Who made folder on server?

We have about 20 users on our file server. Sometimes folders and files maybe on the server and I would like to know who put them there. On our old server I could highlight the file or folder and get info where it would say what computer user last modified it. With OSX 10.9 it dont show that info. Is there something I can turn or off or something to show this info again?
Thanks
Dave

Hi.
I sometimes need to see who did what on server. More specific I need to see what new files have been copied to the server, added or duplicated.
So I'm not so experienced with server. But is there any terminal command or other software where I can see in detail what all the users connected to the server have done.
This is an area that Mac OS X (Server) appears to be very poor at. There is an AFP server Access log which records logins, file opening, deletion, etc. unfortunately all the entries are logged against TCP/IP addresses and not user names. Therefore in order to see for example who deleted a file you need first to find the entry logging the deletion of the file, note the TCP/IP address, and then scroll back through the log (or even multiple logs) until you find the matching login for that TCP/IP address.
This is so unbelievably tedious that no one is likely to do it.
Not to mention that there could be two or more logins from the same IP address running at the same time and I cannot see how based on this you can tell which would have been responsible. For example I run a Mac Terminal server which allows multiple Mac users to be logged in at the same time and all of these would be using the same TCP/IP address and accessing the same server!

    Hi Hezequias,
    You can get the ProjectModifiedDate column in MSP_EPMProject_userView in the Reporting DB where you can
    get the data based on the projectUID.
    The "last saved" date in the draft DB (be aware that querying in the draft DB is not supported by MS).
    For the "last modified by", I think it is not stored in any place.
    But you can develop custom code upon publishing the project (Event BeforePublish), writing the current
    date and username automatically into a custom enterprise field.

  • Can't upload to FTP Host - 'Folder on server does not exist'

    I haven't tried updating my site for about a month now. I went onto Muse last night and while uploading to the FTP Host, it kept freezing at about 66% while handling the image files.
    This was odd because I'd never had this problem before, but I noticed there was an update, so I decided to get Muse 2014.2, as maybe this could fix my problem.
    I made the same changes to my site and went to upload to FTP Host. After convincing Muse my details were correct (kept being told I had been timed out and my username or password was wrong) I was finally connected to the FTP server. However, my 'Folder on Server' (httpdocs) doesn't seem to exist according to Muse.
    I spoke to GoDaddy's support team for over an hour as we tried variations on the httpdocs folder and we had no idea why Muse wasn't accepting this (they also checked the file exists). They tried Filezilla and that was fine, so it's obviously a problem with Muse. I asked if I should just click on the option to create the httpdocs folder, but GoDaddy advised against it.
    I tried contacting the Adobe Customer Care chat thing, but I don't even know what's happening with that ("chat is unavailable . . . we'll be with you shortly" . . . eh?)
    If anyone has a solution to either my problem on the old Muse or this new problem with Muse 2014.2 (ideally this one) then that would be great.
    Also, I'm only using Muse because it cuts out all the complex stuff, so go easy on me when explaining anything that isn't "you just need to click this"

    UPDATE: I uninstalled both versions of Muse and re-installed the 2014.2 version to see if that would work, but it still doesn't think the httpdocs file exists.
    (As a result of uninstalling the old Muse, my problem regarding the freezing at 66% is now irrelevant. Just need help with Muse not accepting the httpdocs folder)

  • How to find out who made inserts/updates/deletes made to a SQL Table

    I want to know WHO MAKES INSERTS/UPDATES/DELETES TO a particular SQL Table. Bascially I want to AUDIT ANY Edites made to a SQL 2008 TABLE. I need info such as WHO AMDE THE Updates i.e. the user first/lastname, When update was made, what row was updated etc...How
    can I do that with SQL 2008?

    One way to achieve that would be to use triggers to detect when a change is made to the table, and then insert a record into another table/database detailing what changed and who by.
    You'd need three triggers, one for insert, update and delete respectively, and for each of those you use the "inserted" and "deleted" tables (system tables maintained by SQL) to retrieve what has been done. To retrieve who made the change you can query IDENT_CURRENT
    which returns the last identity value for a specific table.
    See :
    Triggers -
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/ms189799(v=sql.100).aspx
    Inserted & deleted tables -
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191300(v=sql.100).aspx
    INDENT_CURRENT -
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms175098(v=sql.100).aspx
    There may be better / more up to date ways to do this, but I've used this method successfully in the past, albeit a long time ago (on a SQL 2000 box I think!).

    How to change icloud email? It wasn't me who made it. So every time I used my Apple ID is linked to that email?

    Once you have created an iCloud account and chosen an @icloud.com address to go with it you can't change that address (short of creating an entirely new account).
    However, all is not lost. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
    You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account or move it to another account.

  • Update item in SharePoint 2010 list when a entry made in SQL server

    Hi there,
    I have four lists on a SharePoint 2010 site. There is a column - Equipment Name - in each of the lists. I want only this column to be updated in all the lists, when a new entry is made in SQL server.
    I referred
    http://oszakiewski.net/eric/connecting-a-sharepoint-2010-list-to-external-database-table and found it good, however I want to only update one column and not to perform CRUD. Also, can it be possible to achieve this without referring to Central Administration
    settings?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Let’s verify the following:
    Whether your four lists are external list with SQL Server data source. If not, you can’t sync the list with SQL Server.
    External list items are sync from data source, they keep sync all the time.
    Whether you aren’t want to perform CRUD in the list. You can select some of them instead of using all of them.
    You can create all of the column from the four lists in your SQL Server database table, and then create four external lists with that table as data source.
    Modify view-> in each external list check the columns which you want display in every list. Then you can update the “Equipment” column in each external list.

  • FAQ: How are notifications made when a server is added to a cluster?

    Hello,
              From the FAQ:
              Q: How are notifications made when a server is added to a cluster?
              A: The WebLogic Server cluster broadcasts the availability of a new
              server instance each time a new instance joins the cluster.
              Cluster-aware stubs also periodically update their list of available
              server instances.
              Does anybody know which interval is used for those Cluster-aware stubs?
              Regards,
              Merg

    that's incorrect. It is not periodic. Anytime the server comes up it uses
              multicast to advertise its availability as well as the services it
              provides. When all the announcements are through you can get Cluster-aware
              stubs from that server as well.
              Cheers,

  • All user id's who made changes to the queries since created in production

    Hi all,
    I have  queries and structres in Production, and there are many users using the queries and strcutres and making changes to queries and structures. The end user are trained to become power users. So I want to know the all the user ids who  made the changes to queries or structures since created. If I go to properties I can know only the last changed user id and owner of the query or strucure.
    Any help is greatly appreciated
    Thanks,
    Raj.

    Raj,
    in general BW does not keep a change history. Typically the user ID of the creator and the one who changed an object the last time is stored.
    If you want "control", then have user create objects in development and transport them. The transport system will provide a complete change history (consistent through all objects, not just queries).

  • Keeping track of anyone who made a deletion from a table

    Dear all;
    I thought this was going to be easy but I am yet to think of a solution to this problem. I have the following table created
    create table test_tbl
       test_id varchar2(10) not null,
       test_modifiedby varchar2(30),
       test_result number(10),
       primary key(test_id)
    );with the following insert
    insert into test_tbl
      (test_id, test_modifiedby, test_result)
    values
      ('122', 'John', 4);
    insert into test_tbl
      (test_id, test_modifiedby, test_result)
    values
      ('123', 'Jamie', 6);
    insert into test_tbl
      (test_id, test_modifiedby, test_result)
    values
      ('124', 'Katy', 8);
    insert into test_tbl
      (test_id, test_modifiedby, test_result)
    values
      ('125', 'Eric', 10);I am trying to write a simple procedure which is used for deletion and also I would like to be able to keep track on and the save the user who made the deletion and that is where I am having problems. I need to keep track on who made the deletion because I have a trigger which is used to save all deleted test_id made. See trigger below
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER test_tbl_before_delete
    BEFORE DELETE ON test_tbl
    for each row
    begin
    insert into audit_test_tbl_table
        (test_id, test_modifiedby, test_result)
    values
       (:old.test_id,
        :old.test_modifiedby,
        :old.test_result
    end;Please how do I solve this problem. All help will be appreciated. Thank you.

    Unfortunately Rob, I wouldnt be able to do that because I am using a web development tool called Asp.net which is linked to our oracle database and from the web development tool, users are able to login into the application I am designing and based on their login creditials, they are able to carryout tasks like deletions, insertions, etc. Now I am able to get the user name and info directly from the web development and able to pass it into my deletion procedure. See procedure below
    procedure deletefromtest_tbl(delete_testid in varchar2, delete_modifieruser in varchar2)
      AS
    temp_cnt number;
    BEGIN
    select count(*) into temp_cnt from test_tbl td
    where td.test_id = delete_testid
    if(temp_cnt != 0) then
        delete test_tbl pk
        where pk.test_id = delete_testid
      commit;
        end if;
    end deletefromtest_tbl;From the procedure, I really don't know how to apply the delete_modifieruser (which contains the information of the user that perform the delete) so that information gets saved in the audit_test_tbl_table.

  • Is there an application to monitor users who log into Windows Server 2012 R2?

    I'm looking at Family Safety Feature in Windows 8 and like what they can do.  I have a request to monitor, track users who log into Windows Server 2012 R2 to see how many users login, how long each login is for each user so a monthly report can be generated.
    1.  I just wonder if Windows Essential 2012 can be used for this purpose or not.  If it can, is Windows Essential 2012 a feature can be added or installed on Windows Server 2012 R2?
    2.  If Window Essential 2012 cannot be used for this purpose, is there any feature in Windows Server 2012 R2 that can be used for this purpose?
    3.  Is there any other suggestions?
    Thank you for your help.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Hien Phan

    Hi Hien,
    Anything updates?
    It seems that there is no feature can do that. I agree with Tim that you can check the event logs. In general, the event 4624 would be created when a user was logged on, and the event 4634 would be created when a user account was logged
    off.

    Hey
    Thanks!
    I tried and got to the > REPORTS as you suggested.
    I see on the screen: REPORTS and below: REPORT DETAIL.
    When I choose the date/time from REPORTS, I get at the REPORT DETAIL option to sort the report by a few options. And then a table with columns:
    Thread,  Timestamp,  Operation,  Action,  Details,  Segment Time (ms) and  Complete Time (ms).
    And noe i don't know how to continue.
    Can someone explain to me how can I use this report? Or to explain the columns details that I got.
    I heard about another option at the MDM CONSULE > ADMIN > CHANG TRACKING.
    I defined a field that I want to track the changes that have been made at that field.
    But I donu2019t know where I can see the result of the tracking.
    or maybe there is another step that i need to define before i will see the tracking?
