Why all files deleted under "\reports_ids\web" after restart OC4J

all my jsp files are deleted after any restart of OC4J and when i want to run my jsp report i have to copy jsp files again under "reports\j2ee\reports_ids\web" what i do to solve this problem .

Why does ical automatically delete information on calendar after eight months or so? Why doesn't data which has been inserted on calendar remain on the relevant dated calendar? (Apart from actually saving or backing up calendar).

How are your settings in iCal preferences set?
iCal-->Preferences-->Advanced-->Delete events __ days after they have passed.

All Desktops go to primary monitor after restart

I'm seeing interesting behavior where all of my desktops end up on the primary monitor after restart. Kind of annoying.

Turning Automatic Login OFF seems to have solved it for me.
1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Users & Groups, then click Login Options.
2. If the options are dimmed, click the lock icon to unlock it, then type an administrator name and password.
3. Choose Off from the “Automatic login” pop-up menu.

New computer ff install not listing all file types under tools-options-applications

New windows installation on another with the same version of ff (10.0.2). Clicking local .pls files in this machine gives option to launch VLC media player but on other computer just text appears.
The extension appears in the applications tab after clicking tools and options on this computer, but the list is far shorter on the other machine and does not include this extension. Is this rectified by installing a plugin? If so which one?

The issue isn't that VLC isn't playing the files- it is... but linking to the files saved on my system does not launch VLC from Firefox on the other computer like it does on this one. I've actually been able to add to the applications list. Technically I can run the same apps and associations on both machines except that Firefox isn't handling the ".pls" files at all with the other machine
I've saved a directory structure with .pls files to different streaming radio stations and the directory is linked to from Firefox on both computers... identical directories and files stored. When I bring up one of the folders in this machine and click on the file, I first get the same dialog as you attached- I launch VLC by selecting "Open with" then clicking OK. The radio station plays. I've set it to change stations when I click within the iframe without having to go to VLC and use the open media feature- it does the trick with a single click from Firefox,
The other machine when I click the file the iframe in which the directory was displayed shows text information (urls and other arcane digital nonsense) as though the file were a text file. Both machines have similar installations.... I do not want to overload on the other machine- it's my communications backup but I would like this arrangement to work as it does on this computer.
Again, the biggest hint I see is the absence of the ".pls" file type in the list under the "applications" tab after clicking "Tools"-"Options" in Firefox on the machine in question.
Can something be done either by transplanting missing files from one machine to the next or from about:config to induce the desirable result from the other machine in Firefox?

I need some help before my girlfriend kills me...
I just reinstalled windows in my PC with the latest iTunes.
I connected my GF's iPod to it and, while syncing, it gave me the error message that the machine wasn't authorized to sync the purchased songs. I hit OK, entered my username and password, and the authorization was accepted.
I then clicked on the iPod icon in order to sync it, and to my surprise all songs were deleted!!!
Why did it happen (I don't want it to happen again...) and is there a way to fix it???
Does Apple keep a record of my purchases so I can download them again?
I know many of these questions are probably around the site, my my GF is freaking out and I don't have much time to search.

The policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage."
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and explain your circumstances, you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. How do I get iTunes U to play all files, right now it stops after each audio file and I will have to manually select the next one.

I am unable to find a way to get iTunes U to play all audio files one after the other without me manually playing each one of them.

Best I've managed is to create a smart playlist in iTunes with the album set to the title of the course. Have the smart playlist update automatically so that any new postings from the course are included within the playlist. After that you should be able to play the playlist and have all the audio files play one after the other. Hope it helps!

You can't install Snow Leopard Remotely. Think about it.
What you could do - and assuming you have OSX Server - is install 10.6 on one mac, get it fully up to date, install the remaining applications - assuming site licenses - use the System Image Utility on the Server (or a Client with the application installed) to create a NetBoot Image of that built workstation. Image the rest using OSX Server's NetBoot Service. I've done numerous site installations using OSX Server and NetBoot (60 and more individual workstations) in a day or two depending on the Software installed.

Apart from the initial OS install - Yes. You can install incremental OS Updates using ARD easily and quickly. Again if you have OSX Server you can utilise it's Software Update Service to achieve the same thing quickly and easily.
If you don't have OSX Server you can by all means do this the way you're saying. You don't even need to use SuperDuper - why pay for something that can be done for free with what's already supplied? All you need is a firewire cable, target disk mode and the Restore option in Disk Utility. The more firewire cables you have the sooner you'll get it done.
It does not really matter what you're using for your Network although a Time Machine Capsule is adequate enough.

Finder hang after file delete NTFS Samba share after 10.6.7

I have Finder problem!
Before 10.6.7, I had no issue with a Samba share on win2008 server, I have full admin rights for the files.
Now, I can move the files, change the Directory they are into another, rename them, basically I can do what ever I want with them, except deleting them.
As soon as I try to delete a file or folder, Finder hangs, And I can't stop the process, killing the network connection does nothing, trying to unmount it wont work either.
Any clues? Suggestions?

I have tightened up to the problem to the ds_store invisible files.
If the folder that has a ds_store file in it and you trash it, it freezes up the mac. (For some reason not most files)
But after the freeze, the folder permissions get corrupted (or changed maybe not sure) then trashing doesn't work again.
But if you view the invisible ds store files and delete it you can trash the folder.

All files deleted off iPod...

Ok so i got an 80GB iPod and I spent about two hours or so loading all the music on the device. I got new Cd's and i put them in the itunes library. Now i ended up unchecking all of the other Cd's to put just the new ones on instead of waiting for all the cds to load again. what ended up happening is that all the files got deleted off my iPod. Do i just have to leave them all checked in iTunes? Any help would be great...

now all I get on my ipod is a folder with the exclamation mark on it... which im guessing means something is now missing off my ipod software wise.

My email was recenlty hacked with all files deleted and likely stolen... Is there someone at APPLE to discuss this with?

The hackers got into my iCloud accound and forwards all emails to a bogus adress with my name with the letter "z" at the end at a site called "live.com." All incoming emails were leteted.
An email to all my contacts was sent saying I was in the pHillipines and needed money - bit it gave no address to send me any assistance. I assume these emails contained viruses and maybe so-called "trojan horses" to infect the systems f my contacts.
The hackers also somewho deleted and lilely stole almost all the archived emails I have saved - and there were a lot of these - so I am extrmely concerned.
I have not been able to find an live person (even through myapple.com") who could give me any detailed advise on all the tings I need to do now. I have done many things of course including subscribing to an identity theft service, changing all passwords, opening a new email account not related to APLLE, downlpwading something called MacScan and doing a thourough spyware chanecl, usine the data encryption and firewall options that APPLE provides (and I had not used) etc.
By I was wondering if there is anything else I need to do: Is there a detailed manual somewhaere?
I am stunned that some emails of an innocuous nature - like the ones in my TRAVEL folder - were not seleted or stolen whilce the rest were - what does this mean?
Also: Can I trust MacScan software - is there a better source software package to consider?

You have pretty much done everything that you can do. You can call AppleCare and ask to be transferred to the Account Security team to set up new security questions for your Apple ID if your iCloud account is the same.
Not sure what you are referring to with MacScan. In this case the people who got into your account probably did not hack through your computer they somehow learned what your password was.

How to create separate log files for each deployed web application in oc4j

I am using Windows2000, Oracle9iAS(OC4J). Say I have deployed 3 web applications onto this oc4j server. Then how to create 3 different log files so that I can see the log messages(System.out.println's) of each of these web appliations in a different log file.

Where do the messages printed via ServletContext.log() go? Is this configurable separately by web application? If so, you could at least replace your System.out.println() with sc.log() statements. For exceptions, you could trap them and log them since the log() method takes a throwable as well as a String.

Restoring all running programs and opened windows after restart.

Is it possible to automatically restore upon logging in all applications, opened windows and documents running before a reboot of Leopard? It's rather convenient, especially when I have to reboot after an update of the system while working on a dozen of windows. Currently I have to relaunch them all one by one. It is a default feature of KDE, BTW.

This is a bit too close to a message I'm familiar with that can indicate a hijack on the PC. So just in case I think we'd better try a malware scan.
Try downloading and installing the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware. Update your MBAM definitions and then run a full scan of the PC. (Takes about 2 hours on my Lenovo.)

Why wont my ibook save my settings after restart?

i have a snow ibook g3 power pc 500mhz, 256mb of ram, 15gb hdd, os x tiger. this is my first mac, i plan on using it as training wheels before i go out and get a macbook air. i have tis problem where i make changes to the dock, short name, time and date, and my wallpaper. every time i restart all of my changes get reseted to what they were before. the only thing that doesnt change is my account name, and when i try to change my short name in finder next to that house thing, it tells me "this name is already in use" though there is no other account. this is really frustrating because i plan on using this wonderful machine when i go back to school, but i want it to be perfect; or very close to. im some what computer savvy, but not when it comes to os x. im using a windows 7 hp and i want to make the switch but i need help.
