Who's familiar with WAD maps?
Hi,
I am working with GIS by using WAD. Who is working on it as well?
I am in SAP. I am looking forward to learning and sharing with you.
Thanks,
zhan
Zhan,
For the shape files :
1. You can create the files from the ArcView site ( not very useful since they did not work for me earlier )
2. Request ArcView to send you the relevant shape files ( they do this and the files they send will work - atleast it worked for me )
3. BI3.5 comes with a license of ArcView - order your ArcView copy and you will get the shape files in a separate CD for SAP BI ( but this wouold involve a lead time of about 3 to 4 weeks for placing the order and getting the software - most often versions get mixed up and you end up getting the wrong installation without the BW files )
4. Check the demo content and the shape files would be preloaded into the demo content - or if you have not activated demo content - then you should be able to find the files on the BW server - SAP will have to help you on this..

Help,who are familiar with function u2018SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOWu2019
hi experts.
i use this function in a program,and the value of the parameter 'TASK' is TS90500026..that is ok...everything go well.
and now i copy TS90500031 from TS90500026, i didn't change anything,just copy it.i hope to use TASK TS90500031 instead of TS90500026 in the function ''SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW''.but the export parameter 'workitem_id' is initial while if i use TS90500026,then return a workitem_id.
i don't know what else i should do....i want to work it out why the function don't return me a workitem_id if i use TS90500031..
anyone who are familiar with this function plz help me..thanks a lot.
regards.Hi,
IF I am not wrong there should be any object and event in the triggerring event field of the task.
Try to replicate the same oject and event present in the tasks triggerring tab. Activate the event - task linkage for the new task. so that task gets triggered successfully and gives the workitem id in the export parameters.

Questions for anyone who is familiar with Apple's Pages application
I'm writing something on page layout software and have some questions about Apple's Pages product:
Does Pages let you import native Photoshop files?
Import native AI files with PDF preview?
Regular PDF files?
Does Pages let you work in CMYK?
Spot colors?
Spot and CMYK together?
Export to PDF?
You don't have to answer all these. I can use any help I can get.I just did a little testing. The current version of Pages in iWork 08 did better than I expected. It has both Word Processor and Page Layout modes. Page Layout mode lets you add real pages and word like a layout application.
It places Photoshop and AI files with PDF preview, and the first page of a regular PDF file (I couldn't find where you could choose pages). Choose Insert > Choose. The Help says it accepts all QuickTime-supported file formats.
"After importing an image into a document, you can mask (crop) it and change its brightness and other settings. You can place an image inside a shape, text box, chart element, or table cell. Pages also lets you work with graphics with transparency (alpha-channel graphics)."
Also supports adding 2 and 3D charts, sounds, movies.
I created objects and colored them with the CMYK sliders. I didn't see a way of choosing spot colors.
PDF is one of the export formats (without the choices of course of InDesign). It correctly exported the PSD, AI file, and PDF. It correctly passed the spot colors in the AI and PDF files into the exported PDF. And the CMYK-colored pages objects came out in CMYK!
Much better than Microsoft Word. -
Those Who are familiar with Oracle9i
Hello Friend,
If you have gone through Oracle 9i documentation , you will see they have mentioned about MULTIPLE BLOCK SIZE Configuration.
Is it really possible?
And secondly my database block size is 8K and DB_CACHE_SIZE is 24M. Then what is the significance of defining DB_4K_CACHE_SIZE or DB_32K_CACHE_SIZE?
Can anybody clear my doubts? It will be really appreciated.
Thanks
SumitIt has to do with row packing and the number of blocks to read. If one can create a larger block -- say for a data warehouse project -- the database has to make fewer block reads to get the data. However, for an OLTP application, you may want to go with a smaller block size to prevent contention between different users.
We are still in the experimentation stage, but it is nice to get away from the one size fits all mindset. -
Hi,
I am using Java RMI to control a unix solaris Java application from a xp Java application on a PC. While I could have the unix side send the pc side data which would be displayed in the usual way on the PC, I was wondering if there is a way to have the unix side display the data and somehow map the display to show up on the the PC side.
Acutually I am re-doing an application which was originally only on the unix side, so I might save a lot of code if I could do a unix display to pc display mapping (perhaps outside of the Java environment). This woudl be especially useful since not all the unix java methods work on XP java (like jFileChooser which is a documented bug).
Thanks in advance for your help,
Techy613Assuming I understand his question correctly, here is
the scenario:
You have an application running on a machine, and it
has a GUI. Now you want to be able to have the
application's GUI appear on the screen of one or more
remote clients, while the application continues to
operate on the server machine.
People who's development experience is from a Unix
type OS environment are quite familiar with this
ability. First it they had telnet, for console based
applications, later they got XWindows, for GUI
applications.
Java display remoting however, is like XWindows on
steroids. The display and presentation code now
actually execute on the client. The open source
project I lead
at java.net not only can do this, but with no
architectural impact to the application itself. It
can remote the GUI as an applet, or as an application
via WebStart.
I hope that helped,
JohnIn my case, I need the java application to do file I/O on the unix server side, not the XP client side. I just need the gui to appear on the XP client side. John, would the cajo environment automatically support this scenario?
Thanks,

In logic Pro, when I open up an audio track or software track and load an audio file/loop or software file loop, there is no sound. Issue with group mapping in ACS.
When we map AD group in ACS with ACS group it coming as AD group and * (As below â ,* â ) , Because of this * everybody is able to login irrespective of his AD group.
Please suggest way to only add the NT Group alone without the *.Actually '*' means something else.
If you have a group on AD say 'Alfa'
when you do a mapping on ACS, you'll see it like this,
'Alfa', * ------- Group x
Above means, if a user a member of Group 'Alfa' on AD, AND can also have any other group membership on AD (meaning of *), then map it to Group x on ACS.
It does not mean map everyone to Group x, even if they are not a member of Group 'Alfa' on AD.
As mentioned by JG above, all the users are able to authentication because of your 'All other combination' or \DEFAULT mapping on ACS.
Map them to .
Then only those will be able to log in, for whom you have the mapping defined on ACS.

Special characters issue with Nokia Maps on N95
Hi there,
when using Navigation in conjunction with Nokia Maps on my N95, all streets and towns which contain any special character in their name (for example: é, è, ü, ä, ö, etc…) do appear as unreadable garbage on the screen of the N95.
I only noticed the problem after having purchased the 3 years license Navigation upgrade (EUR 99.99) and immediately notified Nokia. That was back in October. Since then I have called them at least 10 times and ultimately I have asked for a refund as no solution is still available.
In all these calls with Nokia, the only reasonable argument I heard was that maybe (!!!) the new software update version 20.0.015 released back at the end of November could solve the issue. Unfortunately, for my phone (which is a branded one) the update is not yet available.
Today, after calling them again, I was told that Nokia’s policies do not foresee refunds and therefore my request has been rejected. I was told to bring my phone to a Nokia Store and see if they can help me (I don’t see how). I was also told that maybe I would have to send-in the phone for repair.
This is soooo frustrating that despite the 3 months of patience and all the money spent for the N95 (not quite cheap), the navigation upgrade and the phone calls to Nokia, I still have the same issue. I will probably end up filing a complaint with a monthly consumer’s magazine in the hope they will publish my story.
After all, it may not even be Nokia’s fault but rather the guys who are responsible for the maps, but if Nokia accepts to have a commercial venture with a vendor, than they also accept liability for the joint product. And by turning down my legitimate request for refund, they have proven not to give a **bleep** about people like you and me.
Forgive me for the long post - needed to release some of the frustration...I have been using an N95-8GB since Nov.'07. From my experience with this phone that has a built-in mass memory besides the phone memory. I had trouble retrieving some of the softwares I have installed. For eg. I have saved some themes in the mass memory & I could not find it when I want to delete it. There are some 3rd parties games software inside where I cannot even delete
This is what I don't like about the phone. I have bought an N82/Black recently as it uses an external memory card.
Coming back to Nokia maps. Personnaly, I don't think they are that good & I have problem downloading it into my phone from my PC after having downloaded it from Nokia.
By the way the Nokia map is not even the latest map 2.0. Is still a 1.0
I used Navfone map software & it works OK in the 8GB. You have to purchase it.
I have used a couple of N-series phones in the past ie. N-90, N-70, N-71, N-73, N-80/Black, N95, N-95/8GB & now N-82.
Common with all N-series phones. After you have disconnected when you are done with your call you have to wait for a while before the word "disconnected" disappears.
The more features it has, the more problem you are gonna to encounter.
Unless you want to download softwares into your phone & have a good camera thats where the N series phones come in.
For normal usage, a 40 series phone will suffice. -
Hi,
What is the use of FLEX?
Can flex be used with WAD 3.x?
Is there any guide for using Flex?
Any pointings/help will definitely be rewarded.
Please help.
--RaguHi,
SAP is moving away from SAP proprietary technology to support common frameworks and standards which are already popular outside the SAP universe. The eSOA initiative is clearly a big step into that direction.
Every technology (including user interface frameworks) has pros and cons. Instead of trying to push one technology to fit all possible use cases SAP is now allowing customers to use the best UI technology for their specific needs. This includes Web Dynpro, Interactive Forms, Duet, Mobile and Flex.
Certainly Adobe Flex has established itself as the major Rich Internet Application (RIA) framework around. The Adobe Flex Book is one of fastest selling books from O'Reilly right now. There is a growing eco-system of Flex developers. By enabling integration between SAP and Flex, SAP customers can benefit from that eco-system and the engaging UI of Rich Internet Applications. I see a growing number of SAP customers who require rich and compelling user interfaces and therefore decide to build custom UI's with Adobe Flex. Some of those customers started with Visual Composer (which is a great UI modeling tool which can generate Flash UI), but then wanted to extend and customize the UI beyond the capabilities of VC. VC is a modeling tool, not a development environment. Flex Builder is targeted at developers (Eclipse based development environment) who want to create RIA and integrated them with backend applications.
I understand that the various options make it harder fro SAP developers to decide which tool to use for which purpose (certainly was easier when Deynpro was the only option), but strongly believe that end-users will benefit from the improved UI options which can be customized for specific tasks and user groups. Adobe and SAP continue to work together to integrate UI technologies (e.g. SAP is working on the integration of Flex/Flash UI into Web Dynpro).
Adobe Flex is part of Visual Composer Compiler capabilities. At SAP TechEd in Munich was an interessting demo of rendering webdynpro with Flex during the Demo Jam. For more information you can download the Demo Jam Video here.

Anybody generally familiar with laptop monitor sync ranges?
After having been happy with arch linux on my desktop for almost 12 hours, I'm now configuring it for my laptop. I'm now working on my XFree86 configuration, and I've hit a snafu. I have no idea what the horizontal & vertical sync ranges ought to be. I never got any monitor documentation with my laptop, and the technical specifications provided by gateway (the manufacturer; not very OSS friendly hardware, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone getting a new computer) (on the other hand, the boxes are very pretty) are a little bit lacking.
Consequently, here is everything I can dig up. Is there anyone generally familiar with the kind of frequencies that modern laptop monitors can handle, who can give me a good idea of some values to use?
We've got:
15.0-inch active matrix (TFT) LCD color display
Maximum panel resolution: 1024 × 768
Maximum color depth: 32-bit (16.7 million colors)
LCD supported video modes: XGA
LCD maximum refresh rate: 60 Hz
Thanks!my lcd-config looks like this:
Section "Monitor"
Option "CalcAlgorithm" "CheckDesktopGeometry"
DisplaySize 305 230
HorizSync 28-95
Identifier "LCD"
ModelName "FlexView 1600X1200"
VendorName "IBM"
VertRefresh 52-82
# UseModes "Modes[0]"
ModeLine "1600x1200/60Hz" 162 1600 1664 1856 2160 1200 1201 1204
1250 +HSync +VSync
Option "DPMS
EndSection
but the data i got from the manual, so it's not guessing but knowing
you can try the refresh and sync rates i use if nobody answers specific for your machine --- i know this settings work on 4 different lcd's for sure and never heard that they made trouble
instead of the Modeline (i use), i suggest you to write modelines and then just include the Modes-section you wrote to the monitor section (the out-commented line i added)
would be better you get other replys specific on your hardware - mine is more general, sorry -
Anyone familiar with Flash Presentations?
Hi.
I continue to have problems playing movieclips on certain
slides of a Flash Presentation.
If anyone has *reasonable* experience with Flash
presentations please let me know. You might be familiar with the
problem, or have suggestions.
Thanks in advance,
Kchez Lou,
> 1. Would I be better off just placing everything on the
main
> timeline, and saving the use of mc for animations that

> continously (for instance animations that "accent" the

> of the slide, vs those used to put the content
together)?
Well, that would certainly be one approach, but then you
lose out on the
benefit of nested movie clips, not the least of which is
avoidance of
timeline sprawl. I played a bit more with the Slide API this
morning. I
can see what's going on. Under the hood, each slide is a
movie clip, and
they all exist at once, so if you have nested animation on
any slide ...
they all start playing even on slide 1, and might in fact
have played
through by the time you hit slide 5.
> 2. Do you know of a way to have an animation stop on the
last
> frame, yet replay on slide re-entry?
Here's what I came up with. Let's assume you have two
buttons on the
root presentation slide. By default, Flash gives you a root
slide named
"presentation" and a child slide named "slide1". In my
experiment, I added
a Next and Previous button to "presentation" and wired them
up like this:
btnNext.onRelease = function():Void {
this._parent.currentSlide.gotoNextSlide();
btnPrev.onRelease = function():Void {
this._parent.currentSlide.gotoPreviousSlide();
This uses the button event handling approach I prefer,
personally, over
on() and onClipEvent() -- I'm not sure which approach you're
using. In this
approach, the code codes into a keyframe, typically a
dedicated scripts
layer, rather than attached to the object itself. The buttons
have the
instance names btnNext and btnPrev. A function is assigned to
the
Button.onRelease event of each button instance, and the
functions call
either Slide.gotoNextSlide() or Slide.gotoPreviousSlide() as
appropriate.
In order to target the relevant Slide instance, I use the
Slide.currentSlide
property, which I reference via the expression this._parent.
Let me explain that, real quick. In the above code, the word
"this"
refers to the corresponding button instance itself -- in
btnNext's onRelease
handler, "this" refers to btnNext. btnNext -- the button
symbol -- is, by
nature, an instance of the Button class. Consulting the
Button class in the
ActionScript 2.0 Language Reference, I see that all button
instances have a
Button._parent property, which points to the object that
contains the
button. Cool. Therefore, from a button's point of view,
this._parent
refers to the timeline that contains the button. Normally,
such a reference
points to a MovieClip instance (which is what timelines are;
they're movie
clips). That's the case here, too, but thanks to the way
object-oriented
programming works, and because we're inside a Slide
presentation, the parent
movie clip of this button is also an instance of the Slide
class.
Look up "Slide class" in the Components Language Reference,
and you'll
see the full pedigree. Any instance of Slide has the
following family tree:
MovieClip > UIObject > UIComponent > View >
Loader > Screen > Slide. Slides
*are* movie clips, but they're more than that. They're also
UIObjects,
which are objects that contain all the functionality of movie
clips, and
then some. They're also UIComponents, which addes even more
functionality,
and so on ... all the way through Slide. One of the
properties of the Slide
class is Slide.currentSlide. Bingo!
So ... this._parent (in this context) refers to a Slide
instance, which
means this._parent.currentSlide refers to the currently
showing slide, which
is obviously also a Slide instance. For that reason, we can
still invoke
Slide class methods on the reference, which is why something
like
this._parent.currentSlide.gotoNextSlide() works.
Forgive me, by the way, if you already understand all of
this. Forum
replies are searchable, and who knows ... in the future, the
explanation has
the potential to help someone else, too. :)
Okay, so now the issue is, we want each current slide to run
through any
nested movie clips it may have, regardless of their instance
names, and tell
each movie clip to start again from frame 1 of its own
timeline. Amend the
above code to look like this:
import mx.screens.Slide;
btnNext.onRelease = function():Void {
this._parent.currentSlide.gotoNextSlide();
var slide:Slide = this._parent.currentSlide;
for (var prop:String in slide) {
if (typeof(slide[prop] == "movieclip")) {
slide[prop].gotoAndPlay(1);
btnPrev.onRelease = function():Void {
this._parent.currentSlide.gotoPreviousSlide();
var slide:Slide = this._parent.currentSlide;
for (var prop:String in slide) {
if (typeof(slide[prop] == "movieclip")) {
slide[prop].gotoAndPlay(1);
The import statement allows us to reference Slide as a
datatype, which
happens just below the line in each event handler that was
already there.
To save a few keystrokes (basically, to make the code easier
to read), we're
creating a temporary variable, slide, and setting it to the
same
this._parent.currentSlide expression we already used. Once
gotoNextSlide()
or gotoPreviousSlide() is called, the value of
this._parent.currentSlide
changes, because now a *new* slide is the current slide. It's
the new slide
we're interested in. Using the variable slide as a kind of
shorthand, we
use a for..in loop to run through all the properties of the
current slide.
If the datatype of a given propery is a movie clip, we tell
it to go to
frame 1 of its own timeline and start playing.
What I've spelled out may or may not fit, exactly, with your
current
circumstance, but that's why I spent a bit of time explaining
the mechanics
of it. I hope that steers you in a useful direction. :)

BB Desktop Manger v5 with 9500 unable to sync Calendar with categories map fields
BB Desktop Manger v5 with BB Storm 9500
Two laptops one with XP sp3 with office/outlook 2003 and the other vista 64bit with office/outlook 2007
The sync of both the Address book and Tasks are great as I can use the catergories "map field" in both of these options.
The device and the application "outlook 2007/2003" both have the catergories field.
The problem is I am unable to sync The Calendar with categories map fields.
The device side of the map field does'nt have the catergories option but the application side "outlook 2007/2003" does.
From the main menu on the BB Desktop manager / Synchronization / Synchronization tab / Advanced Tab / Calendar / Map Fields Tab
The left side of the screen is the Device listing and the right side is Microsoft outlook.
Is their a way I can add this field to the map fields option for the device?
ThanksHi damlandberg,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
This KB article should provide more information on the synchronization error you are receiving as well as a workaround to enable your synchronization. Someone who could help with a small problem getting prices from TWS
Hi
I have this trading platform from Interactive Brokers, called TWS. Inside TWS there are two columns that I really need to get into my excel sheet. But the DDE stuff doesn't support these two columns, and all I can think of is to use some kind of Java to get it out of TWS and make it ready for Excel. I need the Open price and/or the Gap% value.
I dont know anything about Java, but I have been told from others that it shouldn't be very difficult to make.
Is there anyone that would be nice and give me a hand? I will try to explain in detail how it works, if you are not familiare to Interactive Brokers system.
Best regards

Using Nokia N95 with Mac - maps etc...
Does anybody know if the new Nokia N95 can be synced up with Mac. The nokia website only mentions the PC suite for windows. I have managed to download photos via the usb cable, but would like to download maps for the built-in satnav, transfer videos music etc...
My dusty 5 year old PC laptop has been in the cupboard for 2 years since I bought my first Mac and I'd rather not go back and upgrade eveything just to make the most of this cool new device.
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum - where else would I post it?You can only use MapLoader on Windows.
I am using it under Parallels Desktop Build 3188. The thing is, smart2go who i think provides the map is still on beta stage. Out of the box, it has been my pratice to reformat my phone, so I have lost the maps. When I tried to download Philippines map (1.3 mb) it took me an hour to complete the download. -
Adam Taylor publishes the MicroZed Chronicles weekly in the Xcell Daily blog so you are likely familiar with his writing. Adam has just published an article about SDSoC and Zynq titled “High-level synthesis comes of age with SDSoC” on the Embedded.com Web site. Here’s his motivation for writing this article:
“…Zynq is a device every embedded system designer should be familiar with and considering for their application. At its heart the Zynq is not a FPGA with embedded processors -- like previous generations of FPGA with Power PCs -- but a true embedded processor with very flexible interfacing capabilities (DDR, CAN, UART, USB, Giga Bit Ethernet, SPI and I2C to name a few). What separates the Zynq from other embedded processors is the attached programmable logic, and with SDSoC embedded system developers can exploit this pretty simply…
SDSoC takes the eclipse front end, Vivado HLS, Vivado and a lot of behind the scenes intelligence to create seamlessly the option to accelerate software functions in the attached programmable logic of the device.”
What follows is a simple explanation of what SDSoC brings to the party from a design engineer’s perspective.
