White swatch does not show on PDF or print-outs...
Hi,
I've been noticing this glitch with the white swatch option more and more:
When I apply it to objects, it appears in the file, but when I generate a PDF it vanishes, and of course does not show on the print-out either.
Also, it won't show up on the print-out directly output from Illustrator.
Anyone seen this issue?
When I change the color to anything else but white, the graphics show up again.

If you turn on Overprint Preview in Illustrator, does it also disappear?
Overprint may be turned on, check the Attributes pallet, and uncheck Overprint Fill and/or Overprint Stroke.

It sounds like the features are working through the USB connection rather than the wireless connection since it is still not seeing the networks.
Everything points to a hardware failure since the steps provided through the private message did not work and the wireless test showed it had failed. Sorry.
You do have some options at this point.
If it is under warranty, either standard or extended, you can contact HP support at 1-800-474-6836 to have it serviced under warranty.
If it is out of warranty, you can still contact HP support to find out all the options and the cost of each option. However, it is my opinion that this money would be better spend being applied towards a new printer.

Regarding printing PDF documents...It depends on the PDF document that you are trying to print. In general, it will take longer to print more complex and larger PDF documents.

Actual printing is handled by iOS (not by Adobe Reader) via AirPrint over Wi-Fi connection. We've heard from other users about iOS 8 Wi-Fi connectivity problems.

The FND_REQUEST.SUBMIT_REQUEST will call another Host program which will send an email with the specified Body and Subject.
The report pdf output will be an attachment along with the email.
Issues faced
When I click on the Report Concurrent Program output, I can see the XMLP pdf output, but when the pdf file comes to my email address, it does not open,
because, it is actually an xml file with the extension of pdf.
I am actually picking up the file output from fnd_concurrent_requests. When I check the file it is xml, but in the conc manager it opens as a pdf,
Is there a way by which I can pick up the pdf file and not the xml file. Is there any other location where this pdf file gets stored, which I see in the Conc manager output window, but not in the fnd_concurrent_requests table.
I also notice that the pdf file gets generated in the Conc manager output window, irrespective of whether or not I use the code for
fnd_request.add_layout.
But when I use : fnd_request.add_layout, the Host program ends with a Warning, whereas if I don''t use it, then it completes successfully.
But still the problem of the attachment persists.

2. another way is,
in your after report trigger, call another program. In that program, wait until your original program completes. After it is done, get the path and PDF file name, call your host program, passing the PDF file name as parameter. You need to modify your host program, a bit. -
HT204053 2nd SD Card does not show up on desktop with out Restarting computer.
I have iMac. I use 2 sets (A1-A2 and B1-B2) of dual SD cards for 2 videography cameras. A1 and A2 are identical. B1 and B2 are identical. Initally all SD cards showed up on desktop. They erased in Disk Utility when I'd downloaded the data. Then suddenly w/ no changes to computer or software, only 1 card would show up when I inserted it into the SD slot. If I insert 2nd card, nothing showed up on desktop, in finder or in disk utility. BUT, if I did a Restart, with the 2nd card in the slot, when the computer came back on, behold, there it was. I downloaded the contents, erased it in disk utility. I need to erase 4 32 Gb SD cards and erase them. I'm currently rebooting 3 times to accomplish this. It's a HUGE HUGE time sink to do this every time I want to download from cards. What's going on with the rebook solution? and how can I get back to better functioning? Solutions please. Thank you.
Are you using the USB cable that came with the shuffle? The 2nd gen shuffle uses the USB cable with a mini-dock at the shuffle end. The USB cable for the 3rd and 4th (current) gen shuffle does not work, because the connector is different.
If you are using the correct USB cable... The shuffle will not continously appear on the Mac's desktop unless it is set to Enable disk use. So "does not appear on desktop" may be OK.
It should appear in iTunes. The latest version of iTunes may hide the sidebar. To show the sidebar, from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. With the sidebar visible, the shuffle does not appear under DEVICES in the sidebar when connected? -
Win7 does not show "Adobe PDF" printer using Acrobat 8 Pro
using Acrobat Pro 8.1.0 I cannot see or add Adobe PDF printer. I do see "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" as a printer.
Concentrate on getting the scanner working without any Adobe software. Once you can scan to a file, any OSX program (except Adobe) that can read the file can generate PDF files via the Print command.

It seems to be an issue with your phone software. I would suggest to update it. I doubt this is related to Adobe Reader.

Canon MP210 just will not show up in Add Printer
Trying to help a friend get new (to her) printer added in OS 10.5.8... There isn't even a network involved, just trying to add it as simple USB.
It's a Canon Pixma MP210 and wasn't in the printer descrips, so i downloaded and installed the most recent driver for it from Canon, which is noted as good for 10.5 etc (and is CUPs to boot).
its Installer runs just fine... but printer still does not show up in Add Printer, despite restarts, printer attached, not attached, whatever. printer is not in list, "Print Using..." shows no options, and "Add" is greyed out.
The printer itself was never used by its former owner, it's like new, so it's not likely broken.
i attempted to repair permissions, and ran into no-go there too. It sticks on acquiring the database, doesn't even get to a progress bar (let it run for almost an hour, no change). Same thing when i start it up/run repair permissions from retail OS 10.5 DVD.
And this on a smallish (60GB) hard drive that has barely anything on it ....she mostly just websurfs and emails. Tho the finder is a bit slow, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the mac (it's an iBook G4) and it passes disk first aid fine.

If Repair Permissions is not completing then something would be amiss with the OS. But I've never a repair permissions resolve a printer not appearing in the Default browser view. It could certainly fix an issue with the printer being seen but the driver not being found. But for the printer not to be visible in the Default view when it is connected to the Mac via USB, then I don't believe a permissions repair will resolve this - especially also if the printer is not visible in System Profiler. Personally I found a reset of the printing system rather than a repair disk permissions to be more helpful. -
When printing an AutoCAD-exported PDF file, the paper version has lines that screen does not show

We were contacted by our customer, a landscape architectural company that uses our product, M-Color, (http://m-color.com) to plot AutoCAD drawings with required preferences and effects.
However, they provided us with a sample PDF files, that contain examples of scanned drawings, that have some "ghost lines" at the drawings that the screen does not show.
We tracked the issue and it appears to be an issue with Adobe Reader pringing. We tried many versions from 8.0 version onwards to the latest versions available in public, all represent the same issue.
This may be an issue of the original drawing having some line that was not marked ending at some point.
The zip file within the link below has three PDF files, two from the company that brought this issue to our awareness and the one with name "scanstation" is printed by me, and then scanned with markings to explain the issue.
Any ideas what would be the best solution to solve this issue?

I really need someone to help me. I have been trying to figure out how to select a PDF document to convert to a Word doc. When I go to select a PDF file, all that shows up is the WORD docs. does not show ANY of my PDF files... Please help me figure out what is going on? We have it set on auto renewal so I know its not that we haven't renewed this subscription, because we pay automatically.

Adobe Illustrator CS5 does not show PDF thumbnails when browsing
When I am browsing through PDF files to open one of them in Adobe Illustrator CS5 it does not show the thumbnail. When I am browsing in Adobe Acrobat it does show the thumbnails. If I have Adobe Acrobat open and am browsing through files and the thumbnails are showing then if I open Adobe Illustrator and browse for a file the thumbnail does show up.
How can I get Illustrator to always show the PDF thumbnails. I have to frequently browse through thousands of PDF files and it is imperative that I can see the thumbnail for these PDF files. I primarily use Illustrator to edit PDF files.
The computer is Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit edition. Thumbnails barely work when browsing files through Explorer. Some thumbnails will show, but not very many of them and it is extremely slow to load the thumbnails that will display.Bob,

Exporting pdf does NOT show my headers and footers
I export number files to my administrators. I've noticed when I print my file directly from my computer in iWork/Numbers it prints and show the footer and header. However, when I send a bcc to myself when I attach the pdf file to my administrator, it does not show or print my headers and footers. Any ideas?
Re-reading the original question, it does appear that Gogoette is exporting to PDF then attaching the file to an email versus using the "Send via email as PDf" operation. In that case, setting it to Page View for the export will solve the problem. I had originally thought "Send via email as PDF" was being used. What I noticed is that it doesn't give you the choice of page versus sheet view but if you first go through the motions of exporting, it sets it up. In prior threads about exporting to PDF, we have all recommended using Print, not export, and choosing Print to PDF (rather than to a printer) as the best way to create a PDF. It gives more flexibility, such as allowing you to choose which pages to "print to PDF".

Background does not show up when creating a PDF in InDesign

-When I select Overprint Preview in Indesign the background is missing.
-I have created pdfs in different presets (smallest, high quality, etc) and still background does not show up.
-When I place ONLY the background on a new InDesign document, it does show up in the PDF.
-I have created a pdf with the background in Illustrator and it does show in my PDF.
