White Pixels occuring in Web Pages

I've got white little speckles showing up in my web pages and they are most certainly not in the photos or JPGs when I export them. I am shooting RAW and running this on PC/XP.
You can see an example here: http://jensenstudiosnyc.com/photography/pagancolor/content/Pagan_001_large.html
Thoughts?

Same here when DL'd display in image viewers or IE7 is ok if DL'd image displayed.
For grins-and-yuks, I cranked up an XP virtual machine and used IE7 on it with the same results. The dots are all in exactly the same locations as well. Then I booted a Win98 virtual machine and used IE6. The dots were gone in all but 1 photo, Pagan-003. It had only 3 dots, where in IE7 it had dozens. I expected to see fewer in others under IE6, but with a quick scan, they seem to be gone in all but that one photo.
Sure seems like an IE7 problem like you say.

  • White box loads over web pages

Upon loading up any website i am also greeted with a white box that covers almost all of the screen with a X in the top right, as if it was an advertisement but it's just white. it happens on every page e.g. Amazon, Youtube, Facebook. At first i thought it was a virus but Avast detects no threats, I have also tried restoring my Laptop to an earlier date, and it still occurs. I have a picture but I don't know if i can post it on here so there's a link:

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

  • GIF 1x1 pixels instead of web page

I just installed 10.6. Now I am getting a lot of strange errors when I surf.
In both Firefox and Safari, when I try to access some pages/sites online, I just get a "GIF 1x1 pixel" blank screen.
I tried dumping cookies/cache, no dice.
    Suggestions?

One that is consistently broken is http://www.facebook.com/advertising/?src=pf
    and
    http://www.google.com/ads/analyticsoffer
(I run our company's ad campaigns, so this is a major issue!)
I have encountered several other sites that do this, mostly news sites. I'll try to dig some up.
I looked at my firewall traffic and found no blocked sites; the word "ad" is not blocked, nor is advertising. The page worked perfectly fine right up until the day I upgraded to 10.6; now I can't open it in firefox or safari. I can access it on a PC, which means it's clearly something about my computer....
It just...doesn't display. and gives me the random gif.

  • F4140 Pringting blank page from web pages & pdf

My F4140 is working and printing but is printing blank pages when I try to print from a PDF.  I just tried to print a word document and it only printed the black and white section and left the color sections blank.  It is also only printing the  black and white portion of a web page and not the color portion (tried to print a one-time coupon).
I have done an alignment, cleaned the print heads and my ink levels are fine.  The self-test print page prints both in color and black and white just fine.   I tried the print as image and it still came out blank.  The copier works just fine, too.
Apparently it is not printing anything that is in color. Any idea on what the problem is and how to fix?

    Hello @Blue-is-me,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! I understand when you try to print from Webpages and PDF documents they are printing in black and white. You have done and alignment, and cleaned the printheads with no success. To better help you can you please let me know the following information:
    1. What is your current Operating system, Windows or Mac and which version?

  • Long Delay Before Web Pages Start to Load, Then Load Suddenly Normally

I've been experiencing some problems with my internet connection here for the past couple of days.
This article from Apple support sums the problem up as far as I can tell: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106799
"This document discusses two causes of a situation in which a delay occurs before Web pages begin to load, followed suddenly by page loading at normal speed. The same delay may also be noticed for TCP/IP applications other than Web browsers."
However, their solution does not work. My DNS Servers box is empty as I have no DNS server to put in there (should I? I don't recall ever having anything there). The article is lacking in the fact that it doesn't explain what we should do if we don't have anything in that box (or we don't know what to put).
I did not change any settings before this started happening. The only thing I did was install Opera. I tried uninstalling Opera and the problem didn't go away. It happens on Opera, Firefox, and Safari. I can't for the life of me figure this out. I have even re-flashed my router firmware just to see if that was the problem, and nothing.
Any help would be nice. Thanks!

  • Building web page centered with border

Hello. I am using Dreamweaver CS4.
I want to build a site where the website is a fixed width
centered on the browser window when launched. The website will have
a white background on which I will put text and images. I want to
design the site for 1024 px width. Any area outside the 1024 should
be a light grey, creating a border on the left and right of the
white background of the web page, so if you have a higher
resolution setting on your monitor, you see this border vs. just
more white space. If the browser window is minimized, the
horizontal scroll bar should appear once it is minimized close to
the 1024 px size is reached, with the webpage not changing in size.
Please provide guidance on the following:
    1) Should I site up the site using the fixed width centered
layout, with the background color set to white and the size set to
    1024?
    2) I read about "viewport" in some of the discussions in the
forum. How does this come into play?
    3) How do I set up the webpage to show a light grey border on
the left and right of the page if the screen resolution is higher?
    Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

If you maximize your browser on an 800px screen, you have
    about 760px of
usable width. Similarly, on a 1024px screen, you have about
    980px of usable
width. Those are the two target numbers.
The whole "how wide" thing is driven by the (perhaps
    unconscious) desire not
to have horizontal scrollbars unless absolutely necessary,
    since those are
    regarded as a 'non-friendly' thing.
    That's the significance.
    > I have been using 800 as a standard just because it
    seemed to fit well
    > within most screens I get to view them on
Not on an 800x600 screen - you get horizontal scrollbars.
The next resolution step up from that is 1024, and yes, an
    800px wide screen
will fit within many viewport widths on a 1024px screen, but
    not if your
    viewport width is < 800px.
The thing is this: If you want to do the 'voodoo' thing and
    guess - go
right ahead. Nobody will stop you. If you want to have a
    reason, then this
    would be a good one.

When attempting to access a specific web site on my iPad http://www.sggplastering.co.uk the page seems to load then quickly disappears (resembling a white web page). Other sites seem fine.

Thanks so much for addressing my question. Note that the site (www.xula.edu) was working with Safari this morning, but not this afternoon. I also have now been able to access it with Chrome (remember I could not access the site with Chrome initially). Essentially one time while the site was loading on Chrome I clicked another link on the site and opened a new tab for the link- the original page then loaded and now continues to load. I've been trying to do the same with Safari but the page loads and "goes to white" to quickly.
Other notes: I've powered off my iPad (did not help) and restarted my iPad (also did not help). I can also access all other links (to other www.xula.edu related pages on the site using Safari - I find them via a google search)- it's just the home page that loads then goes to "white screen" very quickly. Thanks again for your reply - any help/advice provided is greatly appreciated.

  • How do i get Firefox to print web pages in black and white only (colors are interpreted in grayscale and some are too light to be read)?

i have a black and white laser printer. Firefox prints web pages by sending color images to my printer. The printer uses greyscale to interpret the colors. i really want Firefox to send black and white images to my printer, because with greyscale some of the colors are translated to print that is too light to be seen clearly.
    Can this be done?

  • Thin White Line Or Border Around Web Page

    Hi
I do not know if this is my table because I have added the following code to the table in the page to stop this from happening...
    width="100%" height="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0"
Yet there is still still a white border going around my web page?
I also have added this to the body code in CSS:
    body
    margin-top:0px;
    margin-right:0px;
    margin-bottom:0px;
    margin-left:0px;
    Any advice?

Could you post a link to your test page so that we can view it in our browsers.
    Thanks.

  • Get rid of bright white background on web pages

I need to change the background color behind text to something other than bright white to lessen the eye strain I'm experiencing. Although I can change the color in Windows 7, when I'm online web pages still have that white background, and for older eyes this is a problem.

You could try Options>Content>Fonts and Colors>Colors>Background.
Play around with this for a while. There aren't many suitable colors but I use a creamy white for blank pages. You can check or uncheck "Allow pages to use their own colors . . ."

  • How do I get rid of those annoying white-on-black "?" marks that pepper the text on some web pages

They don't appear in IE. "?" characters are on diamond shaped black background and overwrite characters underneath making it difficult to read the text.

A diamond indicates a problem with the font or the content of a web page. You get a diamond if the page uses an 8 bit encoding and the character can't be mapped. A possible cause is that the text was copied from another (Unicode) source and pasted on that website. IE probably shows a white box or nothing in such a case. It is also possible that the page is send with the wrong encoding by the server.
Can you post a link to a page where you see that?

  • Insert .oam files that scale without leaving white space below them inside a web page

    Hi All,
Does anyone have a way to get .oam files to scale inside a web page without leaving all the white space below them when they are scaled in a fluid web page design?
I've done this in other web pages without using .oam files and inserting the whole html file and stage, but I need this to work with multiple areas inside a web page for which .oam files seem to be the only solution.
Thanks for your time, any solutions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi Meenakshi,
Thanks for your reply, the blog tutorial you're referencing however uses the HTML files and doesn't use .oam files, which is my problem, as I need to insert more than one edge element on the page.
Alternatively if there is a way to insert two "stage" HTML edge elements into a page using the method referenced above, this would be a suitable solution also. I've tried inserting more than one HTML file / stage where they are of different stage sizes and had no luck creating a second "stage_02" etc to acheive this so far.
    Thanks again for your reply,
    Cheers,
    Jeff

  • Creating an Aperture web page from photos the page goes white and nothing displays. Is this a RAM issue?

I have just purchased an iMac 27" 2.7GHZ running OSX 10.7.4 with 4GB RAM (16 GB has been ordered). I am using Aperture 3.3.2. When I attempt to create a web page from photos the page goes white and nothing displays. Is this a RAM issue?

I have resolved the issue....turns out that, in my case, running OSX 10.8.1 with Aperture 3.3.2 was what was required! I was running Aperture 3.3.2 with OSX 10.7.x and had this issue.
I hope this helps someone else as well.

You will need a 3rd party image editor that can seletively remove the background and let you create a transparent background png file. Maybe with a drop shadow (or not) something like this:
A photo of me during one of my therapy sessions.   If you have Pages (part of iWork) you can also make transparent background images with the Alpha tool..
