I commonly post that one can not redistribute stuff from the JDK - only the JRE is distributable.
And I know I have posted that since October.

And no one jumped on my case for giving out wrong information.
So who hasn't been paying attention? Fess up!

I suppose I'm guilty.
Although, I know you (jschell) were in disbelief when I mentioned that Sun had barely a care in world that anyone bundled tools.jar with their app... at least my colleagues at Sun ensured me of this. I suppose I would be hesitant to rely on information from an annonymous source too.
I, personnally, no longer distribute their compiler so the topic hasn't come up lately. It's good to hear they have finally legitimized what was already widely practiced.

7 weeks ago we signed up to eircom with e-fibre broadband, techy came out a couple days later and told us work had to be done on the road because there was no landline in the house. Fair enough , then we were told we had to wait 2 weeks to get permits for the KN networks to put the line in.
We ended up waiting a whole month for someone to come out to start work , we were fed so much bs one of your supervisors had to ring us and apologise for all lies we were told by about 10 different members of staff...a supervisor having to ring a customer and apologise for his staff lying....seriously

Bt not doing their job properly!!!!!!!!!

I am absolutely appalled at the poor level of service I have received since joining BT. From BT cancelling my contract in error, having to wait 2+ months, plus many phone calls, for the line rental refund that was not received in full. AND I had to pay AGAIN for 12 months line rental while we were waiting for the previous to be refunded, before I could start the process again. To them not contacting my previous broadband supplier to stop our contract with them. So I have been billed twice for the same period.
I contacted BT regarding this a couple of months ago and obviously nothing was done about it as today I received a letter from a debt collection service to say the debt ( £19.40 ) has been handed over to them!!! I have paid the bill as it isn't their fault but it has left me very angry that this is another thing I have to chase BT for!!!
Money leaves my account every month and I don't know what it is for as since the 1st bill, I haven't received another. And I say the 1st bill...that was during the period that they accidentally cancelled so I shouldn't have been billed at all! Bt were contacted and I was assured the bill would be cancelled...it wasn't and money was taken from my account. At that point I was pretty fed up but thought what's the point in phoning again as nothing would get done about it but I cannot leave this new matter.
I would like BT to refund the money I had to pay to my previous supplier and to come up with a better customer care system. A call centre in the UK would be helpful.

If you purchased the iMac less than 3 years ago and it has got one of the defective hard disks, Apple will still replace it for free. Make a backup of your files with Time Machine and take your computer to an Apple Store or reseller. A Genius will check if your Mac was purchased less than 3 years ago.
If the computer is older, you will have to pay. Note that if you already have the iMac on April 12th, 2013 and before, and you knew that your iMac had a defective hard disk, you should have taken it even if the hard drive was working correctly

Firefox continues to crash unexpectedly. The report mesage suggests that the information I send will help Firefox to cure the problem but I never hear anything from them. How is someone who isn't a computer geek supposed to solve this problem?

Firefox continues to crash unexpectedly. When it does a message requests me to send a report that is supposed to help Firefox understand the problem but I never hear from them again. Just how is someone who isn't a computer geek able to understand all the detailed discussions from other users. My Firefox is completely up to date. It's Shaunn, the original poster. Thanks for your posting. I'm glad I'm not the only one that's having this problem.
Now that you mention it, I'm having the exact same problem on Facebook as well, when I play Family Feud.
I wish someone would investigate and post a solution to this problem. No-one from Playlist has responded, and no-one "Officially" from Firefox either.

I get the following:
(1) iTunes - The software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly. Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you? Yes/No
(2) iTunes - The software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones could not be repaired. Please reinstall iTunes if you wish to use these devices. OK
(3) iTunes error message - A required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall iTunes. (-42404) OK
(4) iTunes error message - We could not complete your iTunes Store request. A required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall iTunes. (-42404) There is an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later. OK
Okay, so I decided to uninstall and reinstall. Funny, iTunes can be found in a program folder, but it does not show up in the programs list. I tried to look for it using the command prompt ("wmic" --> "product get name") but iTunes is not there either. Doesn't even show up in the registry to try to uninstall.
I just want to "properly" uninstall and reinstall iTunes (plus the other usual suspects, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, & Apple Application Support). If anyone out there has any suggestions, please help! (I'm running Windows Vista -- don't judge/laugh) :-)

Okay, feeling like an idiot, but will share so others don't have to. I rebooted my computer and that enabled iTunes to reappear in the programs list. Don't appear to be having the same problems as before (no error messages now). Problem solved!

Solution who encounter 'Setup does not detect Sound Blaster .....' error msg during installat

For those who encounter 'Setup does not detect sound blaster audio in the system' error upon installing from the installation CD. You can try the steps below that work for me. It seems Windows have lock on to the sound card with an incorrect ID thus the installation CD are not able to correctly identify the card. Be sure to do a backup copy of the registry first incase something goes wrong since we are editing the registry.
. Go to Start-Run and type in 'regedit' to start the registry editor application.
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\P CI.
3. You should see listing with 'VEN....'. Expand them by clicking on the + icon and then see if it's listed as unknown or Creative related stuff. Keep note of them.
4. Right click on those 'VEN......' listing that you have noted earlier and select full permission. Ensure that full control are selected. Now delete all those listed as unknown or Creative related stuff.
5. Exit registry editor and reboot. Try using the installation CD again.

How do I speak with someone in Customer SERVICE from the U.S. who isn't speaking from a script?

I am very frustrated. I have spent over 8 hours trying to get my Dreamweaver subscription to work on my PC to no avail. Six hours have been spent with foreign support. Want to make 3d sphere, 3d revolve isn't doing what I want

So I've got illustrator CC and I'm trying to map a pattern of a golf ball on to a sphere but it isn't doing what I'd like - it's distorting my circles the wrong way. I found a blog post about using a custom plugin, but the plugin looks like it's outdated. Wondering if there is a way to get the desired effect in CC that I'm missing? Does gather_stats job hold a lock on the tabs and indxes it analyzes

recently we have seen locking issues when gather stats job is run. The wait is 'library cache lock' wait event.
Wanted to know what kind of locks does gather_stats job hold on tables and indexes.

I have had locking issues with gather_stats as well.
I have an ETL job that runs every 5 minutes using dbms_job. This job updates materialized views (fast refresh on commit). It normally completes in one or two minutes.
When the maintenance window starts, gather stats starts running. The ETL process starts up, but it hangs until the maintenance window ends. At this time, the gather stats errors, seemingly releasing the ETL job to complete.
The odd thing is that when I look at the blocking locks during the maintenance window, it seems that it is the ETL process that has the lock, not the gather stats!
My only recourse is to turn off the ETL job to give gather stats a chance to run. Unless there are other ideas?

Who and when di the job get dropped?

Is there a log of sorts that can tell me who and/or when a job got dropped from the schedule ? I use to see it in my query against user_jobs but now its gone.

you can.
When you have used DBMS_SCHEDULER.LOGGING_FULL on the job that now is gone, in SCHEDULERJOB_RUN_DETAILS the drop of the job is logged, see the column OPERATION = 'DROP'. In SCHEDULERJOB_LOG you can even find back the job definition at drop time, see the ADDITIONAL_INFO column.

My client want could search candidates who haven't released their profile.
I know that with the manual application option they could do it but they have an special recruitment process in wich there aren´t publications...
There is any way to find candidates without release profile in the Recruiter option "Search candidates"?.
Somebody could guide me, please?.

Perhaps I did something wrong, beacuse I only can find candidates without release profile in the iview "Search" in the Recuiter Recruitment part. But I can´t use this option because it doesn´t let us assign candidates to requisitions, and this is our problem...
