Who loves their Iphone?

I have had my iphone since Friday night
and i am blown away by it.
Each day that passes I become more impressed with the
technology.
This is the first pda type phone that I actually like!!
I am coming from a palm 700 treo which i never used because of many problems and its bulk.
I actually had two phones since the treo was to bulky to carry in my pocket
last night i went about around town i kept the phone in my front pocket of my jeans it fits comfortably.
Just seeing if any one else is having such a great experience.

Me. I LOVE my iPhone. I too had an incredibly easy activation process. I literally watched m Moto Razr V3 phone's "all spark" die out and my new iPhone come to life within 3 minutes. Yup, that fast... I almost shed a tear or excitement and joy.
VERY IMPRESSIVE.
I do feel for everyone who had or is still having activation problems. It seems like most of you are on the east coast. I wonder if it's tied specifically to an east coast server?
anyhow...
The iPhone is incredible. Everytime i look at it and use it, i'm just blown away by the interface, it's simiplicity and just how easy and how well it works.
Yesterday, i spent the day driving around with friends here in the L.A. suburbs and i had perfect phone and EDGE reception. The 5 South fwy at the 101 fwy was backed up for hours due to a multiple car pileup and i was able to bring up 'sigalert.com' and read specifically what was going on and the fwy conditions in real time. My friends were blown away. Living in L.A., the internet 'in your pocket' feature is just a godsend.
I was demo'ing the iPhone to 3 friends as we waited in line for 'Ratatouille'... they were just blown away... and occasionally people around would catch notice i had an iPhone and they'd try to catch a glimpse or make a "oh wow" comment.
I just wish everyone had as excellent of an activation experience that i had.
enjoy!

  • Who loves their MBP?

I'm waiting for mine to be delivered tomorrow. Its in Oakland right now, but who aside from any buzzing they might have, think that the MBP is the notebook they've been waiting for?

I love mine--it arrived Friday afternoon and I spent Friday night & part of today getting things set up just right. So far, everything is great. I have not noticed a noticable whine; my latch works fine; battery life is 3.5 - 4 hours which is fine for me; and all my apps seem to run without any problems. MS Office suite runs fine for me.
The display is gorgeous. All in all, I'm a very happy camper . Have fun with your new toy when it arrives!

When I create a photo stream in ios6, everyone who is logged in to my iCloud account can see and edit my stream (on their iPhones only). Not just the email addressees that I sent the photo stream link to. Is that how photo stream security is meant to work? Is so it means my whole family can see any photo stream I set up. Hence no security? Can't share the pics with the wife then :(

The whole idea to an icloud account is that one user uses it and has all their devices synced together.  Different users need different Apple IDs to create their own icloud accounts.  Note that everyone can still use the same ID for an iTunes account (to share purchases).

  • Has anyone who ordered an iPhone 5s gold actually received their phone yet?

I am just wondering if anyone who ordered an iPhone 5s online for Verizon has actually received their phone yet. Since they haven't received any at the Apple stores I am wondering if anyone has an idea of when they will actually start shipping them out.
    Thanks

    Hi Mmaluski,
The Apple store indicates that they ship in October, so I would guess sometime between now and Halloween?
I don't think anyone here has a more specific idea than that....
    Sorry,

My iPhone does not always send iMessages to other iPhones who have their iMessages on. Most times I text a new contact with an iPhone first, they show up as regular text messages. How can I fix this?

Yes to receive an iMessage the recipient would need an iOS device (iPhone, iPod, iPad) and an internet connection. This is a messaging serviceprovided by Apple so the recipient does not need to check emails. If the contact does not have internet access at the time the iMessage is sent then a normal SMS through your carrier can be sent instead if you have "Send as SMS" turned on in Settings>Messages.

  • Anyone getting dust or manufacturing debris in their Iphone 3g?

This is my 3rd Iphone 3g I will return back to the Apple Store. Not only that but the signal is horrible. My parent's AT&T Samsung phone magically gets 4 bars while mine gets .5 bars (not even 1!). This is pretty horrible when I have to make a 35 minute drive to the Apple store. At least they don't make any problems exchanging the phone. Next Iphone I will wait couple months before getting one. Apple really failed with dust getting in between the LCD and the cover.
I would like to know if any of you have gone back multiple times to exchange their phone. This must be a record...going for my 3rd iphone 3g not counting the one I first bought.

However, there are a million (remember, Apple has sold over a million iPhones) users with no problems whatsoever, who would not post here, and probably don't even know these forums exist.
I'm not sure about that. They may not realize they have problems yet. It is like the bumper sticker; "If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention."
For example, I have seen posts here to the effect of the following: "Hey, love my iPhone 3G. What is this 3G stuff?" Someone like that may be oblivious to the 3G performance challenges that are being discussed in this forum.
Also, if so many are having no problems, how are these cases of phones with, say, five problems arising? I mean, statistically, how? From a manufacturing standpoint. One phone is perfect, and the next phone has, say, dead pixels, dust, cracks, silent switch falling off, and intermittent Home button?
I hope that the vast majority of iPhone 3G users are, indeed, enjoying trouble-free operation.

  • Has anyone noticed that their iPhone 5 has a yellow tinged display?

Has anyone noticed that their iPhone 5 has a yellow tinged display and the colours look too intense? Just does not look right.

Correction - I HAVE reported the fault to Apple and to my network provider who have informed me that they have received numerous complaints from their customers and are sending out replacements to them and to me. As I hadn't stated what steps I had taken in my original post you shouldn't be so fast to assume what I have or have not done.
    Thank you and goodbye.

  • Love the iPhone but Endless Spin with EDGE--Will it Improve???

I got the iPhone one week ago today and although I had a 30 hour wait for activation, all week I have absolutely loved everything about this wonderful product. I could not be more of a fan and have found many of the complaints of others, though obviously sincere, to be without substance in my case...except for ONE!
I can not believe how painfully slow the Internet Access is over the EDGE system. I am so tired of seeing that little Apple Star rotating in ENDLESS SPIN. If I am using WiFi it is fine, but the main idea of having this product for me was to be able to have access to the Internet when I was away from WiFi services!
Sometimes pages will not load at all and I just give up, other times they are so very slow that it becomes hopeless to try to browse or make any use of the connection, and this applies to Safari, Weather, E-mail, Google, and all the other features that connect to the Web.
I am not saying that EDGE does not work at all, or am I suggesting there is any flaw with the iPhone, I assume it has to do with the network, with traffic, or whatever. But my question is, are others having this problem to a degree that it is making you feel depressed about the otherwise wonderful product and its performance? And more important, will it improve?
Do we have any official word on that or even any acknowledgement from Apple or AT&T that there is a problem and that things will get better?
I have recommended this phone to many friends but I have to honestly tell them that this is a problem and if they drop their Blackberry and other services they need to consider this first. I have not used one of the other phones so I have no idea if they are better or worse in this area but I know the iPhone can not be successful without a good Internet connection. The whole idea makes no sense without it!
    James

The short answer is really NO. EDGE speed will not get faster. IN fact, it has sped up over the past two months to the maximum in most areas. It is indeed true that some areas have slightly higher speeds than others, but none are super fast. 3G runs at 4 - 5 times the speed of EDGE. My EDGE service either here in Ann Arbor/Detroit or last weekend in NYC never has gone above 160 (some report upto 220 in some areas elsewhere). My old Blackjack 3G phone would never be slower than 880, and usually in the 1200 range most of the time).
That being said, I had a 3G phone from ATT which I hated even though it was fast. I am willing to take the compromise on EDGE for now.
    A few hints:
    - Edge speed seems to be faster in the early morning and in the evening than during the day when everyone is logging on - if you have wifi at work, switch over to that
    - Set up mobile favorites rather than full internet sites -- they work about as fast as the 3G guy next to you on EDGE...for example, I have set up on my phone:
    - m.yahoo.com
    - m.yahoo.com/p/sports
    - mobileapp.espn.go.com/wireless/espn/redesign/index
    - webologistdesign.com/gomovies/demo/index.php
    - m.USAToday.com
    - m.NYTimes.com
IN order, I can check all my mobile favorites on yahoo, my selected yahoo sports teams, anything on ESPN, movies by zipcode (a clever app someone on this web site created!), USA Today, and the NY Times.
There are a lot of mobile (m) websites designed over the years to work with cell phones that are really fast and zippy and give you all the data you need without all the advertisements and photos that take up a lot of time to load on EDGE. Check your favorite websites and you will probably find a mobile version as well. You can even set up a mobile Google site that only looks up mobile websites when you seek data.
Finally, another idea - for those who want their sports scores, ATT has notification text messages you can set up for your favorite teams that will send you the scores at the end of innings, quarters, halftime, or at the end of a game. Pick the teams you want and have the scores sent to you with SMS without any internet lookup time needed. You can turn them on or off as you want from ATT's website.

  • HT201441 i have iphone that he has a apple acount but i don't now her acount and password because he come's from england and i don't now a person who was this iphone before me.can you help me to find this person

i have iphone thet he has an apple acount but i don't now her acount and i need help to find a person who was this iphone before me to ask her for a apple acount and password.please help me acount start k,,,,,@k,,,,,.uk if anyone now this person tell me please

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Unfortunately, you cannot do very much with your phone unless you get assistance from the previous owner, they should either provide you with the password to unlock it or remove their account from the phone entirely remotely through iCloud.com > Find My Phone.
If you have this persons email address, try sending them an email and asking them to remove their ID as described above.

  • One contact who has an iPhone but messaging will not send as iMessage

I have one contact, who has an iPhone, but messaging will not send as iMessage, only text.  All my other contacts with iPhones, the messages go as iMessages - even messages going to people who are not in my contacts.  What is the fix?

But if that person did not set up an iMessage account on their iPhone, then they cannot receive any iMessages at all, only SMS text messages.
Both the sender and the recipient must have an iOS device with an active iMessage account.
There is nothing you can do about it, other than ask them to set up iMessage on their device (which if they don't want to, is their choice).

  • Has anyone had their iphone 4 die on them? Mine is just 2 yrs old and won't switch on, tried all the remedies, reboot, tried to connect and reboot via itunes, new battery--nothing works

Hias anyone had their iphone 4 completely die on them? Mine won't switch on, I have tried using the power key with the home key, tried connecting it via usb cable to itunes, tried new battery- nothing has worked. The phone is just 2 yrs old this month, and I haven't dropped it or anything. I have never had a phone break on me before in almost 20 yrs of having mobile phones- I've had to resort to using a 7 yr old Nokia, which I used to love but it's not the same as my iphone!!

If you have attempted the reset, which is holding the home button and sleep/wake button, was it still connected to the computer? Have you tried to do that when not connected. You stated it never came on, how long did you hold the buttons together? If you cannot get it to connect to iTunes then you would not be able to restore the device. You can see if you can put the device into Recovery Mode by following the instructions in this support document. If that does not work, then you are correct, make an appointment at the Apple Store. If you can't update or restore your iOS device

  • Anyone else order their iphone online?

    Hi,
My friend at work was smitten with my iPhone and ordered one online, it says an estimated 2-4 week ship. Did anyone else order one online and get any different information from apple on maybe getting them sooner?
    iBookvG4   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

This is bizarre. I also ordered mine on Friday night. And I got an email from Apple stated that it was going to ship on the 13th (Friday the 13th!). However, some people who ordered on the same day, their iphones are shipping on the 6th. Oh well, I've waited six months, another couple of weeks aren't going to kill me. Maybe by that time, AT&T would have resolved the activation problems.

  • Hello, are there many others having problems with creating Genius Playlists from their iPhone 5's

    Hello People,
are there many others experiencing problems creating Genius Playlists from their iPhone 5's???
I have a 64GB Black iPhone 5 and a 32GB White iPhone 5, I have recently performed a fresh install (wiped phone memory and installed Apps individually again) yet even after this and no less then several calls to Apple I am still unable to create a genius playlist on either phone. The message I receive after hitting the Genius "star" is "The operation couldn't be completed. Operation timed out" Operation timed out."
I have tried this also on 3G and receive the same message........

I wish Apple would have provided more detail on how it worked. I wouldn't have posted this if I new that SMS & Mac Calling had nothing to do with Bluetooth pairing.
You mean like this? Get help using Continuity with iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite
Please note how Apple articulates this though.
    Check your settings
Check the following settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn on Wi-Fi if necessary.
Make sure your iOS devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network by going to Settings > Wi-Fi and comparing the name of the network each is on.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn on Bluetooth if necessary.
Go to Settings > General > Handoff & Suggested Apps and make sure Handoff is on.
Go to Settings > Phone. If you see Wi-Fi Calling, turn it off.
Sometimes things have to be explained in more detail for the general consumer who has been conditioned for decades to think about wireless  cellphone audio / light data to [anything other device else] connectivity in a certain fashion. That is to say Bluetooth dependent ...
For the non-technical person, which overwhelmingly many Apple users are, they would see that bulleted point and think if Bluetooth is not paired and active, then they would not received the full scope of their Continuity features.
It would have been better for the copywriter who wrote this to (*) footnote this entry and explain that while Bluetooth recognition may be necessary between Yosemite and iPhone, SMS Push to iMessage and Mac Calling does not require an actively paired connection as these functions are dependent on iCloud and both devices being registered on the same WiFi network.
Thank you to all who helped me get my mind around and figure this out.
It has also opened my eyes to how iCloud has become a critical link in Apple's overall walled garden  and business strategy.

  • When someone messages you from their iPhone or iPad, you receive the message to your iPhone (or iPad) but you don't know whether it is from their iPhone or iPad because all your iPhone sees is one contact. That needs to be updated.

When someone messages you from their iPhone or iPad you receive the message to your iPhone or iPad but you don't know whether it is from their iPhone or their iPad. That needs to be updated.

    Why does it matter?
It's the person who sent the message that is important, not which particular device they used to send it, surely?
When someone calls you from their home landland, is it necessary to know whether they're calling you from the phone in the kitchen, or the one in the bedroom?
