    Hey Khagenson78,
I know you said it was white, but I found an article that sounds like it might apply to your situation. It goes over what to do if a gray screen appears during start up:

  • Brief water contact; black apple logo blinking/flashing white screen

Ok, this idiot didn't take his phone from his pocket & it briefly was water submerged. Maybe 20 seconds; feeling stupid about it.
Phone has been in a bag of (uncooked) rice for a solid 48hrs. I thought that was long enough to plug phone into lightening cable charger into USB port for  iTunes...saw a white screen black apple logo that is blinking/flashing. Immediately unplugged it & put back in bag of (uncooked) rice. Did not have it plugged in longer than a few seconds.
Suggestions other than make an appt. with the Genius bar?
Is flashing/blinking a significant sign of permanent damage?

No where near long enough. Should be 5-7 days normally.

Genius Bar appointment is the best alternative. More than likely the device is trash. You should be able to purchase an Out Of Warranty replacement.

  • How do I fix an Ipod Touch 4G when it has a white screen and maybe water damage

I jumped in a lake with my ipod in my pocket and stayed in there for about an hour and about a week and a half in the rice container, my Ipod Touch 4G has a white screen and i tried to restore it and reset it but nothing worked, please help me!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod Nano white screen of death - RESURRECTED! :D

Alright, here's the deal...A friend of mine has a new iPod Nano and gave it to me because it had stopped working, and was hoping it was worth something to recover. Sorry about the long story!
It _wouldn't_ turn on. But, when connecting it to the computer via the USB dock cable, it comes on for a few seconds on a grey-whitish screen. Then turns back off, reboots, and tries again. Step 1 step 2. Nothing.
Although, 'Diagnostics mode' or whatnot it is, does work however. It would still be a faint grey screen, but whiter and more vibrant, as if it's saying "Hey, I'm alive! I'm alive!!!" and I can go through settings and make it (sometimes) change colors, and reboot the iPod.
I was thinking since iTunes never recognized it (It was plugged in the whole time) that I would drown in just for the sake of it.
Well, 3 hours later after attempting to kill the poor thing, it... resurrected itself.
I'm serious, it really seems to have unbelievably done it. When turning it on, I get 2 beeps, but no restart loop, the LCD stays on the white screen though, BUT, here's the good thing.
NOW, I hear the system 'click' sounds when using the buttons and such that it's going through the menu, good news so far! It seems like it because after the 'boot' sequence (it appears to boot very fast, strangely).
The good thing is (kinda) https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1517571?start=0&tstart=0 ... So I suspect that somehow, this method of submerging it under water, letting it dry, blowdrying it, and then leaving it in the heat, somehow restored the SD chip inside of it... possibly only for now... I'm going to use this moment to hopefully get all data off the device, and see for one last time if it's fully restorable...
I have the power! Ok, so I hooked it up to the wall charger (just put the wall connector on the USB cord) and it now beeps two times, and after about 30 seconds or so, I get to the main menu, screen still white, but I can certainly hear the click letting me know I'm 'navigating' the iPod. It doesn't appear to have any music on it, or maybe it does, but I need to connect some earphones first. Or, it supposed to be display the 'sad iPod' icon, but I just don't see it, therefor, I'm blind as to the status of it.
I likely guess it's the battery, since every time I disconnect it, it goes dead. Yep, just looked back, still on. Yep, still menu clicking. Yep, I can start it with no problems now. Any clue what I can try to do to resolve this? Obviously it's turning on, and it seems to be doing something, it boots, (apparently) so that's a good sign.
Please, is there any hope at all in this iPod?  At all?
AND, IT JUST BEEPED 2 TIMES AGAIN! And I was just typing... why did it do this? (Funny thing is, how it still works!) Is that really the menu button clicking? That would explain it, I mean it only plays the menu clicking sound AFTER about 30 seconds of it 'booting' to the iPod firmware, so it obviously has some sort of life to it. If I hook up my earphones... Holy Mac! I hear music! It's alive!!! It's alive!!! Oh my man!!! Yes!
It has hope, in a way!
Atleast, I hope, but it works! Freaking amazing! Jamming to some awesome beats right now, some cool hip hop, sound quality you ask? Great, actually! I don't know how, don't want to know, but it seems trying to kill this iPod actually resulted in it being resurrected? How? Who knows! This is awesome! iPod truly CAN have 2 lives, I guess!
Cool stuff, I swear on that! My favorite song was on here too!
How to adjust the volume on the iPod Nano? I don't care, it's playing at full volume, and it's awesome!
The sad thing is, it still has the white screen of death, and the battery is apparently fried still (or needs a good 24-hour charging).
This iPod has been sitting dead as a dud in the storage room for a good 1 year or so, unused. And now it came back to life in a flash. Unbelievable.
    I love you Apple.

Your problem was moisture. It was wet inside and sitting around for a year let it all dry up.
If you get this kind of thing happening, speed the process up by putting the iPod into a zip lock baggie with a dessicant (you know those little silica pouches) or even some rice to absorb the moisture. Let it sit for a few days and it should dry it all out.

Let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try what you tried already. If it still has the white screen that indicates a hardware problem an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

You'll have to do two things.. Elaborate on exactly what you mean by a white screen appears. What is turning white? Are you generating a SWF from captivate of a screen capture session, then trying to load that SWF with a wrapper and when you do so it turns white? (In that scenario, if Captivate was looking for external assets it can't find, that'd be why). Please include more details on that.
Second, code of this size pasted into the forum really doesn't help. You'll need to do the work to isolate exactly what part of the code you're seeing this white box appear. Run it in a debugger line by line until you witnesss it turn white and only share that small portion of code. And if you do choose to share a ton of code, please use a site like pastebin.com which will retain formatting and color coding, making it much easier to read, and then share that pastebin link.

  • NOKIA C3-01 is displaying a white screen when turn...

Its been almost a year since I bought my nokia c3 from saudi arabia. Yesterday my phone was working fine, left it on table and when i came back to check it. it went beserk with white screen; although i kept hearing msgs and emails being received. I turned it off immediately and took out the memory card, willing it might work. I turned it on again but no changes just white screen. It gave me the beeping sound that i know to enter the phone code. After i entered it, it started with nokia welcome soundtrack but only gave me a white screen. Is it a software or hardware problem? I kept reading about ways to solve it but with no success. Plz note that my last backup was on 26 june 2012 and many info where stored in last 15 days. So i dnt wanna lose data. Also a similar problem occured two month after i bought it, but then it gave me it needed a software update. I did the update and everything worked fine. Also two weeks ago, my phone fell in water but it was turned off. I dried it without the battery for 3 days, turned it on, and it worked normally. I need an immediate help plzz its a plead for a lifeline. I just cant do any troubleshooting or update bcz  i need to see whats on screen instead of blank white.
    thanks in advance,
    almach

    Hi Almach89,
    Welcome to Nokia discussions board!
We are sorry for the inconvenience. I advise yout to try and back up your data with Nokia Suite. If you do not have it installed on your PC yet, you may do so with this link.
Then connect your device to it and go to Tools > Back up. Also go to Synchronise > Synchronise now > All. Once the sync is completed, check the different tabs to see if the data has been correctly synced. If this is successful, your data will now be safe (please use your own judgement).
You may update your device from the updates tab to see if that fixes the screen issue.
Alternatively, please take your device to your nearest Nokia Care Point or call your Local Careline, please find the details via this link.
Feel free to post any other questions you may have.
    Regards,

  • Curve 8520 keeps freezing and going to white screen

I recently had my curve replaced after the trackpad stopped working. Now my new curve keeps freezing when I'm on the internet, the screen will get white lines across it which gradually get bigger until the whole screen is white. A reboot doesn't work unless the phone is plugged into the charger and the problem never happens when the phone is on charge.
I've tried changing the browser settings so JavaScript isn't enabled, I've also reinstalled the software and finally decided to wipe my blackberry and restored it to the file i had saved from my old curve and I'm still getting the same problem.
I'm not sure whether it's linked to the battery as it also happens when making a call if the battery is low and when I reboot my curve after it's gone to a white screen the battery has usually dropped a few bars (usually from full to 2 bars)
If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated!

Could someone please help me. I have a blackberry 8520 and I recently accidentally put ONLY the keypad in the water but luckily I read that you have to keep it in the sun for 24 hours and it worked, next my charger port broke of then I got it fixed but right after I got it fixed every time I fully charge my phone or it have 2 or more bars in like 10 or 7mins it freezes and their are these lines then it goes into a white screen. I took the battery and put the batter back in the phone worked fine but then the battery went from full to battery drained shutting down?!? What do I do??

  • Curve 9300 White screen problem, PLEASE HELP!

Hi guys, so basically, I've been having this problem for a little while now of which my phone freezes at a random stage, white screens with the red LED light ON and reboots itself. I have tried several things from this forum so far.
I have backed up the phone on desktop manager
I have re-installed the OS twice now, (downgrading OS's)
I tried to use the phone without the memory card or SIM in, I used an app called 'kik' for a little while, but eventually as suspected it froze, white screened and the issue persisted.
I can easily text one person on the phone, but as soon as I receive a text as I'm typing it freezes the phone, white screens, reboots. Back to square one.
Something you may need to know is that a while ago, I was in a storm, the phone did get slightly wet, and it did actually stop working. I placed it in a tub of rice for the night, and hey presto it worked again, was happy with that, but from just about a few days after it was working fine, it started doing this.
Is it the water damage creating this problem, if so would a repair store be able to fix this problem for me?
The phone is in a tub of rice again right now, doubt it'll make a difference though.
YOUR FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, THANK YOU!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
While the rice trick is good, only waiting 8 hours ("for the night") is dangerous...typically, waiting 5 days in the rice before applying any power is needed, and even then there are no guarantees. Applying power to your BB between it getting wet and doing this process reduces the chances of success. Further, the only thing predictable about moisture intrusion into a BB (indeed, any electronic device) is that the results will be unpredictable. I've seen some come back up right away and be fine. I've seen others never work at all. I've seen still others run for a bit, and then die later. And every thing in between.
From what you describe, I would deduce that the 24 hours in the rice was not long enough, and corrosion continued internally, exacerbated by the application of power, eventually resulting in complete failure.
As for if anyone can fix it...at an internet distance, that is impossible to say. Only in-hand evaluation by a qualified BB hardware technician can provide you with a proper evaluation and estimate.
    Good luck!

  • WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH REM

I have a Zen Micro 5 gig. Had the WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH.
Upgraded to the latest firmware. Recharged for a loooooong time.
This is WHAT WORKED FOR ME:
I took out the FULLY CHARGED BATTERY and counted to 0 slowly.
I put the battery back in.
I held my finger on the PLAY/PAUSE button.
I then pushed the ON button to the ON position and held it till I saw an image
then release it and removed my finger from the PLAY/PAUSE button.
RESULT:? I can see what Creative wants me to see when I turn it on, a little puddle of
Zen water and Now Playing and all the other stuff.
In other words, it works again.

I have the same "white screen problem" on a daily basis. I have also been holding both buttons for a minute. Sometimes it helps. Sometimes the Apple logo appears for a less than 5 seconds - and then the screen turns white again. In the last few days the problem seems to have got worse, rendering the iPod Touch useless. Fully charged battery and enough memory to work with. I was close to throwing the machine out of the window - then tried to do a double-tap on the screen after pressing both buttons for a few seconds. This seems to cause a true re-start. I have tried to wipe the machine and reinstall software one by one. Same problem.

  • White screen of death STILL!?!?

Hi i still have the white screen of death, i toke apart my ipod (screen, and the main screen) i bot a new glass screen cover and another screen witch is the main touch screen behind the glass1. so i put the news 1s on and i still have the white screen of death iz there any comments on wat i should do next?

Deal with the experts and go to an Apple shop after you've made an appointment with the Genius Bar (or you may be lucky and just walk in to be served). They will have a quick look at the phone and give you a refurb replacement straight away if it is found to be faulty. I've had two replacements over the past 18mths (Original iPhone & 3GS) and the service is excellent.

  • White screen with no response to any input or hard reset.

I recently tried using my iPhone, and shortly after using it the screen began to malfunction, it stopped responding to touch, froze entirely, then did some of the normal LCD breaking stuff (strobes of colours, etc).
it is now stuck on a pure white screen, I cannot get any form of response from it, or even restart it, the entire system has frozen up. After a quick Google I found most people with this problem have dropped their phones in water or another fluid, and checked the water sensor they mentioned, just to see if anyone had dropped it in water and not told me, it does not seem to have been triggered (or even exist on this model from what I saw).
I am worried about leaving it on overnight as it won't shut down and seems to be putting off a small amount of heat (minuscule amounts). I know Apple have a habit of using batteries that like to go out in style, so I'm hoping this doesn't use on of those batteries.
Does anyone have any ideas of what could be the cause and any possible solutions? iTunes won't pick the phone up, my PC cannot either, not even in a Linux distribution (and that has picked up many devices Windows won't).
I would rather not have to send it in to be repaired or replaced as there are files on the phone I need but cannot access thanks to this problem.

Sorry, never heard of a blue water sensor. I'd plug your phone in to mains, leave it overnight and try again tomorrow.
There are many places other than Apple that repair iPhones. Here are a few...
