White screen issue on iPhone 4S?

Recently when I tried to use my iPhone the screen just turned completely white. I have no idea why. The screen is still functional in that if I receive a call, I'm still able to swipe to pick it up. I even tried a hard reset by holding the power and home button for 10 seconds and the screen shut down, but when it restarted the screen was still white.
I tried connecting the phone to my computer, but I'm not able to even back it up because the phone is locked with a passcode. I'm currently trying to let the battery die naturally and then I'll try recharging it.
Has anyone ran into this issue or have any fixes?

EDIT: Connecting phone to charger yields only a dark gray screen.

  • I keep getting a white screen on my iPhone 5 when I check my mail

Why do I keep getting a white screen on my iPhone 5 when I check my mail?

This could be the result of a few different things.  A damaged LCD screen, corruption in the iPod's software, or a loose LCD ribbon cable.  If a restore of the iPod in iTunes does not take care of the issue, then the iPod likely needs to be serviced.

  • ITunes has a white screen on my iPhone 5

ANyone know how to fix the white screen in iTunes on an iPhone 5?  This is happening on my phone not my Mac. Thanks!

Yep I have the same problem. Started yesterday and I have the dreaded white screen on my iPhone 4S when I try to open iTunes, strange because my iPad is fine. Tried the date thing with no success. Apparently it is a software/server issue that apple are dealing with!!!

  • I got white screen on my iPhone 3G

Hi I got white screen on my iPhone 3g. I did research on internet and tried to restart it by holding home button and power button including sometimes volume up. I did 10 times differently but nothing happened. after a while I don't have even white screen anymore just black. Iphone in general works I can find it with itunes restore backup etc. Does any one had the same problem if so did you find out how to fix it?

So I have the same issue. Phone white screen. Reboot as you describe and it absolutely works UNTIL the phone goes into SLEEP mode. As soon as it does, either on its own or b/c I hit the sleep button, it wakes right back up with the white screen. If I don't let it go back to sleep the phone works perfectly so it is not a hardware issue. I have restored, rebooted, upgraded, restored, rebooted. All white screen all the time after it goes to SLEEP for the first time. It only happened after I upgraded to 4.0. Now I am stuck. HELP!

  • White screen issue on Compag

My Compaq is currently displaying only a white screen. The laptop boots up fine and displays fine on an external monitor.
I have taken it apart and reseated the connectors on both the screen and the motherboard with no effect. So I am sure it's not a loose connection.
Before I go and splash out on a new replacement screen, is this an issue that is usually seen when the screen itself is at fault. Could it be the cable? or the connection on the motherboard itself. Is there a way to be certain?
I don't want to buy a new screen and find it's not at fault.
    Many thanks!

    Hello, @Skyfox
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you have a white screen issue with the notebook. I will try to assist you.
With the steps you've taken and the fact it works correctly with an external, leaves only the display screen as the possible cause. That being said, there is no 100% way to know that it is not a cable causing the issue.
    Typical steps for this issue:
    Restart notebook
    Hard reset notebook
    Test with external monitor
Reconnect LCD cables and check all other display cables
    Have notebook serviced.
You're at the point of service. This really limits the options, and a display replacement may not correct the issue.
I hope this adds any insight to the choice you need to make next.
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • Creative Zen X-fi (with lan) white screen issues

?Hello everyone, So I've been having my zen x-fi for a few months and it has been working excellently...until yesterday when it suddently (after what might have been a lightly hit, I had it in my front pocket and bumped in lightly into some object)...well suddently the screen went white but kind of still something black there (see photo below) <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/666/dscf2249redigerad.jpg"]http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/666/dscf2249redigerad.jpg[/url] I have been looking into troubleshooting about this particular issue, but what is suggested there under the white screen-issue is to reset and update firmware, something I did already first thing after it happened. The thing is that other than the screen being a quaking mess, it seems to otherwise be in working condition, because when I turn it on and push the play button music will still play as before. it's just the screen that is the problem. Any ideas? Best wishes, Babba

Hello there, thank you for your welcome. That is sad info about my music player though, I liked it so much while it was still working. unfortunately im not within the warrant period so I will have to invest in a new one. thank you for your help though. I will look into which creative player is the best one within my price range

  • I have a white screen on my iphone 3G since last night.. I tried a holding home and on/off buttons down but it won't switch off - help

I have a white screen on my iphone 3G since last night.. I tried a holding home and on/off buttons down but it won't switch off - help

Apparently, this is caused by a loose connection between the "guts" of the phone and the LCD screen. While it only displays white, the touch screen will still operate correctly - so if you know where to swipe, you can still power it off or unlock the screen, or touch to answer a call or etc.
With my phone, pinching the top right corner near the power button while pushing the home/power button to wake up the phone, seems to tighten the connection enough for it to work. I have not had to maintain the pinch after waking up the phone, but I do have to do it each time I unlock the screen. I have gotten by for about 6 months so far, and hoping the iphone 5's come out soon!!

  • Flash builder white screen issue

    Hi All,
I have create one normal project. There is no issue but after run that project i got one issue that is White screen Issue.......i have updated flash player but cant fint that problem ....any one Tel me the reason.
    Thanks
    Prabu.a

After further investigation, we found out that we were defining a few of our namespace by referencing directly the packages of our custom component instead of creating a clean namespace as recommended by the flex documentation.  Using the package definition works just fine when it is local but our component were located in a swc library.
    We were doing this :
    xmlns:foo="com.mCompany.controls.foo*"
instead of generating an xml manifest and basing our namespace on it
    xmlns:foo="http://com.myCompany.controls/foo"
We think that flash builder was slowing down because each and every time we were loading up an mxml it had to rescan the said package.

  • ITunes Store 10.5 white screen issue, not working

So I've had zero issues running the iTunes store on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit prior to the 10.5 update, and now all I get is a white screen. I can connect to the Store from my iPhone, iPod Touch, and laptop running Windows XP Professional with the SAME version of iTunes. I tried clearing out iTunes based on other discussions I've seen, IN ORDER, twice, and reinstalling. No dice. I've cleared my hosts file...same issue.
The weird thing is that I can update Apps in iTunes on my PC, which connects to the Store and downloads just fine. I've made zero changes to my network router, port range filtering, and the Windows Firewall has always been disabled. I don't understand how every other device aside from my PC can connect to the Store on my wireless network, but not my PC all of a sudden. I've even tried logging in as the Administrator and clearing out my Local, LocalLow, and Roaming profile of anything related to Apple and iTunes after uninstalling iTunes and rebooting...no change.
Something is wrong with this version running on Windows 7, period, and it needs fixed. I can't redeem codes except on my iPhone and it's rather annoying.

i have the same problem. the store works on my windows vista and my ipod touch just not on my windows 7. i sent a msg to support and they told me to delete itunes, check if there are any updates on my computer and then reinstall itunes but still dont work and i tried it several time and it is really starting to make me realy ****** off. it all started ever sence the last update. i thought this new update would work but still nothig at all.

  • Mac Mini Server Boot Camp Windows 8.1 White Screen Issue

    Hello Apple Peeps!
I have a Mac Mini Server 2012 which I have had for around 6 months. I use it quite a lot mainly for Music Production on the OS X side and Graphic Design on the Windows side.
I recently decided to factory restore it as I wanted to spring clean it and reorganise the way some of my apps were installed. The way I had it set up was it was running OS X on one SSD and Windows 8.1 (installed using Boot Camp) on the other SSD. The way I went about the factory restore was I first used disk utility to erase/format the Windows SSD to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and then went about the factory restore of OS X onto the other SSD as normal (following instructions from the Apple website).
The issue I am having now is that my newly installed Windows 8.1 (used solely on a single SSD) is hanging on a white screen for quite a long time before the Windows splash screen shows up, where before when I would boot or restart into Windows there was no white screen and it would go straight into the Windows splash screen and load to the desktop very quickly.
    So my question is...
Why do I get this prolonged white screen before the Windows 8.1 splash screen appears? How can I get rid of it? It was certainly not present on my previous installation. Can anyone advise me what the computer is doing during this time so that I can do some further research into a solution.
    What I have tried already....
    1) PRAM & SMC reset.
    2) Setting the startup disk to Boot Camp in both OS X and Windows 8.1.
    3) Reinstalling Windows 8.1 through Boot Camp.
MAC MINI SERVER (LATE 2012), 2.6GHZ QUAD CORE I7, 16GB RAM, 2 x 256GB SSD, OS X 10.10.2, Windows 8.1 (Retail), Boot Camp Assistant (5.1.3), Covered By AppleCare.
I would really appreciate some help with this ;-)

I have right clicked on each SSD in Device Manager and selected the option 'Properties' from the drop down menu, which brings me to this window...
I'm not sure where I can find Device Attributes, I have clicked on each of the tabs in the window above, as far as I can see none of them mention AHCI enabled or anything similar. Thanks for all of your responses by the way...much appreciated!

  • White screen of death iPhone 3GS 16gb

My iPhone 3GS displayed the White screen of death and was told to restore my phone but iTunes said there was a problem and now my iPhone won't turn on at all.

That happened to me once and the only was is to fix it is to use recovery mode.
    1. Connect your USB cable to your computer but NOT your iPhone.
    2. Turn your phone off.
    3. When your phone is off, press the home button and connect your iPhone to your computer.
    4. Your iPhone will turn on and keep pressing to the home button. iTunes logo will appear on your screen.
    5. You can start your restoration progress.
Hope this helps. Thats is how I saved my phone. It also seems to me that the phone you are using right now may had been jailbroken and stopped working.

  • White screen issue with DVC Pro HD

I have a G5, have Final Cut HD and have upgraded to QT 7 Pro. I am trying to open an HD file I shot last year, which was edited on another system. When I try to open the clip, it is a white screen with audio. The movie info is as follows.
    DVCPRO HD (720p60), 1280 x 720, Millions
16-bit Integer (Big Endian), Stereo, 48.000 kHz
Any ideas on why it is not playing? Thanks!
    John M

ok... i just got this on mine. yesterday i was just getting ready to log subclips from fcp5, and when i opened the project file, i noticed that all my subclips i created and orignal clip where all red / out. so i closed fcp5 and went to the location of the file. i double clicked it, and behold, white screen, audio only.. so i had to completely redo the convertion of the orginal file.
    next day
I was looking for a subclip that i had already extracted from the main file, and when i double clicked it showed the video. after that closed the window, and someone asked me to reopen the quicktime file again, i double clicked it, and all of a sudden the video was white, and only audio.
ive spent about 4 to 5 hours researching with someone else on this issue and have yet to find anything such as a fix, or work around, but my video keeps disappearing which is disturbing. from what we have come down to the issue is deals within quicktime are below...
we believe that quicktime is somehow changing the codecs DVC PRO and changing it to "Integer (Big Endian), Timecode, Video.." that is what it says.. and comepletely removing the codec for the video, and deleting the video footage, but keeping the audio in place perfectly. now, we also used metadatahootenanny to inspect a copy of the file and low and behold severe corrupt of the meta data in the quicktime file. the issue be with quicktime interaction with storage, or a bug quicktime behalf. we need to find a solution to this issue. we are currently in contact with apple tech support and hopefully we will be posting a answer soon.

  • White screen after forced reload (used to fix previous white screen issue)

Last Friday after doing a battery pull to clear a stuck Facebook notification, upon reboot my Curve 8520's screen faded to white. I immediately did another battery pull, but then the same thing happened again. It did not return to normal until I plugged it into my wall charger.
I called my carrier, Rogers, about the issue and they sent me instructions to do a forced reload. I didn't have my USB cable until today, so I followed all the instructions for the forced reload this morning. After it went through and re-installed the software, I did a restore using the Desktop Manager. I'd been slowly working through re-installing all my applications when it froze up, so I did a battery pull. It did the "white screen of death" again after the reboot. Now it's just happening at random (ie. while waiting for a website to load), but still gets fixed temporarily if I plug it into the charger.
Is there anything else I can try to fix this? I can't exactly carry my wall charger around everywhere just in case this happens.
Another note: I'm nearly 2 years into my 3-year contract and am upset that this device isn't living up to the term. I can't afford a new phone and I don't want to get locked into another 3 years

So it's just happened again, this time without the battery pull. I was downloading the Toronto Maple Leafs app from mapleleafs.mobi, and it was nearly completed when the screen faded to white. This is very frustrating

  • X3 white screen issue

Ever since I got my phone it would periodically turn to a blank white screen and slowly come back, but it would take a minute or 2 to let me open my messaging inbox/outboxes yet everything else worked fine after the screen came back. Now it is occurring several times daily, and I have tried things such as factory reset, but the problem won't go away, Any ideas?
