Why am I always getting prompted for my wireless password on my MacBook?
MBP 17" running 10.6.4
The work wireless is WPA Enterprise -- PEAP (MSCHAPv2) is what it's showing right now.
When it comes out of sleep, it prompts me for my password to authenticate wireless.
It doesn't ask me when I come up from power off.
I don't understand this behavior.
My iPhone (iOS 3.1 and now 4.0) never ask me after the first time so I cannot see this as being a security issue. After all, just reboot my laptop and you're in (I have auto login turned on).
Rather, if this is a security thing, it's not helpful or consistent.
Either way, how can I get it to not prompt me? The password is already on my keychain.
Hi
Have a look at the solution suggested here:

Hope it will help.

Hello! 1st post here,
How can I backup iPhone A to iTunes and then restore into iPhone B without getting prompted for a backup password that I do no know or remember ever setting?
To clarify, I am not trying to read an encrypted backup. I would like to make a NEW backup but I do not want it to be encrypted as I do not know nor remember how a password was set in the 1st place. If I unclick the encryption checkbox, I am prompted to enter the password. Defeats the purpose of clicking on the box, no?
Thanks,
HenryHave you tried deleting the encrypted back up?

II'd like her to get a prompt to Ask Permission only. Most children can't remember complex passwords. Kids don't have any CC info so I don't see the need for a password prompt every time. It should be an option at least, since I'm sure some young kids will press install/buy on everything and spam the parents with requests!
This is not a feature request site. Use Apple Feedback instead.

Why do I get prompted for permission to delete files or change file names?
One of several users (my wife) on our iMac has recently started getting prompted for the administrator password to delete, rename or perfrom other operations on files in her home directory. I suspect a corrupt set of user configurations files. How can I fix this?
Remove the ACLs from files/folders in her home folder. Log in to an admin account and enter the following in Terminal:
sudo chmod -R -N ~wife
(where "wife" is your wife's account's short name) -
SAP R/3 -- Not getting prompted for password on Heterogeneous Sys. Copy
Thank you in advance. I am part of a project team that is testing the potential of moving from UNIX (AIX 5.3) to Linux (RHEL 4 or 5). We are running SAP R/3 on IBM P570 with DB2 v9.1 and when we run this program: Installation master sapinst
We are not getting prompted for the user password but when we run the same cd on a different system we get prompted for the user's password. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what is wrong? If you need more info let me know.
Thanks,

Well I have checked all the logs and there are no errors. What I have found out is that it successfully runs but there is 0 ouput, in essence it isn't exporting any data.
Here it shows that it completed successfully but in the export directory there isn't data when there should be.

Repeatedly prompted for air play password?
At work I am repeatedly prompted to enter a password for Air Play though I've never even setup an Air Play password. This just started happening to me recently and is random.....some days it never pops up and days like today It's popped up multiple times. Very frustrating.
Hello leavitt050,
It may help to force close all open apps and reset your device.
Force an app to close in iOS
http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT5137
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1430
If you're still getting prompted for an AirPlay password, the next step would be to reinstall iOS on your device by placing it in Recovery Mode, then choosing Update in iTunes.
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on

Word 2010 prompts for username and password when opening a document on trusted website
Hi Guys,
We have a website (not sure if the site is a sharepoint site) on our trusted domain that asked for username and password when trying to access it. I added the site to our trusted sites zone and this resolved the issue however when I try to open word documents
I get prompted for usernames and password again if I cancel the credentials box the document opens with no issues.
Below is some of the steps i have taken
- Tried opening other non office documents (e.g. PDF, JPEG) and they open with no issues
- Tried to opening the word documents with a system that only had word pad install and not Office 2010 and the documents open with no issues so it looks like it's an office 2010 problem
Can you please advise how I can resolve this issue and if this is a client issue or an issue on the web server thanksHi,
This issue is caused by the Office suit itself. When Internet Explorer opens an Office document, the appropriate Office application is started with the path of the document. The Office application then tries to access the document directly from
the server. This differs from other browsers and other file types. Most browsers download the file and call the application to open the file from the local cache. However, when this occurs, if the opened file is changed and saved,
the changes are only made to the local copy and not to the server copy.
To establish the richest experience possible, the first thing that the Office application does is communicate with the server to determine the server type and what web authoring protocol is available. The application does this by making
an OPTIONS request directly to the server.
As a new process accessing the server, the Office application is required to renegotiate authentication. This method is more secure than a method in which the new process uses an existing authentication that was established by the browser.
Please try the following methods:
An alternative with full functionality but with a calculated risk
Client approaches that can reduce the impact
Alternative configurations when the web server does not support DAV or reduced functionality is acceptable

When I updated apps on my ipad2 and iphone4S I used to get prompted for my password within a certain time. So I could update a couple and then 10 minutes later if I wanted to download or update something else I would need to put in my password again. Since I upgraded to iOS6, I don't believe I am prompted for my password the same amount of times. I updated an app this am after not using iPad through the night and it just updated, no password required. This has me concerned now because sometimes I bump buttons by accident and now I will be charged for these accidents. What has happened to Apple's brilliant security?
They've changed it in iOS and updates (and updates ONLY) do not require a password since it is really unnecessary as they have it on record that you were the one who bought the app. Why is more security needed, you aren't going to be charged for anything?
Next time you update and app go to the App Store and try to buy something. You will be asked for your password. -
Why do i always get the Japanese version of JRE/JDK?
why do i always get the Japanese version?
i am in tokyo and i just want to get the English version of JRE and JDK. Why is it so difficult, I have been trying for the last 8 hours to find mirrors and other versions and installing all of them only to see they are all in Japanese and I don't know why. I checked my settings, my local language is German or English, i.e. not Japanese, and always I install it it's in Japanese and afterwards I get the compiler messages in Japanese and I don't understand them.
And then... why is it so difficult to make a comment at sun? i have been to ibm's page and google, you just fill out a form send it, it takes 5 secs, here it takes 20 minutes to find where you can ask a question, then some more to fill out the questionaire...
could you pls tell me where to get the US/english version for jre 1.4.2.x and jdk 1.4.2.x?You probally ARE getting the english version. If you are using a japanese version of windows or an english version of windows with the locale setting set to Japan then all of the menus (including the installer) will be displayed in japanese. So it just seems like you are installing a japanese version.
To check your local in windows 2000 go to the control panel and then choose regional options. Then, select the general tab and change your locale to one of the English locales. Also, if you want to keep your locale setting set to Japan there are other workarounds. However, first try this. -
Family sharing - kids get prompt for their iTunes account password for each purchase they make
so I have Family Sharing setup for my wife and kids.
My kids all have their own iCloud setup and the App/iTunes store is also logged in as themselves. (They don't have any CC info entered.)
My problem here is that when my 5 year old wants to download/purchase anything she gets a prompt for her AppleID password.. why is that when I'm the one who has to approve all purchases/download before anyways? This system doesn't seem to be "that" kid friendly when they have to enter a complex password every time they want to download/purchase anything.
Am I missing something? Is there a setting somewhere to disable or save password prompts for the App/iTunes store?Have a look here...

why do i always get "cannot connect to itunes" whenever i update my apps or buy anything from the store while my ipod can download? it has thesame email user
I use only one Apple ID and only one ID. I did have to change the password at one point but I had no issues at all with updating apps after I changed the password.
If you can download new apps with the ID that you changed the password for, I would think that you will be able to update apps associated with that ID as well.
Did you try restarting the iPad after signing out of the one account and then sign in to the other account/accounts? -
How do I change my iCloud Account email? I keep getting prompted to enter a password associated with an old email account I no longer use. I do not have the password for it. How do I change my iCloud Account?
You can't delete an existing account, you can only choose to stop using it. It will still be there should you decide to use it again in the future.

Help: New owner of my iPhone getting prompted for my iTunes account.
My wife is now using my old computer and iPhone 3g.
1. In iTunes on the PC, she is logged in.
2. iTunes says she has one app to upgrade.
3. Clicking upgrade, iTunes then shows her account name and says there are no apps to upgrade.
4. Go back to iTunes home page and it says she has one app to upgrade.
5. My account is actually the account with 1 app to upgrade.
1. On the iPhone, under settings she is listed as the current account.
2. Try to buy an app from the app store and she gets prompted for my App store account.
Has anyone seen this before? I'm at a loss as to how the two accounts are intermingled like this. Everywhere I look she is listed as the active account. But as soon as an upgrade or purchase is attempted it goes back to my account.
Thank you in advance,
GaryYou can do this on your iPad or iPhone - please see Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner’s account - Apple Support (which is written from the point of view of the new owner).
