Who is responsible for Excel 2008 display problems?

I have Office 2008 installed on MacBook Pro 15" with an Apple Cinema display attached. The display is set to non-mirrored mode. When I invoke Excel and move it to the larger display I cannot position it to the top of the Cinema display. It will not move higher than the level of top of the the power book display as shown in the System Preferences ->Displays control panel.
If I move the PB display position higher with respect to the Cinema display then Excel will also display higher on the Cinema display.
Who takes ownership of this? Apple or Microsoft?

It sure sounds like an Excel problem. Office 2008 is really a 1.0 release by some new programmers. The core functionality works really well but it is a little rough around the edges.
I don't know of an official way to report bugs. There is a feedback link in the Help menu. I have heard of some people getting results from that.

  • Who's responsible for in App Ads?

    What hapened?
Had today a bad experience with an AppStore App (faceGoo lite). My kids used it in the last days and if you tip backwards in the right top corner you can accidently tip on the add a $$$ number, which dials instantly without any further question. Never heard about the possibility of this "trojan" use on iOS.
    Is this function really
Had read about errors/ problems with inApp buys so this is all disabled (no pw saved on the iOS devices). But i'm really shoked that kind of this function is possible on iOS. Apple should ad a policy like "can app xyz access to the dial function".
This kind of numbers are blocked now o all our devices.
We discussed in the company i work for how to deal with Google Store as we ramp out a big amount of Galaxies. For the existing iOS devices we need to rethink also if Apple AppStore can be used as a trusted store. Up to now it's defined as a trusted store where Google play will be menaged with a blacklist.
I like to sue the company resonsible for this, because it's a 4+ App and my kids can't read/ can't read ENG. I only talk about a couple of $ no big amount. But in this occation it's a question how this guys got the money. So i'll make a "pysical" extraction with cellebrite UFED touch tomorrow to save evidence and handle it over.
Can anyone tellme how to find who's responsible for the in app adds of given app? As I've access to the plist stuff (via cellebrite) on the phone i can check all flags and settings.

I made a note to apple in the app store. How to find the address of a publisher in app store? The website of the developer is registered through godaddy and than hidden again with an other publisher in the godaddy Whois information. At trace shows that the website I hosted by Amazon.
I found one person (co founder) but having no address to contact him. Is there a company register in the US to find the address of the company?
But to come back to the problem. Apple should redefine the policy using in app content/ ads by the developer. The content should be usefull and understandable by the audience the app is made for. And a $$$ dialer link is not 4+ level. And this dialer was not in the initial release.

  • HP desktop computer can not play Blu-ray DVDs. Who is responsible for this?

In 2010, I blought an HP Pavilion Elite HPE 250-f desktop computer (running Windows 7). This computer was advertised as having a Blu-ray DVD player, as well as players for regular DVDs and CDs. All these years, I've been successfully playing regular DVDs and CDs. Until now, I have not attempted to play a Blu-ray DVD.
I recently rented the "Divergent" Blu-ray DVD (as well as the "Divergent" regular DVD) from my local library. When I tried to play the Blu-ray DVD, the HP MediaSmart software and the Windows Media Player detected the Blu-ray but were not able to play the Blu-ray.
I then downloaded the Media Player Codec Pack, http://download.cnet.com/Media-Player-Codec-Pack/3000-13632_4-10749065.html    This Codec Pack was supposed to help Windows Media Player play the Blu-ray. That did not work. When I got rid of the Codec Pack using System Restore, HP MediaSmart and Windows Media Player became unable to detect the Blu-ray in the Blu-ray drive. After another System Restore, HP MediaSmart and Windows Media Player were once again able to detect the Blu-ray (but were still unable to play the Blu-ray).
I then downloaded Cyberlink PowerDVD 14, which played the Blu-ray for only about 7 seconds before crashing. I then got rid of Cyberlink PowerDVD 14 with a System Restore.
I downloaded TotalMedia Theatre version 6.0.1.123. However, this software did not detect the Blu-ray. I then got rid of TotalMedia Theatre with a System Restore. After that, I was not able to play ANYTHING, including CDs and regular DVDs. CDs and regular DVDs were not being detected by playing software. After another System Restore, I was once again able to play CDs and regular DVDs. However, I do not want to risk trying to play the Blu-ray again.
So, what's going on here? HP advertised this computer as having a Blu-ray DVD player. Wasn't HP responsible for providing software that could play Blu-ray DVDs? And why is the Blu-ray DVD, sometimes detected, and sometimes not detected, by playing software? Is there some kind of hardware issue?
Who is responsible for the fact that my computer can not play Blu-ray DVDs? HP, for bad playing software and/or bad hardware? Or is there something in the Windows 7 operating system that prevents the playing of Blu-ray DVDs? Is Microsoft responsible?
    Thanks for any information.

You're not going to get any help from HP or Microsoft on a 4 year old computer.   Maybe your optical drive is no longer able to play Bluray discs.  Windows 7 Media Center with Bluray playback was not included in all versions of Windows 7.  Each computer with Bluray has an individual license; yours may have expired after not using it for 4 years.  Best advice - don't flog a dead horse.  Just get regular DVDs.

  • Who is responsible for integration of the different function modules?

    Hi All,
Please tell me who would do rather who is responsible for doing the following kinds of integrations SD-MM-FICO, SD-MM, SD-FICO and so on? What would be the role of ABAPers in these kind of integrations?
    Regards,
    MD

    Hi MD,
The functional team (from each module that is implemented) from the Implementation team along with the CORE team from the client end, together are responsible for carrying out the integration (testing).
Any defects identified are to be fixed by the implementation team consultants. ABAP consultants are required to carry out any investigation/debugging required to fix the issues identified (if they are ABAP code related).
    Hope this clarifies.
    Best Regards,
    Shyam

  • Excel 2008 Number Problems OS 10.7.5

I have suddenly developed a problem in my Excel worksheets. I cannot get a plain number to show. If I format the cell for either number or general, I get the currency format. Every number has a .00 in it or is rounded off to the numbers before the dot. The one workaround I have found is to enter the number as text, then to convert it to number using the drop down menu in the cell. But that's very tedious to say the least. Anyone else have a problem with this?
I'm working with Excel 2008 with most recent updates and running OS 10.7.5
    Thanks

  • MacPro(Leopard10.5.5)+ATI HD2600 : Bad combination. Who is responsible for

    (Sorry for my poor english)
My MacPro(early2008 2.8G) has ATI HD2600 Graphic card.
When I connect dual monitors(2x Eizo L465), the main display(DVI-1) is garbled like this.
    http://web.mac.com/leesangmok/display.mov
I thought that is a screen Refresh problem.
When I change to 60Khz to 59Khz(this is not standard way) it seem to be corrected, but If I change the monitor setting, Same problem occur.(refresh rate 59Khz Setting is return to 60khz)
I explained this problem to Apple Center, They said they are not responsible for the monitor(not cinema dislplay)
Are not they really responsible for this bad combination(MacPro+ATI HD2600)?
    Should I change my monitor?

I have a Mac Pro 2.8Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with the same card using a Eizo ColorEdge CE 240W monitor and when I do to Display Preferences it shows up as VGA Display...
In system profile under graphics/display is show the ATI HD2600 card and under display is show's VGA display...
I THINK is should be telling me I have a EIZO monitor or something to that effect. I have it connected by DVI to DVI.
Any one have a clue what is wrong or how to fix this issue?
I have tried everything possible except swap cards.
Thanks for your ideas or solutions to this matter...
Does anyone else see VGA display under display preferences?
It should be showing the monitor connected, I heard that a chip on the card should be reading the info from the monitor to the card and the system should show the monitor attached?

  • Who is responsible for permanent repair of a downe...

A few months ago I had a semi-frantic call from my wife saying our phones were dead and the cable was on the ground.  So I called our provided (Sky) and they needed me home in order to verify that it was nothing internal - so I made my way home.
As I drove along the road outside our front door I could see the cable lying in the field next to the road, just outside our front door - it had been severed and had dropped from the telephone poles.  Sky of course wanted me to still do some checks inside the house... and biting my tongue I duly obliged.
Sky's customer service was great and they listed it as a fault with BT - and said I should also report the cable as dangerous.  Since it was lying on the edge of the road, partly in a farmer's field, I did so and was duly given a reference for the issue.  Two days later a BT guy turned up and repaired the cable on the ground - linking the severed ends via another length of cable (and two junction boxes).  Of course, it was still lying on the edge of the field.  He said about 10 days later someone should come along and fix it properly (presumably meaning putting it back onto the poles).
A few days later a neighbour came along with photos and description of the lorry that had damaged the cable - as he'd witnessed it.  We'd kind of assumed the farmer had been involved, but now had photographic proof (cable dangling from lorry cab!) of who did it.  I rang up the BT line and gave this information, which they were thankful for.
Roughly 6 weeks later I rang up BT again (their 'dangerous cables' line) and asked what was going on.  This is where things got weird.  I confimed that my line was working and that the cable was no longer dangerous.  But of course the cable wasn't fixed.  That's not BT's job, apparently - or at least not the job of the BT department I was speaking to.  They'd done their bit in making it safe.  They even said to ring Sky - but I pointed out that since my line was working fine they wouldn't do anything.  The lady on the line admitted it was a weird situation to be in - how to escalate the problem, to get it properly fixed?  She had no clue - but offered to get another BT guy out to check it (giving me another reference number).  The BT guy may have come along - but that was weeks ago, and no proper repair has occured since.
You see, the famer accesses the field by driving from the road to the field, as most farmers do, and will inevitably drive a big tractor across the line - and most likely damaging it again.  We've told the famer about the cable, but the cable is now submerged in crops growing around it, so I doubt he can avoid it.
WHO can I contact to escalate this non-faulty but incorrectly-located cable?  There appears to be no-one.  The fault-reporting system appears to be grey-area for cases like this, where my line is not faulty, but would quite literally prefer a pole-line than a land-line.

If you reported your line out of order to Sky and reported a dangerous cable to Openreach (something a concerned passing member of the public could have done ) , then were 2 reports in the system ?, and the engineer who turned up , which one was he working on ?, or were both tied together ?, you need to ask Sky about the fault you raised with them, did they even raise one ?, if they did what was the 'clear code'
The engineer has done a temporary fix , but more of a concern would be why the repair was done that way, overhead cables have standards to be adhered to, and are probably adhered to more these health and safety conscious days than in the past, like hight above the road, and where high sided vehicles may pass under, the hight above increases, so it's possible that's why the wire wasn't replaced like for like, or it could be the poles are deemed 'D' , dangerous to climb, again this would explain not putting up a wire exactly as it was previously.
If it's a temporary fix then presumably at some point more work will be done, but a doubt any timescale would be provided, if it's the permanent fix, then I doubt you can do anything other than expect the line to be damaged again in the future
As others have said though, as you are not a BT Retail customer, then this isn't really the appropriate forum , as you use Sky it's them , and you seem quite happy so far with their response , you need to speak to, but don't accept any 'it's not us it's BT,' because it isn't, if it's Openreach, you cannot speak to them , you need to get Sky to do that for you

  • Entourage for Mac 2008 continuing problems

I really thought I had this problem licked when I found a 10-year old post here with info that solved my receiving mail on Entourage problem. Alas!  That no longer works. Now, I have to Force Quit the program, restart and cross fingers!  Sometimes it works, and sometimes not.It tries to download hundreds of old emails, or it just hangs and I get an error message of "timed out".  When I send a report to Microsoft, it's full of technical stuff of no meaning to me. Question:  Since I have all my files (dozens!) of many years in Entourage, what email program can I use with my Mac Pro?  I really should change since I'm reading email on ComCast.net now. I'm on ComCast cable for receiving whatever Internet access I have here at the house.Ideally, my new program could import files from Entourage, but is that feasible?Obviously, I'm just a user, not a techie. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks, but I'm not able to find it.  Have asked Apple how to access Apple Mail, and will hope for the best.

  • Creating a Save As dialog box with Applescript for Excel 2008

This is going to be part of a larger script. I'm trying to figure out how to make the default save location to where the file opened from and the default file name to the current filename in the dialog box.
Here is what I go so far...
    tell application "Microsoft Excel"
    tell active workbook
set myFile to choose file name with prompt "Save file as:"
    end tell
    end tell
I'm very new with working with Applescript, so at this point I have been piecing together code snippets.
Any help would be great and thank you

The choose file name command supports a default location parameter that tells it where to open the dialog:
set myFile to choose file name with prompt "Save file as:" default location (alias "Macintosh HD:Users:username:foldername:")
So you need to look at the Excel dictionary to determine the path to the current file and insert it into the script. Every version of Excel has slightly different dictionaries so the version you're running is critical to getting the right syntax.

Why is Verizon so far behind in firmware?  There are several apps we cannot run.  Had I known Verizon customers would be treated as second class citizens, I would have switched carriers or avoided the iPhone.

I don't use a CDMA phone but I know they at least have 4.2.9.  There might even be something higher than that.

  • Problems pasting from Excel 2008 to Numbers

I'm trying to make the switch from Excel to numbers and ran into the following problem.
If I cut a group of cells from Excel 2008 and try paste it into Numbers it does not work.
I can paste into another place in Excel, Stickies or OpenOffice, but not Numbers.
I can double click a cell in Numbers and paste all the copied into a single cell, but this is not what I want.
Is this a Numbers problem or Excel 2008. Since I can paste from Excel to programs other than Numbers, it seems like a Numbers problem
    Anyone else have this problem.
    Cheers!

Very weird! I don't think your table is too simple.
I tried a simple table and it failed.
In fact I can copy the table from Numbers and paste it into Excel 2008
But when I copy the same table from Excel and try to paste into Numbers, it fails.
I can however paste into stickies.
    *Copy from Numbers*
*Paste into Excel 2008- No Problem*
    *Copy from Excel 2008*
    *Paste into Numbers - nothing!*
*Paste into a singe cell - Fine*
    *Paste into Stickies - Fine*
