Hi Martin,
I tested this issue here and had no problems running my application on Windows 2000.
My application displays random numbers on a graph. Do you use any fuction that uses some Windows functionality e.g. .Net and system assemblies?
I'm using Win 2000 with SP 4
Kind regards
Carsten

    Can anyone share with me his experience about ld.so.1?? What is it and why does it cause my apps server to reboot?

    It looks like you might simply have run out of memory. It just looks like the JRE tried to adjust its memory map and run out space. When mprotect fails the problem probably isn't with the .so itself.
    What are the memory characteristics of your machine? Including the heap and stack space that you allocate for your JVM, as well as the actual physical and swap space available on the server.

  • Can an image of Windows 2000 using NI-VXI 3.5 with a PXI-MXI controller be fielded for multiple computers using sysprep?

    I am trying to field an image of Windows 2000 using NI-VXI 3.5 with a PXI-MXI controller.  Can I set the system up to retain to original settings for VXI?  Some of my computers use a PCI-MXI controller.  Although Windows always finds the MXI controller, the original VXI System 0 is not used.  I have several VME instruments set up and the target is about 85 different computers.  Also the NI-GPIB interface does not show in MAX.  Is this supposed to work?

    Hello,
    Here's an update regarding the gpib error. There has been a Corrective Action Request (CAR) ID:3BI8A578, filed due to a similar issue of error gpibpnp.exe with NI-488.2 v2.2 on Windows 2000 and Sysprep. This issue's workaround involved going back to install NI-488.2 v2.1 or installing the v2.3 release in order to eliminate the problem. Currently, NI-488.2 v2.3 is no longer available for download, however, all operating systems and hardware supported by NI-488.2 v2.3 are also supported by NI-488.2 v2.4 (see link 1).

  • Installing Oracle 10.2.0.1 and upgrade to 10.2.0.3 on WIndows 2000 using VM

    What's up with trying to install Oracle 10.2.0.1 database standard edition on a Windows 2000 OS which utilizes VMWARE? This has been the install from hell !!
    I just did the whole process on my Windows XP laptop in about 1 hour and the VMWARE Windows 2000 install/upgrade is on its third day and we have not even migrated the data yet.
    Has anyone done such an upgrade on the same Windows 2000 OS using VMWARE? The server configuration sucks as well with only one CPU, small processor and and little over 1 gb of memory but this is what VMWARE is allocating I assume. The customer also wants all his database files on the SAN. Should I tell the management they need more resources or is this upgrade possible????

    Not if it isn't required to create a secure and stable environment.
    What I am referring to is an operating system that doesn't require an anti-virus client.
    And operating system that doesn't force you to support a massive GUI that no one will ever look at after installation is completed.
    An operating system that doesn't have a vendor that admits to violating compliance and altering system files without the owner's permission.

  • Install windows 2000 using bootcamp 2.0??

    is it possible?
    i already found out the hard way that you need win xp sp2 or greater to install (i tried win xp without sp2 and it wiped out my hd)

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
    Windows 2000 is not supported to be installed on Mac with BootCamp.
    Simply said, it is too old and lacks some neede features for a succesfull install.
    You can however use your pre-SP2 Xp and this instructions http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxpsp2slipstream.asp to make yourself a XP SP2 install CD.
    Or if you really need Windows 200 to run, have a look at the virtualization apps like Parallels, VMWare Fusion or VirtualBox.
    VirtualBox is the only free app of these, the other two cost some cash.
    Hope it helps

  • Install Media for Windows 2000 using MSI

    Does Oracle have install media for client installs which uses MSI (Windows 2000 Installation Technology)?
    I want to be able to push out installs/upgrades of Oracle client software to Windows 2000 desktops (where some people may or may not have administrative rights on their desktops).

    Windows 2000 is not supported, officially reaching the end of it's life in June 2010.
    We would recommend that you upgrade to an actively supported version of the Windows operating system.
    The minimum system requirements for Flash Player can be found here: http://www.adobe.com/in/products/flashplayer/tech-specs.html
    As a short-term fix, you may be able to run a version of Flash Player 10.3 from the Archives page, which is currently supported with security updates; however, your operating system remains vulnerable as it is no longer maintained from a security perspective.

  • My microphone seems to not be working, who had this and got it fixed

    What has apple done to help.

    Well, that's a starting point, not good news, but a starting point anyway.
    Is there something blocking the mic opening that you can see? Maybe take a soft cloth and wipe the opening and see if that helps. Blow on it maybe?

  • Has anyone else had this iPod problem?

    My parents got me an 80 gb iPod Classic for Christmas in 2007. In April or May I noticed that my middle button seemed loser than usual, but it still worked, so I didn't think much of it. Then at the very end of May, my button got stuck. I sent it in to the service center on June 1, and got it back on June 12. I played with it the night I got it back, and then again on June 20. The last time I played with it, I was playing Solitare; I didn't even get through a whole game before my middle button was stuck AGAIN.I have a classmate who had this problem, and I was wondering if anyone else had.

    No one has had this issue? I go to Itunes store.  Open a music file to download and it will gives me the opprotunity to buy every song but the album and songs that go with the album only.  HELP

  • Installing Oracle8i on WIndows 2000

    I am currently trying to install Oracle8i (8.1.7) on windows 2000 professional. Everytime I run setup the egg timer comes on and nothing happens. Anyone have any ideas?

    Success at last! I'm installing Oracle 8.1.7 on a p4 running win 2k as I type this. I downloaded the java sdk 1.3.0 from java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/install-windows.html and installed it. Then I located the symcjit.dll in my Oralce installation folders (on my hard drive) and renamed it. Then ran the installer and voila! it worked.

    I'm having the same problem on windows 2000 running on a pentium 4. Apparently the file symcjit.dll is used to identify the processor does not do so on a P4. The version of thes file should be 3.10.107 or higher. Dell suggested I install the java runtime environment v 1.3.0 and this may correct thr problem. I did so but no luck. I did a search for this file and the only one I found was in the Oracle installation folder.

  • Windows 2000 Authentication

    Hi. I've tested the sample JAAS authentication code below and it works. I have two questions: 1) How do I modify this to authenticate a Windows 2000 user and 2) how do I get it to run as a Java Servlet? Thanks for any suggestions.
    Using:
    java -Djava.security.auth.login.config==jaas.config JAASSampleApp testuser sasquatch
    jaas.config:
    Sample {
    PasswordLoginModule required;
    import javax.security.auth.*;
    import javax.security.auth.login.*;
    import java.security.*;
    public class JAASSampleApp extends Object {
         public static void main(String[] args)
         throws Exception {
              if (args.length != 2) {
                   System.err.println
                        ("Usage: java JAASSampleApp username password");
                   System.exit(1);
              String username = args[0];
              char[] password = args[1].toCharArray();
              LoginContext loginContext = new LoginContext(
                   "Sample", new UsernamePasswordCallbackHandler
                        (username, password));
              loginContext.login();
              // Now we're logged in, so we can get the current subject.
              Subject subject = loginContext.getSubject();
              // Display the subject
              System.out.println(subject);

    User Authentification in servlets has 2 purposes:
    1) You want to be shure that the incoming user is a "true" one (user-password verification)
    2) You want to use the user's object authorities inside of your servlet.
    So, if you want to do the user-password verification, you have to do it youself - you have to write some JAVA class with a native method (the DLL, that was menthioned in Reply from nort_de). Inside of this DLL you have to do the user-password verification, for example, throw the LogonUser function from Windows SDK. You can do it without any using of JAAS.
    If you want to use the user's object authorities inside of your JAVA code, you have to use JAAS.

  • Transfer my iTunes music library from a Mac (10.4) to a PC (Windows 2000)

    Can I transfer my iTunes music library from a Mac (10.4) to a PC (Windows 2000) using a 5-gig jump drive (Sony)?

    I might suggest opening up the jump drive (or My Documents if you still have all your music there), then opening the iTunes folder, then the iTunes Music folder, then selecting all the folders in there and dragging them into iTunes while its open and on your Library playlist. This should tell iTunes to rebuild its iTunes Library.itl file and all the files should appear in your library then. This doesn't make duplicate copies of anything - or at least it didn't on my laptop.
    Problem with that is that I think you lose all your playlists, which you might not want. But if losing playlists is acceptable, then I think that will work for you.
    Daniel.

  • Executing notepad in jsp (WIndows 2000)

    Hey,
    I've been playing around with the Runtime API and have run into problem. I want to eventually run a C program through a JSP page, but I can't even get notepad to open successfully. Below is the entire test code that is supposed to open notepad. When I open this JSP page in Windows 2000, nothing happens. The GUI for notepad is never opened. However, I checked the task manager and there is an instance of notepad there, and when I try to end the process it gives me an error saying that access is denied. I wrote a simple java program with similar code, and I am able to successfully open notepad through it. I can't see what I'm doing wrong here. Anyone else have this problem on Windows 2000? Thanks.

    I've finally determined the cause of all my troubles. It turns out that if Tomcat is running as a service on Windows 2000, it can't access the console and as a result it can't call external programs. I turned off the service temporarily and started up the stand-alone Tomcat application and my JSP pages work without a hitch. Unfortunately, I think they'll want to keep Tomcat as a service, so I haven't completely solved all of my problems. So does anyone know of a way to execute external programs using Runtime.exec() while running Tomcat as a service? Thanks.
