one folder that I could browse, and did what you suggested: verified that the folder "com.apple.Safari" is not locked, and neither are the 2 files inside it: cache.db and SafeBrowsing.db. I then moved out cache.db to the desktop, and restarted Safari.
The problem did not go away. It still crashes when I try to upload an attachment. I also verified that: (1) I can successfully send an attachment using Firefox, and (2) my test user can successfully send an attachment...
Could I completely remove and re-install Safari? Do you think it will help?
    Thanks again,
    Zevi

  • MacBook Pro Retina - Images in PS look great, but when uploaded to web too big and distorted

Part of the reason I hated using my Mac for graphic and web design is that when I create images in adobe photoshop everything looks amazing. However, when I upload them to the web, they are way too big and look distorted, this includes text.
I'm trying to make a text logo with a transparent background. When I create it in photoshop the size I want it looks fine and clear, but once it's uploaded to the web it looks way too big and the font is blurred. How can I fix this? I use the Adobe Cloud, so I have the latest version.

No sir, I'm still trying to figure out how to fix it
Here is what it looks like in photoshop :
then to see what it looks like in the browser, go to http://enigmadesigns.boards.net
This preview in the thread was taken with my cell phone as I don't know how to screenshot on  a Mac yet LOL

  • Can SAP ignore blank lines in Excel when uploading the planning for PCA?

    Hi,
We have launch planning on PCA in SAP. We are uploading the planning figures from an Excel-sheet via the standard function in SAP. The problem is that sometimes we get blank lines in the Excel-doc. When we upload with blank lines we receive an error. Can I somehow get SAP to ignore blank lines?
    Best regards
    Carl-Johan

Well you can delete the empty lines in excel using the sort functionality and try it.
    Hope it helps..
    Thanks,

I have already uploaded several galleries without any issues using the same template. Now have recieced this message for several different collection. I have increased the avilable cache meomry in the setting and restarted the computer.
I have changed template using LR6.

This happens when one of the elements of the cluster has been
overwritten. Look closely at any strings or other variable elements in
the cluster. It is important that the buffer be allocated to the size
expected by the DLL before it is called.

  • Lightroom 1.1 Server timeout message when uploading a web page

I just updated to LTR 1.1 and now I'm sitting here looking at an error message for most of the day when ever I want to make a Web Page in LTR.
It tells me the Server is not responding and It's timing out.
I called my ISP and Server both are okay. What can I do or, who can I call to make things work a little ?

    Duane,
This looks like the URL has the content of a wiki page as an attachment to the URL which is blowing up the get request. Can you go to the earlier version - the history should allow you to backtrack changes - if you access this earlier version and change something small - does it save OK. If so then maybe the change you made is the problem.
I cannot access the workspace without being given explicit access so this is a guess.
