If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.
This is lightning to 30 pin adapter: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Apple%26%23174%3B---Lightning-to-30-Pin-Adapter/6651 936.p?id=1218803450821&skuId=6651936#tab=overview
    Is this what you bought?
You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.

  • White screen on 3g iPod nano - nothing working!

My son's 3rd gen iPod Nano has been 'dead' for a few weeks. I first fully charged it, thinking that was the issue.
Now, when I click on the menu button, it wakes up but is just a blank, white screen which turns off after a few seconds.
I've done a reset (menu+center click for 8 seconds), which resets it to a medium gray screen with no logo or text on it. After several seconds, it then goes to the bright white screen.
I can connect it to iTunes and have attempted a system restore, but that never completes its process.
It almost seems like it's screen brightness setting has been scaled to its highest end?
Next stop may be the Genius Bar if I can't restore/fix this.

This exact thing has happened to my Ipod too. I tried replacing the battery. That didn't work. I was told you are supposed to put it in Disk mode, but you can only do that when you reset it, and since it won't reset...

  • Ipod locked, tried to reset and restore

Out of nowhere my Ipod became locked. It turns on when I plug it into my computer, it loads files and recharges, but pushing the keypad does nothing. I have tried to reset and restore, and it is still locked. Thanks for any help.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • Ipod 5 generation sync when connected but don't work after that

    Dear users,
I just would like to know if somebody could help me out with this.
I changed my computer and have a new clean hardisk. I reinstall Itunes of course.
I couldn't sync my Ipod who still full and was obliged to erase all the files from the Ipod by changing his name.
Now when I plug the ipod, Itunes Sync auto (music, videos) BUT when Ipod appears in the Itunes and I would like to resync (adding files, ...) nothing happen and an error message says :
In french "IPOD ne peut synchroniser disque introuvable" !!
translation : "impossible to sync the disk is not founded"
Does someone knows if the IPOD has a problem or is it the config of my Itunes ?
Thank you very much in advance.
    Sincerely yours,
    Phil

Is the other machine "authorized" at the iTunes store? If not, it's probably overwriting the authorization of the home machine.

  • I got my iPod just a LITTLE wet, and it don't work?

I spilled a whole cup of tea on my purse, and my iPod was in it; the touch screen works, but only a little bit. I can only move the  "swipe to unlock" button halfway, and then it stops working. Does anyone know how i can fix this? I'm clueless, and really love this iPod & can't afford another one

Put it in a bag along with a small amount of silica gel, leave it there for a week, it may or may not recover, baking powder also works but whichever you use make sure to put it in something that doesn't spill over the ipod

  • My touch screen on my ipod Nano, Generation 6 has gone completely white. I can still play music if I "accidently" touch the right icon. Does anyone know how I can fix this. Also I have 2 other ipods that i can't sync anymore, it says they are not compatib

My touch screen on my ipod Nano, Gen 6 has gone completely white. It had started going white the day before. I tried resetting it but to no avail. Does anyone know how I could fix this. Also I have 2 other ipods that I am no longer able to sync. It comes up with a message (best I can remember) something to the effect that my itunes version is not compatible with my ipod. Please help. I'm tired of buying new ipods when the new hasn't even worn off of them!!!
    Thanks

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

From the OP: "My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. "
They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

  • My ipod nano will turn on and play but the viewing screen goes out and I cannot access the information to select different playing options. Any suggestions?

My ipod nano will turn on and play but the viewing screen will not come on and I cannot access the information to select different playing options. It glows white background light then goes dark for the entire time I am using it. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem.  Someone here told me to make sure my earbuds were in securely.  Push until they click in place.  It solved the problem.  The music still plays even though the screen goes to sleep.  Hope this helps.

  • Itunes just shows a white screen that says "ipod"

    Hi!
My boyfriend just bought an 32 gb ipod touch. When he plugged it into his computer to sync with itunes, the ipod touch was recognized, but instead of the normal screen that shows the touch's serial number and other information, as well as the tabs for syncing music, videos, and applications, all we see is a white screen that says "ipod." I plugged my 32 gb touch into his computer and itunes worked fine. Any advice? Is the ipod the problem or is it itunes?

    Try:
    - Resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try placing the iPod in Recovery Mode and then restoring via iTunes.

  • I get only a white screen on my ipod

I am getting a white screen on my Ipod I have restored the ipod and the music loads onto it but I cant access the music because of the white screen.

Which version of ipod are you using? Try forced reset and see if that helps. If new nano then hold down power and home button for few seconds till it reboots.

Copy the music from Nano to computer by:
Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device: Apple Support Communities
Then just sync to the new device
