Who/what overrides what?

Also, which overrides what? iCloud, iPhone or iTunes? If I change all the data in iCloud and it is the correct data, does it override the iPhone data and override the information in Outlook too? I've had too many duplicates in contacts and have taken them out from iCloud, now will it sync to iPhone and Outlook this data or will the corrupt data from iPhone and Outlook come into iCloud?

The contacts on icoud.com are the master set. To be safe, download a copy of the correct contacts from icloud.com before beginning. To do this (from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4910):
Go to iCloud Contacts at icloud.com/contacts, and sign in using your iCloud Apple ID and password.
Verify you are viewing All Contacts by looking at the top-left of the Contacts address book style interface. You should see All Contacts.
If you are not viewing All Contacts, click the groups ribbon to load the Groups interface.
Then, click All Contacts in the Group interface to load All Contacts.
Click the groups ribbon again to return to the standard Contacts interface.
Click the Action (gear) menu, and select Select All. Every Contact should be highlighted after doing this.
Click the Action (gear) menu, and select Export vCard.
A combo vCard will be created and begin downloading.
Safari on OS X will automatically download the combo vCard to your Downloads folder (~/Downloads).
Other web browsers, and Safari on Windows, will prompt you about where you wish to save the combo vCard. Choose a location, and save the combo vCard.
Then enable iCloud contact syncing on your devices and if prompted, do not choose to merge with iCloud. If something goes wrong and the contacts become corrupted again you can use the vCard backup to restore the correct contact list back to iCloud.

If you look through ALL the reviews, they are mainly good. I feel that Lion is an excellent upgrade, although not essential.
There have been some issues with MS Office, but right now, it is up to Microsoft to issue a Lion compatible update, which will come in time. Saying this, MS Office has been working fine on my mac, it seems to be an isolated issue.
Logic 9 seems like a strange issue. Again, an update looks to be coming soon, with Lion support.
I do not feel that apple only focusing on the iPhone and iPad user base. There are many features carried along, but the machine can still be used for pro tools and use just as well. It still is a fantastic, reliable, fast, easy to use OS, which I have had very few problems with. Some additions you may not use, but they don't get in the way. You will love the new Exposé, Mission Control, as it is great for pro users who have many windows open at once, and the new spaces. You may however, never use Launchpad, but you don't have to, just drag it away from the dock!
I really reccomend buying a mac with Lion, although if you are worried about bugs, wait a few months for the issues to be ironed out, and updates to be given. Because the update is so very cheap, I really think you can hardly go wrong. Try it out with your current mac, and if you like it, go ahead and buy your new ones.
Lion is fantastic, albeit maybe rushed.

I'm sorry but what is a who thing?
If you are just having problems getting youtube to play on your phone, I would start with shutting down all the apps sitting in the multitask tray, then I would do a reset, and if that doesn't work I would do a network settings reset.
If you are having problems runnig Youtube over your own wifi network, I would throw in a router restart and see if that helps.

What signal is it picking up? Are you joining wireless network? If so don't.. it is really poor way to run things.
Is it connected to a cable modem? Full router or just a modem type?
Try a reset?
Plug in via ethernet.. turn off everything.. wait 5min then restart cable modem.. if that doesn't work, give it a longer off cycle.. 15min or overnight.
We need more info.

My college kids charge on my credit card- how can I see who is charging what?Unlike all other vendors, you can't get info from apple 800 number on the charge

how can I find out what my college kids are buying on itunes. It is charged to my credit card number but the 800 number given to the credit card company takes me to the web site. I can only see purchases with my own account. Short of cutting off apple as a vendor is there a way to see this? Is there a way to look up purchases by the order number?

Are these college kids your kids, or have you allowed details of your credit card to be more freely available? I can't believe the latter ... but who knows.
Anyhow; surely the purchases you see are what has been charged to your account. Assuming you know which of these are yours, the balance has to be that made by the 'College kids'.
Or is there more to this than meets the eye?

I set up sync on one computer - will this override what's on my other computer? I don't want to lose anything.

I have bookmarks for personal stuff on my personal computer and bookmarks for professional stuff on my work computer. If I set up sync on both of them will both computers have both information or will the first computer (home) wipe out what's on the work computer and replace it with what's on the home computer?

What can I do to get my ID to work. The error code I get is Unable to verify email because it is already in use. Where do I go to find out who or on what program it is being used?

Christmas present a new ipad. Refurbished. I am not sure what the stats are. All I do know is I sure could use some help and would be very appricative of it.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

Have you installed the "Battery Update" from the Apple site? Has the battery been replaced through the battery program? Check the Magsafe plug. Is it melting? Do you have access to another charger to eliminate a bad charger? Does the orange charge light coming on or the green power adapter mode light? Have you unplugged the charger from the wall for about 60 secs. (if no lights, this resets charger) What are your energy saver preferences set to?
I have been dealing with this battery issue across three different machines. I think it is a time formatting issue with the software. Keep an eye on the clock. Most of my worst issues have always occurs when the battery is "Calculating Until Full" this can go on for a while unless I unplug the Magsafe or open energy saver. Just opening it not having to change any settings.

Tracking down who has deleted what journals in HFM

Hi all,
We used HFM v9.3.1. and some of our users are saying that a number of journals do not appear anymore under the "Process Journals" section when they are trying to run them. Apparently, last month, those journals were there but this month, they have somehow disappeared.
I have gone to the Administration > Task Audit screen but couldn't find any task filter which could tell me what journals have been deleted.
Even with the Journals Unposting task filter, there were not enough details\information against the records which were listed as I would have expected to see at least the name of the journal which were unposted as part of the list.
Is there a way to:
1. find out the list of journals which have been deleted in HFM?
2. find out the exact name of the journals which have been unposted in HFM?

There is no way to see which users deleted journals. This is not an activity that can be tracked currently with Task Audit. Data Audit only applies to input level changes in <Entity Currency> and does not apply to any of the adjustment nodes.
If this is an ongoing problem in your application, you can certainly prevent users from unposting journals -- only give them rights to create and post, so they must request a different user to unpost them. Also, you should know that any user granted the Administrator role cannot be restricted from anything in an application (except granting access to other users or making changes to access).
Another idea is to make use of process management so that once an entity has been approved that no one can change it, let alone unpost and then delete journals.
The placement of classes on journals is entirely an "honor system" idea since there is no security on the classes themselves. It may be possible for a user to create a journal that he himself has no access to.
I think in this case you have to invest time in asking your users, or put better controls into your security plan.

Choice of RAM - Kingston, Crucial, etc - Who's buying what for new iMac?

There are SOOOO many types of RAM to order - what success and failure have people had with these different types. I've only ordered RAM one time, 2 years ago and it was Crucial - worked very well.
For my new iMac, however, Crucial is sold out of 2GB modules and they don't list an 'in-stock' date.
So far pricing looks like this for 4GB (2GB x 2)
Crucial - $279.98
OWC - $229.99
Kingston (via Buy.com) - $281.98
There are others... like Patriot, PNY, Micron, etc... but I've never heard of most of them. What is everyone planning on using, or currently using and any suggestions??

Okay. I lost my phone last cuople of months it really meant allot to me it had my pictures of me when i was a baby, my bestfriends. Just every little picture means allot! I have my emergency numbers. Did you have Find My iPhone activated when you lost it? Did you log into iCloud to see if the device is located? When you messaged the phone last night, were you using an iOS Device, another iPhone, iPad or Mac computer? If you iMessaged, it would probably use your Apple ID instead of your phone number. Didn't you change all of your passwords, report the device missing to your carrier to allow them to blacklist it? You didn't log into iCloud to lock/wipe the phone?
