Why am I asked to join a WiFi network every time i open my computer?

Why I am asked to join a WiFi network every time I open my computer?

Make sure your Mac is up to date with all Apple Software Updates.
Then:
Go to System Preferences > Network. Select Wi-Fi or AirPort from the left column. Click the Advanced... button.
Under the Preferred Networks list, select every Wi-Fi network that appears, including the one you want to use, and delete every one using the "–" (minus) button. Select the box "Remember networks this computer has joined" if it is not already selected.
OK then Apply.
Select your wireless network in your Mac's Wi-Fi menu, provide your wireless network password, and determine if that solves its connection problems.
If the above does not resolve the problem, follow the steps in these Apple Support documents:
OS X: Wi-Fi: How to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity

  • I am having an issue with my MacBook Pro. My Wi-Fi no longer connects automatically so I have to join my home network every time I start my computer.

My home network is at the top of my preferred network list. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

It may depend on the plugin that is loaded into your browser. However, right click on a PDF and select the Open With option and go to the default button to select Acrobat as the default. That might do it.

  • Why does my final cut pro is not responding every time I open it????!!!!!!

why does my final cut pro is not responding every time I open it?

As you give no background info nobody can possibly guess.
However, have you tried trashing the preferences?
Many weird things happen as a result of corrupt preferences which can create a vast range of different symptoms, so whenever FCP X stops working properly in any way, trashing the preferences should be the first thing you do using this free app.
    http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
Shut down FCP X, open PreferenceManager and in the window that appears:-
    1. Ensure that only  FCP X  is selected.
    2. Click Trash
The job is done instantly and you can re-open FCP X.
There is absolutely no danger in trashing preferences and you can do it as often as you like.
The preferences are kept separately from FCP X and if there aren't any when FCP X opens it automatically creates new ones  .  .  .  instantly.

  • Why does iphoto 11 tell me to update library every time i open it?

why does iphoto 11 tell me to update library every time i open it?
    iPhoto '11 OSX 10.8.5
I open iphoto and I get the message
"the Photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto"
I click upgrade and after a few seconds the photos show fine, the application works correctly.
then I quit the app. and reopen and i get the same message and the same results.
this was happening before I did a complete erase of the Macbook Pro and install of Mt Lion
    upgraded from lion.
only thing thats the same is the computer and the library I restored.
    RT

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Why my screen picture changes every time I open my computer even if I've made a choice for a screen picture

    Hi,
I've just bought (September 13 2013) an Mac Pro retina screen 15 inch. and I have a problem with my screen picture.  Even if I've made a choice for my screen desk without indicating to change it, each time I opened my computer the screen changes.  It's not normal and I want to know why I have that problem.
    Many thanks

  • Why do i have to keep typing in the password to my wifi network every time i get home

on my phone i have to connect to the wifi network everytime i get home

Try resetting your router, unplug it wait for 1 - 2 minutes and plug it back in.  Wait a few minutes for it to connect to your provider and download the latest IP addresses etc.
Go into your phone's wifi settings and forget your wifi network.  Reconnect to it so that you get the latest IP addresses in your phone.  Go into the settings on your phone for your network (Tap the blue arrow to open it up) Set the proxy setting to Automatic not off or manual.
Apple has done something wonky to wifi in iOS 6.0 and 6.0.1.  Hopefully they will have it fixed in 6.1 when it comes out soon.
I had a similar problem and this process worked for me.  Now when I walk into my house my iPhone and iPad both connect to my home wifi network with no problems.
    Hope it works for you.

or you can "touch" your web.xml file.
touch web.xmlor that command is for *nix systems, not sure what the Windows command is.  But basically, when you edit the web.xml, even if it means updating the last modified time, it will restart only your application and you should see the changes.

  • Installed Java - Terminal now opens automatically every time I open my computer. I deleted Java 7 application, but now terminal still pops up. Why? How can I get it to stop?

I installed Java 7. Suddenly, Terminal bounced open every time I logged into my computer after that + the program I needed to run with Java didn't work, so I uninstalled Java 7. I have no Java, but Terminal bounces open - still. It never did before. I need the old version of Java to run my grading program, but I'm afraid to install Java 6 because I don't want anything new to "bounce" in. If I install Java 6 will it get rid of this Terminal application from bouncing in and will the Java 6 work?

I already looked into that - "open at login" was not checked. Thank you though.

  • Why does aperture 2.1.4 change my screensaver every time I open it?

Aperture 2.1.4 changes my screensaver everytime i use it. It seems to pick a file at randon and then uses it for the screensaver. Using an 27" iMac OSX 10.7.5

Hello howsue, in your system details it seems that you have in your [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox#Windows profile folder] a [http://kb.mozillazine.org/User.js_file User.js] file. The user.js file does not exist by default. If you create the file, forget it, if you have not create the file then try to delete the User.js file, to see if the problem goes away (some programs create the file also).
    thank you

  • Why do I have to allow a new window every time to open from within another window, Ie, from an email?

When I try to go to a web site from another web site or from an email from a link, I am required to click on the "ALLOW" button every time. It seems like if I have already clicked on it that I have allowed it. It is very frustrating. If it can't be fixed, I will either go back to an older version of firefox or choose another browser

hello, you can disable these warnings, when you go to ''firefox > preferences > advanced > general > warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page''.

  • I updated my software to iOS6 and now my phone won't automatically join known wifi networks even though I have it on.  It goes back to 3G every so often when I'm at home instead of using wifi, and each time I ask to join it asks for my wifi password

I updated my software to iOS6 and now my phone won't automatically join known wifi networks even though I have it on.  It goes back to 3G every so often when I'm at home instead of using wifi, and each time I ask to join it asks for my wifi password

Try this for your home Wi-Fi:
On your iPhone, Settings > Wi-Fi > select your home network > "forget this network"
Power down (unplug) your wireless router
    Restart your iPhone
    Plug in your router
    Re-join that network
I don't know if this simple technique will fix it for good but try it. There is a long thread about this problem here: iOS 6 WiFi Disabled

  • Airport Joining public WiFI network

I am building a small restaurant, and will be served by a municipal WiFi network. Can I use an Airport/Extreme to access the WiFI net to provide an access point for my POS system and an (Ooma) VOIP phone? I use an Airport network at my other location to extend WIFI all over the place, but the Airport Extreme is plugged into a DSL router. Will and Airport connect to another network? I was hoping I could set-up my own little Airport net inside, and use the Muni WiFI to connect to the Web.

Can I use an Airport/Extreme to access the WiFI net to provide an access point for my POS system and an (Ooma) VOIP phone?
    Sorry, but no.
However, you should be able to use an AirPort Express to "join" the WiFi network and then connect an Ethernet cable from the LAN <--> port on the Express to the WAN (circle of dots) port on an AirPort Extreme and configure the Extreme to create your own private wireless network.
Will and Airport connect to another network?
Yes, if you use an AirPort Express, but the Express cannot both connect to and then extend a third party network. That is why you will need to use another AirPort router to create a wireless signal. Unless you need the extra features of an AirPort Extreme, you could use two AirPort Express devices.
