White square on lap top

I have just notice on my lap top a little white square appears on the screen in the top right corner when I am watching bt-sports . Does anyone else get this , what is it and can I get rid of it .

You may notice a white square at the top right of the screen when watching live BT Sport channels on the app or online.
It's nothing to worry about. The graphic is there to clearly identify video streams originating from the app and website, to prevent their unlawful use.

I have never seen DEVELOP on the menu bar for Safari, hence my query regarding testing.
What OS are you using and what version of Safari?
If you want to check your HDD, Open Disk Utilities>First Aid and run Verify and Repair.
The only remedy that I can think of that may work is an OS reinstall.
I seriously doubt that your MBP is being hacked.

IPhone 5 white squares a the top of the screen

Appered just from nowhere, small white squares on the top of a screen. Since then my iPhone isn't responding to touch on that area for ex. I can't pull notification bar down or click high put buttons. Is there any possible way to fix it or do i need to replace the whole phone?

I am also disappointed. Got white lil squares too on my screen and cant do anything. Now it's an effin piece of ****. Went to the store and they said motherboard is busted and i need 400$ to have it replaced. This happened after the update a week ago and then while i was surfing the net it stopped working

Hello, I have the same problem. With Iphone 5S when I open an App, sometimes, not always, emerges a flash light on the top right corner of the screen. It last only half a second but it *****. I went to Apple Store, and in the Genius Bar they took a look, said they didn't know the problem, but I insisted and they changed the Iphone for free. At home, the new Iphone 5S does the same.

iMac boots to black screen and then shows flashing white square in the top left of the screen. After a few seconds an error message - i assume appears.

Can load diagnostic disc and run diagnostics with no errors

The disc0s2 should be your OS X boot volume. Have you tried starting from the Install DVD1? Start from the DVD and when you get to the OS X installer go to Disk Utility in the Utilities menu and select First Aid. Choose the top drive in the left hand column and repair. Repair as many times as necessary until no more repairs are reported. Quit Disk Utility. Then go to Startup Disk in the Utilities menu and choose the OS x volume on your Mac and restart.
Let us know what happens.

I have been wondering what that Small white square is that appears in top left corner of some Quicktime movies I make? When I export to Flash and upload, or even just upload to Vimeo an H.264 file, there it is, little white square. Solved it by de-installing Adobe Flash Player plug-in and installing it again. All good now

HT4500 I downloaded my hard drive contents from a hard drive Holder to my lap top. I have all of those files but now I cannot find the original pictures and such from the computer before the trasnfer. Hoe do I get them back without losing what I just tran

I down loaded my entire contents of my desk top hard drive to my lap top. Now I don't know where my original files and pictures are. How do I find them or down load just what I am missing with out losing what I just installed ?

Hi Again, Well I found Carbon Copy Clone on my old hard drive so I didn't even need to download it. I just dragged it onto my desktop and I did as you said. Using CCC and within the folder of users which has my folder of old hard drive there now shows a file called.autodiskmounted (whatever that means) and then it has a version of my hard drive below that called hard drive 1, which has nothing, but above both of these folders, there is a folder with an old user name which shows up empty on the hard drive when I search it, but actually shows lots of folders on the CCC. So without getting too excited, it lists some folders and amongst them are folders I cant see normally in the old hard drive, like my safari settings and favourites, and movies music and pictures. However in the movies pictures and music folders I can only see a blackish square that looks a bit like a blank screen with the text.localised after it .
Does this mean anything to you / Is there apossibility they may be there? When I selected my new laptop as the destination i got this message below so I did not proceed any further as I'm not sure it will back up the files I need..

Hi,
Shut down the notebook. Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to enter the Start-up Menu. Select the Bios option ( usually f10 ) and under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run a test on the Hard Drive. Post back with the details of any error messages.

Lap top quit working

My lap top is toast. I am getting a new one soon. Will I my get my music on the new lap top?

If your hard drive is still good you can put it in an external case and get you stuff off of it that way.

White square in captured video

Every time I capture any video I get a white square in the middle of the film. These are not movie tapes but regular VCR tapes. I have many capture programs and all have the same white square.
It worked good up to a week ago.
I'am thinking take the card back to the store.
All drivers are up to date.
Win 2000, P4 Intel 2.4,ASUS p4c800MB, 1 Gig DDram 3300.

I take it you mean the White Bar across the screen?
If so..
Our forum "Search" option brings back a lot of decent results.
Click on the icon at the top of this forum and enter "white bar" (without parenthesis), in the "Search for keyword" select match exact phrase, under "...where and how", select "Multimedia (VGA and optical drives)" don't change anything else and click on the "Search" button.
You should get at least 11 results.
some were reporting reverting to an older capture driver solved the problem. You are on your own, as I didn't take the time to see when these posts were made and/or if the older version of the capture drivers are available here.
You may have to look to a third party solution or a website, like Driverheaven or guru3D............Nvidia may help too but I do not know. Make sure you uninstall the capture driver properly before you install the other.

Little red X inside white square box

Hi can anyone help me out with this problem? I have
a little red x inside of a white square box after I inserted a

Did you just change the file extension? If so, that is why it
wont work,
it needs to be a jpg file, not just a px file with a jpg
extension.
Photodex needs to output a jpg, if it can't, then this file
can not be
used on the internet.

White Square in the menu bar (Not a hardware issue)

Hi there,
I have a Macbook Pro 13" with Retina display (late 2012), and I recently updated Mac OS to Yosemite.
After updating, I have noticed that there is a white square in my menu bar and I do not know how to fix it, I can tell that it isn't a dead pixel as I can zoom into it and it will not remain in the same place, it will zoom in normally as if it is 'stuck' on the screen, I will add some screenshots to explain my issue:
As you can see here, there is a white square in the menu bar near the centre of the screen at the top.
When I zoom in, it moves to suit, and if I place my cursor over the white square, then it disappears as if it is a layer below the cursor, below shows how it doesn't stay in the top of the screen when I zoom in:

My family uses a single lap-top as our main internet connection and when we synch our respective I-pods, our I-tunes account seems to wipe-out our playlists, even though we have tried to create separate I-tune accounts. Help!!

My family uses a single lap-top as our home computer and several of us have i-pods that we like to synch, using I-tunes. Although we've tried to create separate I-tune accounts, our i-tunes playlists are getting wiped out when one of us deletes songs on our I-pod and it seems as though I-tunes is not distinguishing our distinct accounts and all i-pods are being synched to reflect the latest i-pod anyone makes on their respective account. It appears as though our distinct I-tune accounts are not being loaded on our lap-top when we sign in and unfortunately, when we're in I-tunes, there is nothing to indicate what account is on the screen. For all the glowing appraisals apple-related products usually receive, we are finding i-tunes and its interface with our respective i-pods to be a very, very frustrating experience.
Can anyone shed some light on this for a family of non-techies? Thx

You need to create separate Windows user accounts if you want to seperate the behaviour of iTunes for each user. That also means separate iTunes libraries for each user.
Windows is a multi-user operating system but you are not using it properly. iTunes is not a multi-user application. No application is. You can't expect it to treat different users differently when they are all using the same computer user account.

About three days ago the ability to connect came and went and the connection never lasted more than 10-15 minutes; it has not been able to connect since last night. I do not think it's my wifi router as non-mac lap top has no issues. I have seem many similar questions posted.

Reboot your router by removing all power from it for about 15 seconds. Also, if your router still has its default SSID (such as LINKSYS, DLINK, NETGEAR, etc) change the SSID to something unique. Note that all other devices on your network will have to be reconnected if you change the name, but if the name is still the default that is most likely your problem.
If the SSID is not the default then the reboot should fix it.
