White pages in Acrobat Pro

Coloured InDesign pages saved as PDF turn out to be white in Acrobat Pro? Only on MAC PRO OSX10.7.5. - Adobe CC

So does that mean you've tried them on other machines using Reader? If not, try it to see if they still look like that. Could be something to do with the way they wre created or exported from InDesign.

  • Unable to delete or combine pages in Acrobat Pro 9

I am using Acrobat Pro 9 and want to delete a page and then add a page to an existing pdf document that was created in Adobe 9 Pro to begin with.  I have tried using the "pages" tab to create thumbnails and then highlight the page I want to remove and select "edit > delete" and this option is greyed out.  The menu option at the top: "document > delete pages" is also greyed out.  Then I tried creating a new duplicate pdf from scratch using Live Cycle Designer to import the existing text into a fresh document and then delete the page and the same problem is coming up and that isn't fixing this issue.  How do I enable page deletions and insertions?
    thanks,

Don't use LiveCycle Designer. Create your forms with Adobe Acrobat. Designer-created forms can't be modified in Acrobat.

  • How does I resize a pdf file page using Acrobat Pro?

In Acrobat Pro, how can one resize a pdf file page (21.38'' x 26.75'') into one measuring 6'' x 9'', to be submitted as the trim size? Is there a feature that allows this to be done? How does one set all print options from the Application print dialog box to enable one to adjust the dimensions of any customized file page?

I want to scale the 21.4'' by 26.8'' content down to one that can be fitted inside a 6'' by 9'' book.
I have this pdf that was created from the InkFlow app, and I'm using Acrobat Pro to merge three files into one (about 300MB), which I needed to submit to Amazon's CreateSpace, but they needed the trim size of 6'' by 9'', while the pdf is 21.4''' by 26.8'', and I can't amend the source file size of the InkFlow files.
I tried fiddling with the Crop and Print options, but I'm unable to resize the pdf to match the trim size. The problem on my side isn't so much on printing but to resize the pdf file page to 6'' by 9'' to satisfy Amazon's requirement for their trim size. Could this be done with Acrobat Pro? The message that appears is: Full print options of Acrobat Pro, set all print options from the Application print dialog box. Thank for the help.

  • Having trouble in printing the scanned pages in Acrobat Pro

I m using acrobat pro. I recently started having some trouble in printing the scanned pages in Acrobat. When i am printing a regular (non-scanned) page, it works just fine. If i m printing a scanned page, the print is completely distorted. I don't even know how to describe this condition, so I don't really know how to google it.
If i remember correctly, I made some changes to the printing options. I can't exactly recall what was it, but it was something trivial (like printing all text to black or something)
So i have attached the print of a scanned document. It's just the print quality that's different.
    Thanks for help.

  • Batch Process crop page 2 - Acrobat Pro 9 crashes

Hi am trying to set up a Batch Sequence to crop 4 pages. (The crop for each page is different).
I can set up the first Command in the sequence to crop page 1 only. Then when I try to set up the next Command to crop page 2 Acrobat quits!
Any ideas or solutions would be much appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. As soon as I type in a number in the first box of the page range the application quits. Good news though. If you have Acrobat 8 it appears to work okay. It also appears possible to copy the sequence from v8 and use it in v9. You just have to track down the "Sequences" folders for each version and copy the v8 sequence into the v9 folder. The folders are in the user Library folder, buried a few layers deep.
If v9 is all you have though, I think this workaround might do what you need. Since Acrobat doesn't remove any of the data when you crop and since you should be able to change the second number in the page range without the app quitting, you can try this:
    • Have your first command crop pages 1-4 using the margins you want for page 4
    • Have your second command crop pages 1-3 using the margins you want for page 3
    • Have your third command crop pages 1-2 using the margins you want for page 2
    • Have your fourth command crop pages 1-1 using the margins you want for page 1
That should leave each page with the correct crop. Just remember not to try changing the first number in the page range.

  • Self replicating form pages in Acrobat Pro 9 (Win XP)

Is it possible to make a single form page, with several text fields, a few drop-down menus, that will duplicate itself into a new page when a button at the bottom of the page is pushed?
If this is possible, is it also possible to have any fields, drop downs, or buttons, change their name automatically as each new page is created so that there are no conflicts of having multiple form items with the same name?
For example; Page 1 has a button, "Date1", that when pressed, will insert the current date into field "DateField1".   I press another button, a new page is created which is an exact duplicate of page 1 (with all fields blank) and now, on page 2, there is a button, "Date2", that will insert the current date in "DateField2".
If this is possible, how do I do it?
Thank you very much for any help you can proivide,
    Nathan

Have you looked at the documentation for the template object and the spawn method. You set the 'rename' parameter to 'true' and the spawning method will rename the fields in the template to be prefixed with "P#.templateName." where "#" is the zero based page  number of the spawned template and "templateName" is the name of template that was spawned.

When I create a from that uses a template, I create the template and then spawn the 1st page of the form before the template and then work out the scripting for the 1st page and template and then hide the template.
Thanks, but I've already gotten past this point.  The issue I am having now is getting the javascript for the button to automatically append the page prefix to itself so that the button works on that page, not the page it was duplicated from.

  • Change in page extraction - Acrobat Pro XI

The means to extract pages has changed recently. It no longer appears under tools. Now it is located over the page thumbnails. Can you give me information on when this changed? Was there an automatide update that caused this? I am using another software that uses Acrobat extensively and it is having problems reading files I extract. Last week (Mar 9, 2015) it was working fine. This week (Mar 16, 2015) it is not. Any ideas?

    Hi, Anubha,
Thank you for your reply. I will admit that I am a complete novice at this point.
I have pdf files of a parts manual. They include graphics and tables. I need to convert these files to Excel. I do this on a regular basis. Sometimes Acrobat works like clock work, but this file is proving to be an ugly exception.
I have not been able to get an acceptable result from Acrobat XI. I can understand it not being able to translate diagrams to Excel, but the tables are coming in as jibberish. For example, a list of part numbers will show up in one cell from one table and then be nicely one part number per cell on the next. Then sometimes part numbers show up in one column and then another on the next table. Table headers and various combinations of cells are merging across 2 or 3 cells. Sometimes the information shows up all in one column. And my personal favorite, information shows up as some sort of sanscrit from 400 BC.
Since I am converting manuals with 1200 pages, this is very annoying. I have also tried breaking up the files into smaller 50-100 page increments with no improvement.
This has led me to look to other software. The other software was working like a champ the first week, but then it started to fail this week. I had noticed that my Acrobat XI had changed the way I navigated to extract files and wondered if it had updated. My thought was that there was some sort of incompatability between the updated Acrobat and the other software. After much more investigation, the problem seems to lay in the other software.
I am getting quite desparate at this point. I still have 200 pages to do on this particular book and dread having to drop down to typing in tables by hand.
If you would be willing to work with me to try to get Acrobat to work, I would be appreciative.

  • Printing Black and White in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9

    Hi there,
Can somebody please explain how to print my color pdfs as B/W so I'm not wasting my colour ink. I have tried many of the different settings but it keeps on going back to it's default?
    Thanks.

My biggest challenge is printing pdfs of schematic diagrams where color is used to signify "layers" in a drawing.  Hardest one to read is "yellow" on white for lines or text.
I found a solution, however it may apply to my specific printer only (Sharp MX-2300N).
From  the print dialog, select "Properties" next to the printer name.
From the priter properties popup, select the "Main" tab, and check "Black and White print".
From the "Color" tab, make these selections:
Color Mode:  Select "black and white"
Color Adjustment:  Check "Text to Black"
Color Adjustment:  Check "Vector to Black"
Other printers may have similar configuration options.

  • REDUCE FILE SIZE with Acrobat Pro

    Hi everyone!
I  created a epk for a rock band  with Illustrator then I created one pdf that contains the all three pages with Acrobat Pro (I downloaded the trial because it was just for this occasion) This epk is a pdf file with 3 pages, some pictures and hyperlinks.
I need to send the epk to the band and they want a reduced size one. The original is 8.3 M but obviously it's too big to be sent via email.
I have been trying with the option SAVE AS -  REDUCED SIZE PDF but it doesn't work! Still the same size.
I am new to acrobat so maybe I am missing something.
    HELP!
    Thanks

    Hi michelab,
You can also try choosing Save As > Optimized PDF. There are various settings in that dialog box that you can manipulate to bring down the file size. Here's the Help topic on that dialog box, with information about the various settings:http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/optimizing-pdfs-acrobat-pro.html
Please let us know how it goes.

  • I am trying to use Acrobat Pro version XI to crop my PDF but can't find the "PAGES" tools

I have a 1 page PDF that is 9.5 inches wide with about 1.5 inches of margin.  I want to crop off the extra white space and center the image so that it fits on a normal letter sized page.  However, I can't find any sort of crop or trim command in Acrobat.  When I google cropping a PDF I find references to a crop command that is in some sort of "pages" collection of tools but I don't have any pages menu either.  Is there a way to use Acrobat Pro for cropping ?  How?
I also have photoshop and have tried importing and cropping there but when I export the image back to PDF format I find that its 10X the size it started.  Its important for my purposes that the file be small.

Well it was installed yesterday and I spent hours trying to find the option  as virtually the first thing I did when I launched it, so I'm quite sure I would have remembered if I changed it.  However it was installed by a push from our corporate software distribution system so maybe that has a way of reconfiguring some options. Why they'd bother is a mystery to me though.  Anyway, good to know, thanks again

  • How do I get the PDF Convert feature of Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.4.4, which makes a PDF of a web page interactive, to work in Firefox 4.0.1?

I just installed (on my Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) operating system/Intel i5 CPU M560 2.67 GHz) and am now using as my default browser Firefox 4.0.1 because Internet Explorer 9 was giving me so much trouble--lack of display of web content, lack of PDF reproduction when web content displayed, screwball formatting display, etc., all of which has been remedied by the mere installation of Firefox 4.0.1.
How do I get the PDF Convert feature of Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.4.4, which converts a web page to an interactive PDF, to set up and work on Firefox 4.0.1?

You can not do that using Adobe Acrobat 9. Adobe never made a create PDF add-on for Firefox for use with Adobe Acrobat 9. They created a Firefox add-on for use with Acrobat X, but currently that one does not work with Firefox 4 though Adobe are working on an update.

You can download the trial version (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html) to convert the PDF back to WORD if you do not have the original. The conversion may not be perfect, but it is typically better than starting from scratch. You may be lucky and get a good result. You might check the settings (in the save screen) to try retain format versus retain text flow. The format version can be a pain to edit since it creates a bunch of text boxes. The flow version may require you to reformat in WORD, but you likely would want to do that anyway.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro: Message "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display page correctly.

    Hi everyone,
I posted this in September: "Over the past week, I have received pdfs from 2 different graphic design contractors that do not open correctly in Acrobat 9 Pro. There is an error in the document and when I scroll to the page where the error is, I get: "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person hwo created the PDF document to correct the problem." I did this, and the contractor remade the pdf 3 times, and I still couldn't open it. This contractor is already using CS5. For the problem today, I haven't asked for it to be remade yet--decided to see if I could find out if anyone else is having the same problem. The second contractor is using CS4. The only thing that I have done differently at my end over the past week is upgrade CS4 to CS5. I already had Acrobat Pro 9 so I didn't update it when I updated my CS5 products. Should I have upgraded Acrobat 9 anyway? Somehow, it doesn't feel right that this is the problem. Any info on this would be appreciated."
I got one response from that posting, suggesting that the pdf was corrupted over email. That wasn't the problem.
What I didn't say above is that whenever I got an error message upon opening the pdf and clicked OK, I got another message: "Insufficient data for an image." I found that one or all of the images in the pdf were missing. Upon further investigation, the contractor and I found that sometimes the error message pointed to a specific font used--that being a Helvetica Bold font. Once we substituted it with a Helvetica Neue LT Std Adobe Opentype font, we no longer had an issue.
However, the problem rose it's ugly head today--what, 6 months later! I'm talking about 2 different pdfs this time.
For PDF#1, I got this error message about the font: "Cannot extract the embedded font 'JNAGNS+HelveticaNeueLTStd-Bd'. Some characters may not display or print correctly."  When I click OK, I get another: "Insufficient data for an image." The images don't show up in the pdf. What I don't understand about this pdf is that this is one of those that was fixed in September. The only changes made in the document was to paragraph text--none to the text in the images. When I opened the revised pdf today, I am getting the same message again. This makes no sense.
I returned to my September blog to see if any further advice had been posted, but nada--not even anything from Adobe about it. I goggled until I found where someone suggested running a "Report PDF syntax issues" analysis in Preflight. I did that and even though the analysis showed the pdf passed, I checked the fonts in the list and saw that the one pointed to in the error message showed that a long list of glyphs were missing on both pages of the pdf. I have asked my contractor to replace her font with a new one, in case it has gotten corrupted. Haven't a new pdf to open yet.
Then when I opened PDF#2, I got the message: "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person hwo created the PDF document to correct the problem." When I ran the "Report PDF syntax issues" analysis in Preflight, I found got this warning: "Invalid operand(s) for operator (1 match on 1 page)". I clicked through and under "Page Description Errors/Invalid operand(s) for operator", it identifies Operator Name, Stream State, Operators Read, and Traversal Path. Under "Trigger Values" is says "Invalid operand(s) for operator: is true". None of this means a thing to me so I can't figure out what the problem is.
Let me say this: Both the contractor and I are using CS5 and Acrobat Pro 9, on Lion. If it helps, the contractor also sent one of the problem pdfs back in September to my boss who is running Acrobat Pro 9 on Windows 7 and she got the same messages.
Does anyone out there have a suggestion for us? PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thanks to all for posting suggestions. As it turned out, the contractor who was having a problem reinstalled Acrobat 9. She works from home and is emailing the pdfs to me. Things were running smoothly until this past week, when the problem started again. Whenever I get a pdf that won't open properly or print, I asked her to zip it and it is no longer a problem. Last week, I had the same problem start with a contractor in Florida and she also zips the pdf when there is a problem. Now I am thinking the problem might be at my end. I wonder if something is happening to them when they come through our firewall at work. I asked IT about it before but they didn't have a clue what the problem might be. Right now, zipping is the answer...who knows how long that will continue to work.

  • Reinstalled Acrobat Pro 8.1.6 won't let me print web pages to PDFs

I'm really ticked at Adobe's "help" in updating the program only to cause a lot of misery.  I'd read Acrobat had a security update, and got a constant reminder from Adobe update to install the available update.  I've been using Acrobat Pro 8.1.6 with absolutely no problems printing web pages to PDFs.  I installed the 8.1.7 update which immediately disabled Acrobat completely.  So I wasted a lot of time uninstalling Acrobat and reinstalling sequential versions to get back to 8.1.6.  Now I can't print web pages to a PDF.
I had NOT done anything else to installed programs in the meantime, except that probably Norton has automatically updated antivirus files in the background.  I don't have any problems using Acrobat to open and print an existing PDF, or to create new PDFs from my scanner.  I can do a hardcopy print of a webpage by selecting my Brother printer.  From Word 2002 and Excel 2002, I can create a PDF by "printing" to Acrobat as usual.   The only problem is creating a PDF by "printing" a webpage by selecting Acrobat as the device from the list of available printers.  This problem happens both with Firefox and with Internet Explorer 7.
I have Windows XP Pro SP3.  I did the most recent Windows Tuesday security update several days before messing around with Acrobat and did not have any problems printing PDF files from Firefox or IE7.  So, it seems like it's clearly an Adobe Acrobat problem.  I get the small box saying "Preparing to Print" which goes nowhere and then I have to use the Task Manager to get out of the loop.  That closes Firefox, and when I reopen Firefox, the same webpage comes up.
