Does anyone know...
Who is the ultimate authority on deciding a song's genre?
I ask this because I have discovered that Klezmer is not really an iTunes genre. Sometimes klezmer tunes are shown as "folk" and sometimes they are shown as "world." I assume that it it not anyone at iTunes who made these decisions. Is it someone at big record companies? Do the record stores drive the genre-defining system? Why wouldn't the Klezmatics be defined as Klezmer?

The "ultimate" authority is you.
If the Genre (or anything else) is incorrect, you can change it to what you want.
But Diane is correct in that Gracenote is where the info is from and the labels can add/edit info but anyone is free to add info.
Gracenote does not describe how they decide what is the "correct" info.

HT5557 Why does most of my books on iBooks have no author or genre details?

I moved my ibook library to another hard drive and then re-added to itunes. I then re-synced my ipad and now 90% of my books have no author or genre details. Saying this, I never had genre details for 90% of my books anyway.
Was there a problem with the sync? or is there some special way to add these details?

I did some investigation and that's what it looks like.
Although I did remove all the books from my library and re-added them. the author details came back but 90% still have no genre details. As long as I got the author details, I'm not too worried.

Where can I download the iBooks Author SLA?

Usually I can find a link to download a software SLA before installing the software, particularly important since very often installing the software implies you agree to an agreement you have not yet read since it seems you cannot read it until after it has been installed. Surely that's legally wrong?
Anyhow, as I cannot find where the SLA is, I would appreciate it if someone could please post a link to the full SLA for iBooks Author SLA?

No. It seems I am prevented from signing in to any site other than the Swiss site (because I live in Switzerland, but I don't speak any native languages here).

That's not the full picture, while you can export and give the text away for free as pdfs and other things, I have been shown a piece of the SLA on a PC forum where someone said "I direct you to the EULA for the iBooks Author program. Note section 2B. Distribution of your Work". Of course, I can't see that but have seen another clip from the SLA on Jon Honeyball's Daring Fireball blog quoting another blogger who said this text cannot be sold for money anywhere else. That is the crucial area where the definitions need clearing up because it seems to me that people are glorying in misunderstanding the rules in order to make Apple look bad. It's hard to defend Apple with no ammunition, and the SLA is where the bullets are.

EXPDP tablespace and IMPDP tablespace - who owns the tablespace data?

10.2.0.3 - Windows 2003. Done some googling but not got the answer.
Have been asked by developer to export multiple tablespaces (on one server) into a new database (on another server) but import into just one tablespace.
Unable to use transportable tablespaces because software owner says it doesn't work.
However, developer says can use data-pump in 10g to do this.
Have created the same repository on both databases under the system account and same path name on both servers.
Have used expdp system/password tablespace=(tablespace_name1, tablespace_name2, etc) to create the dmp file and copied it over to the new database server.
Now about to import it into the new database into just one tablespace.
If I export all the multiple tablespaces and then import them into the one tablespace - under the system account - how does Oracle work out who owns the tables in the tablespace?
The tables, themselves, are owned by multiple owners (not all these users are created in the new database as the developer's ultimate idea is that it is only one new schema is created for the multiple tablespace data).
Before doing it I wonder - even though I've specified no schema etc - seems to me that system owns this data and all the data in the tablespace if I do import it successfully using remap tablespace=source: new tablespace.
I saw the system tablespace increase (thought it would but not what is desired, I'm guessing as I can't identify it clearly when looking - so it maybe there unnecessarily forever.
Seems to me I've put stuff into my system tablespace that will be there forever (unless I do something about it) on database1.
But if I impdp to database2 to new tablespace - under the system owner - then it will still be in the system tablespace and still owned by the system schema.
Is this correct thinking?
Should I create the old owners of the schemas in order for the impdp to succeed?
And if correct - is it possible to then allocate those tables in that tablespace to a new schema owner - and is there a way to do it at the time of import or do I have to then do some clever magical guru stuff to change it?

No, I am not trying to create the same database elsewhere.
I am definitely not trying to not create a clone.
I would like to understand that, as I have a dmp file created for multiple tablespaces via expdp - under the system user - as I now want to dmp that file under one user - and can do via impdp - who owns the data - and if I have transferred via system user - is it the system user who owns the data in the tablespace now - or can I transfer it to a new named user?

Can anyone please help me how can i get that who change the trace level in system, in our client lot of people have Sm50, St01, St05,ST12 and other trace transactions, and it become difficult to track down who is changing the traces level

can someone help me how can i know that trace level are changed by which user id at what time

I cannot remember the exact names, but if you take look in those transactions (there are more than the ones you have listed..) then you will see a call to FM TH_CHANGE PARAMETER.
You will see the name of the dynamic profile (and the authority check in it against S_ADMI_FCD action ST0M etc...) there, or some checks performed before the function is called.
Then take a look in transaction TU02 for the history of the parameters...

ps: A popular error exists in transaction SMGW: Wanting to dynamically set the gateway logging via the Expert Functions menu, you might be tempted to increase the "Trace level"... This is the ST11 developer trace!!! Rather choose the Security sub menu and activate the gateway specific log there, otherwise your production system might have some performance problems from the developer trace (which is a different local topic of less interest for gateway security....).

Mystery: Who stole the iPod?

My wife's iPod disappeared. Subsequently when she opened her iTunes library on her laptop, she found that all her tunes - months of saves - had been wiped and replaced by a handful of Gangsta Rap tracks.
A guest in the house, who happened to be a fan of Gangsta Rap, was the most likely suspect in the case of the stolen iPod. However, he claimed at the time that he had planned to use the laptop to load an entirely different iPod with tunes, but that when he connected it, the process somehow automatically deleted everything already there in the existing iTunes library without him being able to do anything about it.
By this time he had allegedly already sold this other iPod, there was no evidence one way or another. And our son, who is the only other iPod user in the house, told us that it was a reasonable explanation, that plugging in a different iPod would or could automatically wipe everything that existed in iTunes before.
So my question is, firstly if you plug a strange iPod into a PC which has an existing library and automatic synching enabled, is it true that the library will be wiped and replaced by whatever is on the current iPod? And secondly, should that be true, is it impossible for the user to prevent this from happening?
For your peace of mind I will add that no serious consequences will attach to any replies, the device is gone and we can't replace it so there's nothing to be done. But it would be good to know the answer in any case, for the future.

In Windows 7 (should be same with XP & Vista), the iTunes needs to be authorized first to allow any iPod/iPhone to connect it.
This is not correct.
You do not even need an iTunes account to use an iPod with iTunes.
If you wish to transfer _iTunes purchases_ from iTunes to the iPod, iTunes must be authorized on that computer. But it would need to be authorized to play those purchases anyway.
Even authorized, iTunes will ask you first if connected with other iPods/iPhones should delete exist contents.
Not sure what this means. If the iPod/iPhone is sync'd with another iTunes library, it will tell you (see above post) and ask if you want to erase what is _on the iPod_ and sync with the current itunes library.
As far as backups, yes, everyone should have a current backup (and update it regularly).
You can back up to CD/DVD with iTunes menu File -> Library -> Back up to disc.

How to find out list user who did the printing

Dear All,
We are using network print server using HP LaserJet 5550 and jetdirect, since our number of users is more than 500 staff in one place, sometimes they do the unresponsible printing such as print full color photos for personal use, print a novel and anything that not related to the business purpose.
Today, our director found out that someone print out a whole story book and spend a lot of paper... he challenge me to find out who is the user who did this? I can log on to the printer web console, but I can't find user log printing...
Any help will be much appreciated.

Replying to my own post - heh. I downloaded iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) which allowed me access to the files on the phone and there was the phantom movie in the DCIM folder. Deleted it, and all is well - although I still have 0.65gb of Other in iTunes.....

You can get the ProjectModifiedDate column in MSP_EPMProject_userView in the Reporting DB where you can
get the data based on the projectUID.
The "last saved" date in the draft DB (be aware that querying in the draft DB is not supported by MS).
For the "last modified by", I think it is not stored in any place.
But you can develop custom code upon publishing the project (Event BeforePublish), writing the current
date and username automatically into a custom enterprise field.
