White Screen computer hard restart
I have been having this problem for some time ( I have been with apple since the Apple 2) and I have not been able to figure out what is the problem. I have put in new ram (then took it out and put the old one back in to test it) I have reset pram. My computer will heat up if it has been on for about 12 to 6 hours and then go to the white screen and says to press any key to restart your mac, or it will if I am playing a couple of hours on World of Warcraft. Windows server 2003 not working after computer hard restart
Hello, the following problem did occure. I was logged to windows server 2003, working on it, when my pc suddenly frozen, so i had no other option, than to make a hard restart of my pc. From that time, when a log into the windows server, i can see the server
desktop, but i cannot click on anything. I am hearing just the clicking sound. When i minimalize it a maximalize it back, all i can see is a black screen.
Can anyone help me, how to solve this problem ?

According to your description, my understanding is that Windows Server 2003 unable to start correctly.
You may try to restart the computer, when you see the message Please select the operating system to start, press the F8 . select the
Last Known Good Configuration, in order to start the computer by using the most recent settings that worked.
Or you may select Windows Advanced Option –> Safe Mode, check to see if this was caused by faulty drivers, programs, or services that start automatically.

White screen on auto restart following Lion "successful" installation?
After downloading Lion (about 3-4 hours) on my iMac, and after installing it (about 35 minutes), I got a big red check mark on my screen saying the installation was "Successful," and a note that said my computer would automatically restart in 10-9-8-7-6, and so forth, seconds. I watched and waited. Down to zero. Then a white screen came on with the Apple logo, and a spinning wheel. And there it has stayed. No transition to blue screen, nothing. Just a white screen with the logo and spinner.
I have manually shut down, I have unplugged the plug, and waited between times. Multiple tries. Nothing. Just the white screen, Apple logo, and spinner.The following support article is somewhat outdated. Where it refers to booting from an installation disc, you should boot from your recovery partition (if running 10.7 or later) by holding down the key combination command-R at the chime.

I opened my ipod touch but after i put it back i got a white screen and i tried everything from hard reset to restoring the ipod. please help. i never tried draining the battery but i am not sure how to do that with the screen white. Please HELP!!!
BTW i also tried the volume up+home + power button method. after all those reset, restore, methods i always get a black screen. Never a Apple Logo.
PLEASE HELP !!!If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
White Screen- New Hard Drive Same issue
I had a white screen. The MacBook Pro would do nothing. The only way I could get it to work was by pressing option when powering on but even then I tried everything reinstalling Lion. When I tried to reinstall lion it would pop up with an error message. It would not even let me choose a location. I ordered a new harddrive and I am still having the same issue. White Screen when I turn the computer on unless I press the option and power button and Still an error message when I try to reinstall lion. ANY HELP WOULD BE AWESOME!!! THANK YOU!!
If you want to preserve the data on the boot drive, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to fully boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
1. Boot from the Recovery partition or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) Launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
2. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
3. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data. -
HP 505B locking up and kicking out a frozen white screen. Hard reboot seems to fix it for awhile
So I have an HP 505B running in our office with Windows 7 Pro 32bit, intergrated nvidia graphics, and 4gbs of memory. Product number VS882UT.
It will randomly hard lock and display a white screen on the monitor. I have tried reseating all cables, replaced the monitor with a known good ( when the issue happens...still no go), replaced cables, updated the graphics drivers and also the bios. checked event logs for major errors (other than the hard shutdown event after coming back up...not much else is listed).I've also ran the onboard diags and they come back as passing. plus i've ran my own memtests over an extended period of time.
The issue doesn't happen all the time, I could go 2 weeks without an issue. No particular program ever seems to cause the issue. I have opened and cleaned all the fans and they all seem to be functioning normally. I have also reseated memory and reinstalled the OS from the factory partition.
I've ran into this issue in the past with another 505b, went through all the steps above contacted tech support and eventually had the motherboard replaced. Sounds like a good fix....it wasn't the last desktop ended up doing the same thing a month or so out. I'm running out of options to try other than going with another manufacturer. I have a lot of these desktops and i'm afraid at some point it's going to happen to all of them. Hoping maybe someone out there has had this issue as well and can recommend a permanent fix.I'm IT support at a law firm and we have ... I don't know...at least 20 505B desktops. I think they came with Windows 7 and we downgraded them to XP.
In the past 2 months, I've had at least 5 or 6 of them all start having this issue! Its like someone set off a time bomb!
The only fix thus far has been to order a standalone PCI video card and disable the onboard video.
I've tried updating the drivers from both HP's website and the Nvidia website, which does not help.
I really do not like having to keep buying new video cards for a computer that should work fine....and is out of warranty! (conveniently for HP...) -

Won't get past white screen on shutdown/restart
When I choose shut down or restart on my 2012 rMBP, it logs out and moves to the white screen. From what I've seen, for an unlimited time.
When it does this (which I think is every time), my only option is press-and-hold standby key - which I hate doing!
This has been a problem since before Mavericks. I've tried resetting pram, repairing permissions etc etc. any other advice?
Even just a list of things to check which I may have already would be appreciated so I can discount them.Been looking for a solution to this for ages and still no luck.

Need help! White screen and hard drive
I have a MacBook Pro A1211 I got off Craigslist. It needed a new logic board and hard drive so I got both. My problem is I just found out the hard drive has windows on it and when I power on the MBP all I get is a white screen. My question is is there a way to get windows off that hard drive while its installed in the MBP? I've tried every command I could find online to push when I power on the MacBook but it does nothing. I bought a copy of snow leopard 10.6 factory sealed and put it in the super drive but it just spins for a while and then stops. The fans constantly run also but I'm new to MacBook so I don't know if that's suppose to happen. I got the disk management to come up one by holding down option and power on but it didn't give me the option of choosing the SuperDrive and I can't get it back up. It's almost like the keyboard isn't working. If there's any suggestions y'all can give me I'd appreciate it.

White screen on attempted restart plus disk stuck in drive
I had to restart my iMac after uninstalling a piece of software. On the attempted restart all I get is a white screen after the usual Apple sound. I did try to restart using what I thought was the system disk, but unfortunately I inserted the Snow Leopard disk by mistake and not the system disk (entirely my fault). I now have two problems - white screen on restart and a stuck disk. I have tried holding down the mouse key, the shift key and the "C" key repeatedly but none of them work. Appreciate any suggestions.

Tried to boot my MacBook Pro (2011) and just had blank white screen. Tried to boot from Mountain Lion bootable flash drive and just get a blue screen.
Installed new hard drive. Same thing. Suggestions?After the dealer looked it over, he determined it has a bad logic board. However, searching online, I see the cause of all these 2011 MBP failures is due to the Raedon graphics card in them. Apple was replacing free for iMacs with the same part, but so far isn't doing the same for MacBook Pro's. I have emailed Apple, intend to call them, and posted on their support forum as well as other ones. FRUSTRATING.

White screen computer turns off
my macbook 2.16 intel duo running 10.6.8 has been turning itself off with a white screen, this follows weeks of fan noise that has now stopped. I have done all the basics and the hardrive is fine according to disc utility and tech tool all checks passed, I have it under ventilated the battery seems OK. I'm afraid there's no other source of AHT as it's tailored to each model.
You can try calling Apple Customer Services and see if they can still burn you a replacement pair of discs. You'll need the serial no. of the mac and a credit card handy.
Alternatives are the likes of Tech Tool Pro, but we're talking €90-€100.

Satellite P100 (PSPA6A) - White screen, freezes then restarts by itself

I have a Toshiba Satellite P100(PSPA6A) and am running Windows XP on it. Over the past month, I have had a problem with my computer where the screen turns white, it then freezes and restarts by itself.
I have taken it to a computer store to get it checked out but they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I have tried to find if any programs are the source of this problem but I have not been able to find any. My computer can be on for 10hrs before this problem occurs and it can be on for about 5mins before this probelm occurs. It can also happen during the windows loading screen before it reaches the welcome screen. If this helps, there is a slight delay from when the screen turns white and when it freezes (I have music playing in the background on several occasions where the music was still playing for a few seconds while the screen was white, and then it froze and restarted).

Did you already check the RAM by yourself using Memtest86 as Boarder suggested? I mean Memtest86 is really great for testing the RAM and if there is a problem, Memtest86 should find it.
Furthermore I would recommend checking the HDD. Therefore you can use Drive Fitness Test and Google is your friend to find it.
This program is also freeware.
In worst case you should go to an authorized service provider. Maybe its a problem of the mainboard or CPU and this can be checked from a notebook technician.
