White screen of death and wont connect to computer

Ok, so today my phone decided to freeze when I tried to unlock it. I tried resetting it by removing the battery and now it gets stuck on a white screen when I turn it on.
After the battery is put back in, the red light comes on for a bit, then the phone loads up and sits on the egg timer for a while before going to a white screen with a yellow light flashing (but that might just be because it needs a charge)
Iv looked around the internet for help and can see that I need to connect it to the desktop manager however my mac wont recognize the phone and all the tutorials I find are for windows. Is there a way to force my computer to recognize it? (bearing in mind I cant access ANYTHING from the phone)
So if anyone could help me answer this question which im sure has been answered thousands of time then I would be extremely greatful!

My iPod touch 4th gen has the white screen of death and won't connect to iTunes to restore.

I was updating from iOS 6 beta 1 to beta 2 when my ipod froze up and started showing the white screen of death. I've tried the trick where you hold the power and home button for ten seconds and tried to put it in DFU mode to restore. None of these tricks work and my screen is still white. Also I plug it into my Windows Vista computer with iTunes 10.6.3 but it wont show up. I really need help. I don't have warranty or money to buy a new one. My grandmother will heartbroken if $200 goes down the drain.

MBP 2011---White Screen of Death AND MORE!

So I've got the white screen of death on my later 2011 MBP. I've been reading all the other forums and the other discussions for the last 3 weeks and I know what I have to do to get it to at least boot up, but it will not work. I tried all the reset ram options, I tried booting my computer in recovery mode but it wont go in any modes. I connected it to another MBP in target mode and repaired the disk after the verification failed and it still didnt boot up or let me go into any recovery modes. I did the target mode again and ran the repair and verify another two times. I then erased everything on my hard drive while in target mode using the disk utility erase function and now this is where I am...stuck! I don't know if that was the right thing to do it was probably in haste but I am stuck and need some help. Pleaseeeeee!

billrobinson - I haven't dropped the phone since I bought it. I wish I had b/c then I could blame it on something. My friends drop their phones all the time, spill stuff on them etc.... and I do nothing - and my phone blows up

White screen of death and reboot loop help!!!

I have a problem with my curve, I have a white screen of death. This happens whenever I turn on my blackberry. Also my phone is stuck in a continuous loop of it rebooting, loading up showing the home screen and then rebooting again. What do I do? i have tried battrey pulls and pressing on the corners of the screen

Deal with the rebooting first. If you have a media card installed, remove it and test. If it isn't the media card that is the problem, see if you can reboot in safe mode, then do a a full backup. While in safe mode, after the backup, you can try removing any apps or themes you added and then test. Ultimately you will probably end up reinstalling the OS.
Once you have the device booting up and staying on, hopefully, see what you see. If the screen is all white with no text or icon, you have a hardware problem with a connection to the display.
Caveat: If have gotten the device wet or dropped it, all bets are off.

White Screen of Death and Wipe Did Not Work

I purchased my Blackberry 8900 a year ago and TMobile is my carrier.
I experienced a white screen of death on my Blackberry 8900 last nite while talking on it. It just dropped the call and the screen went white. I shut it off then back on, white screen appeared after reboot. I pulled the battery and left it out for 15 min, inserted it again and rebooted - still white.
I searched online and found a lot of info. My phone is recognized by the Desktop Manager software. I was able to back up all of my data and applications. I deleted all of the data on my phone through the DM as well (or thought I did - I can't tell if it worked or not). I downloaded the current version of the OS from TMobile for reinstallation.
I downloaded JL Cmder to fully wipe the phone. JL Cmder did not work on my home machine (Win 7) but I finally got it to work on my work machine (Vista) today.
I selected the wipe option (4) and JL Cmder successfully connected with the phone. The phone rebooted and I got happy, but on phone reboot I did NOT get the "507" error all of the how-to sites say I'm supposed to get. The phone rebooted with the same white screen and no error message. I've run the wipe command from JL Cmder a few times on the phone and it connects, reboots but I still get the white screen with no error message.
Is there anything else I need to do to get this 507 error? Or is my phone really dead?
I want to do what I can before I shell out more $$ for another phone.

Upgraded ipod touch to ios 6 now only have blue screen and wont connect to computer

I upgraded my Ipod touch to the ios 6 now only have blue screen and wont connect but will charge. Have reset Ipod but just goes to blue screen on start up. is there any fix? 4th gen ipod.

Try a manual install (if iTunes will detect unit in DFU mode), as outlined in the link below.

Ipod Touch Flashes white screen and wont connect to computer

hi i recently got a ipod touch from craigslist and cant return it. It flashes a white screen when plugged into the computer and occasionally shows the apple logo. it cant connect to the usb or itunes and ive tried almost everything but it wont connect. i cant go to the genuis bar because its about a hour or more away i have little money and i dont drive please help me . White screen of death and computer halts with ATI 4870 in Boot Camp

Hi!
I have just received the ATI Radeon 4870 for my Mac Pro (Early 2008)and have upgraded my Leopard to 10.5.7 and works fine on the Mac side. When I reboot and hold the command key I can see my MAC and my BOOT CAMP 2 options as always before. When I click on boot camp I get a white screen with a black frome around it and there is NO hard disk activity and nothing happens no matter how long I leave the computer alone. Before I had no problem booting into my boot camp loaded with vista 64 bit. I have another partition with parallels and that is fine but not this boot camp partition.
I am using ONLY this card in the system. I removed the NVIDIA card.
ALso I tried putting in my Vista 64bit DvD into the drive and rem=booting and see the option when hold the option key to go into MAC,WINDOWS,DVD.... When I select DvD and computer adjust to work in a windows enviroment again the system halts. SO I believe it has nothing whatsoever to to do with drivers inside Vista. It would have to be something that needs upgrading for bootcamp to allow for this video card to work on Bootcamp?
Again I have the latest updates of the OS.
Any suggestions?

CorkyO recommended what I would do: install old card, uninstall any graphics drivers and delete them, and use Driver Sweeper as well. So that there is nothing there.
If you have a raw unformatted drive, pull everything else and leave that in.... as if it was a PC and starting for the first time.
Don't use Boot Camp Assistant.
Don't put Windows on the same drive as OS X.
Do try Windows 7.7100 RC 64-bit.
Apple has not posted a link to graphics drivers since early 2008.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1442 - "Not found" and WAY out of date (167.xx) which would be foolish and obviously would not support Vista or 4870.
I would pull the Vista drive for another reason, too, so you can start fresh and import or access the files on it later.
Vista is sensitive to the presence and drive position of where the drive and OS was, the master boot record and such which I confess to not fully understanding.
Which is another reason to install Windows with no other hard drives present.
You keep saying you used COMMAND rather than OPTION key to restart into Windows, so figure typo/slip.
I would RESET SMC and ZAP PRAM/NVRAM. Force the device tree to get rebuilt. And that is important to OS X - suppose to do so but the G5s it never worked properly on its own.
There is a reason why people that play with graphics cards and drivers use Driver Sweeper, it works, and it is essential at times.
Early boot is under the control of EFI. I don't know what if anything Apple does (I don't trust the firmware updates that were suppose to provide better Windows compatibility only to learn it was mostly for XP and not Vista, and that it added a full 30 seconds to my boot routine into Windows - where EFI + Boot Camp does make Windows think there is a traditional BIOS.... my best summary guess.
Work with the only factual symptom: pulling one card and putting in 2nd is causing a problem.

Resently got white screen of death, and want to know how I can fix this

I was over at a friends house and my ipod dies from lack of batterie, and I plug my Ipod touch into his laptop with the USB cord and I walk away thinking everything is ok. I come back and unplug it, this white screen has come up and I'm unsure what to do next from this point. I have looked up possible solutions but this hold the power and home button restart process doesn't work for me, still more white screen. I have tryed restoring my Ipod but it says an error occured and i could not restore it to factory settings

Sounds like your hard drive died and the NVRAM got flushed.
You'll have to take it in and/or replace the drive and install your EFI firmware from cd to be able to install OS X back onto the machine.

Pulled out plug while mid update and now the phone is stuck on the update screen. tried everything and wont reconnect to computer =( help!!!
