Very clean, very nice.
Nice options for paragraph & text... attaching files, list goes on.
Hopefully and especially new users will behave and do not screw up the clean look with bunch of useless smilies, signatures and useles stuff.
My Fear: If possible, please Adobe keep people away from using signatures of ANY kind, it would just mess up the enire clean structure of a thread.
I'm really not interested in nonsense pictures or funny text footers - move this completely to the profiles where people can mess up in their own flat -_-

I don't think that anyone is worried about letting Adobe transmit the contents of the Forums pages because obviously no-one would post material that they didn't wish other Users to see.
What is outrageous and egregious is Adobe laying claim to OWNERSHIP of anything posted on their sites and stating that they then have the right to use it for any purpose.
Clause 8 of the TOS reads:
8. Use of Your Content.
a. Adobe does not claim ownership of Your Content. However, except as provided in Section 8(b),
you grant Adobe a worldwide, royalty-free, nonexclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable license to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, publicly perform and publicly display Your Content (in whole or in part) and to incorporate Your Content into other Materials or works in any format or medium now known or later developed.
[Emphasis: mine]
This is simply outrageous Theft by stealth and look how upset Adobe gets when others pirate their intellectual property!
There is more to Clause 8 and then look at Clause 10!

It has been suggested that hosting our images on Pixentral or our own Servers will not protect our Rights either if we Link to those sites from Adobe's web sites.
This subject needs immediate clarification, and a rewrite of the TOS, by Adobe's Legal Department if Adobe do not want to destroy the effectiveness of the Photography and other Graphic Arts Forums.
If you haven't looked at the TOS recently, I suggest that you should do so for your own protection before posting any more of your valuable Copyright work in these Forums.

Procrastination at its Best.

Congradulations Verizon Technical Assistance and Intenet Forum Support Team. Verizon's addage "our goal is to resolve your problem on the very first call" is commendable, but only if Verizon intends to really resolve issues on the first telephone call. As is the case for this 20 plus year service Veteran who is also a paraplegic, I got hand it to the support team to procrastinate so long as to intentionally exceed it's so-called 30 day period in which the support team now states that they are willing to finally replace a defective DroidX, but only with a Refirbished DroidX, not a New phone. After requiring multiple trips to local Verizon Stores, which resulted in this veteran sitting in a wheelchair for hours on end while store managers repeatedly tested the same phone, only to also repeatedly note the existence of the sane initial issues, this veteran was also directed to speak to a sundry of both Verizon & Motorola Techs... which in of itself resulted jn many tech telephone calls for help ... many of the calls lasting in excess of 3 or more hours each with one call over 7 Hour. (yes you read correctly over 7 hours. ALL who, by the way, all agree there is a significant problem, THAT THE EQUIPMENT needs to be replaced and this veteran who is a paraplegic with issues that include limitations with my fingers typing, will have to re-enter all contact data, because of illadvised technical assistance that corrupted both data on phone and gmail. Congradulations on a job that creates doubt in refurbished equipment and questions the morality of not exercising better judgement when dealing with an disabled person. By the way, this fast customer service has just exceeded nearly four months and three replacements which techs have all identified as Defective equipment. As in the past, the techs again indicate that the equipment is defective. But this time Verizon insists on replacing with a previously defective phone and is creating a real lack in confidence that Verizon has in its own issued DroidX inventory. Which, by the way Verizon has already drastically reduced the selling price of the DroidX. I'm really looking forward to spending days & hours rebuilding my data base without any consideration or accountability for the numerous missdirections from technical service that caused the data corruption in the first place. How to keep mac at its best condition

My mac have been overheating quite easily and battery is running out quicker than before so im wondering if anyone can tell me how to keep my mac at its best condition. My mac is 2010 mid mac book pro

Overheating, is it the 13" model?
Is the fans racing even when your not doing much of anything?
Do a SMC Reset if it's that

I can't do anymore without some more detailed information, your Mac's model, the size etc.
If you installed 10.7 that would explain a lot, what's your RAM?
What programs did you install? Anti-virus? MacKeeper?

What where they thinking when this forum format was changed. Very hard to navigate and next to impossible to find answers to my posts. I guess I'll never churn these waters again.

You probably know this trick now, but if you add "/content" to the end of the URL in the Safari browser when you go to the Using iPad forum, you will get a more customized view that looks like this. The type that you see in bold letters indicates that another response has been added to that discussion. You can see the. Liked, Bookmarked, Number of responses icon (the speech bubble) and how many people have viewed the thread.
IF you tap on your avatar in the upper left corner, then tap on your username under the avatar in the window that pops up, you will be taken to a profile page where you can make several different selections. When I tap on Demo under the Steeler avatar in this screen shot that you see here.....
It takes me to this page where you can select from several different options. If you tap on the Content heading and then tap on Participated in the left column, you can follow the discussions that you have participated in. You can select the other options and experiment to see what they do as well.
If you long press on any of the headings, you can open those options in another tab and you can have different tabs open with the Using iPad page, your Activity Page, the Participated Content Page and tabs for any other forums that you participate in. I created a number of these pages and put them in a folder in my Safari bookmarks for easy access when I come back to the ASC forums.
I Don't like this new forum any more than you folks but this is what we have now and I am learning to make the best of it. There are so many bugs and things that were omitted that it's almost laughable that Apple would roll this site out like this. In any event, this should get you started, I hope.

For the average person what really is the point of the activity monitor app when all you really want to know is whether your mac is running at its best?

I have had my imac for nearly 18 months now,
It's okay, is the best I can say about it.
It cost me around £800+
So recently (and foolishly!) I downloaded OS Mavericks when I was actually looking for a freebie word processor programme (I got Bean because it's simple like me.)
Now the point of all this is that Mavericks has new features like a redesigned Safari (But I ain't noticed any difference yet) and Imaps (Huh!) and Ibooks and Imovie or something.
So when you are oldish like me, you really don't want people to keep changing and introducing new stuff (most of which is pointless anyway) all the time; because it takes us old ***** a while to get used to the last "improvement."
So you try and get rid of all these new apps that you don't want and didn't ask for anyway,
and then you find out you can't, because they're an integral part of the new OS.
Brilliant!
Then you find that Mail has to redo itself and this thing no longer works properly etc. and you start wishing you hadn't got up that morning...
So you try and get it all back the way it was..
And you can't.
Because you don't have an external hard drive to use the Time machine back up facility.
So you get in touch with Apple Support and it's now nearly bedtime, but at least you feel like you might be gettin' somewhere.
You talk to the supportguy and suddenly you can't remember what the problem is and what your name is, and you're thinking you might as well order in a pizza seein' as you've drunk the last of the gin..."
Anyway the guy manages to keep his temper and you get some degree of order restored but the machine still seems "jumpy" so someone says to you
"Check out the Activity Monitor! That'll tell you if something's not working right."
So you do, but it doesn't.
Just a bunch of numbers and CPU stuff and User Idiot Input etc.
All you really want is some little box to pop up and say,
"Hey! yyyou've really ssscrewed things upppp-p here, old mmmmman!!. This programme is no longer functioning properly, that thing appears to frozen, and you just wiped half your saved photos of Aunt Jessie's 94th birthday celebration (the one's where she had her eyes open)..

By this time you are on the floor, your leg's got cramp and you really really need a pee.
But there ain't no maintenance programme, just an activity monitor app you can't make any sense out of, so you yank the **** power cord out of the socket and go to bed..
So you try and

Is it best to upload HD movies from a camcorder to iMovie or iPhoto. iMovie gives the option for very large file sizes - presumably it is best to use this file size because the HD movie is then at its best quality?

Generally it is if you're comparing identical compressors & resolutions but there's something else happening here. If you're worried about quality degrading; check the original file details on the camera (or card) either with Get Info or by opening in QuickTime and showing info. You should find the iPhoto version (reveal in a Finder) is a straight copy. You can't really increase image quality of a movie (barring a few tricks) by increasing file size but Apple editing products create a more "scrub-able" intermediate file which is quite large.

A Practicle Scenario:
We have a customer with five regions, they have documents ( worddoc, spread sheets, bulletins etc). thinking a fresh implemetation which repository we can use to store documents, how to layout the folder structure, if i wouls like to show all the bulettins for particular week how can show.
1. On what basis we define the folder structure?
2. On what basis we define which doc has to go to whic folder?
3. Is there any rule to set authorizations to content?
4. Can we provide a message to all the employes saying a new bultin is published?
5. what are all the different kinds of document repositories available?
6. Is Content managment is just document storing or what are the different kinds of files we store (html and other web related)?
7.How can we enable search functionality?
8. Is there any best practise to implement KM?
Can you share your experiences and guideline on the above points it really helps me.

goto default framework page - toll area -- open -- property editor -- Enable KM Search -- YES
if u want advanced search also Enable KM Search Advanced - yes
and also u need to configure TREX with portal and to create index to search documents
what are all the different kinds of document repositories available?
WebDAV Repository this will create web-folders on your client so you can upload multiple documents to your portal
File System Repository this will point a Content Management folder to a mapped drive on the portal servers file system
Simple Web Repository this will upload the documents of a web site to your Content Management folder
Can we provide a message to all the employes saying a new bultin is published?
For these u can use recent notifications iview

it depends on ur requriment how to authorazations for end-users Eg: read or full access to folders

U can upload any type of document to Documents folder or u can create separate folder for each type

Preview on its own start saving some files and freezes

I was reading a book in preview and i did some highighting work in the ebook.
Preview started saving the document(showing increasing number of file saving 2,then 3.....so on it went till 8)
this actvity did not gave me any access to my document to scroll and study furthur and all of a sudden the fans started spining at the max speed,preview consuming at aroung 1.45gb of ram(i checked it from activity monitor)
as a result i had to force close preview
this proccess repeated everytime i opened the ebook(3-4 times i tried).
Can anyone help me out of this problem or i should think of adobe pdf reader rather than the preview.

On what computer configuration is Ultiboard running at its best?

I will soon upgrade to the latest Multisim Ultiboar Power pro version 10.1
And I wondered if I'd better upgrade my PC as well, it is 4 years old now, and the current Ultiboar version (10.0, full edition) blocks from time to time, even crashes a few times a day.
I allready switched off the realtime DRC check... I always happens when laying traces in 'follow' mode (CTRL-T) but never in Line mode (CTRL-SHIFT-L).
I could upgrade to a dual core PC, or add some memory in the current PC,
I just want to be sure that I can run with this PC for the next five years.
What configuartion, what operating system , should I use for the future?

The minimum system requirements for the Circuit Design Suite are stated in the release notes which you can find here:

These requirements are the minimum requirements necessary to get a good experience when using multisim/ultiboard. To get the most out of it, it is strongly advised to have a more powerfull pc.
Since your computer is about 4 years old, I suspect you will be somewhere in the range just above the minimum requirements. As computer hardware evolves this fast, it might be more interesting to get a complete new pc, rather then upgrading.
In general: The faster your system is, the better it will run, the better your experience with the program will be, but also the more expensive the system will become. As long as you stay above the minimum requirements however, you should be fine.
Considering the OS: At the moment, companies are not really tending to upgrade to Vista, so you should be fine with XP for now. It will probably depend on the succes of windows 7 what the future will bring on this behalf.

The Apple discussions are a fantastic resource, of course... but what other good forums are out there for Logic? I participate on bigbluelounge and Sonikmatter, but both of these forums are not very active. There are posts on the front page that are from months ago. How can I get the application "Preview" back? I tried using both the cds that were given and I googled it and it still doesn't work. I still have "Preview" but its corrupted so it doesn't let me open any pics or anything. What can I do?

It also won't delete off my computer for me to try downloading it again. I don't know what to do.

Download this shareware program, it will allow you to "peek" inside the pkg and dmg files of your OS X installer disk that comes with the computer so your can replace the copy of Preview with a new one.

and it might not be your Preview program itself, rather the preference file it uses.
Look in your "username"/Library/Preferences folder for these three files and move them to your desktop, reboot and relaunch Preview

They get rebuilt automatically. Check to see, if so and everything is fine, then Trash the 3 files on the desktop

I have the same problem and interest in a solution. I am experimenting with
buffer sizes and task scheduling to see how fast and for how long a continuous
acquisition can work.
