WHOH, .Me Alias(s) working on iPhone now?

I just sent an email from my iPhone (thought I was using a Gmail as the From account + my default account is the Gmail one) and it showed up on my Blackberry as from [email protected]
I did not send from web. I sent from my iPhone and the From address was the alias I setup at me.com to be my From address but it has never worked til' now.
Anyone else confirm this happening?

It appears that the 2.1 iPhone update fixed aliases in me.com and removed them in gmail.
Until the 2.1 upgrade, I happily was able to reply to messages on from my gmail account on the iPhone and they were sent using the default alias I'd set up in gmail. Now, everything goes out under the gmail.com address.
Does anyone know how to configure either the iPhone or gmail to let me use my alias?
