White pages in pdf

When i distilling from ID CS3 on Leopard 10.5.2 a document then i have white sides in my pdf and acrobat say that an graphic error ist occurred.

How to get rid of blank white page next to cover page when converting an indesign file into a pdf flip book

Hey Everyone,
I created an catalog using indesign and now I want to convert that into a pdf flip book. I have exported it as a SWF then changing the SWF back into a pdf. It works great however, I keep getting a blank white page next too my cover page, and I really don't want this. I find it very distracting and visually unappealing. Is there any way to get rid of this blank white page? Or any other suggestions on how to create a flip book out of an indesign file.

It sounds as if you're not checking the pagination properties of the chapter after the problem within the book file.
The book file settings always trump the component file's settings.
So this would mean that, if Chapter 3 is set in the book file to start on a Right page, the book enforces this by adding a blank page to Chapter 2.
You should be able to fix this by selecting all the component chapters in the book, right-clicking and setting all the pagination properties to start on Next Available page, but I don't have 7 on this system so I can't give you the exact key strokes.

Thanks CtDave, for the further info. Unfortunately, those suggestions are not working, which is strange.
....Until last week, I used to make multi-page PDFs straight from Photoshop: File > Automate > Make PDF. One simply choses the files, orders them, and creates a PDF. (Resolution doesn't matter; 300 DPI is no problem.) However, my new Photoshop CS5 does not have the option in Automate.
What I've done, seeing as Acrobat is letting me down, is use Bridge (new to me) to create the PDF. It worked without a problem, but seems like more work than the old PS method. I will download a newer version of Acrobat to see if that makes any difference.
.....Also, thanks Test Screen Name: I agree with you that jpeg is irrelevant, and that one can make a PDF from Photoshop (Print > Save As - pdf). But that only works for SINGLE PAGE pdf, not multiple pages as far as I can tell.

Help Please - Pdf shows/ reads some white pages when opened by some people

I have made a pdf book of my artworks ( on a mac) and have a major problem. When I send it out, some people are able to read everything but others get a couple of white blank pages when they view the pdf online or download it or sometimes only either one. It seems to always be the pages that are just black and white...
However when i try to open the same file i sent them but on my computer at home( MAC) or at work(PC), it works fine.
But on my Iphone, i get the same problem as these people with the same pages turning blank...
All Pages of the book were made in photoshop. I saved them as pdf individually before combining everything to a pdf book and i had this problem. Then I tries to save all in jpg and then convert and combine them to a pdf book, still get the same problem.... Some people get white pages....
Help much appreciated.

When I open a pdf file of a power point presentation on my computer it shows white pages only (file is 6MB). When the same file is opened on another computer it is fine. I am on Wndows 7 using Acrobat Reader X 10.1.4

Is this a single pdf or all pdfs. What version of Acrobat are you
running and which version of the OS? The fact that you can see the pdf
in preview and not Acrobat 8, is no guarantee that the pdf is not
corrupt. It is quite common that what can be be viewed in earlier
version of Acrobat, is considered corrupt in later versions. Adobe
continually tightens the enforcement of pdf standards in rendering pdf
files. This is done for many reasons, but the best reason to do so is
security. People have found ways to use these loopholes to compromise
the security of computers.

Acrobat does not support an automated way of doing this directly. You can
remove completely blank pages (pages that don't have any "marking
objects"), but a scanned page does contain an image, so Acrobat won't help
you here. There are a number of 3rd party applications and plug-ins
available. Try a Google search for

This will bring up a few different solutions.
Another way is to use JavaScript to find text. You say that these documents
are OCRed, so if you have a blank page, it should not have any text on it.
With some JavaScript, you can identify pages that don't contain text. This
may however fail if you have a page that contains just e.g. a photographic
image. There won't be any text, but the page is certainly not blank.

When I export PDFs from Illustrator CC my files are coming out as white pages.

I've never had this issue before. I recently updated to Mac OS Yosemite and now this is happening. Mac OS Preview will see the files as created in Illustrator, but Adobe Acrobat will open them as White Pages.

Save as>PDF>Illustrator Default (I've also tried High Quality Print)

Try opening it with Adobe Acrobat Reader.

What exactly do you mean by print page? Do you send the file to a printer? I did a quick test with print to cups-pdf and print to file, and both worked as intended. Did you setup a physical printer besides cups-pdf?

Pages to PDF export and text not showing

I exported a pages document from Pages to PDF and I can not see the text???
Font is Tex Gyre Adventor and it is in the color white with a shadow and a tangerine box backdrop

I'm not sure exactly why this happened, but I think I might have some reasons why.
Maybe try changing the color of your text to another color instead of white and see if that works. Or maybe try changing the background from tangerine to something else and see if anything changed once it is converted to a PDF.
Another reason is maybe you did it completely wrong when you converted it. I'll explain how to, incase you completed any steps incorrectly.
1) At the top of your screen, press "File" then "Export". At the top, make sure the "PDF" option is selected and not anything else like "Word" or "ePub" or any of the other options.
2) Select the image quality. Perhaps adjusting this to "Best Quality" rather than just "Good" will help in being able to see the white text. I don't know, just a suggestion.
3) Press "Next" which should be flashing in a light blue color.
4) Save your PDF where you want it and call it what you want.
5) Now press "Export"
6) Open the PDF document and see if anything changed.
Sorry if I haven't been much help but just see if that works.
Another thing I will suggest is to try printing it out and seeing if the text is visible and that might help out.
I'd also suggest, finally, start all over again with converting and follow the steps above, and see if anything changes.

Am looking at exporting the Form view on APEX to be exported to PDF.

In order to get a PDF, you need to generate a Report....in PDF format.
If you are using the APEX Listener, you can initiate the download of the PDF by calling APEX_UTILS.download_print_document() (I normally place this in a Process)
BUT -- You have to create the Report (under Shared Components) and a Template (also under Shared Components).
The white paper in my first post gives you the HOWTO "[Create] Custom PDF Reports with Oracle Application Express and the APEX Listener".
Start by creating a Report (in Shared Components, bottom right) that uses a simple SQL statement like:
Select * from emp where empno = :P15_EMPNO
You may need to hard code the parameter before you hit "Download XML" button.
The XML that you get from clicking "Download XML" satisfies the "Step 1 - Create an XML Data Source" found on Page 11 of the document.
The rest of the instructions is in that whitepaper.

Small tablix causes extra page in pdf

A small tablix causes an extra white page in a pdf. When removing the tablix the white page also disappears.
The report is in landscape , first column of the tablix 2,13cm and the repeating column header is 1,2cm. How tall or small i set these properties, as the tablix obviously takes only 1/3th of the report width when previewing the report, still whitespace seems
to be rendered causing an extra white space.I have included the tablix in a rectangle but it does not seem to help.
Any idea?

According to your description, I have taken a sample test in my environment. I can reproduce it when the width size is not appropriate in the report. To fix this issue, please refer to the following steps:
Click on Report > Report Properties window.
Make a note of the values for Page width, Left margin, Right margin.
Click on Body > Body Properties window.
Make a note of the value for Width.
Please make sure that Body Width + Left margin + Right margin <= (Page width). When we see blank page being rendered it is almost always because the body width plus margins is greater than the page width.
Besides, if the tablix is a matrix, because of the column group can expand to multiple columns, we should according to the following rule:
Body Width + Extra expanded column width + Left margin + Right margin <= (Page width).

Printer regonizes Black/white page as color page

When we print a Word document to a PDF file with the Acrobat printer, pages that contain only Black/White information but with an image that looks as if it is Black/White, the printer recognizes the page as a color page. When we print this page with Word directly to the printer, the page is recognized as a Black/White page.
Are there color setting available which control the setting for gray scale images to be printed Black/White?
