White Screen but laptop works fine

Question

Hi everyone,
I have a 18 months old white Macbook. One month ago while I was using it the screen it suddenly went totally white.
The OS is working, I can use it with an external monitor where I can perfectly see what I am doing. However, the screen is white, I can change the brigthness and everything so my guess is that maybe is a connection problem but I do not know.
I have read some similar problem on the Internet but I do not know how to solve it. I went to a official apple retailer(we do not have apple store in Spain) and they told me that it should be a problem of the screen, replace it is too expensive and I do no think he is right.
Anyone knows what to do?

1. Shut down the computer from the Apple menu.
2. Wait for the internal display to go blank.
3. Disconnect the external display.
4. Zap the PRAM following these directions:

In the future, you have up to a year from date of computer's purchase to purchase two additional years of hardware warranty support. Note this is not insurance. However, as long as you don't tamper with the computer's innards, drop it, bang it, or spill on it, you have a good chance of having the display fixed free under the program.
You can sometimes fix the screen yourself if you can find the parts, by following directions from:
