Who can reccomend a good Flash decompiler?

I'm looking for a Flash decompiler and I was hoping for a
recomendation.
I work in an organization where we frequently have to update
Flash files
that were built several months or more in the past.
Unfortunately, the
organization system hasn't maintained the FLAs in any
particular spot (until
recently), so the old ones can be very difficult to locate.
Sometimes
impossible. The SWFs, however, are generally much easier to
find.
I'm under the impression that a decompiler will help us
convert these SWFs
back into FLAs so they can be edited and updated. Yes? If so,
which ones
work the best. And why, if you care to share that info.

A good Flash E Commerce solution for AS2 and 3.0

I have a client who will want an e commerce area for his site. Does anyone recommend a good Flash based program out there that will allow you to constuct an e commerce solution in both AS 2 or 3 . I know that is a lot to ask for but at this point I really need something that will not break my budget, I can use easily multiple times with different looks .

Flash Decompiler protection?

Hello,
I've just been learning about Flash decompiler's and was
wondering what kind of encryption protection is available in Flash
8 professional. If none, will there be something in the next
version that will protect decompiler programs from ripping the raw
source files from my flash work?

I don't know how many applications today are compiled to
machine code,
but regardless, machine code can indeed be converted to
assembly, assembly
to C, and so on. I'm not suggesting any of this is easy!
I agree with your assertion that compiled apps in Java,
.NET, Flash, and
the like, are easier to reverse engineer than machine
language software,
perhaps by an order of magnitude. But with enough effort,
even the sorts of
apps you speak of can be decompiled.
Of course, mere assertions -- by either of us -- don't prove
anything.
I'm not well versed enough to point to proofs of my

the original question relates to Flash, it's moot in any

How can I convert a flash object on a webpage to a fla file?

I made a flash effect for my friend's site and he won't let me get the flash back after a fight. I can see the effect on the homepage of his website. Is there any way I can get the flash to an fla file on my computer? Is there any way I can find the swf file on his websites system and convert it to an fla? Please help, thanks.

Open the web page where this swf is placed then go for the source code by right clicking on page anywhere. Then find the name of the swf file like if the name is myFlash.swf then search it but if you do not know the name then just search .swf you will get the file path on your friend's web. like it would be yourFriendWeb.com/flash/flashFile.swf or what ever is the name. Then copy the link and paste on your web browser and when the swf is opened then save it by going to File menu.
Now you have the swf file on your PC. Now the task is to convert it to fla. This thing can be done by a flash decompiler like Flash Decompiler Trillix. Decompiling will end up with your orignal fla file.

Another user who can't use an Apple TV

After much anticipation I managed to get my hands on an Apple TV 2 days ago. Unfortunately, I seemed to have joined the club of folks who can't seem to get their Apple TVs up and running (see elsewhere on this forum, e.g. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12471381). The story goes like this...
1. Apple TV connects to my wifi, but then sits on the "Waiting for network services..." screen with pin wheel indefinitely (I waited for over 6 hours, periodically knocking the screensaver off, making sure it didn't go to sleep).
2. Pressing the menu button while it was failing to connect would take me to the main menu. Movie thumbnails were visible and I could watch previews. Couldn't connect to youtube but I could connect to my MobileMe gallery.
3. Couldn't activate home sharing as it claimed my iTunes Store username/password were invalid. This isn't the case as the same username/password combination work fine on my other machines (an iMac, two MacBooks and an iPhone). To be double sure I updated my account details to have a password with more than 8 characters including a number and a combination of uppercase/lowercase) and checked my c/card details were up to date. Still no joy. So, I can't connect to my iTunes library to watch video or listen to audio (making the ATV a bit pointless).
4. Having read all the discussion of this on the forums (and the Apple trouble shooting guides) I've tried the following
- making sure all ports are open on my router (especially the relevant ports for NTP etc)
- checking the network traffic was OK (all my devices are able to get network time OK, use Home Sharing withing the LAN, connect to the iTunes store etc)
- Updating to iTunes 10.0.1
- Turning off/on home sharing on my iMac
- Restarting my machines
- Restarting my router
- pulling my hair out
5. I called apple support who were useless. This was a real blow. In the past, I've always found Apple support to be brilliant, but today the guy I spoke to couldn't get me off the phone fast enough. All he wanted to do was email me a link to the support page, even though I had already told him that I had spent two days working through these!!! Totally useless. This is a real shame since the support was one of the reasons to choose Apple. If I wan't bad service, I'd have bought a Dell.
6. I returned the ATV to the Apple Store. Unfortunately, they were unable/unwilling to test it in the store but offered me an exchange or a refund. In the end I left with a new unit. Unfortunately this has not solved the problem - exactly the same result with the new unit.
So where am I left? Two units won't work in my home, so it's unlikely to be a faulty unit. I tried my router wide open (allowing all incoming/outgoign traffic) so I don't see that being the problem. My ISP (Plusnet in the UK) clearly isn't blocking the required ports as my other machines (using the same Netgear DGN2000 ADSL wireless router) seem to be able to use these ports/services just fine.
I can see that some would take the above as evidence that my network is to blame. However, all the tests I can do suggest that my network and router are working perfectly well and that the ATV should also work. At the end of the day, if I went and bought an airport extreme (which costs 150% of the cost of the ATV) I'd still have to connect to my ISP though my router since the airport extreme isn't an ADSL router. Frankly, I resent having to buy new routers just to test to see if the ATV will work. The kit I have meets the industry standards to the ATV should work!!
The replacement ATV is going back to the store for a refund this week, unless anyone has a useful suggestion?

Yes and no. As I understand it, Home Sharing verification is via the iTunes store, and my account wont verify, so there are still some WAN issues. "Partially connected" seems to be the right word!

I've made sure I'm using the correct username/password combination for my iTunes account (this is different from my MobileMe account). I've also made sure that my password conforms to the requested standard (min 8 chars, at least 1 numeric, at least 1 uppercase, at least 1 lowercase, no spaces). Can't install adobe flash player on macbook pro

Can't install adobe flash player on macbook pro. Installation file automatically runs through Matlab as a default program. What to do?

I have this version installed on my MacBook Pro. 3.3.7.0 (3.3.7.0) I am using Lion OS X 10.8.4.
I have followed the instructions from the Adobe site, The installation process completes. I click "FInish"
I get taken to the Adobe website, http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/completion/aih/?exitcode=0&type=install where I am told the installation is complete.
I restart the computere just in case, go to YOuTube and blam. You need the latest version of Flash Player error shows up again to complete my frustrating loop.
Under Applications on my Hard Drive, I have: AdobeFlashPlayerInstaller_11_ltrosxd_aaa_aih.dmg
When I look at my downloads folder, I find Wccb63Gg.dmg.part
I don't know what to do. I don't seem to have the same file name as others on this site for the download. and I can't find it anywhere.

How can I include Adobe Flash in a client installion?

I am currently considering adding Flash components to a downloadable client I have on my website.
As the downloadable client has always been C++ based, and will now require Adobe Flash Player as a prerequisite, I would like to know what my options are for users who do not have Adobe Flash Player installed on their PCs.
Is there a way I can include the Flash installation for these users as part of the client installation?
Naturally, I would like the process of installing the Adobe Flash Player to be streamlined with my client’s installation, as not to impede the client installation.

Can you find adobe flash player 11.5.502.55?

I have a power pc and 10.5.8 i find a discussion about a flash player on 11.5.502.55, but i couldn't find it. Now the 10.102.64 now the flash player not working it goes 50% but never finish installation. So i'm going to a older version on google to download the flash player 90280. otherwise can you find it 11.5.502.55, all i find out was youtube and i needed a latest flash player.

At some point I'd posted some method for patching a Flash player so it would appear as 11.5.502... and thought to try & find it among previous discussions; and for some reason I could only go back 500 discussions. So I did not find that post.
Given the Flash player is essentially obsolete for the outdated OS X version(s) the patch is a way to allow some sites and some content to load in a browser that otherwise may not. However because it is not improved regularly, there is content that probably won't work even if you use the patch and run a later version.
The instructions are in a read-me richtext file in the patch folder; the Plugin update is included and you swap out the older plugin with a newer 11.5.xx included in the download file. It seems to do OK and my older Macs can use it. (Even my early Intel-based MacBook with Leopard 10.5.8 has a patch, since it hasn't a current Flash either.) See their 'read first' file to see what you need to do to get the patch to work. Save the old part in another folder so you could revert it. And test the Flash player version after the patch update. This does not use a regular installer; you re-use part of the existing Flash player

Given the moving-target nature of the internet web page content, browser and OS
technology update or change, and obsoletism of various products, you cannot
expect these items to last; you will have to upgrade the system at some point, and
because the hardware limits you in PowerPC (and other) a newer computer device
is another prospect if you require an online presence and need Flash player plugins.
You could try other web browsers, re: iCab http://www.icab.de/dl.php (runs Demo)
