White/Red Rectangle

I have been working on a project in InDesign CS6 for months and most of these pages are that old. However yesterday this appeared every time I printed (I have printed this thing a million time before without issue). I don't recollect doing anything to change these pages to evoke the change. Every page with this set up has a box in the same exact spot other pages are fine. No idea what to do or what I would have done to cause this. This is my first post so any info you may need let me know!

Just checked and they are clean. Thanks for the tip though. They are fine on screen but print with that rectangle. It's strange

    A little box has appeared on the right side of the preview screen. It has a small red rectangle in a larger gray rectangle. You can move around the red rectangle to crop the frame.

    no, you don't crop the video.
    It is just shown, when you set your preview window to a setting which doesn't 'fit'. Then, the red rectangle indicates which part of the whole frame you see; or, drag it to a part you like to see.
    Set your  Preview window to a smaller size (like '50%' or simply 'fit') = no red cross rectangle.

  • MacBook Display flashes white, red, blue, grey when starting up.

    This problem just started yesterday when I turned on my Mac. It made the apple sound and then it went to a blue screen then started flashing white, red, blue, grey and then a few grey patterns. It went away last night when I left it on for about 5 minutes and when I restarted it there was no problem. However when I turned it on this morning it had happened again. I have no idea what the problem could be. Anyone had this problem before or have any advice? The Mac is 1.5 years old.

    Try resetting the SMC - might help, cannot hurt.

    This is a coercion dot, meaning that the datatype is not right and labview needs to coerce the data. Many times, this is not really a problem. What is in the cluster? Is it a type def?
    In what way doesn't it work well?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
    When it says restore the iPid via recovery mode, try placing n recovery mode and restoring several times.

    Hi, Does anybody know how you acheive that effect of black, white and red (eg. like in sin city)?

    Sin City was shot by applying a special paint/dye to objects they wanted in color. Then Rodriguez isolated these objects in his NLE (I don't remember what he used), and desaturated everything else.

  • Picture won't show up in my Photo Album; big white blank rectangle space

    There is a picture of Sammy Lee, the Olympic Gold Medalist diver, that refuses to show up in one of my Photo Albums on Safari.
    I have done everything that everyone has taught me. I have cleared the cache many times. I have clicked onto a site ourside my own site (actually Allyson's site about the tips for iWeb). I have published all to .Mac. The photo still shows up as a white rectangular space.
    It is not like other times when a photo doesn't show up, because in those cases, there is a question mark in a blue box. With this case, there is no question mark inside a blue box. There is only a white space where the picture would be/was.
    I even went back to iPhoto and put in another copy of that picture, all to no avail.
    QUESTION:
    What else can I do to make the picture show up on my Photo Album page?

    I think it could be the comma causing the problem, actually. Here is a line from the slideshow.html file

    The colon has transferred ok, but there are a lot of commas used in the code to call up the photos in the slideshow and the comma in the file name (and, possibly, the caption) could be causing some problems.
    I don't know enough about this to know for sure (need to consult a higher source...), but it sure couldn't hurt removing it to see if it helps.

    is there a way to add a rectangle to a PDF that is filled with colour?
    I need to edit a PDF and I want to "black out" some section.
    Adding a rectangle works, but I was not able to find a way to have the rectangle filled.
    Is this possible?

    I am really technologically retarded, it took me ages to get the screenshot and to get here.
    My preferred browser is Firefox, but this problem makes me use Chrome and IE,

    1. Try doing a hard reset:
    Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
    2. If that doesn't solve the issue, backup the device and restore it as new.
    In that case, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
    NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.

  • How Do I Reduce (or Eliminate) the "White" Part of a Two-Colour Gradient?

    I've spent some time of late attempting to conquer what I call the "Gradient Monster", by which I mean that the concept of gradients did not come across that easily to me.
    Fast-forward to this morning. I've created a simple two-colour gradient using the New Gradient Swatch option in the Swatch panel in Adobe InDesign CS5.
    My left stop colour is Red (CMYK 0, 100, 100, 25) and my right stop colour is Dark Red (CMYK 15, 100, 100, 70)
    If I have correctly grasped the concept of a gradient, any object's interior (fill) that I swatch using a particular gradient should blend from one stop colour to the next, with transitional colours in-between.
    If I select linear gradient, the transition runs along a single linear axis from one point to another. If I select radial gradient, the transition runs from the center of the object outward. I can reverse both a linear and a radial gradient by simply clicking "Reverse" in the Gradient panel.
    Now to my question.
    When I apply the above gradient, what I should see is the selected object filled with the applied gradient, with - for the sake of argument - stop-colour #1 on the left and stop-colour #2 on the right. I don't see that effect, however.
    Instead, what I see is stop-colour #1 (Dark Red) on the left and a faded (white) red colour on the right. What I want to see on the right is stop-colour #2. Not a faded version of it (hence the "white").
    Put more simply, why am I seeing a white-faded stop colour at all? And how can I rid my gradient of this effect?
    The above image shows my gradient. Notice the faded "white" part on the left; it should be red, not faded red. The dark red on right is just fine.
    This image is from an MS-Word document; it's how I would like the gradient to look: dark red on one side, red (or bright red) on the other. No fading.
    Any suggestions?

    Simply select the rectangle. Use the gradient tool to draw a gradient from one end to the other. Likely is white to black like below.
    Open the gradient panel. Right-click on one end stop. Add to swatches.
    I add gradients to the swatches to make it easy to update/change.
    Double-click on the new swatch. You'll get the following dialog box:
    Change to CMYK.
    Change one end stop.
    Change the other:
    I didn't rename it, but I do in practice.

  • JWindow shows up as an empty rectangle

    Hi everyone.
    I have a class which is a subclass of JDialog. When the user clicks the OK button on the dialog, I want to display a "please wait" message while I am doing some processing.
    I tried displaying this window by using a JWindow class. The problem is that the window appears as an empty white background rectangle and is not showing the message.
    Here is the code I am using in my OK event handler:

    The thing is that if I use InvokeLater then JVM invokes the thread only after I finish my processing - I see the JWindow after I finish all my processing. On the other hand, if I use InvokeAndWait I get this exception:
    java.lang.Error: Cannot call invokeAndWait from the event dispatcher thread

  • Graphics turning Red or Black after a while for no apparent reason?

    For some reason every time I import graphics to the library they are fine. But when I put them on the stage (there's about 30 of them in each of different keyframes) they seem to be replaced by black or red rectangles. In the library, they are fine, and when I export them as a .MOV they are sometimes fine. If I export them as an .AVI, however, they remain red and black. It's not all of the graphics, but the longer that I am in Flash, the more of them turn red.
    I can't tell if it's one corrupt file or a corrupt installation, but it's been on three computers: a terrible laptop with Windows 7, a Mac, and a modern desktop with Windows 8.
    Can anyone fill me in on what might be the cause or possible solutions? (or ways to diagnose it?)

    My best guess is that you're somehow bumping up against a size limit like this Size limits | SWF, bitmap files | Flash Player 10. I know you're not using the Flash Player, but it's possible that since that limit is known there are limitations in the IDE that are related to it. Have you tried splitting your images into smaller pieces and combining several in the same Graphic symbol?
