White screen on messages help!

I recently went on iMessage and spammed someone with lots of emoticons, not the smartest thing to do, Messages crashed out, and now both on my iPad and iPhone messages wont work. Help?

On both devices tap the Home button twice quickly, in the new row of icons at the bottom, tap and hold an icon to get the Red Minus Sign, then tap the one for Messages to delete if from background memory. The Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the device restarts itself, ignore the "slide to power off" let the device restart itself, usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons. See if better.

  • Not used my G5 Powermac (late 2004) for ages. Only boots in with Installation disk, but colour dots on white screen and message comes up to reboot machine. Nothing happens.

Not used my G5 Powermac (late 2004) for  about 2 years. Was going to set it up for the lads to do school work.
However it only boots in with Installation disk, but colour dots on white screen and message comes up to reboot machine. However nothing happens apart from me keep trying. Also the numerous fans get louder and louder and louder.....
    Any ideas folks

Can you please provide details on the exact model?
For a start, the PRAM battery is likely dead.  PRAM tells the computer which drive to start with, other basic information.  Still, you can usually get the computer to start, though bad PRAM is unpredictable and could be stopping that.
Some computer models use software to control cooling fans.  If there's no software commands they automatically go into high speed to prevent overheating.  Your software obviously isn't loading, so runaway fans.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • White screen and message reading "No bootable device--insert boot disk and press any key"

My iMac was recently upgraded to the new Lion software. I dont know if that has anything to do with it but, the computer was working fine. I was working in iMovie, had Safari open. My cousins and I opened Photo Booth and started taking pictures. When we clicked on effects and selected an effect everything froze. I turned off the computer and when it started up, the screen was white. I unpluged it and restarted it, same thing. I unplugged it and around 3 hours later I turned it back on...same thing! Well this time after the white screen appears for I dont know...10 15 seconds..it goes black and a message saying "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key" appears. I have no idea what to do. I have stuff that needs to get done that is saved on this computer. PLEEAASSEE HEELLPP!!!!

Start up you computer holding down the option and select Macintosh HD (or whatever name you gave your OS drive). If successful, take a trip to System Preferences->Startup Disk and make sure the proper HD is selected. Hope this helps.

  • The infamous white screen - can you help?

A friend edited a video with Final Cut Pro and then exported to Quicktime format so that I could watch it on my laptop. But when I play it in Quicktime, I can hear the sound but only see a white screen. When I double click the file, Quicktime opens and up pops a message:
"Some necessary Quicktime software is missing. etc etc"
But once I am taken to the Apple site, I have no idea which of those codecs I need to download.
If it helps, the clip I'm trying to watch is 1920x1080 and under 'codecs', the following are listed - HDV 1080i50, Integer (Little Endian), Timecode.
Any advice as to how I can watch this clip in Quicktime?
    Powerbook G4 12"   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   Quicktime 7.1.6

The FCP export used video codecs not supported outside that app. Meant for one FCP user to another.
They should export using H.264 Video codec so any version 7 user could view the file in QuickTime.

  • Curve 9300 White screen problem, PLEASE HELP!

Hi guys, so basically, I've been having this problem for a little while now of which my phone freezes at a random stage, white screens with the red LED light ON and reboots itself. I have tried several things from this forum so far.
I have backed up the phone on desktop manager
I have re-installed the OS twice now, (downgrading OS's)
I tried to use the phone without the memory card or SIM in, I used an app called 'kik' for a little while, but eventually as suspected it froze, white screened and the issue persisted.
I can easily text one person on the phone, but as soon as I receive a text as I'm typing it freezes the phone, white screens, reboots. Back to square one.
Something you may need to know is that a while ago, I was in a storm, the phone did get slightly wet, and it did actually stop working. I placed it in a tub of rice for the night, and hey presto it worked again, was happy with that, but from just about a few days after it was working fine, it started doing this.
Is it the water damage creating this problem, if so would a repair store be able to fix this problem for me?
The phone is in a tub of rice again right now, doubt it'll make a difference though.
YOUR FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, THANK YOU!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
While the rice trick is good, only waiting 8 hours ("for the night") is dangerous...typically, waiting 5 days in the rice before applying any power is needed, and even then there are no guarantees. Applying power to your BB between it getting wet and doing this process reduces the chances of success. Further, the only thing predictable about moisture intrusion into a BB (indeed, any electronic device) is that the results will be unpredictable. I've seen some come back up right away and be fine. I've seen others never work at all. I've seen still others run for a bit, and then die later. And every thing in between.
From what you describe, I would deduce that the 24 hours in the rice was not long enough, and corrosion continued internally, exacerbated by the application of power, eventually resulting in complete failure.
As for if anyone can fix it...at an internet distance, that is impossible to say. Only in-hand evaluation by a qualified BB hardware technician can provide you with a proper evaluation and estimate.
    Good luck!

I have iTunes U on my iPad mini. It won't open any power points on it and when I do it's just a white screen. This just started happening about an hour ago. I need this for school so please help

I have the same problem with the store.  I click the link, and it looks like the store is loading.  However, all I get is a white screen.
Also, my new Iphone 4s will only get to "step 2 of 5, backing up iphone."  I left the phone connected to the computer all night, and when I woke up, it was still at the same spot, with no progress made.
I've uninstalled, everything from apple, rebooted the computer, and then re-installed the latest itunes.  Still nothing.

  • All I see is a white screen... (help please)

I got my ipod nano this october and it worked fine until a couple of weeks ago. I turned my ipod on and it shut down and when I turned it back on again all I got was a simple white screen, nothing else. It's been doing that for about three weeks now. I've tried EVERYTHING The 5 R's everthing, nothing seems to work. I even just let it sit and not be used for a week and it still hasn't worked. It's really angering me. My brother did not pay the money for an ipod for me that doesn't work. Somebody PLEASE, help me.

    See this.
iPod 5th gen (with video) shows blank or white screen.
It's not for the nano but worth a try.
If none of the above help, then it may be an issue that requires service.
You can arrange online service here.

Or if an Apple store is near you, take it there and have them check your iPod.

  • Phone displays a full white screen - restore no help

Has anyone had a problem with the phone displaying a white screen. calls can still come in and it functions as normal, but you cant use the touch screen because it is solid white..
any suggestions / comments are appreciated.

I accidently cracked half my screen, but I could still access it and do everything. 1 month later, my screen just turn white whenever I lock it. I accidently lock it hold lock button slide it to turn it off. (no problem) 1 month later, I have a white screen. I try to turn it off and as usual it stays white for a minute I lock it to make sure that its turning off. it doesn't lock. it goes black. I hold the lock button to turn it on and its white. (no usual apple sign) it gets calls and gets messages but it stays white. I tried to restore it. I tried to reset it via holding home and lock button. I am now leaving it alone waiting for the battery to run out so I can once more try to recharge it and turn it on. If you have had this issue and have actually resolved it without going to an apple retailer store or using a warranty please reply even if u have to wait 5 minutes making an account.

  • HT1379 White screen of death help!

I have the white screen of death, no word or symbols. I have a DVD in the drive and can't get it out so I can insert my startup disk to fix it. How do I remove it? Wireless keyboard and mouse.

The icon you're seeing means that the Mac can't find your hard disk or read from it.
Insert the first of the two recovery disks that came with your computer and hold C while you turn it on. This will boot from the DVD. From the menubar, choose Disk Utility and see if your hard disk is listed in the left-hand pane. If not, restart the computer and hold D this time. Run the Apple hardware test and see if it passes.
If your hard disk IS listed in Disk Utility, choose "Verify Disk" and if any problems are found, repair it. Try restarting after that.
If the disk is not listed, and the Apple hardware test fails, your hard drive has most likely gone bad and will need to be replaced. You can take the computer to Apple if it's under warranty and they'll do it for free or you can do it yourself by following these directions:

Once it restarted it just gave me a blank white screen for thirty minutes so I restarted it and held the option key so I could go into the recovery HD and repair the disk but still blank white screen. Now I've run out of ideas.

    Brendan,
I would post this in the iMac forum for a quicker reply.
