White lines in *.SVG-images

When I'm placing a *.SVG-image in Muse, I get a thick white line in the bottom and a thinner white line to the right in the placed image. These lines kan not be removed in Muse. What do I do wrong?

For now the only fix is this choice:
1. Register for Adobe's beta program, sign a NDA and then see if the beta of Muse fixes SVG issues.
2. Wait for the next official point release of Muse.
Muse 2014.2 was released in early October. I'm wondering when "2014.3" will be released. Previously a lot of the point releases came every 2 or maybe 3 months. We're now at four months and counting between point releases. That's kind of a long time to wait for getting a pretty obvious bug fixed, such as the white underline problem in SVG images. I thought Adobe's engineers would have addressed that one pretty quickly.
Sidetrack:
I can only guess what's going on behind the scenes at Adobe. Perhaps they're making some pretty big, fundamental changes to Muse to make the application a whole lot better. I hope Adobe's engineers aren't getting sidetracked by armchair quarterback nonsense coming from stock investors. Creative Cloud subscription numbers are rising, but Adobe's margins have been shrinking, in part because of lots of research & development (good for us users). So lots of stock buyers are telling Adobe what they need to do, and some are suggesting they put a lot more of their resources behind sales and marketing tools. Adobe announced a $2 billion stock buy-back program in January (after finishing the previous one). Investors are very impatient. They're complaining about the hit to revenue over the transition from boxed perpetual license software to a subscription only model. The investors don't understand creative professionals are literally going to get forced onto Creative Cloud as they get rid of older, slower computers. They also don't seem privy to Adobe's growth in some other niches, like video. Premiere Pro has been surging in popularity at the expense of Final Cut and Avid. It reminds me of how InDesign rose to dominate Quark Xpress.
I don't like having to pay a subscription for Adobe applications, but for my work I am stuck with it. Adobe doesn't have enough credible competition to change that. And Adobe's competitors are trying to jump on the subscription model too.

  • Strange stiching white lines in placed images...

    Hi,
I'm having some problems with Illustrator CS2.
When i place a .PSD file (1 layer, photo, transparent background) with 300 dpi / CMYK 8bit into my main page, i get these strange stitching white lines over the image.
Not only that, but after working on my arrangement some more, if i click my placed image, i notice how Illustrator has sliced it into 2 or more parts..
This is annoying, since getting those white stitching lines doesn't really make me safe for print, and also bothers me that Illustrator slices the image into 2 or more parts without asking or confirmation.
Anyone knows how i can fix this problem?
    Thanks,
    John

  • White Lines appear on Images in Adobe Photoshop CS3

White Lines appear on Images in Adobe Photoshop CS3
Recently discover that on three different computers, while editing images in Adobe Photoshop CS3, white lines would appear on some of the images.
For example changing a image from a .jpg to a .psd or size, or enchantment features, the white lines would appear on the image.
The lines did not appear on any of the printed images, any suggestions.
    Monitor: Sony Trintron Multiscan G4110
    Computer: Mac G5

    >The lines did not appear on any of the printed images,
Although it is odd that three computers exhibit the same problem, and unless you can provide other coincidences (same files, same monitor, etc.), I agree. The video card is typically the culprit IF the image anomalies don't print and if they move about with each image resizing or opening of a specific image. Check to see if it's properly seated and connected. Same for monitor cable. Try swapping in another card.
One other thought: as this is a CRT monitor, what happens if you change the resolution and refresh rate? Are you using a recommended combination for that monitor?

  • When a pdf is taken from illustrator, white lines appears on images. How can be avoided it?

When a pdf is taken from illustrator, white lines appears on images. How can be avoided it?
I use illustrator cs5. It occures mostly on the cover pages of brochures which contains images, texts and some effects such as drop shadow etc.

    Thanks for your reply.
When smooth line art is turned off in Acrobat preferences, the lines disappears but the text becomes raserized and goes its smoothness. Not only that, we are not sure that everyone who is viewing the pdf has the same settings in their laptop or desktop.
Is there any other solution to remove these lines? I have added the screenshot of a part of the pdf.
Thanks once again for your support.

  • Why are white lines appearing in images in PDF files but not the original InDesign files?

    Hi folks!
Let me just start out by saying that I'm not a graphic designer and have basically no experience with graphic design programs, aside from the little futzing around I've tried to do with InDesign. My company (which publishes a monthly magazine) has decided that it would be a great idea to get the files to our magazine from the graphic design firm that actually handles the production end of things so that we may offer back articles, etc., and modify them as needed. Somehow I've gotten assigned the task of handling this. However, I've encountered some problems along the way. The graphic design firm uses Quark, we own InDesign (CS3) and use Markzware to convert the files. Most things seem to work okay in this arrangement but I'm having problems with the images in the file when I create PDFs. Although the images look fine in the InDesign files (and are of print quality), when I create PDFs of some files, thin white lines appear over the images in the PDF document. I asked our graphic designer about this but she has no idea, and she isn't very familiar with InDesign.
So, my question is, where are these lines coming from and how do I stop them from appearing? As a reminder, I'm not a graphic designer and am fdairly ignorant in design software terminology. If you're kind enough to try to help me with this problem, I'm going to require an explanation in plain English. Basically explain it to me like you would to a 10 year old.
If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it!
    Thanks in advance,
    Lynn

I think Bob was typing too fast and meant to ask if you were distilling, not to tell you distill.
Distilled PDF (you get distilled by printing to PDF rather than exporting) always flattens transparency, which is what makes those white "stitching" lines.
You can make the stitching disappear on screen by turning off smoothing in the Acrobat prefs, and it shouldn't print on a press, but it sounds like you may be doing the output on a digital machine and it's likely to show on the lower resolution output.

  • White line on small images

I inserted some small images to act as link-buttons. For some reason, some of them display a white line on the top. See the apple logo for instance here: http://kojema.net/cs/siteinfo.html
and the green buttons here: http://kojema.net/cs/audio.html
I used the same green button image another place, and there it did not display the white line. I used Aperture to crop the original images, and then simply dragged them into iWeb. What is causing this? The lines aren't visible in iWeb. But after I publish the site. there they are.
    Thanks.
P.S. Is it just me, or does Firefox cause an enormous loss of color in jpegs?

There are a few solutions to the problem, see my post in this thread:

  • White line cutting off image in Ken Burns effect

Hi I have multiple layers in a clip-- White background, photo with some white background as well, some text. When I apply Ken Burns to get a little movement, all of the sudden a white bar appears up top and cuts off part of the photo.  Where is this coming from? There's really nothing above the photo that I can see in the layering of all this?  Thoughts?
    Thanks so much!
    ClemKins

Are you editing inside a clip timeline, or on a project? What are you applying the Ken Burns effect to? The whole clip, the photo?
Please post a screenshot of your timeline, viewer and inspector, to see exactly what you are trying.

  • White line around image

    Hi everyone,
I keep getting a white line appear around images I save in
Photoshop and then insert into Dreamweaver. It happens when I also
save text with a transparent background. The text has a very faint
white line around it. Why is this?

Where are you seeing this, in PS? or DW design view or in a
    browser?
When you insert your pics in an HTML page with 0 border, do
    you still see
    the border?
This is not a graphics forum. Adobe has a PS forum at

  • Why the White Lines around imported Photoshop Images

Working in CS6, importing native Photoshop images into an Illustrator gradient.  Certain imported Photoshop images, with transparent background, produce white lines bordering the images.   The white lines stand out against the AI gradient.  The whites lines are not visable on screen.  They came out in the commercially printed product.  The overall AI document, with PS images placed and linked, was save to a PDF.  It was then printed from the PDF. The PDF, as viewed on screen, does not show the white lines either.  Why and how do the white border lines (the box surrounding the image) appear?

First I would recommend making sure there are indeed »no pixels« there in Photoshop – applying the Layer Style Stroke can help locate stray, semitransparent pixels.
Other than that I am afraid your print service provider may not have provided optimal output.
What print process was employed anyway?
It looks like flattening effects, but those should simply not be visible in print.
They happen when exporting X1 or X3 pdfs, which disallow transparency, so in creating the pdf the psd files that have transparency are flattened with whatever background and often broken up into smaller parts.
That way a whole mess of fragmentary images can be created, as one can see when one opens such a pdf in Illustrator.
One can avoid that by creating X4 pdfs, which do allow transparency, but if those can be processed by the printer is another question.
But this issue might be more suitable to the Illustrator or pdf Fora.

  • Remove white lines in contact sheet ?

    Hi,
I made a contact sheet with 20 b+w  images but there are really annoying white lines in a grid between the pics.  I cannot find a way to remove them - short of drawing black lines over each of them.  I set the spacing to 0.0 cm  .  My sheet is 80cm square with 20 perfect size jpgs of 20 * 16 cm each.
I am stuck .  Even making a black canvas makes no difference.

What software did you use to make the contact sheet?
I assume the white lines are the image borders.

This isn't a complex seletion, its a photomerge with blank, white areas that i am filling in using content away fill.

  • Help!!  White line around image with placed in Illustrator from Photoshop, possible CMYK issue?

I have a CMYK file, outlined product, that looks perfect in Photoshop.  When I place the image into Illustrator, it shows up with a thin white line around parts of the product (fyi - it shows up on a print as well). I have tried to place an RGB file and it does not have the white line around the product.    I assume it has something to do with it being CMYK, but I'm at a loss on how to fix this.  I'm desperate for any help.

Okay, please refer this image and change the option within Ai General preferences. Uncheck the option Anti-Aliased artwork.

  • White Line Under Images

    Hello,
I'm creating a mobile site using Dreamweaver and for some reason any image I place in my document has a white line under it.  I already have my IMG tag set to border: 0 so I have no idea why it's happening.  I have even tried removing all css and just placing a singe image in a bare html file and it still happens with any image I place in any directory.  I also tested it in multiple browsers.  I've never had this happen before and it seems very strange.
An example can be seen here: http://mobile.sageinsuranceservicing.com/index2.html.  The border appears under the main image on the page and seems to be about 2 or 3 pixels.
    Thank you for any suggestions!

That's probably the browser default inline text descender padding for the html5 doctype.
Add display:block to your image css...
    img {
         display:block;
         border:0;

  • DW8-Fine white line around images

DW8 - On some of my images there is a very fine white line
around the edge when the site is previewed in the browser. The site
has an almost-black background color (181714), and I use the same
color in making the image backgrounds (in Photoshop CS), for
example roll-over images. How do I get rid of this?

You wouldn't set this in the Property inspector, you'd set it
    in the CSS,
and the only time you need it would be when the image is
    within a link:
    a img { border:none; }
Also, you wouldn't expect this effect to produce a white
    border - it would
be a blue one (by default).
I'm guessing the fine white line is part of the image (it's
    easy to
undercrop when the canvas is white).
    > I've noticed
    > that in tables, having nothing there is "bigger" than
    specifying a zero.
If you have nothing there, you will get the default value for
    the all of the
table attributes, which is often (but not always) not zero.
