Why am I being told that Adobe will no longer allow Elements 12 to Connect to their Servers ?

I have recently purchased and installed Elements 12, using an official Adobe download link, but the Photo Editor will simply not connect to the Adobe server - even though Organizer does.
Each time I attempt to connect to the Photo Editor, the Login screen just 'hangs' with a rotating hour glass.
The best 'advice' I have had from Adobe is that they no longer support Elements 12 and I have to upgrade to 13 because they will not allow 12 to connect to their servers when logging on?
If Adobe will not support Elements 12, why is it still possible to purchase and download Elements 12 using sites such Amazon, PC World etc:

Also, this would mean that all existing 12 users would have to upgrade - this doesn't sound quite correct to me; Could some from Adobe please comment ?

Hi Gary,
That should indicate that you can reach the servers but something could be blocking the ports used to log in.
Can you please try the following diagnostic test.
Close any open applications - the test requires a restart of your system
Click on the start button and in the search field, enter msconfig
It should find msconfig.exe - select that
In the system configuration window, select the Diagnostic startup option (middle one) and click on OK
It will think for a while and then ask if you want restart now or later - go for the restart
When the system has restarted (in a limited form), log in and see if you can load the editor
After the test, run msconfig again and select the Normal startup option (top one) and click on OK
It will think again and ask about the restart - restart the system
When the system loads, it should be back to your normal startup.
If the editor did load during the diagnostic startup but not normally, then there must be a clash somewhere - now we have to find out where.

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:

☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.

I also think it may have to do with the fact that i dropped it...
When i try to connect to my yahoo email via the Mail thingy, it will say "user name or password for apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com is incorrect even though my yahoo password and user name is correct. I know because if i were to het my username or password wrong, it would tell me "user name or password for *insert my email* is incorrect".

This is copied from your first post. Am I reading this wrong? Aren't you saying that you are getting a message that the username and password are incorrect? That's why I asked another the word apple in the name. I don't use Yahoo mail that may in fact be correct but I'm just checking,
IF you are getting a message that the username and password are incorrect.....
Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

You shouldn't be, but you would have to contact Apple support to find out what the issue is: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/. If you are outside of your free support window there would normally be a charge for the call but under the circumstances you could plead your case that you should not be charged.

Launch Keychain Access and click on Login in the left hand pane and then on Passwords. Next do search for Apple in the search field at the top and click on Apple ID Authenicication in the list that comes up. That will give you the ID no. and password.

Re-bricked my hardrive and now I am being told that I cannot d/l my iTunes

Purchased music to my iPod. I am being told that it is only authorized for use on one device. This is the only device I have ever used. My disk was full on my computer, so I saved all my music, photos, and documents and reinstalled Windows ME software, wiping out my entire hard drive. Then upgraded to Windows XP, then reinstalled all my basic software, including iPod and iTunes from the iPod I just purchased two weeks ago. All music/videos I have download from iTunes have been purchased within the last two weeks. I backed them up and reinstalled them on my computer and now I'm told that I cannot put them on my iPod because I am only authorized for one device.
Questions #1: How can I put my iTunes purchased music back onto my iPod (my one and only device).
Questions #2: How can my music be authorized for more than one device, if I purchase another iPod for my husband? Will I have to buy all my music twice?
I just spent over $200 on music and videos from iTunes in the past two weeks and now I can't use any of them. What is the solution? It's kind of upsetting to lose that much money so fast. Makes me think I should have bought the cds instead. Please help!

I also had system issues a couple of weekends ago. I had to restore my computer. Once complete I reinstalled iTunes and then set all of my backup files in place (I back up my iTunes folder everytime I purchase something). The problem is, everytime I click on anything I purchased, movie or song, it tells me I am not authorized on this computer. I also am using just one computer and have been using the same one for the last couple of years. I attempted to deauthorized my system by following the instructions here in the forum plus instructions found on the site. The odds are that you downloaded AirPort Utility 5.6.1.....which will only work with Leopard and Snow Leopard Macs.
Since your post indicates that you are using Lion 10.7.4, you need the correct utility for Lion. The link is below:

Second, how have others addressed this lost (i.e. other software programs)? The cheaper the software package the better with FREE being the ideal.

If you install Snow Leopard, make sure during the install to open the Optional install items. You must turn Rosetta on, which is not installed by default (necessary to run older PowerPC apps such as Office 2004). If you miss the installation of Rosetta, it can still be installed after the fact a couple of ways.

Well you can't fix it without entering a credit card now - or without creating a new Apple ID. If you did not want to use a credit card with your Apple ID, there is a very specific way that you have to create the account. If you don't or didn't follow those steps exactly, you have no choice now but to enter a credit card - or create a new Apple ID without the credit card.
If you create a new Apple ID, you will also need another email address since you have already associated your current email address to the ID that needs a credit card. You also have to sign out of your ID in Settings>iTunes and App Stores before you can create anothe Apple ID.
