White screen and very hot

i have a ipod touch 3rd generation 8gb ( i cant remember what IOS it is running but i know it recent 4.something)
last week my ipod chrashed and became unresponsive i did soft reset on it ( holding down the sleep/wake button and the home button )
half way through the rebooting process it got the white screen again i also noticed that the back and home button had became very hot allmost to hot to touch i tried every thing to get rid of it i even left it for 15 min but in the end i had to soft reset it again.
this time it said it was out of battery so i plugged it in.
it booted and came to the lock screen then it froze and got the white sceen.
this happens every time it boots.
i cant reset it as i cant keep it connected to my computer long enought for itunes or my computer to reconise it before it frezes again
and i cant charge it as it gets a white screen and becomes very hot.
and i also cant put it into DFU mode as it frezzes before it turns on
allso my warrenty is out so i cant get a new one
some one please help me

I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. It is free (except for your time) and then should be able to ell you want is wrong and price repair.

Yesterday my iPod Touch had a white screen and was hot. I tried holding the power button and home button and it didn't work. What happened was the iPod was off. I turned it on and saw it had 30% battery and then turned off wifi. I had it on a table, and came back 10 minutes and saw it was black and wouldn't turn on. I then tried to charge it and the screen became white and was really hot in the back especially. I think it was white for like an hour. I held the iPod in front of the AC to cool it down..... ..... It cooled it down and then the iPod went black ever since today. I can't seem to do anything to it...:/ My computer & iTunes do not recognize the device.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. Because of the hotness I suspect a hardware problem

Recently when clicking on Safari, it refused to open saying there were some components damaged. It was suggested I backup, remove OSX and reinstall. Now all I get is white screen and apple logo when starting. What to do?l

I Have an iMac desktop purchased in 2010 with OS X 6.1.6 and Snow Leapard. Recently after starting up, I was not able to open Safari. I checked for updates and all was well. I tried again and got a message saying Safari could not be opened because some components were damaged. After using Disk utilities to try and repair, it was suggested I uninstall OS X and reinstall from the disk. I did not at the time because I wanted to backup some info to a USB drive. But now when I startup all I get is the white screen and Apple logo and the loading symbol. What happened and How can Imfix it? I am not very tech savvy and don't know where to turn!

My Ipad Air is frozen with the white screen and apple logo. I've tried resetting it several times and that doesn't help. I tried connecting to ITunes, but it isn't recognizing the device.
The battery is fully charged, at least for now, so I am not sure what else to try.

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.

White screen and overheating

I have an iPod touch 3rd gen, and one day i hit the sleep/wake button and it went directly to a white screen. After about a minute of it being on the white screen I noticed the bottom left corner of the iPod was becoming extremely hot. I've tried to do a hard reset multiple times but no luck. Let it cool off over night and it still goes to white screen then gets hot. And with the overheating I'm afraid to plug it in incase it's the battery oveheating, cuz I don't want it to explode or somethin. So does anyone know what's wrong? Is it as simple as a shot battery or somethin else? Please help.'I've become stupidly dependent on my iPod in my day to day life.

That is not normal. Very few apps are actually running in the background. What troubleshooting steps have you taken? Have you reset the phone by simultaneously pressing the Home and power buttons until the apple appears? Restored from back up? Restored as new?

Well Barry, as for the Ram, all this while are install by apple technician since very day i bought iMac on july 2008. Just wondering What's actually went wrong..
Very first day I bought iMac, few days later, system cant even on. AppleCare Centre exchanged a new set of iMac.
two weeks later, i notice several dead pixels appearing on screen, call to log a case with them, later on, they changed a new panel.
After several months pass, been using happily with iMac... but since now, this problem occurs. So fastrating... My third time encounters problem with iMac. sign
Any suggestion? If not, I guess i have to bring this bulky iMac to applecare centre again. sign

Let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour try:
- A reset.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Connect to computer and try to retore.
- If the screen remains white and you can't trun it off then it is time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. You very likely have a hardware problem.

The new Mac's came with OS X Lion 10.7 and there are no boot disks.
Since it's so new, take it back to the Apple Store and let them deal with it.
If not you can hold Command and r (as in rotten) keys down and boot the computer.
You'll be presented with a several options, including one to reinstall OS X Lion provided you have a Apple ID, which means you have to use Safari in there to set one up. To do that you need to set up a email account with Google or Yahoo. Once you get the ID, then you can download Lion and reinstall it.
It's so stupid not having a copy of the OS on hand to perform your own repairs.
Of course Apple will be happy to sell you a $69 Lion USB stick.
Like I said, take it back to the store, and try to get your money back, that will force them to think about just giving you a replacement machine that works.
Lion doesn't work really but it can be acceptable until the patches get released.

I would start your troubleshooting with the article below for issues of not being able to log in to your Mac. Start with booting up in to Safe Boot as well as resetting PRAM on your Mac. If that does not work, then verify the hard drive with booting to the Recover HD and go to Disk Utility to verify it.

This can also be a problem with the files [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
You will have to redo App Tabs and Tab Groups after deleting sessionstore.js.

I have also the USB Device Not Recognised message, I have tried holding the power and home buttons down for prolonged period, this provokes a response from the PC ie another USB device not recognised message but nothing on screen.
