Why a new 1.5 JRE?
Just a little something to argue about...
Why does Java 1.5 need an entirely new JRE? The bytecode specification hasn't changed as far as I'm aware. 3 possible reasons could be
1. New native code for things like NIO
2. New types of garbage collection schemes... Don't know. Has this changed?
3. Updates + bug fixes to previously released classes
Isn't there some better way that this update could be done without having to download the entire thing all over again? You know, like projects that have a source code repository accessible over the internet?
The JRE is the JVM plus all the thousands of classes
in the Java API, isn't it? No change in the bytecode
spec might imply no change in the JVM but that's all.Very true.
I don't really know that I'm arguing for these things, just trying to spark a little conversation about
1. Separation between jvm & libraries
2. 'Smart' version upgrades where only the changed classes need to be downloaded
However, now that I'm thinking about it some more, I think it is definitely a good idea that java maintain the idea of platform versions, so that people don't start trying to mix old and new versions of Java classes, as that strikes me as inherently unstable. Plus it could seriously complicate object serialization.

The first thing i saw after i install new version of iTunes, it showed only music files. I don't know where to look for the old version of Sidebar. I keep on trying to look for it where I can see or any sign off button just to show up this stupid SideBar. Also, why i couldn't find? The "Menu Bar" is also hide!
Until i found out in "View" tab. Then i saw the Show Sidebar. Question? why do you need to hide that Side Bar? For what?. it is so so so complicated specially to those people who can't relate for this. (Also the button (from previous iTunes) to show the Album Art, now it's gone. I check every Tab, but there's no way to see the Album Art.)
Another comment. I download also some of my songs to my iPod, I wasted my time to collect all of my favorite music files. Also some are came from CD's and friends. I had all that favorite music in my iPod. Then the version iOS 5.+ came then I updated my iPod, another options to save files (iCloud) but I think there are something that I MISS about updating my iPod. Then suddenly I checked my iPod... all music (with Album Arts) are gone. All Apps are Gone. Videos as well.
If you don't know how to use that iCloud (with only 5GB storage), you'll gonna miss/lost everything.
Then I start all over again, i still have my BACK UP, good to have that. Now it's all set until I update the latest iOS 6. And another version of iTunes.
Then I realized my computer getting slow. I uninstalled it. My laptop started to work fast again. Then I download again the iTunes. So now I know, it has the ability to slow my computer. Everytime I turn on my iTunes, it hang. (Not Responding). Solution... CTRL+ALT+DELETE. Then every second time to open the iTunes, and it works. (it means, to open iTunes, need twice)
Then suddenly my laptop is not working. All my files has been corrupted. My Hard drive doesn't work properly. Now I don't have any stupid BACK UPs. My music files usage is 18 GB, only contacts, documents, notes, or some other files that can only fit to your "iCloud" not my 18GB music files and other photos. Your solution is to BUY more storage. Another COST! Another wasting time to set everything then need to pay more?
If you let your unit (iPod,iPhone,iPad) to export music to PC, or any mini SDcard to use as storage, it won't happen.
There is another....
It has Bluetooth, right?
Use less! Doesn't work. There's no way to use it.
All I need is to install an application to use your bluetooth. (for same unit or Apple unit only). And pictures only can send via Bluetooth if you an application.
Even if you go to "Photos" check if there's a way to send pictures? there is no way to send via Bluetooth, even Photos, Songs.etc. It can't even share some other friends (even they have own iPad, iPod, iPhone or same products) who has a unit with Bluetooth.
And the last.. only one port. there's no way to watch videos through HDMI. No HDMI port, no SD or any card slot. Must to buy their products.
Very costly!
I know (like iPod) it's very friendly to use it, but you must spend more money first before it can use.Yes, the old album art view is gone, bu you can see the album art for a song that's playing by clicking on the art image and it will open a bigger view.
Everything else in your post is a waste. I'm not going to spend time reading it. If - and I repeat if, you have a question on how to get the best out of the new look iTunes, post it. But don't spend your time in long rambling negative rants. -

On selecting full screen using the expand arrows in the video control panel in Safari 5.1.9 & OS 10.6.8; Trailer will expand to full screen and the screen will go black, but on selecting play there is no image or sound exept a faded outline of the edge of the Trailer frame that runs off screen and does not play.

Data.SetValue(FormatDouble.DecodeDouble(self.PKg));
use
Data.SetValue(FormatDouble.DecodeDecimal(self.PKg,Data.Scale)); //
This will take the second parameter of scale
You will see the desired results.

Simply put, the problem stems from the fact that
floating-point arithmetic is inherently imprecise.
Rounding errors are common.
With doubles, you get 16 digits of accuracy. Beyond
that there is no guarantee.

Why is "New Volume From Layers" Greyed Out? (PS CS5 Extended)
OK here's what I've tried, based on forum research:
1. Make sure two layers are selected.
2. Deleted PS CS5 preferences (using Shift+Ctrl+Alt method) - tried twice.
3. Checked that my video card is supported (it is).
Yet this menu item continues to be greyed out - I'd appreciate any suggestions to get it working!
I cannot find out how this menu item is meant to be used as there seems to be no article in Adobe Help.

In that case how does this guy get it to work with TWO layers http://www.planetphotoshop.com/3d-light-beams.html and also the demo from MAX2010 - maybe he was bluffing?
And two vector paths is normally enough to interpolate a 3D volume in any 3D modeller I've ever used. So the "minimum of 3 paths" is simply not true.
So, I'm left with the question why is "New Volume" from layers greyed out?

I cannot find the unread message despite having opened all my inbox messages and wonder why the new messages are no longer in bold text.
Right click the folder, select properties and then the repair button. A new index might clear it.
If not try
View menu > folders > unread see if Thunderbird can find it since it says it is there after an index rebuild. -
My 4th generation shuffle will not play podcasts, even though they show as loaded on the legend on the left on the itunes site. The shuffle is set to play everything in order. The type on the content is gray, thats strange. And why the new annoying content format?

No. The problem is that when you changed Apple IDs you did not update your Apple ID to reflect the change, so your phone is still associated with the old ID. You will need to un-associate it. The process is the same as what you would do if you sold the phone. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5661

It's normal for the iPad or any similar device to get warm when it's under heavy load. If it gets too warm, it will shut itself off and show a disabled message.
Take a look at this Apple doc -> Phone, iPad, and iPod touch (4th generation): Keeping device within acceptable operating temperatures
If you believe it's hotter than normal, make a reservation with a Genius. -

Sorry for not responding sooner, I support your position completely - as for the external drive I assumed that the individual was a previous mac user and knew about that (my mistake) at home I have a couple of external drives
one drive is acknowledged regardless of format (mac/win) its a partitioned drive.... the other one - far as the mac is concerned does exist when i connect it. I believe its a win only drive (will have to check the specs on it) but it works on the win-notebooks.
so my point of reference was coming that perspective, with no additional posts I have to assume you had the correct answer. have a great day. -
