My ringer is no longer working for text and email notifications. Only working for phone calls. I have gone through all the settings to see where something is off. Not finding anything. I have tried changing the tone and it just vibrates on everything.
Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

Why can't I set my downloaded .dm ringtones as text and email notifications?
I have an HTC Incredible 2; I paid for and downloaded several ringtones from the Verizon store, two of which I wanted to specifically use as the text and email notification sounds. I then had the already discussed problem of not being able to find the newly downloaded ringtones immediately, but from the postings on here and the Adriod forums, I followed the directions to set up the folders titled Ringtones, Notifications, and Alarms on my sdcard, and moved the downloaded ringtones into their respective folders. When I opened up the Personalize menu, under Sounds I was immediately able to find the ringtones I'd placed in the ringtone folder, but my phone wouldn't recognize the ringtons I'd placed in the Notifications folder.
I downloaded the app Zedge, downloaded specific Notification sounds (.mp3, and they work). I also downloaded .mp3 ringtones and then moved them into the Notifications folders, and THAT worked. The problem seems to be that these are .dm files? Is my phone unable to read .dm files as Notification sounds? Or is there something I missed? Something else I can do?
I looked all over for software that will convert .dm files to .mp3, found a suggestion calling for the deletion of a couple of the lines of code from within the .dm file using Notebook ++, but that didn't work. I don't remember seeing anywhere in the store that these ringtone files come in the protected .dm filetype; that many players will not be able to play them, and that I won't be able to use them for notification sounds?
Ay one have any suggestions? Verizon: am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance for any help.Usually when you purchase ringtones from the Verizon store, you can only use them as ringtones. Since you have a smartphone, an app would be the best bet. You can find almost any song you're looking for in a free ringtone app, there's no need to purchase them.

Dropped my phone in water. Sound and vibrations are working but screen won't turn on. I can see a little water in the camera. I currently have the phone in a bag of rice. HELP! :)
Leave it in the rice for 6 or 7 days changing rice even couple of days.
If after that it still doesn't work take it to Apple and purchase an out of warranty rteplacement for it. -
I've had issues before with upgrades and now I was skeptical of doing the latest upgrade.
10.7.1..... **** I've got the latest ios and it's messed my contacts up. Sticking all emails and removing some business contacts numbers so it's been a night mare to run for the last week or so. I don't even see which is important calls or not I just get "no number."
Anyone know a work around or must I wait for the next "upgrade/fix"?
Andrew1. Purchase your new hard drive and an external enclosure.
2. Put your new hard drive in the external enclosure.
3. Connect the external hard drive to your mac (FW or USB).
4. Use Carbon Copy Cloner (http://www.bombich.com/) to clone your internal drive to the external drive.
5. Take the new hard drive out of the external enclosure.
5. Open your computer, pull the hard drive out of your Mac.
6. Put the new hard drive into your mac. Close it up. Turn it on. It should boot right up.
7. Put your smaller drive in the external enclosure and use it for backup, extra storage or whatever. -

Some ISPs send a copy of all emails sent to the sender for some reason or is your problem different to this.

I lost my Notes on my iPhone 4S. I had them and all of a sudden there are no Notes on my phone. It happened when I was backing up my husband's phone to our laptop. How do I get them back?
I posted this almost a month ago, I'm surpirsed noone else had had this issue...
I don't sync that often (yeah, I know, crusify me), but tonight I went to synchronise again and I got a different photo that wont come over....
In addition to the above:
- the photos are taken with the same camera, on the same date and time as other photos around it...
So "why is it now no longer compatible with iphone4?"????
If I unsync a photo, it just gives me a new photo it can't sync.
Can anyone tell me how to find ALL the photos it can't sync? This is a serious deficiency of iphoto/itunes/sync with iphone... -

No, I don't work for Apple. I've been in IT for over 20 years including telecom and consulting.
I'm on AT&T. The problem is not universal or even necessarily widespread on AT&T. If you're having issues, it is not a system wide problem. There can be interchange problems between networks from time to time and there can be problems within the AT&T network. If you have a phone, iPhone or otherwise that works today, there is no reason it shouldn't work next week if you don't make changes to it. The only reasons it wouldn't would be a hardware or software failure on the handset or problems on the carrier side. If there is 1 person with a problem. It's the handset. If there are 10... depends on the sample size. If there are 100, then you can bet your boots it's the carrier.
I've worked with AT&T a LOT during my career. Believe me, if you don't know the tricks, the person you get on the phone when you call about a problem like this has absolutely no idea what is wrong or if there is even a problem to begin with. Their sole purpose in life is to give you the warm fuzzies and make you go away. -
The other day I was writing an essay while listening to my iTunes. Then all of a sudden, the power of my house went out. When we finally got power back, and I was able to open up itunes, over 700 songs of mine were deleted. When I looked in the trash, I saw two things labled "iTunes library extras", and "iTunes library genius". When I tried opening them, it said that I needed to open them with an application, and that I needed to chose one. I chose iTunes. When I tried double clicking on "iTunes library extras" after this, all it did was open up iTunes. Nothing else. Someone please help me because I had a lot of songs that I liked, and recently downloaded. And it will be a pain to get them all back if no one can help me.
Are the files still physically on your HD?
[User]/Music/iTunes/Media/Music is the default location. Unless you suddenly have a bunch of new "free space" on your hard drive, they're still where they were, you just need to create a new library file. -
All of a sudden my iTunes stopped working, and I get the following error messages:
1. the program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem
and
2. iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126).
Now I've checked the forums and followed the advice of uninstalling all Apple applications, rebooting, and reinstalling iTunes.
This is not working. I've tried installing as Administrator but doesn't make any difference at all.
There must be a way to fix this? I'm not a tech geek but I want to avoid having to take my laptop back to factory settings to sort this out.
ThanksClick here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

When starting Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 I am all of a sudden getting a message that says "One or more of the scratch disks don't have read/ write access" and now the app won't operate - how do I fix this so I can use Final Cut Pro?
Glad you found the answer. But something seems wrong. FCP should be able to assign the scratch disk to your startup drive. It's not advisable, but it should be possible. You might want to try and figure out what's going on before what ever's going on cause other problems.
