White Lines/ Foreign Patterns in Fonts only while Playing

Vram in use 64K, Keynote 2.0.2
Does anyone know how to correct this problem? It seems that whenever i play the slide presentation white lines are running through the entire slides and foreign patterns appear in the fonts. i have changed the display, colors, sync, but nothing has improved this problem.

I wish I had a 10.3.9 machine to check, but, since your video card should definitely be up to the task, I think it's probably going to be that Keynote's having a unique problem with your setup. In Keynote, under the Keynote menu, choose "Provide User Feedback" and send your problem to Apple. It could be that it may not have been reported yet.

Touch screen doesnt work only while playing music.

While playing music, the touch screen does not respond. I can only change songs by locking, then double tapping the home button. The touch screen works fine for all apps and home screen. I can't change albums, songs or anything. I have not dropped the Ipod or exsposed it to water. Have no insurance on it. Thank you in advance!

Don't play songs!
If it has never been jailbroke, the following may help.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

White Lines in SWF in firefox only

It's easier to show than to describe. I've got this SIMPLE
flash movie that I'm supposed to put on a site. it looks fine in
IE. when I look at it in firefox, I get lines above/below the
text...but only, apparently, on some backgrounds. the sample page
shows the flash against black, red, gold and the actual blue/gray
that is the background color for my final site.
let me tell you what I don't have: boxes around the text,
lines of any kind through the flash file, jpg/bmp/other imported
graphics.
Does anyone have any ideas? Again - test this in IE and
Firefox. the results are different.

That was the issue, in a roundabout sort of way. my FF was
running a different release of the flash plugin, so the overall
answer, for client-facing solution, was to publish the flash to an
older version.
that still doesn't explain the lines.......

Can you listen to audio only while playing a movie?

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if there is a way to turn off the screen and listen to the audio only when a movie is playing?
I have some teaching videos as movies and I thought it would be really nice if I could listen to the audio only and save battery power.

I don't know of any way to turn off the video directly so the way I do that is to run the video through a program like Kigo Video Converter to strip out the audio only, then load that on the iPod.

1.2 Update: Slow/choppy menu performance only while playing music?

I picked up a 80GB iPod during the week....
I've noticed that the menus (namely smoothly scrolling through a long list of songs or artists) are quite smooth when not playing a song - but while you are playing a song, the meus become quite choppy/stuttery...scrolling through the same list of songs is awful!
Has anyone experienced this problem with the 1.2 update to existing iPods, or with the newest 5th gen iPods?

While I had my Ipod connected I to my computer I went to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter. Your Ipod should be one of the hard drives listed you just click on it and click analyse and it will tell you if it needs defragged. The process is just like if you were defragging your computer's hard drive.

Flickering Grey / White lines across browser when video/animation is being played

Hi,
For a while now i've been getting these flickering grey/white lines across my browser, usually only noticeable when a flash animation, video or embedded advert is being played on the page. I only ever seemed to notice it happening when using Google Chrome, and a few tips suggested disabling one of the Adobe flash plugins on chrome. This seemed to fix the issue, until recently it came back again.
I decided to try and reinstall Chrome, which is when i noticed the issue happening in Safari too, which made me believe that it wasn't a browser problem but my Mac itself.
The lines seem to appear quite intermittently and only when a video or animation is being played.
Another thing i should mention is that i've not yet noticed this happening when watching video directly from my hard drive, it only ever seems to happen when i'm streaming online e.g. youtube, netflix etc But with the likes of netflix, it stops happening when i'm in full screen?
I'm currently using a Macbook Pro Mid 2010, OS X Mavericks 10.9.3. I also had the Logic Board replaced under a year ago due to other issues.
I also use dual monitors, My macbook pro and a Dell 27" IPS monitor. The flickering lines appear on both monitors, so it shouldn't be a display issue.

I have also been having this problem. I recently bought a new iMac to relieve this aging computer, and kept this guy as a backup. I wiped the computer and installed Mavericks, and this problem keeps coming up. I have almost nothing on this computer... which is why I have no idea why it's having issues. The extended hardware test also shows nothing. Also tried resetting PRAM/SMC, which seems to make it go away for a little while.
Before I reset and upgraded to Mavericks, I was having another weird graphics issue where things would fragment and freeze either momentarily or permanently until I restarted. This mostly happened while I was using Skype. I brought it into the Apple Store several times but they apparently could never re-create the problem... I have a feeling these are related. I'm afraid the graphics card is failing and of course the warranty has run out.

Thin White Lines in my Folios

I have been noticing thin white lines in my folios - but only when viewing on the iPad... I am constructing my inDesign files from optimized PDFs
any ideas ??

Well it seems I have many folios experiencing this. And maybe I need some education about how to utilize my PDFs so this doesnt happen.
1. After designing the magazine, we ship the files to print.
2. We receive individual PDF files (1 per page) back from the printer... and I merge them together into 1 PDF document.
I am using Acrobat X Pro ver 10.1.3. I then Save As >> Reduced Size PDF ( which does great at lowering the overall size ). In the advanced tab, we have the PDF Producer with Acrobat Distiller 8.1.0 (Mac) and PDF Version 1.6 (Acrobat 7.x)
I then place the pages into my inDesign document - 1 article - 1 folio
so if anyone can recommend a process on how to eliminate these white lines or more resources on not flattening so I can start testing and move away from these white line stitchings....
I have looked at some past issues and when opening the "Layers" tab - there is nothing listed - making me believe that all my PDFs are flattened...
any help will be much appreciated....

Nokia C5 - white line appearing across top of scre...

This has happened a few times now, but usually disappears after a few hours or a day - most recently it appeared two days ago and is still here. It's a narrow white line, I think it's only one pixel thick - sometimes it's right at the top of the screen so isn't too obvious, but the past few times it's been a few lines down, just touching the top of the clock.
I'm worried it's going to get worse and start obscuring more of the screen - has anyone else had this problem, and can it be fixed? I've tried to update the software on the phone but got told I'm running the latest version (not sure how to check exactly what version that is.)

How can I prevent my screen getting covered with black and white lines while working on the internet which only happens with firefox and only go when I 'go back' or go down a page?

It happens as I surf - horizontal black and white lines particularly when I scroll down and only goes if I can go to a new page or go back a page. It is driving me crazy and only happens with firefox. I have disabled all plug ins but it still happens.

Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

No matter what website I am on all of a sudden the page will be covered in black and white lines and I can't see any of the page. What is happening and how do I fix it? It has only started since I loaded Firefox 4 this week.

I am very frustrated because I keep having my pages become covered completely in black and white lines. It has even happened on this page when I tried to use the drop down arrow by 'this happened'. I can sometimes read the page if I click over the area I want to read but this is not common. This has only been happening since I downloaded Firefox 4. I thought this would be a better version but now I am not so sure.

I do not want to download another virus program.. I do not believe it is a virus. I am running the full version of Norton 360 and it is doing a daily scan. I have Windows 7, 64 bit OS.

Then the bottom of the support document states that if you do not have access to the device (which unfortunately because of the screen issue you do not) to contact Apple Care. That is what you need to do.

White Line While Charging

Has anyone noticed a thin white line at the bottom of the screen while charging the phone?

My iphone stopped working. I can only see a thing white line on the screen and the screen does not respond at all although turning the phone on vibrate makes it vibrate. The screen has been cracked for some time but has worked fine until today.

4345 MFP 1/4" white line beginning 1 3/4" from left margin only when utilizing ADF.

I have a really strange issue on a 4345 Multi Function Printer. Part HP CB246A, S/N CNDC82NQ5W
When one prints from any application on a P.C. or utilizes the platen without the document feeder the print is as expected.
Utilizing the Automatic Document Feeder the print presents with a 1/4" white line beginning 1 3/4" from the left margin running the length of the page. I have tried placing the original on the platen and printing from an application on the P.C. just after this anomaly occurs and get print as expected. I have never seen this and it seems to defy logic.
Has anyone seen this or do any of you have any ideas regarding this?

Further research and finding the adf manual seems to indicate that the adf actually has a built in scanner. Should a piece of paper be lodged on the built in scanner then the anomaly I saw would take place. I think this is the resolution to the issue and now it is quite logical how this would transpire.
