White screen bug on preview app (iMac 5k)

i have a problem with the preview app on a iMac 5K. When I try to open a picture taken with my Nikon D800 (36 Mpixels) for an half a second I can see the picture and after that time the window became white. The problem is solved if I try to open another picture: with two pictures on the same windows, everything works fine.
Anyone has experienced the same problem or have any suggestion for fix it?

White Screen (pop out preview player)

Hey everyone!
I am working on some HD video files in Mp4 format, mixed with a few JPEG HD images from my Samsung HMX-H200N as well as a mp3 audio file.
The project settings for the video is the standard HD 1080i @ 30fps (although my camera says it's a 1080i/(60)
Nothing in particular is wrong with the editing, as it is going smoothly, but once I clicked on a video in the media section to preview, set in & out markers, and insert the video preview showed up white. picture attached*. I can hear the audio when I click play but no video.
+ I checked the forums but the only ones available were for the MAIN preview screen turning white, which mine works fine if I import the videos from the media section into the timeline.
+ earlier I read about performance issues so I decided to go with BLACK VIPER'S tweaked settings for my services
+ I have also moved my scratch disks to my external drive, to which I do not know the RPM's for that HDD but it is an older Simpletech 300 GB Simple Drive
+ I also created a WINDOWS MANAGED paging file for the Simpletech drive
All of these steps taken were performed earlier this morning. And I successfully completed a project without knowing this problem existed, so that's good news. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

after updating the drivers the pop out player still did not work... so back into the services I went and Lo and Behold, there it was right in front of me!
Seems that in Black Viper's Tweaked settings he instructs you to disable WINDOWS AUDIO VISUAL EXPERIENCE, this is what was preventing the pop out player from showing anything other than the white screen.
I enabled each service one by one to check the results in Elements, and that was a job after all the disabling I did earlier... and double checked by disabling Windows A/V Experience again and got the white screen! So if you by chance use Black Viper's TWEAKED settings DO NOT DISABLE WAVE.
I am using Elements 8 updated to 8.0.1 with new dll's from Adobe
AMD Phenom II X4 810 processor 2.60 GHz
8 GB of Ram
64 bit O/S windows 7 home premium
Off subject... Do not disable HID if you plan on using your Windows RF remote control...

White Screen on iPod Touch app store, NOT ITUNES.

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation running on iOS 6 and the App Store application recently stopped working on it. Everything else is running perfectly, it still has internet connection and everything, but nothing will load on the App Store. When you open the application it's just a white screen, no loading circle or anything, you can click on the five categories on the bottom still (Featured, Charts, Genius, Search, and Updates), but they are all just a white screen, with the exception of the "Search" option. When you go to search, everything is still white, but the gray search bar is still available and when you type in items it still auto finds matches for the keyword you're searching, but when you actually press search, nothing happens.
I heard restoring the iPod might work, and that a lot of other people are having this problem, but it's happened to numerous people and I feel as if after the restore it might just come back.

Try a reset, and if that fails, try again while in the appstore. No data is erased.
To reset the device:
Hold the power button and the home button down until the device shuts off, then power it back on and see if the problem is resolved.

Design Studio 1.3 applications shows only white screen on Mobile BI App (iPad)

Hello Design Studio friends,
after upgrading or BI platform (4.1) Design Studio Add-On from version 1.2 to 1.3 we could no errors, everything works fine. But now we have the issue, that all of our Design Studio Applications do not work on iPad.
All mobile Applications are listed correctly in the overview in the Mobile BI App. But after starting one application the loading screen is running and after loading only a white screen is displayed. No data, no components, no variables screen etc.
Do you have any idea about the reason of our problem?
Here some additonal information, what we have done:
After upgrade we restartet the BIP and checked that all services are running.
We saved new Design Studio 1.3 Applications on BIP.
We run the Design Studio Applications local (everything works) over BIP on Desktop clients (everything workds), via Mobile BI App (iPad iOS7, newest iOS Version and newest App version) (only white screens are shown).
We deleted all metadata on iPad and reconnected to our BIP.
Our DataSources, integrated in the Design Studio 1.3 applications, are based on SAP BW Queries of a BW 7.4 system.

I deleted the mobile BI App from my iPad and installed it again (newest version).
No changes, after loading the Design Studio Application only a white screen is shown.
I cannot find a relevant Part in the App protocol (Debug Mode).

White screen during shut down on iMac after installing maverick

After installing maverick my imac cant shut down and it stuck on white screen , and i have to push the turn on button every time to switch it off.
I have an imac with osx 10.9, 3,06GHZ Intel core i3 with 8gb 1333MHZ DDR3 ram.
Any idea what is going on and what to do to fix the problem?

I have had the same problem, and connected it to a problem with Western Digital HD software. I use an external WD HD for time machine purposes.
I then uninstalled all the HD software, and it now seems everything works fine. You may try this. Ref this article:

White Screen and No Bluetooth. Imac and Apple support, Terrible

I have an imac that is less than 6 months old. It now white screens upon start up and takes for ever to load, and then does not display any bluetooth icon and no mouse will be noticed via bluetooth. I re-installed the OSX, became anxious and lost all my work creating a new install after the re-install did not work. I have protection cover and they did the usual over the phone in the way of the obvious key commands. Nothing changed. I was then told someone would call me back in half hour, no one did. I did not use Time Machine for any back up and now have a new install with none of my old software and still the same problems. I used to build PC's for professional people and never a problem. I use a Mac and it falls apart after 6 months? I know that quietly imac has had lately many issues swept under the carpet. The main culprit was the cheap hard drives installed. I would imagine now after what I have seen that this hard drive made by Hitachi is just as bad.
The main key commands, un-plugging cables and so on does not work here. I have nothing but a large screen that is in all respects nothing more than a cheap machine with a nice brand name. I think it is wrong that we pay for machines that are by chance, not exactly ready for people to actually use in the real world? To many people have the same problem and when we ask if we can have our warranty extended, we are told "No". I think this is unfair. All we ask is that Apple makes machine that, "Work". Ok, I know that some will always have the odd problem but here with this situation, one need only google white screen to see the cover up. Do not make machines with cheap parts for top end prices and make us feel as customers as if it is either a, shock that it has happened as Apple is far to cool, or that we are to blame due to our lack of understanding.

Have you tried booting from your restore disk and checking the disk for errors?
Is this one beep you hear or multiple? Could be bad RAM.

I'm getting a white screen when I launch my imac

Hello - I can't get my hard drive to launch. I tried unplugging the cord and restarting. I get the Apple tone but no Apple icon. Just goes to white screen.

Reseting your device may help in this case. Just follow the instructions below.
Before reseting, remember to make a backup of your phone with Nokia Suite.
Dial *#7780# to soft reset your device, this will return the phone to factory settings without removing any personal data. If this does not solve the issue, hard reset your phone.
Dial *#7370# to hard reset your device. Hard reset will remove all settings and personal data off the phone, so remember to backup your data first.
When prompted for the security code, default code in both cases is 12345.

Restore screen captures from Preview app

I have had to wipe my drive clean and re-install the OS. Before it was re-installed, I had quite a few Preview screen captures that I forgot to save to the drive. When I would quit the app, they would re-appear, so they were being retained somewhere. Is there any way to restore those images from my backup? I can't restore the app as the software won't allow it, and I can't open the backup in Time Machine. Is there any way to get those images back? TIA,

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select

White Screen whilst using downloaded apps

When using apps (usually games) but sometimes facebook etc. The screen starts to flicker then goes totally white. Black lines the start to form and I have to press the home button and the on/off button to power down. Usually if I wait long enough it'll turn back on as normal but sometimes the screen is still white.
Anyone else had this problem and how to solve it??

I'm going to guess that something else has changed on your system, perhaps during the period when you were making your changes, that somehow influences the building or running of LabVIEW executables. Are you developing under Windows? Has there been an update applied recently? Did you install something else, or update any drivers, recently?
What happens if you take executable, and run it on another PC with the runtime engine installed?

"App Error 523" on White Screen

I have plugged my phone into the charger after it had fully ran out of battery, only to watch the handset turn on and inform me of 4 text messages and 20 missed calls seconds before the white screen with the messaged "App Error 523" appears.
After choosing to reset the same happens only the amount of missed calls has went up by 4. I have tried on various occasions throughout the day and it just keeps addin 4 calls each time before returning to the white screen.
I have searched the Forums already and do not use Desktop Manager, therefore have no current back up.
Can you suggest how I remedy this quickly without a full factory reset losing all the information as it is a works phone?
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Ok, don't get ahead of me and do something you will regret first, like losing your contacts.
FIRST, make sure you have the Desktop Software installed, and backup.
Make sure the backup completes.
Watch where you save the backup file ("somename.ipd" will be the file format, most likely with today's date on it.
Once you are sure you have backed up, then you want to wipe the device and reload the operating system.
You will lose all third party applications, but those can be re-downloaded from the original source.
You will need to use BBSAK or JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:

HT1338 White screen after updating iMac with Mountain Lion

Since attempting to upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion this morning I am seeing a white screen whenever I boot my iMac. It appears to be unable to boot. I left it 30 minutes with no activity on the screen before power cycling but the issue remains. I am hearing the "power on" sound when the iMac is powered up, but it simply stays on the white screen forever, without the Apple logo that we normally see.
I have a Time Machine backing up my iMac, but am unsure how I can restore from this as I am currently unable to get the iMac to boot.
Can someone tell me what I can do to get my iMac up and running?

Had my first experience with this just now. Shut down the MBPr for it's longest off time since getting it last week (about 6 hrs) and logged in to the BSOD.
My go-to solution on any other MacBook has always been the PRAM reset.
Restart your machine. Hold down CMD+OPT+P+R before the gray screen shows up (harder now than on the older, slower machines). Keep holding it down until the startup sound plays 2 or 3 times. Then release the keys and let it boot up normally.
No idea why this works. Don't have any clue what PRAM even is or what it would have to do with all this - but it worked for me. At least this time. Maybe it won't the next!

IMac 27" 3.06ghz white screen for 40 seconds on start up before grey apple

when i start up my iMac 27" 3.06GHZ i get a white screen for 40 seconds before the grey apple appears and it boots up.

I'm new to the forum, i have recently bought a new imac 27" i7, i don't have any problems with white screens when starting up, the imac runs great, however when i try playing any games thats when the problems start. i installed X-plane it first worked without any problems but not in full resolution, i upgraded the resolution to the maximum imac resolution and from that moment every time i start the game the screen turns white you can hear the imac starting the game and even for a while sound appears, but then after 30 seconds the programs fails and you get a typical apple message.
i have also tried installing need for speed, here i didn't change anything to the graphics however the problem occurred straight away. white screen then the sound of the games menu and crash. did anyone else have this problem? is there a solution to this? i would like to apologize if this matter has been discussed in earlier forums. However i hope there is someone whom is able to give me a helping hand here. Whats wrong???? thanks ruben
