White-out query

Greetings - I am searching for a way to cleanly eliminate white backgrounds from around complex illustrations that I scanned into photshop CS4. I am preping these illustrations for import into flash for animation. I have tried the selection/magic wand tools - but they seem to either leave a residue of white around my black-line borders, or cut into the black lines and take away from their intensity. I am searching for a 'clean' and 'easy' way to do this, as there are going to be hundreds of these illustrations to prep.

Are these black on white line art? Try using Levels or curves.

Should your query be a valid SQL query?
I can't think that the query you have would be valid in a SQL plus window.

Some of the possibilities I'm guessing are: glitches in my Verizon FiOS Wi-Fi providership?; staying too long on a site that's waiting for me to finish and "Submit"?; computer hardware prob (yikes, I hope not! It's brand new). Any ideas out there?

When this 'white-out' occurs, is the display 100% white with no error message and no menu bar?
Does this occur when you are using Wi Fi or connected to the Internet via the Ethernet cable?

Preview PDF white out issue.

I want to white out a couple of lines on a PDF form. White out. No box lines, no shadows. White. As in those lines disappear. What is the deal with the shadows? Is there a way to just have parts of a doc whited out?

It may be worth pointing out here that redactions in pdf files have been circumvented in the past quite easily. If you want to hide the line you need to delete it.

I got a problem with my Iphone 3g 16gb model. Sometimes the phone is white out. I did restore a couple times but does not work, it still happen, not much but really annoying. I came to apple store (CA San Diego Fashion Valley) and talked with tech support at genius bar, a guy said the cable connect to the screen loosing,and he fixed it, however everything is still the same and i went to apple store again, the tech said at first he said just sit and try and do whatever i want if the screen happen again he will fix it( are you always with me all the time to do that? <----- i asked???) and he came with another solution just squeeze the screen when the screen's white out( apple company make iphone to squeeze every time it white out . Just wonder what do i have to do? could give me some advice? live with the iphone white out sometimes, or go to tech support hope them gonna fix this problem again (???), or throw the phone away and find another iphone.

if its still under warranty then yes a loose cable would be covered (if it just loosened on its own)...
when you go back to the apple store explain you have been in several times and it is still happening and perhaps they will swap it out for a service unit!

White out? Cut? Hide?

I work with a lot of Cad files. Recently we have been scanning the old hand drawn drawings into PDF format. On occasion we have to do simple editing on them and I do it in AutoCad. Usually the edit is just to hide a part or update some text. I insert the pdf and use AutoCad's "Wipeout" to cover the area or text, then insert the vector changes. However, Inserting these scans into AutoCad really bogs down the software. Is there a similar tool to wipeout in Acrobat? Or is there any way to cut out or hide and area of a document so the edit just make white space?

Acrobat Professional includes a Redaction process. This is not erasing or white out is is complete removal of the item. But the entire process needs to be completed.

Michael- I am trying to create stimuli for an experiment and well the control condition is a video recording of a man from the neck up speaking in front of a blue background and for the control we want to "white out" all of the facial features except for the mouth so that all you see is the blue background, an outline of the head that is all white except for the mouth.
This is my first research project and I am really hoping to do well and truly appreciate the help.

My thunderbird whites out & "Not Responding" shows up? all to often. Can you help. Great other wise :-)

It seems to happen when I really need to get in to an e-mail.. Murphys law :-)
TB locks up, says "Not responding" across the top , Then finally whites out. The rest of the computer is working fine, So I usually go do something else, & when I come back to TB its working again.

Query hangs with outer query

My query hangs when I include the outer query. When I execute without outer query It comes out in a fraction of second but when I includes outer query it starts hang

a couple of comments:
1. Why do you use the deprecated FIRST_ROWS hint? From 9i on the FIRST_ROWS_n mode should be used instead, and since you're using a top-N query format the hint should be superfluous anyway since the optimizer should switch to FIRST_ROWS_n mode automatically.
2. Why do you use a BITMAP index and not a conventional b*tree index? Let me hazard a guess: Because the INTERFACE column has a small number of distinct values? That would be in most cases a bad idea.
3. What seems to be odd that you're accessing the data via the BITMAP index on INTERFACE, but request an ORDER BY ID DESC. But there is no order by in the execution plan posted. I wonder where the order should come from? Can you show us the DDL of the bitmap index?
4. What does the plan look like if you run only the inner query without the outer query?
You can always gain more information by tracing the statement execution or using the GATHER_PLAN_STATISTICS hint together with the DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY_CURSOR function.

Need a little help, I have a receipt for something that I need to forward to another person and want to just "White out" the dollar amounts. I can't figure out how to do this without it showing me as editing something or it being a fill in text box. Is it my settings? Any help would be appreciated.

Using the inner query to filter outer query

i've tried finding an old post on this, but there's nothing quite what im looking for. I have an inner query which gets sales totals, and an outer query with an outer join to return all the weeks (even when there are no sales):-
