White Screen when FCP5 is paused

I have recently installed Final Cut Pro 5 onto my MacBook Pro for use with both HD footage from a Panasonic HVX200 and standard DV footage. When editing, I am not able to see frame by frame in the viewer or canvas. Instead I get a white screen everytime the video is paused, making edits very difficult and frusturating. Therefore I can see the video and hear the audio when it is playing, but the screen turns white when paused. Does anyone know the reason for this? Please help! Thanks

I'm having the same problem with the white screen on my 32 gb Touch. I connect it to my Mac Book Pro at night look at it in the morning and the screen is completely white. I have to hold down the center button and the top button to get it to restart and when it does the battery is in the red. I've exchanged it twice since September. I sent the last one to Apple and just got a cheery email from them telling me that they can't find anything wrong with it and they're sending it back with notes on troubleshooting.
I absolutely hate it when they pretend that this is the first time they've heard of such a thing. But I have AppleCare and I'm just going to keep taking it back until I get satisfaction.

  • Bright white screen when video is paused.

    Hello All,
I've looked everywhere for a solution to this problem and there has been no previous discussion. Basically, whenever the Video is paused, instead of the paused frame being shown, there is a bright white screen. It is worth nothing that this issue happens when I use the Darwin Streaming server. If I serve the video using IIS, the issue is not present.
This issue using the  Quicktime plugin is present in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and IE.
If someone could push me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • White Screen When You Click Pause in FCP

Hello, this is probably a real simple setting that i changed... but in my viewer when editing a video now... When the video is paused (spacebar), the viewer is white (I cannot see the screenshot of where i stopped)... But when i click play, i can see the video as normal...
Any idea on what setting i changed?

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

    Hello all,
I have a 14.88G iPod Nano that I currently use as my primary watch. A week or so ago I started to experience a blank white screen when I press the "sleep/wake" button instead of the watch face (I have it set to wake from sleep to display the clock). When I hard reset it, it will come back fine and the screen will respond and work as normal, as soon as I manually put it to sleep by pressing the "sleep/wake" button and then try to wake it the same thing happens and I have a blank white screen that doesn't respond to touch gestures or anything.
What I have tried so far to no avail:
Numerous hard restarts (holding the "sleep/wake" button with the volume - button).
Tried this: iPod nano (6th generation): Hardware troubleshooting
Changed the watch face to display.
Recharged the device overnight (without full discharge).
Since none of this works I'm out of ideas. Eventhough I have a 6G Nano it should no longer be under warranty since I was sent it as a replacement for a different (older) product.
Any ideas? Is this a known problem? Thanks in advance for any insight any of you could provide. Also, what time is it??
    Regards,

    Hey,
I have the exact same problem as you have described. I also used my ipod as a watch but starting from today, whenever I unlock it the screen turns white until a reset is done. Even a factory reset through itunes didn't fix it.
    Have you found any solution?
    Bah, this is annoying.

I am having exactly the same problem right now. After some research, it looked like my HD was toast. I replaced it today, that part was easy, but now I cannot seem to use my original Install Disk to format the new HD. I get a grey restart screen, or if I get to the Language Selection screen, my cursor is frozen in left corner and I can't use it.
Very frustrating, hope someone else has some ideas!
PS My MacBook was about same age, and "expired" in exactly the same way as yours.

  • White screen when I turn the Satellite M50 on

I intermittently just get a white screen when I turn the computer on. Usually the problem is solved by switching the computer off and trying again - but sometimes I get a white screen again.
It seems to be connected to use of external devices - can anyone give me clear instructions about what should/should not be connected when I start and shut down the computer? Or any other suggested solutions?
    Thanks

Thanks for your reply/advice - and the tip about Antivir. I used to use AVG and then Norton came as a package with this laptop....will have a re-think when my subscription need renewing.
I have updated the display/graphics driver but am still having the same problem of a white screen at boot-up. On reflection I think it is possibly a loose connection as I have just been a long trip with the laptop - including a fairly bumpy 4 hour bus ride - and I recall having the same problem several months ago which self-corrected after a similar trip (taking it down to a Toshiba ASP who never saw it as they were closed for the week-end and I had to get back to work!). This may sound strange but I took the laptop for a walk yesterday to see if any loose connection would shift and it then booted up on the second attempt rather than the 8th!
I guess I'll have to take it to the ASP - unfortunately it's no longer under warranty.
    EDIT:
Problem solved. High temperature caused this issue

  • White screen when turn ipod touch on...help

There is a white screen when I turn my iPod touch on.   please help

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I have a bright white screen when turning on my ipod nano 7th gen.  Have tried resetting etc etc. Any further ideas?

I have a bright white screen when turning on my nano 7th gen. Have tried resetting and restoring settings - no change. Any ideas please?

    Hello pipworms,
I would be concerned too if my iPod nano's was just showing a white screen.  I recommend following the steps below:
    Display shows a white screen
Try putting the iPod into disk mode:
Reset the device (Reset the device by pressing the Sleep and Home buttons simultaneously until the display shows the Apple logo. This should take about eight seconds).
When the Apple logo appears, press and hold the Volume Down and Volume Up buttons simultaneously until the device enters Disk Mode.
While the device is in disk mode, sync it to iTunes and try to restore.
I got this information from the following article for the 6th generation iPod nano.  The steps are the same, except I updated the reset steps with the reset for the 7th generation iPod nano:

Sometimes my ipod gen 5 display white screen when i choose to see a photo , was it broken ?

    Likely a corrupted photo file:
    Try:
    - Importing the proplem photos to your computer and viewing them
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Backup and then restore from backup. See:
