White Screen in FireFox 3.6.15; Player 10.2.152.32

Greetings!
I am having a problem I have not seen in a while with the FlashPlayer plugin showing a white screen when displayed in FireFox. I can right-click the area where the plugin is and I get the popup menu where I can see the version and change settings. All I see is a white screen where the plugin should be.
Opening the same page in IE the plugin works.
I have checked the plugin setting in FireFox (url: about:config, search for dom.ipc). The dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll entry is "true". I see the plugin-container.exe process start when I launch a page that has Flash (i.e. YouTube, etc). If I kill the plugin-container process then the pluin screen goes black and says "the plugin has crashed".
I have tried disabling hardware acceleration in FlashPlayer settings (right-click plugin, settings, left tab). No change to behavior.
I run NoScript in FireFox but I have "allowed all" for the page I am trying to load and I have allowed abobe.com (in case it is trying to call home).
OS: Windows XP Pro, SP3, 32-bit
FireFox: 3.6.15
IE: 8.0
FlashPlayer: 10.2.152.32
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin for FireFox without any change to behavior.
Any thoughts as to why this is failing?
Thank you.

Okay, maybe we got off on the wrong foot here. Please allow me to restate the issue in a way to clear up any confusion regarding FireFox extensions and the like.
>>>
Flash Player does not work in FireFox in my current Windows profile. If I disable any extensions that manipulate JavaScript (such as the NoScript extension) then Flash Player still does not work. If I create a new Windows profile and launch FireFox then the Flash Player works as expected.
<<<
Seeking help from FireFox fourms is greeted with responses such as "this is an issue with the Adbobe plugin and not FireFox" and "why not try the Adobe forums".
So, armed with this new information, what can be done to allow Flash videos to play again? I am looking for a constructive answer outside of a) rebuild my Windows profile and b) rebuild the FireFox profile. Are there specific cookies or something that could be causing the issue? Is there something in the Flash player that can be reset? I have tried the uninstaller and then a fresh install but no luck there either.
Thank you for your time.
Answers to specefic questions:
Q" Also do you have Security set to Medium? Tools, Internet Options ...
A: Tools->Internet Options is a Microsoft Internet Explorer setting. In  FireFox it is just Tools->Options. What are you looking for in the  configuration?
Q: So with No script you need to put a website into a "trusted zone"?
A: Yes, but it can also be disabled entirely. Under both scenarios the issue still exists.
Q: Hi I didn't mean you were getting that message from youtube, just that if a user doesn't have the Shockwave Flash plugin for Flash Player or the ActiveX Control for IE would receive that message. Youtube requires Flash Player and Java Script to be working. Flash Player works thru the browsers and that is what youtube uses.
A: Yes, YouTube uses the browser...but I think you meant that YouTube uses JavaScript and the FlashPlugin. javaScript is enabled and the plugin is installed. On non-YouTube sites I get the white screen originally described. On YouTube I have a black screen if I have already viewed the video in IE otherwise I have a white screen.
Q: I do know that last year several versions of FF were having a lot of problems and had to extend the load time. They had the browser crash Flash Player instead of taking the entire FF browser down. Quicktime was included in that and I think Silverlight.
Maybe that is happening again. It does sound like it from what you are describing.
A: Yes, this is the cause of the plugin-container.exe process and all the belly-aching on the Internet that went along with it. I see the plugin-container.exe process start up in Task Manager when I attempt to play a video. if I kill the process then the Flash video control becomes visible and I see a message that the pluin has crashed. This is the expected behavior when the process is killed.
Q: With IE working, then Flash Player is Installed correctly and working as it should. This issue would be related to FF. You may want to check on their Forum. I checked last week and this latest version appeared to have some issues. I haven't had time to see if there has been any progress.
A: Latest version of what? Latest version of FireFox (3.6.15, not the 4.x in RC mode) or latest version of Flash Plugin? almost everything I have read about FireFox and Flash at the current released versions simply states that hardware acceleration in Flash should be turned off...which it is.

  • Click Firefox shortcut - 4 secs delay WITH white screen, then firefox loads, also every new tab flashes a white blank page fOR half a sec.

Firefox 31, Windows 8.1, AVG, Spybot, dusabked addins ni change, used several suggestions on internet, nothing works. changed proxy settings to manual 127.0.0.1 and port as suggested - no change, could I have an NSA reroute of firefox?

Before doing anything I started Tor Browser Bundle, then exited. Started up Firefox – no 4 secs delay, very minor delay but no white page at all it seemed. Then clicked on the Open New Tab (x) and saw a white flash then the new tab – again a .5 sec delay or less before the new tab appeared.
Shutdown computer. Restarted and clicked on Fireforx shortcut. No blank white page anymore and no delay except for a very minor one.
But still had the white page flash when loading a new tab from the small x on the current page tab. Saw a white flash, then the new tab loaded. Shut down computer, restarted same problem with the new tab click on the small x - .5 sec or less white flash then tab loads.
Went into Firefox Add-Ons and disabled a number of items. Surprise no white flash on loading new tab. Decided to enable AVG PrivacyFix 5.0.11 – miracle, no white flash at all on clicking the small x on the current tab. loaded veryfast no delay there.
Will alert AVG of this issue. But still very surprised that the original main issue of having a 4 secs delay with a completly whtie screen with nothing on it except white disappeared after launching Tor Web Browser throws me for a loop.
Have not tried BlueHell yet and wonder why I should now in addition to the fact that AVG is certainly far superior to it. But if Bluehell does a better job than AdBlocker, willing to try it.
Problem appears solved – Why did Tor fix main issue?

  • All i get is a white screen. no more firefox

all i get is a white screen no firefox

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • New Zen 8GB White Screen after l

The Issue: the player goes to white screen when "locked" and then "unlocked" while playing music. The music still plays, but the white screen does not reset until the player is shut off and then restarted.
Basically I just want to keep this issue current on these boards, and know whether it will be fixed in a firmware update. If it's a hardware problem (and therefore not fixable through firmware), I would appreciate it if Creative Labs would kindly let its customers know so that they can return their products.
Please post here if you're seeing the same issue (or better, if you know a fix!).

Ahh. The white screen. Have you reformated the player? Under creative media explorer tools, there is an option to format. Try this. If not, send it back. Here is a good forum too.

  • Zen 4Gb White screen after hold m

    Hi,
I have this problem on my zen 4gb: when I put it in hold mode, everything works fine, but when I put it back to "normal mode", then the screen becomes white. The player works but I can't see anything because it's white, I have to switch it off and then on to have a normal situation. I tried to reinstall the firmware (ver. .20.02) but nothing changed.
Someone has the same problem? Have you a solution?

  • Firefox 13 flash player not working with video (white screen)

I moved to the new 13 version, but there is a white screen where the video is supposed to run. Youtube is also showing an error (not playing video).
I thought it was the new update to the flash player, but chrome and IE are working fine so it is a firefox thing.

    Hello All,
I just spent hours figuring out a solution for this problem. THEN I noticed that Firefox had an official "response" to the issue, [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/flash-crashes-or-does-not-load-firefox-13 Here] .
I didn't try any of the 'fixes' listed in the above article, because I'd already lost my patience and reverted back to a previous version of Flash until a proper and official fix becomes available.
Here are instructions on how to revert back to an old version of the Adobe Flash Plugin.
''' I've attached pictures for all of the steps below''', as a visual reference. To be entirely honest, you may want to just look at the pictures. I tend to go into a lot of detail when typing out instructions, and the pictures may be easier to follow. :-D
'''IMPORTANT :''' First, you must uninstall the current Flash Plugin from the Programs list on your computer. For me (Windows 7), you can do this by going into Control Panel -- Programs and Features -- Find "Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin" in the programs list -- Right Click -- Uninstall.
Now, follow the steps below. Remember: pictures are attached below for visual representations of each step.
*'''Step 1:''' You need to know which version of Flash to download. Open [http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ THIS LINK] in a new tab to go to the main Flash Download page, and at the top of the screen you'll see this: '''Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.257 (9.36 MB)''', and directly under it, you'll see this: '''Your system: Windows 32-bit , English, Firefox'''. Remember this information. You will be needing it later.
**'''NOTE:''' That is just a sample. Your system could be Mac, Spanish, whatever. The point is, Adobe will let you know which system you're running, and therefore, which Flash Player you'll need.
*'''Step 2:''' After you've seen which system you're running, click on the ''''Do you have a different operating system or browser?'''' link directly below your system info.
*'''Step 3:''' A new page will appear. You DO NOT have to select your operating system or version from the drop down lists. Just look below the "Download Now" button, and you'll see a message saying ''''If your operating system/browser combination is not displayed, ''click here'' for older versions of Adobe Flash Player.'''' Click on that light blue "Click Here" link.
*'''Step 4:''' A new page will appear again. This page is titled ''''Flash Player Help / Archived Flash Player Versions.'''' When you get to this page, scroll waaay down until you get to the section titled ''''Release and Content Debugger Archives'''', (directly below the chart).
*'''Step 5:''' Click on any of the listed versions of Flash Player to download. I clicked on the topmost one (Released: 4/13/2012, Version: 11.2.202.233). Download this .zip file to your computer.
*'''Step 6:''' Open the .zip file, and install this version of Flash Player as usual. Again, I'm running Windows 7 32 bit, so from here on out, I can only provide instructions for similar Operating Systems. But I'm sure you'll get the idea.
'''For Windows 7:''' Double click on the .zip file you just downloaded to open it. One file folder will be displayed inside (mine was titled ''fp_11.2.202.233_archive''). Open this file folder.
Next, remember which 'bit' your system is running (this information was from Step 1), and click on the appropriate folder. My system is 32 bit, so I clicked on the first 32 bit folder (titled ''11_2r202_233_32bit'').
A whole bunch of files are contained in this folder. Once again, I can only speak for myself, but I chose the '''''flashplayer11_2r202_233_win_32bit'' Windows Installer Package''' file. A setup was executed, and a previous version of Adobe Flash Plugin is now installed on my system.
It's been running flawlessly ever since! YouTube works again, and though I have a huge headache, it works for now until a fix is released by Mozilla.
I don't know a lot of technical terms, but I wanted to at least attempt to explain this fix for others out there with the same YouTube/Flash/Mozilla Firefox problem. If anyone has any questions, feel free to reply and I'll certainly try to help you!

  • Whenever I attempt to watch a video of any sort full screen on Firefox my screen turns white but I can hear the video playing.

When viewing pics or videos in FireFox, when screen is enlarged to full screen, page turns white. While I can still hear audio, no picture. I have seen similar posting in problem questions, but solutions have all been closed out.

I have same problem when watching web video and going to full screen it turns white. Audio is still good. If I hit escape all goes back to viewing the video okay.
It occurs in Firefox 6.3 & 6.8.3, Internet Explorer 8, and Google Chrome. Windows Media Player WILL go to full screen okay.
I wished I could submit 2 pics: one of video and 1 of the white screen. But I can't so I'm just sending the white screen pic

  • White download screen for firefox?

    Hey Adobe!
I recently upgraded to firefox 37.0.2, but unfortunetly my adobe flash player completly crashed. I unistalled it, and then tried to re-install it on my Windows 7 pc, but when i press the "download" button, and save it, and it starts up, i get a white screen. No little bar with the loading progress, no information, just a white screen. I tried to install Realplayer in hope that it would help the progress, but nope. I am really confused. PLS help?

  • I performed the update to version 7.3.5 and now I cannot undo the update that eliminated a toolbar that I use every day. How do I recover my toolbar? With the upgrade on a windows 7 machine, whenever I open firefox I get a white screen.

Uninstall to my prior version is not working. I need to go back to the original version for two reasons. First, I can no longer use one of the toolbars that was compatible to previous version, but is no longer supported so it was disabled, and two when I try and open firefox from any short cut, I get a solid white screen and I do not get any toolbars nor is there any way to navigate to a tabbed option since I can not see anything and it just hangs there with out going to my homepage or anything else.

Do you see the menu bar or anything else? As for the missing toolbar, this is the case for 90% of Firefox users, for instance the Google Toolbar. To restore it, you need to install Mozilla's Add-On Compatibility Reporter extension from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003 and restart Firefox twice.
As for the white screen, I am not sure what you mean, but your install looks corrupted, you probably need to uninstall Firefox and reinstall from scratch. You may spend too much time and effort otherwise. Back up your settings first if you have any, like Firefox bookmarks.

I downloaded a video in a zip file, when it started the whole window went white. When I right click on the screen under properties it tells me it is a Firefox document. I rebooted to fix the problem and I saw a brief view of my wallpaper and desktop icons then back to the white screen. When I boot up or log in to the admin account (guest account is fine) I get a pure white screen. I cannot access any thing including the task bar. The only way out is to reboot and the problem repeats. I have booted with my anti virus program and it finds no problems. When I exit the anti virus program there is the brief view of the desktop and back to the white screen. HELP, I don't want to lose everything because I have to reload the OS.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Command+Shift+F).
