Who is the administrator of the Mozilla Firefox Facebook Page?
I was wondering who is posting and coordinating the Mozilla Firefox Facebook Page? Would have some questions. Thanks a lot!
Hello,
Have you tried to give feedback VIA the following link:

That would be the best way to send your questions.

I like the Mozilla Firefox Start Page and I do find Google fairly useful (albeit that I have dumped Chrome for Firefox due to Google's constant badgering to sign-up to their social network "circles" etc) - but my gripe is that I am redirected to google.fr NOT google.co.uk (my 1st preference) or google.com (2nd preference). Yes, I am located in France. No, I am not French and most of the information I am looking for is contained on UK or US web pages. I found the same problem with the provided Google search engine in the top right bar, so removed it in favour of Yahoo (which I am not a fan of either!). Any advice would be gratefully received. Thx.
Many thanks for the prompt reply, ideato.
One of the reasons I abandoned Chrome in favour of Firefox was due to the "black band of doom" that appears on the top of the Google page - so setting up my homepage to google.co.uk just puts that back in the ugly spotlight.
I was, though, pleasantly surprised to see a Google search bar on the Mozilla Firefox Start Page (without the black band and Google options that I am just not interested in) but bitterly disappointed that it is Google.fr (due to my ISP being French).
I shall learn to live with Yahoo (or worse case scenario, Bing!)

Just installed Firefox on my second Windows machine (running XP Home). Unlike my other installation, every time I start Firefox I get TWO tabs - my home page AND a "Mozilla Firefox Start Page" that contains only a Google search input. I don't need the useless start page, but haven't found anything that tells me how to stop it from loading.
Try This works good for those who aren't computer tech savvy like me
Type about:config in the address bar
Click I'll be careful, I promise if prompted
In the Filter input field type startup
Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
Delete the text string and click OK
Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.
Hopefully this helps!
I just tried this myself and it totally worked for me Good Luck -
In the afternoon of August 24 I lost a feature on my Mozilla Firefox Start Page and I cannot figure out how to get it back. It concerns the Google Search area in the MIDDLE of the page. Previously, when I would want to do a search, for example Amazon, I would type the letter 'A' and, because I had typed 'Amazon' in that Search box before, an alphabetical drop-down menu would come up with 'Amazon' in it. I could then click on that word without having to type the rest of it. That option is no longer working.
I had done an Adobe Reader update that Friday morning, so I thought that might be why this happened,. I did a System Restore and took the system back to Tuesday, August 21. That did not help.
I ran CCleaner and cleaned the Registry also. Interestingly enough, I found that right after I do that and then open a Mozilla Firefox Start Page, the alphabetical drop down function is back in the center Search bar for one time, one search. After that it is gone again. I go in and do just CCleaner (no Registry cleaning required) and the same thing happens...the functionality is there for one search only.
I went in and made sure all my Add-ons/Plug-ins are up to date. I also ran a full system scan but no issues came up.
I am computer illiterate, so please bear with me. I have no idea if any of the things I tried would have helped or not.
I have Windows 7 and Firefox 15.0.1
I appreciate any help you can provide.See also:

The "Use custom settings for history" setting allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting that setting doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings.<br />
Firefox shows the "Use custom settings for history" setting as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.<br />
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".<br /> -
How can I remove the Mozilla Firefox Start Page?
When I start Firefox two tabs open up. One is my start page, the other is Mozilla Firefox Start Page. How can I set Firefox to NOT open the second tab?

I'm not asking how to set my homepage to about:home. I'm asking for the actual URL. Thanks.
The http://www.google.com/firefox used to be the old Firefox start page for 3.6.* and earlier and has not been maintained by Google ever since Firefox 4.0 came out as to why this start page may have the "You're not on the latest version of Firefox" message at times.
The default homepage ever since Firefox 4.0 has been '''about:home''' -
For the past month, every time I open Firefox, the Mozilla Start Page (with Google in the middle) takes over my home page setting (NY Times). How can I stop this from happening?
To the extent that I could, I tried the above, despite the lack of clarity at times. For example, how do the uninitiated find "sessionstore.js" and "sessionstore.bak" and the Firefox profile folder? Assuming that I eventually find them, what in the world does "check for problems" mean?
There are many of us out here with limited to moderate computer sophistication, and more detailed suggestions would be much appreciated. I am in the moderate to high category, but much of your response was marginally useful, to be kind. Not to say that I don't appreciate what you have written. -
Where is the file that creates the mozilla firefox start page found?
I like the Firefox start page but want to tweak it a bit. Where can I gain access to the file? I am using Firefox 29.0.1
ThanksIn the omni.ja file in Firefox Program Files. Open '''about:home''' then right-click and select View Page Source. The path to the aboutHome.xhtml file is in the titlebar. <br />
The problem with editing that file is that every 6 weeks when Firefox is updated you'll probably have to edit that file all over again.
What specifically do you want to tweak? <br />
Additions or changes can usually be accomplished thru a userContent.css file, for most things. <br />
http://kb.mozillazine.org/UserContent.css
For instance - hide the "snippet" and hide the "bar" at the bottom with Downloads, Bookmarks, etc :
<pre><nowiki>@-moz-document url(about:home) {
#snippetContainer { display:none !important; }
@-moz-document url(about:home){
#launcher { display: none !important; }
</nowiki></pre> -
I always liked the standard google start page for firefox, but with this new 4.0 there's an ugly add box below the search bar, nagging about "learn about all the cool things" or something named "Spark" or all sorts of other spam.
So is there a way to remove that, or do I really have to change my start page to the normal boring www.google.com ?Add code to [http://kb.mozillazine.org/userContent.css userContent.css]
<pre><nowiki>@-moz-document url("about:home") {
#contentContainer { display:none!important; }
}</nowiki></pre>

I can type in the search field. Clicking the mouse on the search button or hitting the "Enter" key has no effect. Search from the Firefox address bar or the search window at the top of Firefox browser still works normally. Never encountered this problem before. Have been using Firefox since it first came out.
Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
*https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
Current Firefox versions use the default search engine (pref: browser.search.defaultenginename) to set the search engine that is used on the about:home page.
Check the <b>browser.search.defaultenginename</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page and make sure that it is set to the default value Google.
*browser.search.defaultenginename
Currently selected search engine:
*browser.search.selectedEngine

How do I stop the "Mozilla Firefox Start Page" tabs from opening whenever I select "Home"?
I get multiple instances of this annoying tab opening whenever I select Home, or open a new tab. I have found nothing in Options to turn this off.
You may have set multiple home pages.

I visited a web site that required an upgrade to Microsoft Silverlight.
After installing Silverlight, I see nothing but a white window for any website I visit. I do not know that Silverlight caused this but right after installing is when this problem occurred. I uninstalled Silverlight and re installed Firefox but nothing changes.A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Everything else on the Start Page is properly sized.

have you tried resetting zoom levels by going to ''View'' > ''Zoom'' > Reset?

I'm having problems like a lot of others with Google as it has removed it's 'UK only' button from it's home/search screen. I prefer the Google Mozilla Firefox Start Page as it gives me the options I need. On the Firefox toolbar search box, which drops down to give search engine options, can I link the Mozilla Firefox Start Page to this box? Thankyou.

Whenever I launch Firefox, multiple tabs also start to open along with the Mozilla Firefox Start Page, which is very irritating. How can I stop this to happen each time I launch the browser?
See these articles for some suggestions:
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+has+just+updated+tab+shows+each+time+you+start+Firefox
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page - Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' symbols

It is also possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
* Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).
