White spot when unlock with Touch ID

When I unlock my iPhone 5s using touch ID there is white spot on the screen while unlock animation. If I enter password everything is ok.

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you are having trouble adding a fingerprint. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.

Get help with Touch ID
Make sure that you're using the latest version of iOS.
Make sure that your fingers and the Home button are clean and dry.*
Cover the Home button completely. Don't tap too quickly, don't press down hard, and don't move your finger while Touch ID is scanning. Make sure that your finger touches the metal ring around the Home button.
If you're using a case or screen protector, make sure it doesn't cover the Home button or the surrounding ring. If it does, remove the case or screen protector and try again.
Tap Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and make sure that iPhone Unlock or iTunes & App Store is on. Also make sure that you've enrolled one or more fingerprints.
Try enrolling a different finger.
If you can't enroll any of your fingers, take your device to an Apple Retail Store, Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact AppleCare for help.
* Moisture, lotions, sweat, oils, cuts, or dry skin might affect fingerprint recognition. Certain activities can also temporarily affect fingerprint recognition, including exercising, showering, swimming, cooking, or other conditions or changes that affect your fingerprint.

when I go to unlock my screen with the "touch ID" the home screen opens for a flash then goes to a black screen and the "apple" logo appears for 10-20 seconds then locks again. If I try to unlock with touch ID again it'l work usually. When using my pass code with the keypad no issue. Phone is brand new 7.0.4 software was already installed on the phone.

Unfortunately that is not my case: I close all open apps several times a day and just had four open windows in Safari.
I closed all of them, just to make sure and did a reboot.
That helped for around 5 times, then the phone does the same thing again.
It actually doesn't reboot but just displays the black apple logo on a white screen for about 10 seconds and after that gives me the home screen.
So it is definitely not a reboot, I think.
Until now I assume it is an error, it would just be nice to know if it is a hardware or software error.....

My iphone 5s had white light leaks on lcd after unlocked with touch id. It's a bit confusing because if I unlock with passcode, there's no white light leaks. Does anyone have the same issue? What should I do?

2. Use Black/Dark wallpaper on Home & Lock Screen.
3. Create minimum four folders either on the home screen or the second having some applications in each.

6. Now move/drag two of the folders to the other second page.
7. Go back to Home Screen and lock the phone.
8. Unlock with Touch ID and there is no Burst of White Light.
OR
Repeat step 1 and 2 as listed above.
1. Go to the second screen (after home screen) and create three or four folders with applications in it.
2. Lock the iPhone while on the same screen.
3. Unlock with Touch ID and there is a Burst of White Light.
4. Now drag or remove the folders with only two left.
5. Lock the iPhone while on the same screen.
6. Unlock with Touch ID and there is no Burst of White Light.

Devices:
The burst of light on iPhone 5s is easily recognized but on iPhone 6 its for a fraction of a second. Not checked on iPhone 6+.

White spots on the Twist touch screen issue (pressure point)

Hi,
I purchased the Lenovo Twist two month ago.
Recently, I found three white spots (known as pressure points) on my screen,
so I sent it to the depot for warrant service.
The service center said the white spots were caused by a physical damage such as a strong pressure,
so it could not be covered by warranty and I should pay about $700 to fix it.
I am very careful with my laptop and do not believe the white spots were due to strong pressure.
If they were caused by a regular touching on the screen (since Twist is touch-available screen), it must be manufacturing defect.
Any suggestions for this issue? Or should I just give up and learn to live with them?

If anybody's reading this in the future, DP's advice definitely worked. I hadn't removed the video card originally. When I did, I noticed that it had so much dust in it that the fan wasn't able to operate. Embarrassing. Anyways, I cleaned it out and now the computer's running smoothly. A lot quieter too!

White flare when unlocking iPhone via TouchID

Hi there...
I just noticed that every time I unlock my iPhone 5s via TouchID there is a white flare at the top left of the screen.
The flare is definitly software-related an not a hardware problem - as I am able to screenshot it using iOS.
I tried to reboot the phone, close all apps, disable and re-enable TouchID, change contrast and so on. I did not restore my iPhone yet - I hope there is another solution.
Anyway, does anyone maybe has a helping tip for me? My iPhone is currently running iOS 7.0.4 - the flare only displays when using TouchID. When unlocking via passcode or 'slide to unlock' it does not show.

Ok, I found the problem by myself and it seems to be a bug in the firmware:
If the 6th icon on the homescreen has a relatively long caption then the problem appears. I for myself have the reminders there BUT my phone is set to German so it says "Erinnerungen". I also tried it with the settings app which says "Einstellungen" in German.
I reported the bug 15533799.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

White shadow in top left corner of screen when unlocking with fingerprint only

White shadow has started showing up in top left corner on the transition from lock screen, then disappears. This is new, and it concerns me that it could be a progressive problem. Is this a hardware or software issue? Am I going to have to take it in?

I have an issue with a white rectangular box appearing in the top left corner of my laptop screen.
Do you have any Modern UI Fullscreen (MUF) apps running then? Sounds like a thumbnail for one that you could dig out of the corner by using your mouse pointer or see the whole MUF bar by pressing Win-Ctrl-Tab. If it is staying around
as an artifact that would indicate a problem with your GPU. To change that you could try using Internet Options, Advanced tab, Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering.

Getting white screen when booting with alt key

Hi, I've installed windows 7 with boot camp on my brand new iMac 27" on OS X Lion.
Everything works fine when I configure boot camp to start as mac, or as windows.
However If I press the alt key when booting, as per this tutorial http://labnol.blogspot.com/2006/04/boot-camp-tutorial-install-windows-xp.html I get a white screen and that's it. Any Idea as to what might be the problem?

Try resetting the Parameter RAM (PRAM) - pronounced peeram. Restart the mac and depress the P, R, alt and command keys simultaneously. You should hear the boot chime. Keep the keys depressed until you hear the boot chime three more times. Release the keys thereafter.
Other possibilities are: you're filling up the hard drive and you need to clear some space; a problem is developing with the hard drive and/or directory structure. You need to run a disk repair utility such as fsck, DU's Repair Disk coupled with Repairing Privileges or something 3rd-Party such as Disk Warrior.

Photo Booth taking white photos when used with Manycam

I'm trying to use photobooth to take photos with the program manycam but every time I take a Photo it show up white and and some of it but barely any of the photo lightish blue like its devoloping into the full picture but it just stays like that. Taking video works fine, its just taking pictures.

[Bug] Alarm bugged when unlocking with camera.

I'm probably the 1,000,000th person to report this, but I thought I would pass it on anyway.
If you unlock your iPhone through the quick camera button on the lock screen while an alarm is currently sounding, you can no longer turn the alarm off and must cycle the phones power to stop the alarm.
To replicate:
Set an alarm for any time.
Lock your phone. (I was not using a password.)
When the alarm sounds, double click the home button.
Enter the phone through the camera button.
Enjoy continuous alarm.

White screen when publishing with CS6

I have a strange problem, maybe someone already got it and knows how to solve it...
I use Flash CS6 and suddenly when trying to publish a file I was working on for a few days now, I received a blank white screen.
I checked and found that the problem is not in a specific file, but in every file I try publish using Flash Player above version 9.
I also discovered that when I try to run the generated SWF it runs without any problem. It looks good. Just during publishing nothing shows up on the screen and there are no traces.
However, if I press F12 I see everything and it works, but does not display traces.
I updated Flash player versions - did not help ..
I even re-installed Flash CS6, but the problem didn't go away..
Any ideas?

Has she enabled it though her XP firewall ?
Has she enable the ports AIM needs in her modem ?

InDesign CS3 "White Box" when printing with linked Photoshop EPS files

This problem has been covered before, but never really resolved:

Now, I'm aware that we should no longer be using EPS files. I wholeheartedly agree. But until we can convince the department to change to another format (namely PSD or TIFF) for our vast library of images, I need a workaround.
It seems that setting the clipping path for each linked image to "Photoshop Clipping Path" resolves this issue. So I tried writing an AppleScript that would find each linked Photoshop EPS and set it's clipping path to "Photoshop clipping path", but it didn't work for me (my expertise with AppleScript is basically nil.)
Can anyone assist with the creation of this script? Or does anyone have a better suggestion for solving or working around the Photoshop EPS erratic white box printing problem?

Brian, this script seems to do the job with one very important caveat: I see no way of finding out which path is active in the EPS (in case that more than one). So the script simply activates the first in the list.

When unlocking with correct password, a message appears before pressing enter ! Disclosing (almost) password !! - Severe Security Breach !

In the new OS 5 (which I was updated to last week), if you define a password to lock your device, when you enter the correct password, before you press enter or the trackball, a message appears on top in a red frame "Press (green phonetube) to attemp an Emergency call".
This red frame/message might confirm to an unauthorized user trying to unlock the device, that he/she has guessed the correct password.
I think the correct operation should be to wait for a "enter" and if password is correct then unlock the device, otherwise anounce an incorrect password message and keep device locked.

The "Press (green phonetube) to attemp an Emergency call" is not confirming the password is correct, it is offering to allow you make a call to your local emergency number rather than typing in a password.

White spot replacement scheme still available

I bought a 15" Aluminium G4 about 5 years ago and after using it for a year it developed white spots on the screen.
At the time, I contacted Apple and was told I would have to pay for a new screen, some extortionate amount. Not happy (at all) with Apple I used it for a few more months and then bought a PC, which I've used since.
Since then, I recently decided to use the G4 for playing music in a room in my house and Lo and Behold!... the spot was still there.
Curious, I went online and found that Apple had already launched a screen replacement for this issue when I called and published a range of serial numbers (of which this falls between) of affected machines.
What are the chances of getting it repaired for free by Apple? Don't laugh (I know they're ruthless).

Lister 888: at this point your only option is to make a case for service through Apple Customer Relations 1-800-767-2775. Documentation is important.
Out of curiosity, does the serial number of your white-spot PB start with "W8"? There are a lot of reports of PBs from the same factory having display issues, although they are usually vertical lines, not spots. (Don't post your serial number--yes or no will suffice.)
