Always getting a white blank screen.while restarting no apple logo, while charging black display. Tried restoring using itunes. Still the same. Any solution

Sorry, we can't help you with your problem, as users are not supposed to do repairs on the phone. Also the Terms of User rule against discussing that in these forums.
You'll have to search for a experienced 3rd party repair shop to get your phone fixed, Apple will not service it anymore after being opened.

i have iphone 3gs.
and after i opened it now white screen.
i iphone itself works it recieve calls but the screen is white.
i'm almost sure that i didn't cause damage to internal parts and cables.
restire can solve the problem? or should i buy new lcd?

Perhaps, the ribbon cable of display might have broken. See closer safely. If it is you will see small crack cross the cable. Then replace a new display carefully.

Steps for iPhone white screen, #1 Reset. If fixed done. If the screen becomes normal, but then again goes back to white screen, fix is new LCD Display. If remains continuous white screen after Reset, then the problem could be Logic Board or LCD Display, in this situation try a new LCD Display hoping it will fix issue, but will not if problem is Logic Board fault.
Before opening and during all repair of iPhone 3GS make sure it is OFF. This is why you now have a White Screen, try not to make that mistake again.

Good morning! There may be more information on the forum regarding this issue; but i didn't find it upon cursory search. So, I apologize in advance if i'm relating a known and resolved issue.
That being said, this morning, while checking e-mail on my iphone, the phone seemed to freeze up and then when to a white screen. Before trying too many things (did try to shut it off), i googled the problem and came across "Rob's blog". On the blog the problem is related by many and the fix is either returning the phone or, (if it works), simultaneously holding the off button and the home button for a few seconds. I tried that and it worked. The apple came up and after a few minutes all seemed to be fine. I immediately connected to itunes and backed up my device. Thought I'd share this in case anyone else runs into the problem. Does anyone know what causes the white screen? Thanks

No, both "power off" but the (hard) reset doesn't go through the shutdown process first. The reset is equivalent to pressing the power button on a Mac or PC until it turns off, and again to restart, in one step.

Can't get past the activation screen for iphone 3Gs

I am trying to activate the iphone 3Gs after switching from blackberry. When I turn the phone on, I get to the "welcome"screen, I choose my country and then given the option to activate through WiFi or iTunes. When I activate through WiFi, I get a message saying that the activation server is unavailable and to try again in a few minutes ( tried it again and was unsuccessful). I then attempt to activate through iTunes and receive a message saying that there is no SIM card in the phone (when there is). I am stuck here with a phone that is not working! I do not know what to do. I took it into Apple for them to check it out and they can't find the problem. Maybe someone has come across this issue and had it resolved? Please share!

You are asking in a thread that is 18 months old. Whatever.
Here are possible causes for that message:
1. Your antivirus is blocking access to gs.apple.com.
2. Your phone is jailbroken.
3. Your computer has been used at some time in the past to jaibreak some iOS device (not necessarily the phone with the problem), and its network database was corrupted by the hacking software that was used.
4. Apple's activation servers are down (very rare, and never for more than an hour or so).
For 1. try disabling your antivirus.
For 2. & 3. you need to go somewhere other than an apple forum for help. Although you can try deleting lines containing gs.apple.com from your "hosts" file on your computer.
Windows: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Mac: /etc/hosts

ITunes shows white screen for iPhone, allows eject only

Recently restored my phone to factory settings. Connected to iTunes. iTunes shows the device and allows to eject, however to the right there is only a white page. Already tried the following:
reboot of both devices
reinstall itunes
connect device to different computer (same white screen)
reset all content and settings on iphone
I'm running out of ideas. The phone works fine - but I can't sync or restore anything! The only option when I click on the iphone icon in the sidebar is...eject!

HELP! iPhone is recognized, but when I click on the device, all it shows is a white screen with "iphone" on it. It doesn't allow me to sync or anything.

That is the screen it shows... How it happened; I plugged in my iphone for the first time, then it asked me to register...
My computer then froze and I clicked cancel and restarted computer. When I turned it back on, it wouldn't go any further than simply showing the "iphone" text as shown in the picture!

Mobile me has been discontinued for over a year. What system and iPhoto versions are you running?
How are you trying to sync? With Photo Stream or thru iTunes?
Do you have an iCloud preference pane in your System preferences?

My screen has suddenly developed a straight line on the right side of the display panel. This line is also visible when the phone is turned off. Can any one assist me with the same??

Hi,
Try restoring your iPhone but not from a backup.
Instructions here for restoring as a new device.
Re sync your apps several at a time as it may be a third party app that's causing the problem.

Screen brightness iphone 3gs

Whilst on holiday, my phone's screen display went really dim, so I can barely see it. It's still working and I managed to go in to the settings and set the brightness to maximum, but it remained really dark. I then tried switching off and on, resetting and then finally resetting all my settings but still the same problem. Has anyone else had this issue and managed to fix it? Any advice much appreciated please.

It may be hardware related but...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
If still a problem, try a restore.

I have dark spot (LCD screen) on iphone 3gs. What should i DO ?

I have this dark spot on the Iphone. I dont know whats wrong with it, since the phone wasnt dropped or anything. See picture below. THe phone isnt more then 2 months old. I know its under warranty. Will apple cover this ?

White screen 3GS only when phone locks but I am volunteering in Africa so need help

Hi everyone.
This is my first post on communties. I have a white screen on my 3GS. It can be rectified by resetting the home but as soon as the phone is locked it goes back to white but I can take a photo of the homescreen (can tell by sound), phone will ring etc.
After reset the phone functions completely normally until locked. This all started after IOS 5 upgrade, briefly became normal for a few days after IOS5.1 but now back to white screen probelms. I have restored to no avail.
I have read Brad's suggestion it may be an LCD problem but seems stranges as you can reset the phone and the LCD is fine until it locks.
Any ideas and or fixes, please bear in mind I am in Africa for a year so no Apple stores around.

Why does my iphone 3gs screen go white after it goes "to sleep" for the first time after turning it on?
The screen isn't broken because it works after i turn the device off and back on, but after it goes black once, it's only white again.
But it takes the touches although it's only white, because I can answer my phone when I slide my finger on the bottom of the screen, eventhough there in not the button to see.
This is so weird. I have already done everything I can think of that might help. But I cannot think of anything that might be causing it, because nothing has happened to the device.

My wife's iPhone is the same vintage as mine 3Gs, but has never had the battery problem. Its affliction instead is that it cannot detect WiFi networks unless it is quite close to the source. Often, when my iPhone not only detects but shows a maximum cells connection with a network, hers cannot detect the network at all. In contrast, her iPhone seems to detect ourcellular carrier just as well as mine does.
Is there any help for this affliction?

Since updating the software on my iPhone 3gs it has developed the so called "white screen of death". The phone has not been dropped or damaged in anyway, the problem only developed after software upgrade. Rung apple and they were less than helpful

Tried ringing apple, who were less than helpful and disinterested as the phone is out of warranty. I am hoping there is a solution which doesnt mean shelling out for a new phone! any ideas?
