Whiteboard & Powerpoint share failing !!

Hello All,
I am having issues with sharing the Whiteboard and Powerpoint with external users. The error which I am getting is "Some sharing features are unavailable due to server connectivity issues" which seems to be a generic error. I cant say if the desktop sharing
is working 100% fine as it works 7/10 times.
I found that the certificate which is assigned to my reverse proxy server is a wild card certificate and does not have Meet, or dial in url as Subject alternative name as suggested in
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg429704.aspx.
Now, my question is :
Is my problem because of the certificate which I have? (I dont believe so, cos if that is the case the Meet url itself should fail which is not hapening in my case.)
Or the cause could be something else?
Regards
NS

Hello All,
A very very happy new yr to all...!!
Well, my issue is still not resolved. I feel my proxy server perfectly fine as my issue of Whiteboard, Powerpoint and Polling sharing is only while using the Lync attendee.. Which means its a Web conferencing edge problem. I looked into my edge server and
I noticed an event id which gives me hint that the edge conferencing is not able to reach the front end conferencing..!! Here is the event id :-
Log Name:      Lync Server
Source:        LS Web Conferencing Edge Server
Event ID:      41987
Task Category: (1023)
Level:         Error
Keywords:      Classic
User:          N/A
Computer:      LyncEdge.xxxx.COM
Description:
Server connection failed to establish.
Over the past 121 minutes Lync Server has experienced TLS outgoing connection failures 1 time(s). The error code of the last failure is 0x80090308 (The token supplied to the function is invalid
) while trying to connect to the host "".
Cause: This can occur if the destination is not configured or unreachable from this host.
Resolution:
Check your topology configuration to ensure the destination host can be reached and is a valid Web Conferencing Server configured to accept connections.
I tried restarting the Front End conferencing service as well, still no help...

  • Share fails

trying to use iMovie 10.0.1 and share the resulting work as a file. Keep getting "Share failed" because of video rendering error -50. I can see the movie in its entirety in my theater (even though that share also was tagged as failing). So, anybody have any idea?

If the volume's formatted as FAT32, it can't hold files which are 4GB or larger regardless of how much free space it has.

  • SCCM 2012 with MDT integrated: dynamic logging to \\servername\share\failed\computername or ...\succesfull\computername

    Hi,
I have this SCCM 2012 standard CM task sequence which writes its logs at the end of the task sequence to a folder. When succesfull to\\server\share\success\computername, when failed to \\server\share\failed\computername
It then also sends a mail with location of logfiles.
Please advise on dynamic logging within sccm 2012 R2: how do I configure this? In ini-file, I set the SLShareDynamicLogging to a servershare?
    J.
    Jan Hoedt

It would be customsettings.ini in MDT and this is not available in native CM12 task sequences. Integrating MDT in CM12 would add that. You can set task sequence variables in CM12 though using computer variables, collection variables, task sequence steps
or scripts during the task sequence.

  • IMovie share failed

help!  ASAP!  Making my daugher's grad imovie - trying to share so I can then convert to DVD.
I am trying to copy (share) into the burn folder so I can burn to CD  (worked last time I did this so I took notes)
Message I get during "share"  Share Failed:  The share operation "File" has failed"

To make a video DVD you need iDVD.
Why is there no iDVD on my new Mac? How do I get it and how do I install it?
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3673
To burn a DVD with iDVD from the latest version of iMovie, you have to export the movie using the Export button and select 480p as the size. Open iDVD and start a new project, then drag that exported movie file into the iDVD menu window, avoiding any drop zones you see.
What you are attempting will result in a data DVD that will not play on anything except your own mac.

  • Uploading Youtube Vid. URL to Cisco Show and Share failed

Uploading Youtube Vid. URL to Cisco SnS failed. I get error msg. : Connection to video server failed

    Chris,
The YouTube videos are typically Flash content.
The key here is that you need to download the Flash content
yourself and then Upload to the Show and Share.
Use the DIRECT URL of the Flash Content on YouTube to download
the FLV to you Personal device.  After file successfully download, simply
upload the file to Show and Share.
    For example:
Cisco Show and Share Flash Demo
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzquCVvS0qQ
    * this link is the actual Dashboard URL not the video link
    http://v4.lscache8.c.youtube.com/videoplayback?ip=0.0.0.0&sparams=id%2Cexpire%2Cip%2Cipbits%2Citag%2Calgorithm%2Cburst%2Cfactor%2Coc%3AU0dWRlRRVF9FSkNNNl9MS1hB&fexp=904405%2C901902&algorithm=throttle-factor&itag=34&ipbits=0&burst=40&sver=3&expire=1271466000&key=yt1&signature=1E65C92607546EA03DE0D1082884574D3F58AD0F.93FF9FDB00B10B44BBB52F31AADF3EB50FCEB7CC&factor=1.25&id=673aae095bd2d2a4&
    * Actual URL of Video Content
    ========================================================
FOR THOSE THAT ARE USING OSX & SAFARI:
    ======================================
If you need to download FLASH Content for TESTING in your DMS Solution, You
can download Flash Videos from YouTube.
Note: The Video Quality is NOT HD or even SD...  it is ID (Internet Definition)
Also, the downloaded file will be a .flv Flash File.
    1. Open a Video on YouTube, Google Video etc.
    2. Press "Alt+Cmd(Apple-Key)+A" - A window opens named "Activity".
    3. Select the ".flv" file (looking on filesize helps) and press "Cmd(Apple-Key)+C" to copy.
Paste with "Cmd(Apple-Key)+V" the URL to your Adress Bar and press Enter.
    4. If you need a different video format such as MPEG, WMV, or SWF; you will need to convert
the downloaded ".flv" file with VisualHub or VLC

  • 2003 to 2008 R2 file cluster migration - shares fail to migrate due to missing client access point

    Hello,
I need to migrate my 2003 cluster to 2008 R2, but am having difficulty doing so. I have a 2003 2 node disk and node majority cluster which has 3 groups (2 individual file shares) and a separate group for the quorum.
    I'm trying to migrate my 2003 groups to a 2 node 2008 r2 cluster.
I've ran through the cluster migration wizard as
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff182337(v=ws.10).aspx), the disk resources within my group migrate, but the file shares don't.
    In summary:
    - I ran the 2008 r2 cluster run migration wizard and connected to my 2003 cluster
    - Once the wizard completes, I left the the newly migrated group on the 2008 r2 cluster offline
    - Took the appropriate file share and disk resource group offline on 2003
    - Ensured the iSCSI disks for my migrated data are showing correctly on the 2008 R2 node (I'm using the same drive letter which my 2003 node used for the moved disk)
    - I then brough the resources online. Resources fail to come online as client access point is missing, so I add a new access point (http://blogs.technet.com/b/askcore/archive/2010/08/24/using-multiple-client-access-points-cap-in-a-windows-server-2008-r2-failover-cluster.aspx)
    - Restart my 2008 r2 cluster node
    - File share is missing! The file share has not been imported
I then tried the registry key export and import:
    - On my 2003 active cluster node I export HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Shares
    - I take the appropriate cluster resource and disk offline on my 2003 node
    - Attach the disk to my 2008 R2 cluster node
    - Added the new disk as a cluster resource (again keeping the same drive letter)
    - Merged the 2003 registry key with the share information (note examining regedit shows the newly imported key)
    - Restart the server, but the share doesn't show up in the cluster administrator or share management tool on my 2008 R2
    1. Is it even possible to transfer file shares using the cluster migration wizard from 2003 to 2008 r2? Maybe I'm missing a step with the client access point (or do I need to transfer all cluster resources over at once).
    2. Should the registry key export import work, when the shares have been created under the cluster administration console (as opposed to windows explorer)?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Currently there is no such a tool which could help transfer Sharing permissions to a new server or a new cluster.
Here is an article about file share in a cluster:
Working with File Shares in Windows Server 2008 (R2) Failover Clusters
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/askcore/archive/2010/08/19/working-with-file-shares-in-windows-server-2008-r2-failover-clusters.aspx
From this article, share permission of a Windows Server 2008 R2 failover Cluster will be stored in HKLM\Cluster\Resources\<GUID>\Parameters.
You can test to export that keys to new cluster to see if shares will occur however as it is GUID involved, it may not work on a new cluster.

  • ZFS iscsi share failing after ZFS storage reboot

I use the VDI broker as the ZFS server which mounts an iscsi volume from a Linux box. The following shows an error in sharing a ZFS snaphoot via iscsi after a reboot. Not sure why. The same seems to happen with zfs clone as shown above.

  • Windows 8..home share fails

attempting to access my library  but am unable to share my new computer.. It seems to work, but alas, prior to trying, my account has 3 device  connected.. when I try to add the 4th, it fails..  but repeated attempts, say it is shared..anyone experience similar issues  . Not a fan of Windows  8   thanks

Standard partitioning for win8.x is 2 partitions (not one like yours and one empty). With UEFI systems, it's even 4 partitions. So someone has modified your installation thus that he skipped to create an extra boot partition but instead placed the boot files
on the windows partition - this is not bitlocker compatible.
I am not sure if bitlocker should be able to solve that on its own - but that's where your problem comes from.
You should read about how to create a separate boot partition and modify the boot entries using bcdedit. Afterwards, it will be bitlockable.

  • After update to 10.6.3 copy to a Samba share fails

I have just upgraded to 10.6.3. Since then whenever I copy a file from my iMac to a Samba share on a Linux server I get the error:
The operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items.
No changes were made on the server before this update.
If I create a file using any program or create/delete a folder on the share works fine, but I cannot copy files. The error occurs at the end of the copy, not a the beginning....
Anyone has had this problem? My best guess is something is not right with this latest patch.

    Hi,
I have noticed the error occurs when I copy files from my Mac to any samba server (I run OpenSuSE on a Phenom-X4 and Ubuntu PPC on an old iBook-G3). However when I copy to a file share on a PC running Windows Server 2003 I do not get any file copy problems.
Reading and executing files from mounted samba shares or windows shares did not seem to have any issues.
For the moment I have relegated myself to copying files to a Windows OS running on a virtual machine in my Phenom-X4 and then logging into the VM and copying the files a second time to the samba share but I would appreciate anyone posting further on this issue. Because of my experiences I believe the issue is an incompatibility with the Samba servers after upgrading to 10.6.3.
